Exceptional in every respect...food with excellent raw materials, fast and friendly service, small but really nice environment. I recommend it to my compatriots looking for Italian style...reservation required!

My friend and I had a lovely lunch of Parmigiana di Melanzane with side salad, which was great. And the Mille Feuille with a Sardinian twist looked fun and was very tasty, too. Service was a little bit rushed but otherwise no complaints.

Nice cafe. This is where you can buy cookies Modeled after those from the TED Lasso series. A lovely box and, I must admit, they tasted delicious. Pay £10 if Being a fan of the series is worth it. I recommend

Amazing food、 I really enjoyed carbonara. Pasta with sea food tomato sauce was not impressive than I thought。 customer service was ok I felt a bit rush. I was still drinking a glass of wine but one of the waiter try to take it away and recommend me to a desert. too rush.

Like the other reviews, it was a really delicious restaurant :) It was nice to have a cute atmosphere and all the staff were very friendly and took good care of me. From the recommended starters to the mains (carbonara, raviola), Aperol with blueberries, and the homemade tiramisu, which is enough for two people, everything gets a perfect score♡ I don't think you'll be disappointed no matter what you eat.

Too expensive for what you get. Small place with an attitude of fine restaurant. What a joke.

Went for quick mid-week lunch. Food was exceptional and didn't take long to prepare. We didn't want any alcohol and don't like sparking drinks so went for water. Tap water was not offered to us, just the regular guests; one bottle cost £4.5 factoring service charge.

Amazing food! Giuseppe was amazing he gave us really good food suggestions. We celebrated my mom's birthday, he made our night special. Definitely coming back!!!!

Had dinner last night , the location is perfect right in the centre of Richmond, the interior is cozy and the staff friendly and polite, but alas the food was disappointing, All 4 mains were served tepid on cold plates which is a basic mistake which could easily remedied. The whole attitude of the manager/owner was to get us fed and out so he could have another sitting. We all agreed that we wouldn’t be visiting again sadly .

I have had great Italian meals both in Italy and in the U.K. and this place food wise is very average. Clever wording of menu choices that for me flattered to deceive. Service professional, albeit not with ‘Italian warmth’ and maybe a bit rushed. Online menu very different from menu provided with only one choice of a daily ‘special’.

Everything about this place is special. The food, service and atmosphere are top notch. Loved it!

Cosy restaurant although our table was on a slant so everything felt lopsided. The service was attentive, and the wine we chose was nice. However, the food felt underwhelming and my partners prawns were cold. The burrata was basically just a ball of cheese on a plate with a thin layer of romesco, and it wasn’t that creamy inside. Both pasta dishes were really average and overall we felt the meal did not represent the price tag.

So nice to be able to book a table without having to make a reservation on a credit card - which seems to be the norm for many restaurants now. Had a wonderful dinner, all 5 dinner dishes were excellent - flavoursome and fresh. Such a hidden gem. You must go. The only downfall - there are steep stairs so it's not accessible for everyone.

Best Italian we have ever had. I know Americans don’t really get a say on GOOD Italian food, but this was amazing.

Absolutely charming place! This restaurant is cozy and intimate, perfect for a friendly or romantic date. They served delicious Sardinian food, with a reasonable price. The friendly and efficient service added to the overall positive experience.

I can't even begin to describe how mouthwatering the pasta was! We got the Ravioli Di Zucca E Guanciale (ravioli with ricotta cheese, pumpkin, and guanciale), Gamberi Piccanti (king prawns in spicy tomato sauce on carasau bread), and another pasta dish with tomato sauce, cheese and basil from the specials. The staff were very friendly and the service was quick. The only issue was the noise - it's a very small place, so noise from customers amplifies. Will visit again, probably during a less busy time.

The food was ok, not the best not the worst, definitely expensive for what it is and the menu is limited.

Went for a lunch here and had black pasta and ravioli. The place is essentially a narrow house converted into a restaurant. For the setup and portions, we feel that items are overpriced. Perhaps the cooking is authentic Italian but we found it to be just ok. Our bill had charge for water also which we think the waiter should have informed about beforehand. Because we just wanted tap water but a bottle was brought.

Excellent pasta dishes, which are reasonably priced, and attentive service in a small and very friendly restaurant. I would recommend the restaurant, which is close to Richmond Theatre, without hesitation.

Lovely location (just past the "Ted Lasso pub"), terrific food and service for an early evening family dinner before heading to see Harlequins rugby.

