Salt and Good in Stevenage

I love the Salt & Good because you get to pick any type of food from another country like Italy, etc. It was a very cool experience and I would definitely recommend this place.

The last time we visited in 2019, we witnessed something really disgusting in the kitchen because they had the door open in full view of customers getting desserts (a staff member spat in the water he was washing dishes in) we thought we'd give them the benefit of the doubt and try again last night, surely after Covid their hygiene rules must have tighened. That will be the last time we visit. When I say there were limited options of each food choice (think chilli and nachos for Mexican cuisine and that's it) I am sadly not joking. They have moved all the food to the middle row rather than it being under the cuisine names, I assume because it would look bare having only two things under each name, and they would gather more complaints. There was nothing of a Carvery at all. The only British cuisine they had were chips. The only thing that had variety was desserts, unforunatley, everything there lacked any flavour. The banana cake tasted like nothing at all, and the chocolate foundation had been prematurely turned off, leaving a sad residue of slime some what resembling chocolate, remaining on the bottom row, we turned up at 5:30pm, so not later either. We waited 30 minutes for something "freshly" cooked, and had to go looking for a staff member to find out why we hadn't had it. The price is arguably fair, although the lack of food choice makes me feel like it's maybe a bit overpriced now, for £13.99 prime Saturday dinner time it's 'cheap' for an all you can eat, and staff are definitely cheerful, it's just a shame the food isn't. Also it looks like the toilets haven't been decorated since it was a nightclub, and although they are up 4 flights of stairs, they look like a basement murder scene from a horror film, really weird and not worth dressing up for.

Basically the same review as below really. I was pretty shocked at the amount of variety and the quality of food. It was actually terrible.

Went there with some friends and it’s definitely gone downhill. Hygiene is perfectly fine and the staff were really helpful, the food was a different story. There wasn’t much to choose from and the quality wasn’t saying much. World food but it didn’t seem like it at all. Some of the sauces didn’t match the food at all, for example the apple crumble tasted like ginger and the sweet and sour sauce was like a thick jelly texture, the vegetable noodles were hard, the rice was cold, prawn crackers were stale and the chicken nuggets tasted artificial almost like polystyrene. None of the food was hot and it seemed like it had been sitting out for a while. A bit disappointed as I knew the food tasted nice but obviously not. Wouldn’t recommend.

Good vibes staff were motivated & busy. Lots of variety of food, foods very delicious and we had a great time overall :)

Such a lovely restaurant to visit with my children the service is amazing and food is amazing! Will most definately make it my go to place for with the kids

Great location and a spacious place. However we were stood waiting to be seated for quite some time. The poor woman who was seating customers, taking drinks orders doing the bills etc was clearly doing too much and was too much on her own. Quality of the food was very average. No chips, nan bread, garlic bread, chicken pakora and so many popular choices. Given the fact that a Saturday evening dinner price is the dearest of the week if expect it to be better stocked. Only thing I'd say is the price Is OK. You get what you pay for and it is what it is

Food was hot fair enough, was "pleasantly" welcomed to 4 hairs in the food, threw it all in bin, absolutely disgusting

Placed an order online four different meals. The delivery time was spot on and the portions were very good. The food itself is very basic. The chicken wings were hard, the ribs were just fat and the spring rolls were just terrible. I would never recommend and won’t be using again.

Had a collection from here and was surprised by the low prices when selecting my order. This should of given me warning signs right there. Collection time and service was the only saving grace for this place. The food lacked any flavour and when it did taste of something it wasn’t pleasant. Such a shame as I really looking forward to this meal after such great reviews on just eat. Total disappointment.

Just been back to our favourite Salt and Good for the first time since lockdown. All different of course but if anything even better. The food (Shanghai sizzler ) was absolutely lovely and then I had a chocolate brownie sundae that I only just managed to finish. Great service from really friendly staff and great atmosphere. The takeaway food they were doing also looked really good with some very different choices all going out.

Went with my 2 children they loved it... food was so good and dessert was amazing! Will definitely be going again soon!!! :)

I used to love this place. There aren’t many buffet restaurants in Stevenage that do food from many popular countries for food, so this is also a plus. The first time I went here was for a birthday dinner as part of my family. After that first time, I always wanted to go here when my family wanted to eat out. First 3 times that I’d gone had been very high quality but recently, they have not reached their high standards. 7 times out of 10, the food is cold. Yes, it is partly your job to go and get the food when it is just coming from the oven, hob etc. but the food is left out there until the final portion is gone and that’s when the “stock is replenished”. However, there are many types of food and nice desserts that are gluten free, halal or vegan so a good place for everybody!

