Whilst we had an enjoyable time at The Oriel before heading to the RNLI College, I do feel that the food, although very pleasant, was overpriced for the establishment & the small portion sizes. Disappointing, we wouldn't choose to lunch there again.

Have eaten here many times over the past 14 years, customer service always really good but food was disappointing. Starters at £12.50 were very small and not particularly tasty either. Mains OK but lacked flavour. £50 per head for 2 courses a little disappointing. I'm sure it will be better next time.

Friendly helpful staff clean with a lovely atmosphere lots of gluten free options I had scrambled egg on toast was a difficult choice as they have lots of gluten free cakes.

We had a lovely breakfast and coffee here whilst on a little break away. Staff really friendly, food and drinks excellent selection.

On a pleasant Saturday evening, we visited a lovely restaurant that boasted a serene and calming ambiance, scrumptious food, and impeccable service. Despite the place being overbooked, the staff was incredibly accommodating and managed to secure a table for three adults and a little one. Their dedication and attention to detail truly made our dining experience unforgettable.

Popped by for a quick lunch as the sun was out! A great area to visit in the summer! 🌞 Food was decent and staff were friendly!

A Wow factor for sure.. again everything was tasteful delicous. Presentation makes you just want to look at the meals, our plates were clean.. and will be telling all my friends about "Oriels" the perfect place for dinner.. Thank you management.. Chefs. 5*+ Service and food.. to sum it all up we decided to say in 2 words.. "PERFECTION ORIELS".

It's a lovely little place and the food is good. The coffee on the other hand is not what I'd expect and really needs some improvement for me to keep coming back 😔

Went for lunch with a friend and halfway through eating a club sandwich noticed blood spots in the chicken then realized it was quite pink inside - this made me feel quite nauseated and worried, my friend who had already finished their food took it to the staff, they took it away and apparently said they would discount it by half as i had already eaten half...?! I asked a waitress for the bill and asked her to remove the item, it arrived and they had discounted the item by less than half and I noticed the waitress staring at me while I was reading it. I have worked in hospitality for many years and if i had potentially given a customer food poisoning I would have apologised profusely and insisted on removing the item from the bill. As it stands they would rather make you feel uncomfortable, send you away hungry and potentially ill without any apology & still charge you for the experience. Its not about the money, I said nothing and paid the bill as I wasnt about to quibble over a fiver but I was quite negatively surprised at how they treated me as a customer in this situation.

Lovely dinner - sausages and mustard mash and pizza - was just what we needed after a day in the rain. Good service and reasonable prices.

Such a little gem of a restaurant on Poole Quay - well worth a visit and good alternative to one of the many pubs in that area! Very welcoming and helpful, the staff were super friendly and the food lovely - lunch time 2 course deal for just under £15 was fresh, tasty and good portions!

I didn't eat here, but the food looked great. Only popped in for a drink. Will return though to try the food.

Great atmosphere, breakfast was delicious. Even my little one who is a fussy eater has eaten everything from her plate.

Came here for breakfast two years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. We were only just able to get in. Fast forward two years, prebooked and just as good. We weren't disappointed and were full for the rest of the day. The food is freshly cooked, and local produce is used. Staff were polite and hard working.

We had a lovely lunch. Good variety, good quality, well cooked food. We liked it so much ,decided to go for breakfast the next day, which was equally good! Also, had complimentary glass of Prosecco for two of our group with birthdays.

Always come to Oriel when in Poole, as it has exceptional staff and service. went to the Breakfast with Santa event today and it did not disappoint. Food was wonderful, service was great, and the staff really went above and beyond to make the event special for adults and children alike. Nice welcome and good service from Helene, lovely coffee, only shared a good flapjack so I can’t comment on food, but the many other clients (appeared to be locals) appreciated their breakfasts! We were having a quick coffee before visiting the red squirrels on Brownsea Island, a boat to catch.

Great restaurant on Poole Quay. Open all day for food or just drinks. Friendly staff, food always good, not overpriced for the Quay. Often have themed nights. Can book or walk in off the street.

Amazing food with separate menu for Celiac customers

We booked a table for 10 people. Staff amazing, food amazing, drinks amazing. Just fabulous. Just as it has always been.

Tried to phone up with a query about collection as they had the chicken burger online but not the steak burger but when they answered they were rude and hung up halfway through me speaking

A great spot overlooking the harbour. Very friendly staff and a great atmosphere. The menu was very competitively priced. We had lunch and had the home made fish finger sandwich, absolutely delicious followed by a delicious coffee.

Called here to have breakfast before heading back home. Great food and good quality. This is a lovely place to eat. We all enjoyed the food. Thanks guys. Highly recommended.

We’ve been to Oriel for breakfast and lunch many times over the years and it’s always fantastic, the staff are very friendly and welcoming and the food delicious. We stopped by for an early lunch and both had a baguette, my husband had the Salmon & Prawn whilst I had the Falafel & Hummus one, both served with side salad and some tortilla chips… plus we added a portion of fries. The baguettes were filled, with the filling coming out the sides with every bite, they were delicious! And the fries were perfectly crispy, all washed down with some San Miguel. To top off a wonderful lunch in the sun we were served by the amazing manager Helene, she is SO lovely and fun to be around, you can have a great laugh with her and she treats you like family, keeping us retuning. We MUST finally get round to having dinner here!

