Nice choice of food and good price

Absolutely awful visit that was so disappointing. Family meal for a birthday and it was placed into a corner next to the kitchen - waited such a long time to be served in the end had to ask for our order to be taken. Food slow, others close by got moved due to rowdy young get together as noisy and swearing. Complained and nothing done to the extend where children were getting distressed. After nearly an hour and a half we decided to leave as we hadn’t had our main meal and as a family couldn’t hear each other speak. Left and still got charged nearly £80 for starters and drinks that were left. Wouldn’t return as the owner didn’t care as it was her family and gave excuses which didn’t justify a 4year olds birthday meal. So disappointing - it’s a restaurant not a night club !! 🤯🤔😢

Booked nearly a week and a half in advance for my daughters birthday - explained on the phone that it was for 2 children, one whose 2 and one were 4, so they were well aware there were children going to be present. We were placed in an area at the back that had barely any room to move about. Order had to be requested to be taken after 30 minutes of waiting. Over an hour and a half after arriving, we'd still relieved no main and had only had starter. We were placed next to a rowdy group of around 9 people that weren't eating and were just drinking they pushed my son in his highchair by accident but because it was too crowded and small because of the excess of people. Another couple requested to be moved, and they were, but due to our table size, we were unable to be moved. We, therefore, left as the lady we spoke to seemed to be more concerned with the drinking group than my daughters birthday meal. My daughter even said it hurt my ears, mummy! In the end, we left hungry and dissatisfied.

Good food, drinks prices slightly high imo

Table booked for 9 people for my granddaughters 4th birthday. Out outside the kitchen with a table filled with the restaurants family and friends who were drinking and were loud and using fowl language. A table of two asked to move and were moved immediately and our grandson who is 2 is autistic and was starting to struggle with the very loud noise. Upstairs was vacant and still not moved just asked to shush and when the owner walked away they started again cackling and being loud and disrespectful smirking at us. The family decided to leave after their starters. Starters wrong, over half an hour to order and an hour to starters. No interest what so ever and we left hungry and being charged nearly £80 for drinks and some starters. Absolutely disgusting and we will not be returning as it spoilt our babies 4th birthday and they just were not bothered at all 🤬🤬🤬

Rico's is a firm favourite of ours and on this occasion we booked for a surprise birthday meal for a party of 24. The communication and organisation was fantastic from first booking, to dropping our pre-orders off, the staff's attention to detail when double checking a dietary requirement, to on the actual day itself, constantly checking if everything was ok. The food was absolutely delicious as always, ranging from pizza to pasta and the focaccia sandwiches, with my 7 year old nephew declaring, 'This pizza is the best I've had, it's scrumdiddlyumptious!' The service was exceptional, and everything went smoothly for such a large party, and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend Rico's for any occasion, you will not be disappointed. Huge thanks to all the staff team, it was an afternoon thoroughly enjoyed by us all.

This Restraunt is a fantastic place for social, business or pleasure occasions. The staff are very friendly, warm and caring. The menu is very accommodating to everyone’s dietary requirements and you only have to ask the staff if you have any requirements. Heather, Kelly and the staff are very approachable all of the time. The food is always top notch

We love Ricos Tuesday night was a quiet one. We arrived as it opened but the food and service were as always welcoming and just delicious 😋 You will never leave hungry from ricos the portion sizes are large you get plenty for your buck. Lovely little restaurant tucked away in Oakwood, Leeds. Lively atmosphere and although they were undergoing a rewiring, and had Christmas lights instead of bright lights, everything was good. Service excellent and food served quickly and efficiently. Really enjoyed our evening and will be returning again soon.

Good service and atmosphere. Food not as good as previous visits. Pizza was a bit wet/sloppy and bits were falling off it. Possibly undercooked or dough too thin/both? Not sure but hopefully a one off.

Went for a birthday meal. Everything was great apart from the food been really slow. We found out later that there were staff shortages. But all the staff were extremely friendly, even brought out a portion of chips that we hadn't ordered but for my little boy. It was a birthday treat for myself so having the whole restaurant sing happy birthday was great. Will definitely go back, food was delicious, staff were amazing

The service was splendid however my starter came undercooked and cold.I don’t know who you have as a starter chef but i think it may need some reevaluation.Have been going to this restaurant since i was little and can see the standards dropping now due to the new staffing.