Had takeaway yesterday for the family and must say it was the best indo-chinese food we had for a while. The food was spot on. All menu items are priced at £4.99 and the portion sizes are very generous. I highly recommend Salt and Good. The food choices, quality and quantity is just amazing.

Just used the new takeaway service due to Covid 19. Really impressed with the quality of the food and the quantity. Had the Ruby Murray box for £4.99 and there was enough for two people! Well worth it. The chicken tikka was excellent, large chunks of chicken breast. Thoroughly recommend

Obviously with Covid 19 going on a visit to the restaurant is out of the question so we decided to try out their online ordering and delivery service.Really impressed, ordered early Friday evening and food arrived 40mins later. Huge portions and much better food. If they stick to this type of service as we come out of lockdown we'll certainly use them again.

Having nominated my daughter and a work colleague via their social media for a free meal for essential workers during lockdown, which they both thoroughly enjoyed, we thought we would place an order for ourselves. We were not disappointed. We ordered Delhi Street fries and a Ruby Murray, delicious food, delivered very quickly and food hot.Second time we ordered Delhi Street Fries again, soooo good along with Cheeky Chan, a choice of 2/5 Chinese dishes served with curry sauce. Again, speedy delivery and delicious food.The price of the food is such great value, we also had a takeaway salad from a different company on a different day which cost us more than the delicious copious portions from Salt & Good.I for one hope they continue with their takeaway service and highly recommend.

Went to Salt and Good Saturday the 29th Feb 2020. First visit and will definitely be the last. Walked in and it was very smoky in there smelt like burning food the place looked very unloved and uncared for in there. No atmosphere. I met my other half and step son in there as I had been shopping. They had a drink already I had sat down with my daughter expecting for a waiter/ waitress to come and take our drinks order but no one came had to go and find someone which wasn’t a great start. Tables were grubby and tiled floor looked unfinished, not sure if it was meant to look like that or not?? Instantly wasn’t sure I wanted to eat to be totally honest as first impressions were not great. But as the kids were hungry thought I’d give it benefit of the doubt! Only had the Thai food. A lot of the food looked very average and uninspiring and the carvey looked dry, there was dirty serving spoons and limited food available considering it was still early about 8 o clock. Thai food wasn’t too bad of what I ate ( which was a small plate)but desserts were tasteless, jelly tasted of nothing and trifle looked very unappealing as for chocolate fountain it looked filthy and it was a mess! Wouldn’t have touched that!! No clean cutlery to hand was trying to find some! I’m just so glad this hadn’t been a special occasion as I would have been gutted. Nothing special about this place. I bought my daughter a pizza from Asda on way home as she hardly ate anything and was still hungry. What a shame a real let down. They had run out of beer and then overcharged us got drinks we never had, seemed reluctant for us to view the bill. I’ve had better dining experiences at Mc Donald’s with better service. Be surprised if this place stays open for much longer,a real shame .... not for me worst meal out in a long time. Don’t bother is my advice a real let down in my opinion. Sorry Salt and Good but there is not much GOOD in this place! Thumbs down from me

Been here a few times and always a good meal. Worth going when really Hungry!The food is average and when busy is turned around quickly and fresh batches of just about everything are available from Duck pancakes, Thai Curry, Carvery plus many more.Only thing i would suggest is they do something about the floor on the upper seating area as its a bit of an eye sore.

I have been here three times total now, and I have to be honest, what started as a cheap and cheerful ‘global’ buffet has gone drastically downhill.On this third, and final, visit, the food selection was minimal and overcooked - chewy noodles aren’t the one. The rest of the food followed suit.Admittedly, food can be viewed differently depending on the customer, but what cannot be perceived as anything other than rancid is the cleanliness...Flies all over the restaurant and food, and the toilets were abysmal. My other half refused to use the ladies due to the state of them, and we promptly paid and left to eat elsewhere.We will not be returning.

