We hosted our Wedding Reception in the beautiful upstairs space of The Oriel. I cant thank the Oriel team enough for their hard work on the day, especially Maria who worked her socks off preparing the upstairs space with all our decorations and ensuring our day ran smoothly. The food was fabulous and highly complimented by our guests. We highly recommend The Oriel if you’re needing a venue to host a reception or party because they will go above and beyond for you. Thank you guys so much for creating a very special day.

Really enjoyed food and service. I had the carbonara and it knocked mine into a cocked hat! Friend has Calzone which I tried and we both loved.

Maurizio is a hugely talented agrichef, who sources 75% of ingredients locally. His passion for quality, local sourcing and for using seasonal produce (and Extra Virgin Olive Oil) is a joy to behold! 2. Service Cinzia is a delightful, charming hostess - welcoming, friendly and professional. Her wider team are warm and attentive. 3. Ambiance A beautiful converted weavers cottage lends the ambiance a rustic, cosy, wonderfully romantic charm 4. Unique La Locanda is unique. Very rarely can you find a restaurant that has award-winning, authentic, world class food, wonderfully attentive service and a fabulous ambiance. Also worth mentioning the many extra special touches - ever changing daily specials, palette-cleansing sorbet between courses and delicious Italian chocolate truffles/chocolate served with the best coffee outside Italy! Finally, the La Locanda team go above and beyond to accommodate my often difficult, medical diet (gluten-free, dairy free, pescatarian). Maurizio and Cinzia are passionate restaurateurs who deliver a unique, truly Italian experience. We feel truly lucky to live close to this exceptional restaurant and have been enjoying monthly dinners there for 19 years. Grazie Mille!

Booked one week before for 3 people for the Sunday. Turned up to find the shutters down tried ringing and hung up sent a Facebook message read it and ignored. One of our party had travelled all the way from Carlisle and I was treating them here for there birthday. Very unprofessional for a business that is supposed to value its customers. The fact that they actually hung up and also read the online message and just ignored it. I would be cautious if your planning anything special with them !

No comment needed – the calzone served here is simply outstanding. Perfectly baked, rich in flavour, and truly unbeatable. One of the best I’ve ever had – I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

Good quality find - friendly, attractive place to eat. Good range of Italian food - our choices were tasty and reasonably priced. Teenagers were happy (tick).

There were 12 of us at lunch to celebrate my birthday. We were made very welcombe by the lovely staff .The food was really good , excellent service , altogether a very nice meal .

Had an absolutely amazing meal at Little Italy last night. Authentic home made Italian Food that is absolutely delicious. We were made very welcome, had a great evening and will return very soon. Highly recommended!

Booked for my daughter’s birthday 14th April, had a table for three. The restaurant was really nice and larger than I expected. The staff were excellent and very helpful, they delivered my daughter’s dessert with a birthday candle which was a very kind gesture. The food was also excellent, so well done chef. I’m not in that area very often but when I am I will certainly have another meal in there.

Definitely nice and good quality, but do collection or delivery! They charge £5 more on almost every dish if you eat in... ridiculous!!
