Very good food, soul food and real Italian 👌 no messing about Fast service and pleasant services

It's a shame this place is usually closed when we try to go, because the one time we made it inside, it was quite nice! The tiramisu was probably the best I've ever had. On our latest attempt to go after around 2-ish, they told us they were closing in 45 minutes when Google said they weren't closing until 8PM that day. So we decided not to eat there since we didn't want to feel rushed by their cryptic closing time.

We had our Christmas dinner here again, and as always, it was outstanding. The staff were extremely friendly, attentive, and great fun. We will be back again very soon, and already, the family has voted to have Christmas day without again. Thank you for always giving us the best day. Xxx

Lovely atmosphere, great service and brilliant food.

First class experience time and time again. For years I've been visiting this magnificent restaurant due to it's most divine delicious dishes and relaxed atmosphere. An absolute gem of a place and the food is truly scrumptious!

Popped down for a work xmas lunch. It was busy when we got there but they were still prompt to take orders, serve food and drinks and did so pleasantly. We paid in several different ways with no impatience from staff. The food was great (really tasty) for everyone with decent servings and reasonably priced. No complaints, only praise for this place. Will go again.

The best Italian we’ve tried in Poole. Great food, delicious flavours, big portions, wonderful service and the best value, about half what you’d expect to pay in a typical Italian restaurant. We will be back.

The wife and I went here for a date night and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had dough balls and mushroom ciabatta to start which were delicious and then we both had Arrabbiata for main which was packed with veg and had a lovely kick to it. The service was attentive and very friendly and we found the price at the end very reasonable. We have already talked about when our next visit will be.

Competitive prices, warm atmosphere, great decor, and also greeted with a smile every time. This was bursting with flavour and freshly prepared. Considering the prices, it is the best Italian in Poole, Dorset, UK.

A really good, full pizza of very generous proportion and size. The server Evie, was so lovely, kind and attentive. All in all, a really good lunch at a way better a price than we could have imaginged. Great value, great service, great food. We'll be back. xxxxx

Beautiful courtyard to enjoy the most amazing meal. Highly recommend the scallop and prawn tagliatelle from the specials board. The garlic bread smelled wonderful from the next table and was confirmed as being the best. Hope lots of people visit because it would be a shame to lose another independent restaurant from our high street. Thank you.

Superb! Ciabatta with olive oil and balsamic to dip into for a starter, then we had the prawn and scallop tagliatelle which was exceptionally good, and a penne arabbiata which was crammed with lovely veg and I thought was going to beat me as it was so spicy, but I managed to finish it, hehehe, one of the best Italian meals we've ever had.

This was the best meal of our holiday. The Carbonarathat I had was the best I have tasted and I lived in Turin for over a year. My son had a pepperoni pizza and couldn’t finish the last slice and asked if I wanted to finish it. I was reluctant as I didn’t want to take away the taste of the carbonara from my mouth but the pizza was also delicious. The staff were very polite and friendly. If you are looking for excellent food at the best value for money in Poole then you have to try ginali’s

Walked past during a visit to Poole and we were enticed by the reasonable prices. Food was generally good. Staff were friendly. Building and dining room are interesting. Good value for money.

Not the best, me and my wife had a pasta dish, bland taste and we could not finish our meals. Asked for Pepsi or Coke, only had a type of cola on draft which was weird tasting, ironically served in a Pepsi glass! Paid and left, disappointing...

The food is always delicious and nicely presented. Reasonably priced

Really enjoyed our lunch here - especially the topped dough balls. If it's one complaint then it's that this restaurant isn't expensive enough. Charge more money - you're worth it!

Kitchen closed by 8.20 when advertised as 9pm They responded that they normally close the kitchen 8/8.30 ... doesn’t really help a couple who drove 250 mile to try a 4.9 rated restaurant... poor show in every respect. Change your opening time to reflect your acceptable business hours and stop ruining potential customers plans. Fortunately there was a great Italian 5 mins walk away who, 1 open, 2 great staff and 3 great food. The only thing this lot got right was to review their reviews.... to late.