We stumbled across this little restaurant and we were so happy we did! Amazing fresh and tasty food and a great menu.it was hard to chose but the prawn ravioli on special was the best ive ever had

2023: Reasons to return to visit L'Assaggino? The warm and smiling customer service that welcomes you and takes care of you from when you enter to when you leave and even when you are out the door! The welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel at home. The food is all wonderfully good for the eyes and taste buds. But guys my absolute favorite thing is the Sardinian millefeuille!! After two years it was time to go back and try it again and it exceeded expectations and memory. Thank you 2021: Happy 4th birthday to L' Assaggino and its very friendly and discreet staff. Tortelloni with salmon, which would have deserved a photo, but were too good to get lost in chatter and Sardinian millefeuille which in addition to being beautiful was also very good and it's a shame that the photos don't show the wonderful orange smell. This place has genuine local charm which is a rare find in Richmond, the food is delicious and fresh and the waiters really friendly. The atmosphere and setting is no frills and classic which I guess also fits in with the classic Italian theme.

This is it not your average high street Italian. The building is grade 2 listed - so expect an interesting and unique interior. The staff are friendly and efficient and the food is amazing. It’s a cosy restaurant down a quiet lane off Richmond Green. Well worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Absolutely fantastic food, would recommend booking as the place was quite small so not sure how lucky we'd have been on a Saturday night if we hadn't! I had a great vegan pasta, which I've found to be a rare find in other Italian restaurants and my partner had a lovely Ragu. The menu was unique but appealing and we both found it easy to find something we liked.

The food is nothing special, the service is slow & the portion sizes (apart from the tiramasu) very small. Sorry to be so critical of a small independent restaurant, but I won't be returning.

Just great in every way. Fantastic food, service casual and attentive also engaging and entertaining. Very good wine list at very reasonable prices. Authentic Sardinian food that takes me back to my Sardinian visits. Ask for mierto after your meal as a shot not a sprits, how it should be. Lovely, high quality, unpretentious local Italian / Sardinian restaurant and deli with excellent and unusual food, a spacious, bright dining room and lots of tempting things for sale in the deli. Excellent, friendly service.

Food wad delicious and service was good. Overall, it’s a great option for lunch although prepare to order more than one plate as the portions are quite small.

Just had a wonderful meal here - cosy restaurant with a lovely family run atmosphere. Staff were great and the food was faultless! Stuffed squid, pumpkin ravioli, tiramisu - all delicious! We will be back when the porcini mushrooms come on the menu next week!

Pasta less tasty than on previous visits.

My favourite restaurant in Richmond. Everything cooked fresh. This means that they are able to cater for his unusual allergy and he had far more choice than usual. The food is delicious.

I would love to be able to review the restaurant properly but unfortunately my booking (confirmed by text and email) through Google / The Fork failed to make it onto the restaurant’s system and my husband and I together with my sisters and our parents were turned away - not the restaurant’s fault perhaps but they were not particularly apologetic… So don’t book through the Fork and check that your reservation has actually been made.

We booked a table which was also confirmed but the restaurant had no space for us when we arrived and they claimed they couldn’t find our reservation. They turned us away. Given the circumstances which were entirely their fault they remarkably abrupt and unapologetic. Not a good experience. Be careful when booking with these people!

L'assaggino Richmond is a relatively small family run restaurant with a small menu of Italian dishes. It is on two levels with a relatively small upstairs area. Although it is small, the chat can be relatively noisy and isn't helped by the wooden floor. A quirky feature was all the side plates were different 😅 The food was truly delicious with pasta dishes featuring homemade pasta. There were seven in my group and we were all impressed. The tiramasu was also delicious. 😋 The whole experience was topped by nice red and white wines. Service was friendly, welcoming and efficient. A slight down side is that there seemed to be only one unisex toilet for the whole restaurant.

This is one of my favourite restaurants in the area. They have great service and really cozy atmosphere. The food is excellent, especially the vegan pasta with pistachio. I also tried yesterday the black truffle pasta which was the special dish of the day. Everything was excellent, except the "ted lasso biscuits". I thought they would be some sort of special housemade biscuits reflecting what was in the series, and it turned out to be just the usual shortbread you can find in any grocery store. I was disappointed to pay £9.90 on a collection of 6 shortbreads. It felt like a tourist trap to me, hence why I am giving the 4 stars overall.

A nice gem of a place, with character and charm. Food was good, but could be better and a little more in quantity, given the price you pay. Service and friendliness of the staff is really good!

The zucchini starter was tasty, but very small. Pasta with seafood was full of crushed mussels shells. Was really impossible to eat without breaking your teeth. When we asked if they made “the tedd lasso biscuits“ themselves, they said yes, we make them in house. But it turned out just supermarket short breads. Glasses were dirty. As well as the toilet.

Intimate venue, with a focused menu. Food was extremely high quality at a reasonable price. Plates were relatively small, which was appreciated. The zucchini starter with goats cheese and honey was a stand out

Simple, but very tasty and very special. The pasta dishes that we tried were amazing. The vegan pasta was truly special, something that cannot be easily said. The desserts were amazing, the best cannoli we have tasted in London. On the negative side is that the place is kind of small and you can find yourself dining in very close proxomity with others.