Food was superb! Fantastic food.

Chose this restaurant as it stated a gluten free menu. My daughter struggles with finding things she likes as most places are geared more towards adults. This restaurant had a great choice of pizza and pasta she was spoilt for choice, the staff were lovely. Dessert was lovely too :)

The Full English breakfast was delicious and the juice was freshly squeezed. The waiter Jess was very friendly at the same time she was meticulous to the details. She also recommended me place to go as it was my first time visiting the town.

We came here for breakfast, I was surprised at how lovely the interior was.... Kind of expecting a more cafe feel and it was more than that... Loved the murals on the walls The menu was really nice with lots of choice so something for everyone... I only had toast which was delicious but my other half had the full English... Really well presented and cooked perfectly Service was really good and great location.... Perfect start to the day

Amazing Gluten Free food, everything was superb, went there last year as-well, the food is so fresh, we shared a starter of avocado, crayfish and prawns, I had seafood risotto, amazing and my husband had sea bass , so lovely, superb., toffee and apple cake to take away.,

Nice and cosy restaurant with extra glutenfree and vegan menus. To our regret neither the glutenfree burger nor the vegan baguette tasted were well. It was dry without any sauce and very expensive, additionally. If we'd ever come to poole again we wouldn't visit again. The service was friend and excellent.

I recently visited Poole and had a fantastic lunch at Oriel on the Quay. We had prawns, mussels and lobster and everything was fresh and delicious. The location is great and they also have a nice outdoor area right beside the pier. Will definitely go again.

My business partner and I decided to give this restaurant a go last night and left disappointed. We both ordered the stir fry and the food came out far too quickly and looked like it had been sitting on a hotplate the beef was bland and leathery and unlike photos there was no garnish or any wow factor I would expect for the price. We eat out on the quay alot and was amazed that we were told we had to pay up front Not only unusual but makes no sense if we wanted to order more drinks etc No one cleared our table so I ended up clearing it myself onto another table no one asked if we wanted dessert or coffee. Not what we expected .

We ate inside , we order 3 pints san miguel was warm , no acid , staff unprofessional, i ate fish and chips the tartar sauce was maionese with black peper , unlike, someone they do some construction work inside they cut with the grinder , to much noise , We paid for nothing…..

Lovely little restaurant next to the Quay. We sat in a small section opposite the road, nearer to the waters' edge and it was lovely. Happened to be there on a Tuesday evening in the summer when they the town hosts 'Bike Night' (the road gets closed off to all traffic other than bikers and hundreds of them fill the Quay for the evening). Food at the restaurant was lovely, if a little on the pricey side but I suppose you're paying just as much for the location, as the food. Would go back again though.

A lovely little café with a really good menu and a cabinet full of cake! Also can do gluten free for Coeliacs. Always come here for lunch when we're in Poole quay. Can't fault it.

Found this gem of a restaurant purely by chance. The menu had something to suit everyone's taste. The food and atmosphere was excellent and would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Very much enjoyed stopping here for an evening meal, where the staff were good and the setting nice (special note of appreciation to the artwork on the walls). I would love to come back for a "cafe" lunch, but not so impressed as an evening meal. I feel uncomfortable saying this, other than the food was OK but not great. I will try again to see if it's just that night, or just the two meals we chose I don't believe everything can be 5*, so the way I grade might not be the same as you: 5* WOW - amaxzing, I'm going back and so should you 4* GOOD - I'd happily return 3* OK - I'd go back, if there was nothing else instead 2* NO THANKS - I'd avoid going back 1* NO WAY - Terrible, I'll avoid it and think you should too

Yet again such lovely welcome. Staff were really nice and polite. Had drinks to start with. So impressed we decided a light lunch both having a delicious soup. Rounded off with a dessert each. Oh and a brandy coffee for me ( medicinal purpose) lol. As I've said before please be nice to the staff they work their best to serve you. It was so nice would definitely return

We had a lovely dining experience at Oriel yesterday. We were a group of 8 and we were well looked after. The food was excellent and the portions were generous.

Not as good as it used to be by a long way. Menu much reduced since last visit. Food was tasty but smaller portions than previously. Pasta needed a thicker sauce and more of it. Ice-cream sundae wasn't really sundae as was Ice-cream with honeycomb chunks on it. Oriels used to be our go to restaurant, but probably won't be now.

Thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast today. Sat outside under a cloudless blue sky and the view was superb. We had the full english breakfast which at £12.50 each isn't cheap, but it was excellent, as was the cappuccino.

What a pleasant experience. The nicest food, the friendliest of waiting staff and a homely environment. We have had camembert to share followed by beautifully presented and full of taste slow cooled lamb stifado. Prices are reasonable and portions are very generous. Thanks Oriel, we will be back soon! :)

When I asked what does it mean "Fresh orange juice" as stated on the menu the waitress said it's from the box! Overpriced, basic menu, toilets needs cleaning. Won't be back. Looks like lots of fake reviews. Microwaved food.
