A Delightful Lunch at L' Assaggino We had a wonderful lunch at L' Assaggino in Richmond, and it was an experience worth sharing. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a charming Italian touch that made me feel right at home. We ordered the malloreddus with mushrooms and fregola with prawns, caprino and truffle, and it was a beautifully balanced dish—rich, comforting, and full of depth. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the mushrooms added an earthy richness that complemented the dish wonderfully. To finish, I indulged in the millefoglie dessert, which was an absolute delight. The twist with pane carasau arranged in a stylish way, with creamy and honey were a perfect combination—light, yet indulgent. A special mention to Manolo, who was a fantastic host—warm, attentive, and passionate about the food and service. His hospitality made the experience even more enjoyable. The combination of delicious food, great ambiance, and excellent service makes L' Assaggino a place we’d happily return to. Highly recommended! Thank you!

I had the most incredible birthday dinner at L’Assaggino Richmond, and I can’t recommend it enough! From the warm and welcoming staff to the authentic Sardinian cuisine, everything was perfect. We started with Parmigiana di Melanzane and Gamberi Piccanti—both bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. For mains, we had the Ravioli Scampi e Bufala, a stunning combination of langoustine and buffalo mozzarella in a spicy cherry tomato sauce with a touch of lemon zest, and the Fregola Gamberi e Tartufo, a rich and decadent dish of artisan Sardinian pasta with king prawns, goat cheese, tomato, and black truffle cream—simply unforgettable. Desserts were just as spectacular. The handmade tiramisu was light and creamy, while the Mirto Pannacotta was a perfect balance of sweetness and the unique aroma of Sardinia’s famous myrtle liqueur. We paired everything with a bottle of Argiolas Vermentino Costamolino, a crisp and refreshing white wine that complemented the meal beautifully. The service was exceptional, making my birthday truly special. If you’re looking for authentic Sardinian flavors, expertly prepared dishes, and a fantastic dining experience, L’Assaggino Richmond is a must-visit!

My friends from the US decided to visit this place because of a show they watched on TV and idk personally, I think it is craaaazy how much money they charge for what i'm 99% sure is just a walkers shortbread that you can buy from tescos etc. Now that's not to say this is on my friends for paying that much for shortbread biscuits - but as a local myself, seeing a local place rip off tourists like that, is quite sad.

I’m really sorry to leave a bad review but I had booked this restaurant for my friend’s 50th birthday. I had requested the best table in the restaurant. When I turned up, they looked surprised for my booking for 4 people and had to scramble to put two tables together. If that wasn’t bad enough, it took 30 minutes to even get tap water let alone place an order for a drink. The restaurant was cold and draughty. Food was okay, although my friend did not get the dish she ordered. She had changed her order but the waiter said ‘you changed so many things’, so it was uncomfortable when she was asked if she wanted a replacement dish, probably would have taken forever to arrive anyway, so want worth the bother

I used to be a regular customer of the restaurant for two consecutive years as I used to live in Richmond. Last year I moved to central London and still I kept visiting the restaurant for twice a month, sometimes with my fiancée as we used to enjoy the food and atmosphere there. Today, the same waiter who used to serve us (curly hair) turned out to be very rude & aggressive as they changed the menu and he didn’t explain to me that they included a different type of pasta that I usually order as a sea food. I was surprised that it wasn’t what I was expecting and it looked like risotto, I asked him kindly that I wasn’t aware but his response was so aggressive (even the chef was shocked). He continued to tell me that he doesn’t have the time to deal with customers like me who only come twice and month, order one dish and water and no wine (seems it’s main source of revenue for him) I told him this is not a kind attitude towards a regular customer who visited the place regularly and recommended other people to come. He went on to force me to leave and said he doesn’t care and me not coming again isn’t gonna make any difference to his revenue. This is a very bad customer service and the worst I’ve seen for ages, especially for someone who was always a loyal customer. Clearly a waiter who isn’t aware of the business risk the owner has to take to establish his name and someone who prioritises profit over customer satisfaction and good treatment can’t go any far. Also, there are many restaurants in the area that provide better food & service and surely can’t survive too long with this attitude.