Visited last night (Friday) with a large group. First impressions were not great. It was cold tables sticky and metal chairs awful for me to sit on kat alone the older people in the group.We went and got our plates after sifting through 6 I found a clean ish one.First stop salad/cold bar. No thank you.. Think it had been sat there a long time.Them pizza nope.. My favourite but didn't look good. The carvery surely that can't go wrong BUT They did. The one small slice of turkey was dry, the frozen veg tasteless. Frozen Yorkshire cardboard, frozen potato OK is, the Nash liquid the gravy too watery. Left it all. I tried Thai next left this too. Chinese OK the chicken was nice the sweet and sour sauce watery. No more for me I give up so did the rest of the 14 people. Desert... No apple pie just a dirty old try where it once was. Other desert tried and spat out.So I paid £14 for noncence we all did. Stopped at KFC on way home.Don't recommend the place at all

Popped in for a evening meal admittedly a quiet Wednesday evening, atmosphere dead. Staff barely spoke and didn’t take a drinks order- service poor. Food was luke warm, chocolate fountain off with stagnant chocolate in. Felt as though food had been sitting there since lunchtime. Walls next to tables had old gravy splashes on them- general cleanliness poor. Hold your bladder until you get home- trip to toilets not recommended! Up multiple flights of stairs that haven’t seen a mop in years to enter smelly, unclean toilets- awful. Hubby spent rest of the evening at home on the loo. We will never go back.

Food consistently cold especially if quiet. Old stuff left in bottom of pans. Noodles taste of old oil. Only hot items lasagne chilli. Most side dishes cold or lukewarm

Staffk were all friendly and very helpful. Help yourself buffet was fresh and hot. Eat as much as you like. Pizza, pasta, roast, Indian, Chinese, good salads too. Good choice of desserts. £5 oap lunch, good value

Did I go to the same place as some of these other reviewers? My visit was terrible. In typical buffet style the food was sat out to help yourself. It was cold and the quality was awful. They had some food you could have prepared while you wait, I asked for a sizzle steak which came out like a piece of rubber. I then had to walk a mile up stairs and over a bridge to get to the toilet, only to find it dirty and smelly. The cleanliness of the toilets made me wonder about the cleanliness of the restaurant. I definitely won't be going back.

Visited here a few times this year and find that the experience is getting worse , staff unapproachable and seem unhappy . no chocolate fountain food not same standard as when started using this restaurant

New experience, won't be back. Credit where it's due, the staff did their job, but weren't exactly friendly. Some food was nice, other food was dry and stale. Desserts were poor. The location is bad. Stevenage isn't great anyway but an ex multi storey carpark, and if you venture to the toilets youll think you're back in the car park. Dirty and smelly.

Came here with the family for lunch. Shown to our seats and ordered the drinks. Came very quickly and are reasonably priced. meal was buffet style. freshly cooked and hot. Good choice. Includes mains and puddings. Would recommend highly. Well satisfied. Thanks for a lovely lunch.

We have been coming here quite a bit since it opened, and it used to be very good. But I think they have had a change in their management. Under the previous manager, Salt and Good was well run and the staff seemed friendlier. That is sadly not the case now. I can't fault the food, its as good as it's always been. But you now have in place a manager that ignores offers and then tries to move the goalposts, and surly, aggressive staff. You really do feel like they don't want you to be there. Drinks are slammed down on tables and staff look miserable and unapproachable.

Food was great. They lost a star as the building was freezing.... I kept my coat on whilst eating as did others. Also the chocolate fountain wasn't working and I asked for no ice in the drinks and they came full of it. They were left on our table whilst we were up getting food. 1 member of staff rushed off his feet for the whole floor so never saw him again to get them changed or order a second drink.

We tried salt and good for a couple of weeks food ok but felt like we were in a warehouse wine really expensive £18.00 a bottle quite extortionate really cheap food and really expensive wine not good.. ok if you dont want a drink with lunch... different dishes was interesting and unusual and well cooked

Staff were lovely, but we felt the price was expensive for the quality of food. We looked at the menu and thought it was on a similar parr to a Cosmo, well how wrong could we be? The quality of the food fell well below the quality of the food at Cosmo and the choice was rather limited too. The children had freshly cooked food and theirs was really nice, but the food from the counters was quite hit and miss! Shame, as the staff were very accommodating and friendly.