Excellent Italian in the historic Barfoot Mansion on the high street. Beautiful shaded courtyard with lots of tables and more inside. The prices are incredible for really good fresh cooked food. Known for their seafood pasta they have great specials which change regularly. The sea bass was excellent, garlic bread to die for and a homemade tiramisu I could have eaten 10 helpings of. Staff were attentive and welcoming. Tranquil and relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend this place. Little gem.

The food was big disappointment! Everything tastes awful! If anyone has ever been in Italy would know that this is nothing like Italian food.

On holidays atm in Poole. Been walking past this restaurant daily to see when open. Last night in Poole tonight and we decided to book. Last time we were here was 4 years ago. Excellent food, excellent service, excellent price. Just excellent!! 100% better than our visit 4 years ago and that was brill. Just wish you could move to Sheffield!!

Very tasty and well presented meal. We chose from the specials at lunch time. Cost of the meals were reasonable. We recommend you eat here, we certainly will eat here next time we are in Poole.

We arrived with less than an hour before they closed, the service was attentive and friendly without being intrusive or rushed. The food was absolutely exceptional and incredibly good value for money. Sitting outside on the terrace in the sun you could almost imagine you were in Italy. Utterly delightful experience that we would definitely recommend.

Good Italian food, good sized portions at a good price... and Pizza's which'll feed two! Five of us descended on Ginali's 45 mins before closing on a Thursday afternoon, our food came out swiftly, tasted lovely with no empty stomachs remained! We noted that only half of each Pizza were eaten, so Ginali's kindly provided a takeaway box.

It's one of my favourites! Great staff always make the whole experience even better. The chef makes superb dough too, whether the pizza or dough balls, it's always yummy. Lovely building with a very rich history. Excellent value for money.

Went out of their way to make our experience fantastic. Huge portions of food, very good value and tasty. Had to take doggy bags home.

We have eaten here several times, as local to poole, we can't complain the food has always been good. The garden area at the front could do with extra care and attention by staff.

Stopped in for lunch and shared a starter and a pizza and it was lovely! The waitress was really attentive and friendly and it was good value for money! Would definitely recommend!

If you like nice food and good portion sizes at a reasonable price then this is the place for you! We were apprehensive at first as the prices were significantly lower than some of the places serving similar food closer to the harbour but only a few minutes walk away. However we were not disappointed. The prawn bruschetta came piled high with large prawns and a good sized salad on the side while my daughter's cheesy garlic bread was basically an entire small loaf smothered in fresh garlic and LOADS of cheese. The main courses were really nice and again good sized portions at very reasonable prices. The pizzas were absolutely loaded with toppings. If we lived near it would be a regular for us. Highly recommend a visit.

Great food reasonably priced. If you are visiting Poole go and eat at this restaurant you will not be disappointed. A little gem in the middle of the High Street.

The only thing I can say is omg. By far the best priced Italian restaurant I have ever been in. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Well done to the chef we had some amazing meals and it is so reasonably priced. We will definitely come back when we are back in the area.

Have been to this restaurant for many years, never disappoints.

We had a really amazing night at our anniversary meal. The atmosphere was vibrant, the restaurant was toasty and warm on a cold night, and the waitress was polite and happy despite being very busy. The prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food, which is exceptional. I ate the bread and oils, followed by the special which was spaghetti with prawns in a tomato based sauce. Everything was delicious, and my family agreed. We have met the owner's girlfriend, and she's lovely. It's a really nice local restaurant, and I would recommend it to anyone. On another note, they offer a discount to NHS employees. Those hard working people deserve all the support they can get.

Very friendly and fast service and amazing food. Myself, my partner and our young daughter all enjoyed the food and service very much. It was late afternoon/early evening so the restaurant was quiet/empty.

Food quality was beyond my expectations. I love Italian food and this restaurant ranks the top of my favourite Italian restaurant. So definitely will go back there and try the other menus.