Wonderful meal with my partner here to celebrate a special occasion. They specialise in pasta so go here if you want a wonderful experience on trying real Italian pasta. Enjoyed all the courses, but the Seafood Carbonara is to die for. Also the starters are tasty so make sure to get one to match.

I loved everything about this place. More intimate and homely than the pics suggested. Super-helpful and warm service. Flavourful dishes that were well presented. I'll be heading back there as soon as I get another chance.

We always try and book this place before we head off to Twickenham, so we booked again for Saturday 12th August Despite the restaurant being super busy as the service was as usual faultless , all the staff are friendly and engaging ,we never felt rushed The food was amazing , sweet potatoe gnocchi with prawns was delicious as was the RAVIOLI CON FICHI E CAPRA and PAPPARDELLE AL RAGU DI AGNELLO, Tiramisu is compulsory ! However they manage to produce food of this quality in such a tiny kitchen is staggering. Would n't hesitate to recommend , can't wait for our next visit

I give it three stars, because I did not see the attention to detail for what was paid at the end of our dinner. I used to live in Richmond for seven years and currently, I return three or four times a year. This restaurant was suggested by my ex-partner and I happily agreed, as he has a very good taste in fine dinning! It turns out, it was his first time! Our reservation was for inside, but the Manager kindly, allowed us to be seated outside :) I am a smoker, I know, that I am a thug ;) To start with, we ordered a Prosecco, Spritz and tab water. We received bread and olives and had to wait for the olive oil. Then, we ordered our mains, mine was calamari with Mediterranean paste and my ex-partner ordered some pasta with octopus. I had to ask for black pepper, I also, had to use tissues from my handbag to give to my ex-partner. My calamari were very rubber, I ate them all, as I was very hungry :( The pasta with the octopus was delicious! The toilet is located on third floor, with the kind presence of flies, a lace curtain presumably covers the window overlooking a residential area, the sign for not putting the toilet paper in the loo is high and unfortunately, you see it after you do the business. The manager was clearly overwhelmed and busy, so please do not take my review as an allegation. My ex-partner forgot to buy me a flower and he was embarrassed to ask if he could gift me the rose in the vase on the table outside. I did it for him and the Italian Manager happily agreed :) The staff were kind and attentive, but the overall experience, does not reflect the prices. Would I return, no, and I do apologies for it, but the likes on social media does not bring the quality that you advertise <3 We do live in times, where you have to really be wise and do value for money! One of the best Italian restaurants, cosy and homely.

Do not go here. I’ve been in the past and it was good. However last night we went for my daughters birthday and took a cup cake and candles and asked them to put them on the table after the food which they did. Oh and some bloke from the kitchen sang happy birthday with a guitar which we didn’t ask for. The bill came and they had charged ten pounds for cake service. Never in my entire life has this happened. They refused to remove it. They also charged £22.00 for four limoncellos which normally are free when spending good money. Be careful what you pay for there. We won’t ever go back nor will anyone I speak to. I’ve never been so angry.

This is my favorite restaurant I’ve ever been at. The bruschetta was amazing, the carbonara was the best I’ve ever had, and the wine selection was great. I will absolutely be coming back when I’m back in London. Cannot recommend this place enough, and they have the biscuits from Ted Lasso!

A delightful meal on our first night in Richmond..at the end of a HOT London week. As well as squeezing us in, feeding us beautiful Sardinian food, treating us like family, they even sent us home with a packet of Sardi Gnocchi so I could try & replicate the meal I ate back in Melbourne.

Delicious authentic Sardinian food! Definitely recommend for a homemade intimate and cozy feel. They make the pasta in house. The service was extraordinary. Everyone was very kind and patient. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience!

Lovely location. The food was 3/10 and the ravioli was cold. After asking for a discount on the cold pasta, the head waiter was extremely confrontational and rude. Would not recommend.

Lovely little Italian restaurant. The food is unusual and very tasty. We chose the burrata and meatball starters, both were delicious. Our mains were stuffed squid and lamb ragu - beautiful ! A nice bottle of Chianti and a shared canelli for desert made for a perfect evening of relaxed dining.

This is a genuine family restaurant, run by Italians. The menu is small, but offers a lovely selection of dishes that are a bit different from the normal fare. We were well looked after by all the staff and had a thoroughly nice meal at normal Richmond pricing.

It was my first time at L'assaggino, the service was spectacular the lady and her son who were serving us recommended dishes that we should try, and they were more than happy to explain what each dish is. The pasta were delicious, we had three desserts altogether; tiramisu was absolutely stunning! Would love to come back again😊😊

Lovely Italian in Richmond. Great atmosphere and lovely authentic Italian recipes. For Ted lasso fans this is right next to his apartment and the shop that made his famous biscuits.

Loved our lunch at this little cozy restaurant. I had the pappardelle with lamb ragú which were excellent. The dessert was a very interesting Sardinian interpretation of a millefeuille cake (with Carasau bread). Quick and attentive service from the staff.
