Pulcinella in Poole

We had a wonderful meal here on Friday night after being recommended it by a friend. They were very accommodating by letting us book last minute and squeezed us in before the rush. The food was delicious and obviously home cooked, I would throughly recommend this place to anyone wanting a meal in the Poole area.

We didn’t expect a warm and buzzy atmosphere on a wet Monday night. We were celebrating a birthday and that was the day. Pulcinella was lovely! A cosy and traditional Italian restaurant, the food was fantastic, the service perfect and the bill reasonable. We will definitely visit again.

Simple fresh tasty Italian food. Very late lunch early dinner and it was just right. Will be going back.

Great food, great service, comfortable. Busy, which meant we had a little wait for our food, but we weren't in any hurry. The linguine pescatori was incredible and all at a reasonable price.

The food was better than I expected. Reasonably priced and simple ingredients, 100% recommend coming here 👌🏽. The dessert of the day- Pistachio Panna Cotta was the perfect ending to the meal

Popped there for a quick dinner but they didn't have a table available, so I got take away instead. They have gluten free pasta available, which I appreciated as a coeliac. Very nice staff!

We have been three times now and the food has been fantastic every time. I would highly recommend the seafood pasta

I’ve just had an exquisite late lunch at Pulchinella. Scallops in a delicious mushroom wine and cream sauce and prawns with chilli and tomato sauce, substantial starters. Tagliatelle Ragu for my friend. Rose wine from Sicily and profiteroles. All I can say is that once this meal subsides I’m rushing back there again. Thanks so much and YUM.

Booked in advance a table for 14 people and was very disappointed to be sat on two sets of tables back to back,Frankly not good enough,surely we all want to be sat together,I asked the waitress if we could turn the tables end to end or put in an L shape and told No,if your not set up for larger groups,don't book them in! We didn't stay for dessert and would of had another drink or two.....The food was awesome , everybody thoroughly enjoyed it,bit of a shame we couldn't enjoy each others company.

This evening was my first time. Pulcinella is a little piece of Italy, and my new favourite place. The friendly staff create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The food is absolutely wonderful bursting with authentic flavours, and sends your taste buds into a frenzy as they jostle for position in expectation of each mouthful. Thoroughly recommended for couples and families - already looking forward to my next visit.

Food was very nice and prompt service. However it was rather cold inside on our last visit both in terms of temperature and atmosphere

I was charged £18 for two shandys which cost me £18, I was not told this by the waitress and only found out when the bill was produced. When ordering anything from them check the prices beforehand!

Been eating here since it first opened. Always been good. However last night was a huge disappointment. My wife’s main course was a pasta dish, but the onion was barely cooked and over powering! I had a Calzone pizza, which I have had many times before. It came out flat like a folder pancake. The filling was ok, but the dough was hard and tasteless! Such a disappointment. Maybe a new chef. If so he needs to up his/her game.

Having eaten in and had take away. Both times, the food has been amazing. I would highly recommend it.

I would rate this place zero but it’s appears impossible to do so. I ordered several dishes for delivery and about 1 hour later was told my order was cancelled and no reason given. This is the SECOND time this has happened. Utter waste of time. Useless.

Excellent welcome, a nice place, we felt at ease, everything was very good, I particularly liked the risotto alla pescatore.

Always ordered online before as they have the most amazing pizzas. The D and PJ franchises come nowhere near. Had the opportunity to dine in Sunday afternoon... finding out the reason why the pizzas are soooo good. Traditional wood fired pizza oven. Also had Mussels in white wine as a starter. Impressive quality and taste... Think I've found my local Italian favourite.

I was in a party of 8 on a wet Friday in December when there were two other large parties in the restaurant. I say that for context. The service was friendly and efficient and the food was excellent and pretty quick given how busy they were. Everyone in the party was happy with their food. The only issue for us was parking. There is a public car park close by but Ashley Cross was very busy and I had the last available space. Others in the part had to walk about a mile and, in fact, I gave one with a leg injury a lift back to her car. This is worth bearing in mind if you need to use the car to get there. Perhaps choose a less busy time.

Our local Italian. Had my son’s bday there last night. food is always absolutely fantastic, staff so accommodating and kind. Big big thank you to Joe that looks after us every single time we come in and makes our evenings so special!! It really feels like home there now :)

Cozy little Italian restaurant in Parkstone - tasty food, great pizza - adequate prices!

Schnitzel was ace and perfect portion wise. Pizza's base was ok and we quite like the taste. The only issue is they serve beer in small bottles and charge £££.

A lovely place tacked in a beautiful street, relaxing atmosphere and great service. The tomato soup was so lovely absolutely fantastic but the rest of the food ordered could be better, also there weren't many food options for vegetarian and vegan but they did have a non gluten pasta, there is room for improvement in terms of thinking outside the Box. For example, I ordered a salad but I'm dairy-free so the salad was provided with no salad dressing due to their options, now a simple olive oil and vinegar would be good but it was served plain, so it would be nice to tell me or offer other solutions, this to me says "we need to work more on our level of customer understanding". But otherwise, it was a lovely dinner and we hope that on our next visit the comments above will be taken into consideration.

Best calzone in town, but many other lovely dishes to try too

Went there for date night and was a last minute decision, we called to book and was the only Italian place that opened a bit late for dinner. We ordered some lovely wine and the lady let us try some samples to decide. Very friendly vibe and the decorations are on point with the Italian theme. We had a table near the entrance window. It was a hot day and the Restaurant was warm but in sure it will be amazing in the winter. The food we ordered was delicious, as a starter we had a prawn cocktail each and some mussels in a gorgeous sauce. As mains we had the mushroom and prosciutto pasta as it was very popular, but in our opinion it was quite average, in our opinion needed more flavour and a richer sauce. The dessert lemon cheesecake tasted soapy sadly. Price was fair and not too expensive for a date night. Won't be coming back but nothing wrong if you like other dishes and maybe other pasta. Just not for us.