Saturdays are for eating out, especially at lunch. Decided I would check out this restaurant, and it did not disappoint. The staff - they were polite and accommodating (even if that guy with his wife who wanted a table of 4 for a party of 2 just to be seated at the window would disagree and quickly left) The food - it is DEFINITELY value for money. If you walk in hungry, you are definitely leaving content with the portion sizes, well priced. We both had the 'Today's Special' - Salmon & Prawns Spaghetti. You can tell it was freshly caught and not pre-packed fish from the nearest ASDA. The atmosphere - it was a little dark, but I guess that's what makes up the whole ambience. Seating closer to the windows, especially in the spring or summer, would complete the feel. Of course, there are outside/garden seatings available, but the weather does not yet permit. All in all, this place 'has my heart' - Vibes 👊😎

Had a meal here before going to a gig at The Lighthouse, what an amazing meal it was! All four of us said it was one of the best we’d had in ages, certainly got value for money. Waitress was really friendly and helpful, even though she was so busy because of being on her own for a while after we got there. We’ll certainly remember it if we’re in the area again

Excellent value for money. Good sized kids meal, pleasant service, and I loved the amount of toppings on the Pizza.

The stars are for the food. Sadly we felt rushed out the door, or to be exact, told to leave at 9pm (closing time on website 9.30). We heard conversations in the kitchen at quarter past 8 from staff wanting to go home but waitress said there were still tables eating. We were hurried to be cleared away when some of our party were still eating. We were looking forward to the Pudding of the Day, until the waitress described it as 'it comes in a cup and it just goes 'pffft' on a plate!'... We were asked to stack our own plates up and while doing so were promptly handed the bill.

Never going there again. Booked table for 7.30 and was told at 8pm that our order had got lost in the system, and that the chef had closed everything down. A table of 3 came in at 8pm and their order went through, how could their order go through, if everything was CLOSED DOWN?!?!!

Lovely food with very courteous staff. I can not fault the food or service of this restaurant. We had our 2022 Christmas day, four coarse dinner at the restaurant. Fantastic value for money. More food than I could manage, beautifully cooked and presented. The young ladies serving 'front of house' worked extremely hard in a very courteous and polite manor. We had a lovely meal and will certainly do this again. Ginali's restaurant is the best restaurant in Poole town and very good value for money. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

One of the best Italian restaurants in the neighborhood. Large portion sizes, tasty food. Just avoid Potato Chips if you are like me who prefers thinner slices

I love eating on the forecourt in summer when we can bring the dog. Food is always a good standard with giant generous portions. Very reasonable bill. I wish there were more wine choices. Will be returning.

Thank you for the lovely meal! The pizza was amazing with generous sauce & meat, I enjoyed my grilled fish and that generous side of vegetables and the pasta was also great. We had starters and we loved those too. The staff were very professional and attentive. It’s reasonably priced, located on the high street not far from the station, the decor was interesting and it’s not cramped. Highly recommended.

Lovely staff and great food at a great price

Delightful food enjoyed in a comfortable, casual ambiance. Ginali's is Italian "comfort food" not fancy, but of exceptional caliber. The servers are prompt, friendly, and efficient, (our wonderful server had been with the restaurant for 11 years interspersed with global travel). My companion raved about the authentic Caesar salad, prepared with anchovies, crisp fresh ingredients, and a homemade dressing. We enjoyed lasagna that will make you want to return the next day for the same entree', and a unique, light, and flavorful calzone that was scrumptious. The desserts look AMAZING, but we had to postpone enjoying them for our next visit, as we ate every bite of our entrees. Highly recommend....

Although there were issues with the food, these were rectified and the staff and chef were very fair and reasonable in their response. The restaurant it's self is welcoming and has a nice feel to it :)

Beautiful setting. You could almost be in Italy, sitting in the courtyard, yet it is so conveniently on the High Street! Really good menu choices and very good value. I had prawn and salmon tagliatelle which was delicious. Relaxed, very friendly atmosphere and I would definitely go again!

Only one star and that is not deserved! There were several outside tables free when we arrived and we asked to put two small tables together to seat our party. The waitress was staggeringly unhelpful and said that it was not policy and would hinder access despite a large area being available to meet our request. No compromise was offered, just a stony face so we walked! Won’t try going back there!