Booked for New Years Eve. The restaurant is lovely and the team so friendly. The food that we had was delicious but the service was lacking. We didn’t receive any side dishes we ordered and even after asking about them twice, they didn’t arrive. One side dish came eventually but by that time we’d finished our mains. We were offered free deserts to make up for it but only one of our party wanted one. Unfortunately when the bill arrived, we had been charged for it but didn’t realise until after we had paid!!! We will try the restaurant again as it was really nice otherwise and we’re hoping the poor service was a one off.

Had a lovely dinner at this quaint restaurant in Kew. Friendly service, food was delicious I had the special pasta with Italian sausage and porcini mushrooms. My wife had the lamb ragu. Both dishes were delicious. For starters I have the spicy prawns (spice was 2 max) so not too hot for those who might wonder about the heat. The other starter was a bruschetta with burrata on top one of their specials. Rocket and Parmesan salad was fresh, right amount of oil and salt. Gavi was a nice choice. I would recommend and will come back

L’Assaggino – A Taste of Italy in Richmond L’Assaggino in Richmond delivers a truly delightful Italian dining experience, one that feels like a little corner of Italy right here in the UK. From the moment you walk in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere sets the stage for an authentic meal. The service is exceptional — our server spoke fluent Italian, adding an extra layer of authenticity and charm to the experience. They made us feel genuinely cared for, and their knowledge of the menu only enhanced the evening. The highlight, of course, was the pasta. It was clear that the pasta was freshly made in-house, with that unmistakable texture and flavor that only comes from true craftsmanship. Every dish was bursting with rich, balanced flavors — from the perfect al dente bite of the pasta to the expertly seasoned sauces. Each bite reminded me of meals I’ve had in Italy, and that’s no small feat. The attention to detail in both the service and the food made the experience stand out. Whether you’re seeking a casual yet refined meal or simply craving authentic Italian cuisine, L’Assaggino is a must-visit. I’ll certainly be returning to savor more of their delicious offerings. Highly recommended!

We booked a table of 7 for a 70th birthday. 1) they got the time of the booking wrong, which meant people were going to be late to the booking. 2) when we got there they only had a table for four, and so we had to cancel our dinner. They gave a lame apology of 'oh, next time we'll try better.' 3) when we complained they were rude and really didn't give a damn. We went to the restaurant 'Sebastian's' just around the corner instead. They were much kinder, squeezed us in on a Saturday night, and we had a tasty meal there instead.

So it had an excellent atmosphere. I would whole heartedly recommend this for a great night out with friends. Though I would imagine booking in advance is required as there is limited space. We went to explore Richmond to see Ted Lasso areas and stumbled across this restaurant selling Teds biscuits, which I thought it’s lovely and such a great idea. I couldn’t believe when I opened the box to see cheapest shortbread fingers from Tesco or any other store 🤯 and that’s for £9.9!! I was so disappointed I came back for a refund. Fabulous little Italian restaurant down a cute historic alley in Richmond. Very friendly and welcoming. Pasta is the speciality with great ‘standards’ but some very special ‘specials’. I had a warm oven-baked mozzarella on a bed of red pepper sauce mopped up with crusty bread. Then a gorgeous ravioli of goats cheese and fig in a butter sauce and black truffles. Mmm! Top Sardinia restaurant, simply a genuine gem :) If you are Sardinian, you’ll love this place! I’ve never had any great Sardinian dishes in London until I found this! Their home made pasta is simply delicious, especially the coffee one!! Yes, you’ve heard me! But the signature dish of this place is their Sardinian Mille Foglie made with pane carasau! It’s something in between Seadas, Aranzada, pardulas and cannolo siciliano!! This is a treat for your palate and soul! “Una vera coccola” that makes you travel back home if you close your eyes! Not kidding!! The tiramisu was so big I couldn’t believe it! The place is super cute and romantic and the staff simply looks after you as they do in Sardinia! You really feel at home! And any dish can be modified as they are freshly prepared. Grazie ragazzi to have made our 10th wedding anniversary lunch so cosy and simply special :) A presto :) I hope to remember the name of the guy who looked after us, Manolo? I hope I remember well! Noticed this restaurant on our way to the Ted Lasso store as they had the pink boxes of biscuits inspired by Ted Lasso advertised in the window. We were initially looking to eat at The Prince’s Head, the pub featured in the show, but they turned us away as we didn’t have a reservation. So we wandered back to L’assaggino who had open seating at the time and seated us quickly. The waiter gave us some recommendations on refreshing spritz and appetizers to enjoy on the hot day. The limoncello spritz was a bit strong for me but loved the aperol spritz! We had the bruschetta for our starter which came with some complementary olives to snack on while we waited for our pasta dishes which were great. I had the mango sorbet for dessert which was perfect on the hot day. Before we left we got the pink box biscuits to go which we enjoyed later in the day and were so buttery delicious! Would def recommend stopping by here for a meal during your visit to Richmond.