Early lunch today.. table by the window as requested.. basically the restaurant to ourselves.. just fabulous.... as was my pizza.. very yum! Partner enjoyed his pizza too.. i brought a bit back for my brekkie tomorrow! We did eat here few times pre covid.. and was equally yum.

Went to this restaurant for our 59 wedding anniversary after researching where to go in Poole This one ticked all the boxes so booked on line from home before travelling to our hotel. What a little gem food great, service great,so if you want a great place to eat just book and enjoy

I have been to this restaurant a few times and has been one of my favourites til this weekend . I phoned to book a table of 5 and explained I had a car seat as my daughter had a new born baby . For them to say they could book me for 5 but the restaurant was too busy to cater for a car seat . Then told they would call me back in 10 mins and they didn’t bother . So if you’re thinking of taking a baby this isn’t ideal. As a business owner my self it’s very unprofessional. Won’t be recommending like I have been doing for the last 2 years !

An authentic Italian at Ashley Cross. Ordered linguine with salmon cream sauce and puddings, everything was perfect. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Love the meal and atmosphere.

Great place, a must try in Pool!! Service 10/10, Pizza 10/10, Pasta & Risotto 10/10. We've been in this restaurant twice in a row and we tried different dishes every time. All of them were really good! All the waiting staff let us feel at home! 100% recommended

The staff were attentive without being in your face. The food was well cooked, seasoned and very tasty. We had a wonderful experience at a reasonable price.

Great whitebait for starters, all cooked individually as opposed to in a clump. Seafood rissoto was gorgeous with lots of seafood. We were a party of 6, including 2 children and they were so patient with the children. Very helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble and therefore the whole experience was fantastic. Will definitely go again when in the area. Btw there is a very useful car park just behind the traffic lights on the opposite side of the road on the next block up.

Haven't been here in 18 months due to a new baby. Food is still exceptional and this is still our favourite local restaurant. Service second to none as per.

Great food!!! We have ordered linguini pescatore and had plenty of sea food and were very tasty but a bit more sauce would’ve been great… also ordered some calamari and had great taste. Staff very friendly and helpful. Definitely when we will come back and if you love Italian food this is a great place to visit. Thank you guys!!!

I am a regular and whilst the food is superb the Vongole portion is way too small for £18. Once the clam shells are removed it was consumed in 12 bites so £1.50 per bite - I felt a bit cheated!

Booked for brother's birthday meal, had never been before, only driven past on numerous occasions and always wanted to go. It's on the upper end of budgets I think but it's worth it. Food was excellent, staff very welcoming and the atmosphere excellent. We had a lovely time.

Small friendly independent Italian restaurant serving some of the best pizzas! It is so busy on Friday evenings that you have to book. Open for food Sundays, a point in its favour. Always enjoy meals at this place.

Went for my husbands 40th birthday family meal. There was 13 of us, including 5 children, one of which has food allergies. Lovely little intimate restaurant. Staff were great, very attentive and helpful. Catered to all our needs. Food was amazing! Noone had a bad thing to say about any of it (which makes a change with our family 😂) portion sizes were extremely generous. Most of us had 3 courses and numerous drinks, but it still averaged out at less than £30 per person, so very good value for money! Will definitely be back soon

Called up to enquire about availability for 2 people at about 9:45pm. It was the only place in Ashley Cross that was open and when we arrived they were so welcoming, attentive and lovely. They brought our drinks over within about one minute and the pizzas we both ordered were delicious - perfectly cooked. Our waitress was Ella and she had a wonderful personality. All of the staff are great, and very kind hearted. A lovely experience - would highly highly recommend!!

Booked a table over the phone for the dinner. Arrived on time, a friendly member of their staff asked us to pick our choice of available tables. Drinks arrived straight away, following by the delicious starters and then really tasty mains. Staff is attentive and happy to help with recommending a dishes to our preference. We went for a Saturday lunchtime and it was great. Antipasti, calamari and pizza to share. All very fresh and tasty. Lovely profiteroles and coffee for dessert. Our host was great, just the right level of attention. This will be a ‘go-back-to’ restaurant.

What a fabulous place to eat authentic Italian food. Didn't book but we were lucky as it was a Sunday evening. Very impressive range of Italian meals from Pizzas to pasta, rissoto and more. Excellent portion sizes too. Service was superb with no quibble when I asked for gluten free pasta. Will definitely be coming back

We didn’t have a reservation, but we were exceptionally fortunate to get a table. Staff were super friendly and helpful, and the restaurant has a lovely ambience. It was very busy indeed, even on a Sunday night, and after tasting the food, it’s easy to see why. Absolutely delicious does not go far enough in describing the wonderful homemade Italian fayre. The seafood was perfectly cooked, and the pasta was out of this world. Definitely book to ensure you can eat here.

Great armosphere, friendly service with the managers Italian friends wandering in for a drink and a chat!! Very authentic Italian and lovely food, if a little on the pricey side, but I suppose you have to pay for high quality, overall a fine dining experience and highly recommended!!

Update: Been quite a few times now and the food continues to be excellent! Whilst service was a little slow at times, it was still a lovely evening, so continues to be 5/5.

Definitely the best Italian I've eaten in since lockdown. Don't know too much about the management/owners but they've hit upon the right mix of price (very reasonable), & quality (very good/authentic), and so much better than the large pizza/pasta chains which swamp every high street. I liked the food and wine and want to go back again. Perhaps a revisit might even cause an adjustment to 5star status, which I wouldn't normally give following just one visit.