As I live in the area for many years I decided to treat my friend as we got into the restaurant and chose our table a voice from what seem to come from the kitchen shouted as if in a fish market, 'NO YOU CAN'T SIT THERE'. I was shocked an offended, then a woman who I assumed was the manager came out and explained that the table we chose were for her regulars who did'nt like sitting anywhere else. Thats fine, but I would have expected more professionalism. I did'nt want to stay but my friend still wanted to try the food which tbh was nice......... This could have been a one off and was quite off putting as first impressions last, but I've decided I wont be back.

We love this friendly Italian restaurant. Service, atmosphere and food are fantastic - with complementary home baked bread on arrival. A recent visit was more expensive than usual, however. I guess like many businesses they've had to put up prices to cope with escalating costs (especially drinks). £70 for 2 people: 2 bottles of Peroni beer, bottle of Merlot, 1 starter, bowl of mixed olives, 1 pizza and 1 chicken dish.

Staff were very friendly and helpful.Atmosphere was nice with no rowdy music.Menu had a wide choice.Food was served without delay and it was delicious.

Food very nice and would recommend. I think perhaps more hospitality training needed for front of house. I always tip staff but regrettably didn't on this occasion.

the waitress (didn't even tell us her Name) drop some sauce accidentally onto my friends trousers and handbag .did apologise. Didn't offer any compensation. Manager didn't look happy when we ask for more paper napkins... The waitress didnt know much about the deserts Also there is no where to hang your coats or jackets so we had to have them behind our chairs ....Also there was no lemon in the tonic water. Certainly wouldn't go back (even though it was a birthday treat for me)

So, the first issue, asking for a booking with an empty restaurant. Don't mention tap water! You get looked down on and ignored. After that, the pizza's came out within 10 minutes of ordering. Sounds great, shame the toppings came off and even a margarita pizza the toppings fell off! If you order alcohol you get offered pizza cutter, pepper and parmesan. Reasonably priced though.

me and my family have been coming here for years and love everything about it. the food is spectacular and brilliant value for money, the staff are so friendly, and the restaurant itself is a fabulous set up, we have never had a bad experience here.

Went for my 50th ordered a fillet stake and was given a sirloin by a restaurant manager who clearly knew better than me,nothing said as I was in a large party of people and didn't want to spoil anyone's night but ill guarantee I'll not return to this place,albeit the staff were very pleasant and good at their job the owner has dragged it downhill from a once brilliant restaurant

What can I say, what a fantastic evening. We have eaten here plenty of times but some friends suggested we go New years eve. Let me say I am booking for this new years eve when they open tomorrow. not going to name the staff but they were all fantastic the food was amazing and the atmosphere incredible, I have not had such a good time for years. We went for the 9.30 sitting so we would be there for the new year we lft about 2.00 am new years i believe it went on to closer to 5.00. Not sure what more to say tried two new dishes The halibut in Tarragon sauce and prawns mushrooms and tarragon both absolutely fantastic , some of our party had the smaller plates fantastic value, I just wish I could it a score of 6 have seen a couple of reviews on here with a score of 1 , I believe people like that need to stick to there Mc Donalds.

We ate here Christmas Eve.Didn't pre-book but a quick phone call and they managed to squeeze us in . I had bruschetta and other half tomato garlic bread.Garlic bread was lovely,but my bruschetta was tasteless. For mains we had lasagne and diavola pizza,no complaints there. Even though restaurant was packed,service was friendly and efficient by Heather and staff. Nice to see a local family run restaurant thriving.

So disappointed........in the area for one night, fancied a Pizza and looking at the reviews for Oakwood area we felt spoilt for choice. Unfortunately we chose wrong. I hate to be unkind, but the pizza was awful. Whilst it smelt amazing...the base unfortunately had the biscuity consistency of a bought in base, no better than a Supermarket base. Loaded with far too much topping, so impossible to eat without a knife and fork.....and after a few minutes a pool of grease lay on top of the topping from the cheap cheesy topping, we gave up halfway through our pizzas. I really wish 'authentic family run Italian restaurants' would make clear that their pizzas aren't cooked in a wood fire oven and that their pizza bases are not freshly made.

Nothing is too much trouble here. The meal was excellent and the service Thank you!

This is a lovely restaurant with friendly staff you can have some craic with. The food is plentiful and delicious and you can have a very generous 'half portion' if you are on a diet or not too hungry. The atmosphere is convivial and cosy and altogether ours was a very enjoyable experience.