This looks like a stereotypical family-run Italian bistro, boasting less than ten tables. The food being eaten by others smells and looks authentic and tasty. However, this is not the reason for visiting. We are here today because this restaurant is next door to the location of Ted Lasso's house in the TV series and supplied the famous shortbread that Ted cooked in the TV series. I feel that this establishment is short staffed and the kitchen looks way too small. The staff must be exhausted after every shift as they never stop. There were folks queuing outside at one point which is always a good sign. We were not rushed, which was nice. Pleased we went ,however those two flights rickety stairs up to the toilet will surely be the undoing of someone. Would we go back? Probably not due to those stairs.

We had a wonderful family lunch at L'assaggino with small children. The adults tried 3 different pastas, all expertly made. The carbonara was sinfully delicious. My favorite was the fennel sausage with truffle. The staff were incredibly accomodating to the children as well, quickly bringing out a simple pasta for them which they loved. Then they had ice cream for dessert which kept them occupied while we had our mains. It was honestly one of the nicest restaurant experiences we've had with our very young children. I highly recommend it and intend to come back.

Myself and friend ate here last night for the 1st time and were very impressed. Excellant food and the staff couldnt have been more helpful. We asked the waitress about a bottle of wine we didnt know and when it came it was too sweet for us and they changed it without any discussion. Totally recommend it and i would go back

Hidden away in the cute narrow passages of Richmond , this tiny place is a hidden gem. Run by friendly Sicilians (I’m presuming) maybe family) the do a small menu to be able to focus on quality. The food was super fresh and delicious, but be warned a visit to the loo up ancient rickety stairs is not for the faint hearted. Booking is a must to avoid disappointment.

We arrived at the restaurant without too many expectations and were very pleasantly surprised. A small and beautifully designed restaurant, just like in a small town in Italy. The staff was kind and the food was simply delicious. I recommend everyone who comes to Richmond to eat at this restaurant! (I do recommend to make reservations) If I could I would give 10 stars

A Little Slice of Sardinia Right in Richmond! Just dropped into L'assaggino after seeing it featured in the Ted Lasso series – Ted supposedly lives right next door! The hand-made pasta here is the real deal, truly capturing the essence of authentic Italian cuisine. I had the Carbonara, and it was simply amazing – perfectly creamy and authentic. The restaurant itself has a great vibe, spread across two floors with small, cozy rooms that really make the atmosphere feel personal and inviting. Manolo, the owner, is from Sardinia and brings a slice of his homeland to the menu with some delightful Sardinian specialties. He was super attentive and professional. Also, shoutout to Roberto, our waiter, who was incredibly welcoming and great at explaining each dish. Definitely recommend L'assaggino if you're craving genuine Italian cuisine in a charming setting!

This is a small restaurant and initially felt cramped. It was also quite noisy. However the service was prompt and friendly and the food was excellent. Also value for money. We had a very jolly evening and I made a mental note afterwards to leave a good review. A local restaurant that deserves to do well.

My friend and I had a lovely lunch of Parmigiana di Melanzane with side salad, which was great. And the Mille Feuille with a Sardinian twist looked fun and was very tasty, too. Service was a little bit rushed but otherwise no complaints.

Like the other reviews, it was a really delicious restaurant :) It was nice to have a cute atmosphere and all the staff were very friendly and took good care of me. From the recommended starters to the mains (carbonara, raviola), Aperol with blueberries, and the homemade tiramisu, which is enough for two people, everything gets a perfect score♡ I don't think you'll be disappointed no matter what you eat.

Quick service with a good size customisable topping menu. Starters and main were amazing, but I feel like the desert may have not been fresh (if it was, apologies, but it could have been better!) - it was still a good, tasty end to the meal!

Easily the best pizza (and pasta?) in west London! Absolutely lovely staff and a cozy atmosphere 🍕