Staff were great at facilitating a table for 11 of us. The food had a good selection although the tacos were stale and the pozza didnt look too great if im honest. But everything else was brilliant

Visited with my family for my birthday and from the start we had wonderful staff and service. First our balloon floated to the ceiling and staff found whatever they could to get it back down for us and they did! After that a drink was spilled and they sorted it straight away and replaced it which was lovely. Other than that, lovely people and would definitely recommend :)

What a fantastic place! Tables are well spaced out, the staff are so friendly & helpful, the ambiance is just so good. The food choices are a plenty & very tasty. Can’t recommend any higher.

Very large space with polite and helpful staff. Food was ok butmy expectations are never high when eating at a buffet style place. Lots of choice so there was somthing for everyone. The space was very cold and lighting very dim. Overall Ok

1st visit to this restaurant but it wont be my last . The food was a help yourself buffet style with a vast range of world foods , Italian , Indian , Chinese , English (lovely roast selection ) and also a lovely salad bar and the desserts range was vast , again just help yourself . All the food i tried ( and I tried a bit of each as it was a new experience for me ), the food was well cooked ,compliments to the kitchen staff also the waiting staff were very helpful and professional . An all round good dining experience at a very reasonable price . will be going back very soon .

Was better as a Night club, even in it later days sorry to say. This Buffet style of world food does not live up to expectations. Poor and rushed. Decore seems unfinished, food warm at best. Staff do not seem bothered one way or another.

Indian restaurant in UK are generally pricey – ala carte menu with “mains” up to 6-7 GBP, “starters” at about 3-4 and each nan costing 2-3 GBP – means a meal for a person tops about 20 GBP with stomach not full yet. A dinner at Salt & Good on a weekday costs 14 GBP (though lunch is much cheaper). There is variety in terms of Indian food, pizza, and many other cuisines. But I am not a big fan of lot of variety – for me it is perfectly ok to have a few things to eat – things that I like. And nothing better than some breads and curry in UK – things I have largely been deprived of.

We enjoyed our meal at salt and good, lots of variety and pudding is spot on. The place could do with being decorated and the chairs need cleaning but food is good.

Staff couldn't do enough for us and very attentive ! The only place that I have been to that offers the self serve world cuisine. Even down to the Mocktail that I had tasted divine! My daughter loved that she could help herself and the chocolate fountain was her favourite of course!

I'm a regular to salt and good. I've always liked the food choices they have and I have dinner at least once a week here.. But in the recent days, service is not very good.. As I like this place so much, I planned to have my kid's birthday party here by inviting few of our friends for a Friday dinner. I asked the restaurant team whether I'm allowed to bring a birthday cake for the party but they said they can do a small birthday cake and I' was happy with that.. But on the birthday, the team didn't even bother to ask /provide that cake.. I thought of cutting a cake for my kiddo during the dinner when our friends were there but couldn't do since they didn't even bother to ask /provide the cake as promised.. I could've brought my own cake but since they told me they gonna provide a small one, I didn't bring.. Being a regular, I don't expect special treatment but atleast the small thing that they promised.. After all, all the restaurants provide a small courtesy birthday cake, if they know the group is celebrating the birthday.. Here they didn't even bother.. I was so frustrated but well, atleast the food was OK.. But I'll think twice before taking anyone here..

Been with family for dinner, was too hot inside, no fan ,no Ac and food was cold. Will never go back

Went here for 1st time tonight as a group of 12 for my son's birthday. The service is 1st class - friendly, helpful and very fast and also quick and discreet when clearing tables. The choice of food was fabulous, from starters to desserts. The place was clean, food excellent and everyone had a fantastic experience - including the 5 children in our party. Families this is one to try. Beats anything else local.

Visited here on the spur of the moment as next door to the hotel and thought there would be something for all the family to enjoy. We arrived an hour before closing. There was a variety of foods such as Italian, Indian, Chinese and carvery etc. It all tasted nice and was nice to taste different foods encouraging my daughter to experience new things, would recommend the curries. Good service and good value for money for what you get. Wish we'd arrived earlier so more food would be available as obviously no longer cooking fresh due to closing

We were recently staying in Stevenage and were looking for some where for dinner,when my husband saw and advert for your restaurant. Enjoyed the concept and choice of food on the buffet

Came here for a lunch on a Sunday. Service is pretty good and the staff are on it to maintain a tidy place. Food is OK, perhaps Sunday isn't the best day to go as some of the bits like poppadums and crackers were a tad stale. Good price and enough choice to keep you happy!