Awful, Awful service ! I’ve lived nearby for years and finally decided to try the food.I would give a -5 if I could. From the moment we entered we were treated with a scowl. Hadn’t even opened the menu yet and we were asked what we’d like to drink. We said we needed some time. Nobody came back to us. They served everybody around us. We eventually decided to leave because it didn’t look like we were going to be served.When we got up to leave she had the nerve to look shocked. Will not recommend or return. Very disappointed as the reviews painted a different picture.

The owner doesn't think health and safety or the law apply to her. She's putting people's lives at risk by having an unsafe ramp. Not only is it incredibly steep to the point of being unusable with out help and potential injury but it slips off the step as it's not anchored. The owner however told me to my face she won't get a ramp that is safe or one that meets requirements because she purchased that one 25+ years ago and isnt bothered what the law says now

This has to be the best Italian in Leeds. Fantastic food, a brilliant selection great service and reasonable prices - and you get free homemade bread on arrival. The starters are massive and the pizzas are amazing. Five stars.

Found this little local beauty of a restaurant when looking for one of them hearty Italian moments and Rico’s hit the spot. Our server Kelly was great and the food definitely satisfied our cravings. Definitely recommend the ribs and seafood linguine!

Lovely relaxed trattoria type Mediterranean restaurant. Great menu with huge choice - and equally large portions! Very welcoming and friendly team and the food is excellent, and very good value. Half portions of pasta are available! There are booking restrictions, but they work hard to fit you in. The cosiness is part of the charm of the restaurant. Thoroughly recommended.

Was in Leeds for the weekend visiting my son and his partner. Rico's Restaurant was recommended to us. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious and fresh. The staff were very attentive (especially Ben) will certainly return when next in Leeds.

The grand finale was the amazing Heather & Ben doing a Mexican dance on the table , it was brilliant , thought Heather was going to do a flip flop ! Great team & you’ll have lots of fun there. We have been to Rico’s a few times now but not for a while. I live down south and am up visiting family that live in Oakwood. The 7 of us booked lunch yesterday including my 2 children. The service was amazing. Ben was our waiter and listened patiently as we all tweaked our orders & changed our minds a few times. He was polite and professional and enjoyed a good laugh with us all. The food as ever was amazing. My uncle had the fillet steak which was cooked to perfection (steak can be so difficult to get right) I had the grilled salmon insalata and the salmon was delicious. Both kids had pizzas off the children’s menu and the portions were huge! They loved them! My parents both enjoyed a glorious lasagne! Thank you Ben for looking after us so well & we look forward to coming back in for another lovely meal again when I’m next visiting 😀

I will never visit a different Italian restaurant in Leeds. Heather and her team are the best hosts we could ask for and the food is second to none! Me and friends visit Rico’s at least twice a month and have never been disappointed. I couldn’t recommend Rico’s enough to anybody looking for a brilliant Italian restaurant. Love Shaun & Kian x

Family had been in Leeds all afternoon & decided to eat out. Rico's had the usual lovely food and atmosphere. Great friendly service - what more is there to say, apart from there is plenty of parking in the area.

We’ve been coming here for the best part of 20 years. Heather and her team are always warm and welcoming and the food is always delicious. Would definitely recommend!

Local Italian which caters well for the local neighbourhood. Child friendly and relaxed. Tasty starters, Pizza, pasta and mains. You might not travel miles to visit but if you live locally and can trot down the road it's a great place to visit. Busy at weekends, especially if you want a family table

I stumbled across Rico's a couple years ago and since then it has been my Italian of choice. Front of house is super friendly, they make you immediately feel welcome into their home. The menu is large but it is all wholesome Italian food, each time I go I order something different and never been disappointed. Top tip is to make sure you leave space for dessert!

Ridiculous service, never come back again

This place has a very good reputation locally and was really busy for early on a Sunday. Service was friendly and efficient. The food, however was a mixed bag. Calamari was made from a tough, rubbery old bit of squid, and was quite unpleasant. Me and my eldest daughter couldn't eat it. My youngest didn't seem to mind though. Focaccia simply wasn't focaccia in any accepted sense of the word but I see from other reviews they have their own definition. Pasta mains were fine though one came out bubbling and sizzling, clearly fresh from the microwave. Daughter loved her pizza.