24 of us met up today, I was pleasantly surprised!! The food was ok, not great but not terrible, so perhaps it should be called salt & average, what was good was the price £8.99 for Sunday lunch I think my daughter had more than that just in haribos at the end of the meal

Another visit here for lunch with friends. Such a great choice of food. I enjoyed the Chinese food today. Nice to be able to serve yourself and re-visit for seconds! Staff are attentive.

Parking at the location wasn't much of an issue but it was an evening visit so the car park opposite for Matalan wasn't chargeable otherwise you would have to pay the usual town center parking prices as the restaurant doesn't have its own car park.

Just been to salt&good; for our daughters 15th birthday. Fantastic selection of food,Indian,Chinese,Thai,italian,and British. When I mentioned the birthday they came out at the end with a load of brownies with candles. Really friendly staff,and great surroundings. Highly recommended.

This is quite honestly the worst restaurant I have ever been to! Chicken was tough and dry, the carvery meat was overcooked and looked like it had been sat there all day. The food was barely warm. The serving counters looked dirty and the staff looked miserable. Drinks are expensive. Never going back to this place.

This restaurant is tucked away and a little hard to spot. Walk past the 2 sports bars to get to Salt & Good. It’s worth it, in 2 ways. Inexpensive and clean.

I am sorry i have to say this, but the food here is really really poor. Went for lunch and the food was just abysmal. Dry, tasteless lukewarm food. Would not return :(

I really like this place. I visit Stevenage on business and want somewhere where I can get good food at a reasonable price in a decent atmosphere.

Since my last visit here around a year ago, nothing had changed. Food choice still the same. Some food had obviously been sitting on the hot plate for a considerable amount of time and was rather dried up.

I have only seen this amount of choice in a buffet in 5 star hotels abroad. There was Italian, Mexican, Salad Bar, English, Oriental, Indian, Desserts and condiments. Popped in before a show with a friend who goes with her mum a lot and it is good value, quality food especially if you arrive hungry and can try more things. I was full and still wanted to eat more. Liked especially the strawberry mousse, creme brulee, garlic prawns.. service friendly and relaxed, plenty of space, did not feel pressurised. Just wish there was something similar closer to home.

Been to salt and good many times, and this place is frustrating. Sometimes amazing , sometimes poor.

We thought we’d give this place the benefit of the doubt from our last visit but wished I’d not bothered!! Sunday at 4 pm visit! Food was limited not a great fresh selection, salad ok!! All the Chinese food was over peppered!! The deserts well I must give credit to the apple crumble delishous but the choco fountain was totally bunged up!!

Interior is lovely, food is a big let down considering the dessert area! Apple crumble was just apples without the crumble, the Mexican cuisine was very dissapointing no spice of flavour in the food, stale taco shells! Salad bar was very messy and sauces had been dripped all over salad due to NO one watching what there doing, on the drinks menu it says they serve Pepsi which when I ordered a Pepsi they only do Pepsi max and mentioned the normal Pepsi shouldn't even be on the menu ...

Enjoyed a lovely get together here with friends before the theatre last week. Service is good and the management & staff offer a warm welcome. Food choice is good & I love the salad bar!! Great value, good choices... my friends loved it too although I know they enjoyed the double vodkas too!!

I went expecting quantity over quality and was treated to both. Very good quality buffet with a wide variety of food.

I went on 1st Feb 2019 for Dinner with my wife and my 6 year old kid. Reading few comments here, didnt know what to expect but it was a pleasant surprise.. Good variety of food and live cooking stations. My kid and i enjoyed the dessert station. Indian food was really nice and flavorful. Italian made to order pasta, risotto was great as well. You can find Italian, Mexican, Indian, English, Chinese and Thai stations.

I come here a lot with my son, we normally attend for the dinner service. You know what your getting the price reflects that. Great variety, accommodates both myself and my four year old. But we went Sunday lunch time, the choice wasn’t what it normally was, the food looked tired. The place was busy, I just thought a bit more TLC was needed. We will be back, my little man loves the dessert options and learnt how to use chopsticks there.

Absolutely great food. Best buffet I’ve ever been too. Choice was amazing, loved the live station- food was super tasty (especially steak and pasta). Cocktails were very good. Only criticism was service was a bit slow at the beginning ( food made up for this). Staff were very friendly nevertheless.

Brilliant baby shower tonight. Lovely friendly staff very helpful. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Food and drink was good. Would highly recommend again. We will be back.

This place is disgusting. The majority of food was in crock pots left on hot plates or left out in the open for god knows how long the humus had hardened as well as the pitta bread. There was no place to put your plate to dish your food properly. You have to manoeuvre taking the heavy lid off the pot with holding your plate and dishing your food, they had a ‘spoon’ plate in front of every pot. The meats were dry and or the dish tasted foul like chemicals. The deserts and sweets were left out in the open going dry and stale and the chocolate fountain wasn’t even switched on my child had the excitement of scooping nearly cold chocolate from the bottom bowl for his dry hard marshmallows. No fruit or anything exciting for that. I had to ask for some more crispy duck which was taken out of a freezer and stuck in a deep fryer which came out nothing like crispy duck it was cold and soggy. Nothing seems fresh and no care taken on cooking, just seems like basic quick cooked frozen food which tastes like crap. Not only that my whole family had a dodgy stomach the following days. I would not bother coming here. Very disappointing.

First visit here tonight can see it becoming a regular place to eat.So much choice of foods from around the world all tasty and very enjoyable.

Well were do I start. Great place lots of space tables not close together. The food is great so much to choose from and hot food great value for money. The staff are very polite and helpful.

Popped in for a drink, we told the man that we were only having a drink, he seated us at a table, we went to pay for our drink and were charged £40, we told him we just had 2 drinks, and he told us we shouldn't have sat where he seated us! He threw my change at me. No need to be so rude for to a paying customer.

Today we visited salt and good for my daughter's birthday dinner being a table of 20+ the staff were friendly and polite and attentive and the food was great. Shally over saw our booking and how our evening was handled to a high standard. Would recommend highly.

Restaurant zit in de buurt van het Ibis hotel. Varieerende keuken (buffet) voor een goede prijs. Grote glazen drinken.

Very average.. you get what you pay for.. we went lunchtime today (Sunday 30th Dec) not much variety at all, was shown to our table quite quickly and given 1 drinks menu for us both to view, was then told just go help yourselves.. wasn't once approached for more drinks even though staff kept hovering around our table.. dessert table was wonderful a lot of choice and all tasted fantastic .. overall Good.3*

We booked for Christmas Day a few months ago. There were 5 adults, including my 92 year old grandmother. We tend to visit every few months and have always been impressed. So, what would Christmas Day be like?

Went a few months ago. Probably picked worst time to go to an all you can eat. After work on a Monday. Food not great. They sure know how to destroy a steak!! Deserts rank. The Chinese bits were ok. And chicken was nice. The toilets were absolutely horrendous. And a very long hike up several flights of stairs.

Very dissatisfied , expensive for very average food which looked and tasted bland . Grubby crockpots with food that was stewed and Luke warm and was not topped up . Staff were quite dismissive and when we asked questions they didn’t even seem to know what was in the dishes from an allergy point of view. Overall a big thumbs down I’m afraid :(

Today we are here again for lunch in December. Menu is getting better, first time I have lamb Biriani, roast turkey prawns etc. We come here as senior citizens and get discount. Fantastic value and good food, I would recommend this buffet restaurant to any local or tourist.

First time here and what a lot of choices they had the Mexican was delicious as was the pizza. Will have to go back to try the other options available

We chose this restaurant because it's world food and has something for everyone. From salad and dips to Mexican, Chinese, Indian italian and roast dinner. Our 6 children loved it and under 12s are half price which is a winner for us being a family of 8. Food all well cooked it's s buffet so you can have as much as you like, also a winner for the ones who eat ALOT!!!! Big place kept fairly clean, toilets aren't very clean or welcoming but they have them.

Visited here whilst visiting stevenage, reading the reviews they were very mixed so we thought we would try it out for ourselves.

Went with a client and was impressed as always. Such a great choice pizza, pasta, chillie, Indian and Thai. The desserts are hot and fresh

We decided to visit Salt and Good on a recommendation but were very disappointed. On arrival the place has all the charm of an industrial unit, we were shown to a table and given one drinks menu between us, drinks were ordered and arrived promptly. We then went to the buffet to get food, there were several styles, Mexican, Indian, Thai, Carvery etc but the dishes, open and unprotected by glass sneeze/spit guards under the signs,didn’t seem to match the style, it all seemed random. We looked at what was available and were unimpressed, a large proportion of the dishes were empty of nearly empty with dried burnt on dregs in the bottom and there was a great deal of spilled food on the counter top and around the dishes that had clearly been left for a long time as it was dried up burnt on, in all it was very un appetising and generally filthy. Some fresh Pulled Pork appeared in the Mexican (?) area while we were looking, and we had that in a taco. In was unremarkable, probably pre produced and re heated. We ate it and so far haven’t bought it up again! Having eaten this we decided to look at the desserts , mainly very small portions of factory made items, apple pie that looked like dirty water and bowls of pre handled sweets, most of the dishes were again filthy with spilled food and dirty serving spoons and again no protection from sneeze or spit, so we didn’t chance it. There is an ice cream freezer containing a few mostly empty plastic containers of ice cream and a heap of cones and again bits of broken cones that hadn’t been cleaned up next to a scoop in a plastic bowl of filthy water, presumably intended for serving the ice cream. We passed on dessert, decided to leave and went to pay. To be fair, we hadn’t looked at the menu or prices before we went in as it didn’t look like the sort of place where price was going to be a consideration. We were staggered to be handed a bill for £40 for the two small dishes and a couple of drinks ! The food is a fixed 14.99 each and the rest was drinks. The 14.99 would have been OK if there been enough edible food to make it worth while, but the available choice and very poor quality didn’t incline us to eat any more. There were other customers piling food on plates and eating with the urgency and manners of the impending end of the world, and clearly they were happy. After raising the points about the lack of choice, poor quality and general filthy state of everything we were given a £10 reduction from our bill, the ease with which this was done suggested it happens frequently. All in all an awful place that I suggest you avoid.

My partner and I came here last night 10th November for my birthday. Amazing cocktails and food choice, not too much to overpower you, a nice selection of Italian, Indian, Mexican, Chinese and Thai for you to pick at. Also a wide variety of desserts. We will defiantly be returning when we next visit Stevenage. We are from the Midlands, best buffet restaurant I have tried. I enjoyed every mouthful. Food was hot unlike other buffet places where its lukewarm by time you get back to your table. Shelley and his team were excellent and really friendly. Would highly recommend this restaurant. Ridiculous, cheap nonsense with absolutely hardly any choice of food. They clearly don't know what they're doing and you can see it on their faces.

Food was great, had an amazing time. The cocktails definitely do have alcohol in them and they’re not too expensive! If you’re a lover of deserts, there is a lot of options to choose from and a chocolate fountain is also available! Will definitely dine there again.

Visited the place for buffet to celebrate team building for our workplace. Very good food, nice place and very friendly staffs. More choices including varieties of deserts. Alcholic Drinks are also reasonable price. Would recommend others to visit. Planning to take my family next time.

We have visited twice now and have been pleased on both occasions. We would not visit for a "fancy" meal but it is an ideal place for a group, especially if everyone likes to eat different food. There is a huge variety of food which has been tasty & fresh each time we have been. The staff are friendly & we have had good service both times we visited.

Visited as in the area on business training. The location is slightly tucked away and we only found it by chance.

The welcome and seating process went well and the drink soon arrived. The food choices are limited and some items had clearly been there a while. Also note there is a lot of salt in most of the items. The value was poor as the bill including drink was over my£15 budget. Will try elsewhere in future

Unfortunately the food here is extremely cheap and bad quality. It's actually impressive on how bad every dish they make is.

Fresh prepared as you can watch them while cooking. Nice style of inferior. Always busy and nearly full of clients. Thus is the best recommendation. It's lots of variety of food. Nice service. Well done

But not really my cup of tea. Bit like an army mess hall, noisy and open. Food was fine, and if all your family wants something different, this would be a good choice. Service a bit limited, but overall good value for money.

My son has type 1 diabetes and we were testing his blood glucose when we arrived. The waitress came to take our order and we asked for 4 diet cokes. Instead we were served full fat cokes which fortunately we picked up on before my son drank too much. We had to medicate him straight away and spent a long time after trying to get his sugar levels down. We explained the severity of this error to the manager who didn't seem bothered in the slightest!
