The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving Italian food

We had a group of six and when we arrived at the restaurant in the late afternoon, it was nearly empty. We had no reservation but decided to try it based upon other favorable reviews. The staff sat us in a corner near a door on a very wet & chilly Liverpool afternoon. A few of the ladies were cold and when we asked to be moved, the female employee was not receptive to our request. Smile a little, you work in the service industry. After finally being moved to a warmer part of the restaurant and ordering, the pizzas arrived completely black and burnt on the bottom of the crust. We said something to the waiter and asked him to tell the chef, but he just laughed it off as if we were joking. Another member of our group ordered the Risotto which she said was bland and dried out, almost to the point of being inedible. She only ate a very small part of it. None of us would return to this restaurant. There are too many other options in Liverpool and if the weather was better on this day we might have ended up somewhere diferent.

The starter wasn't nice at all. The ham wasn't nice at all and the main wasn't much better I hate to complain. So we just paid and left. The staff kept forgetting the cutlery when bringing our food and just wasn't very friendly. Complete same as it was for our anniversary

The chips are not fresh they seem to be from yesterday

Rubbish, got to front of Q, to be told 10 minute wait. After 15 mins, was then told another 15 before taking any orders. Asked him why the couldn’t have been truthful, he just told me “I’m telling you now, if you don’t like it leave.” So; terrible service and customer relations. Now; I design apps for takeouts and they have had a flood of takeaway orders so have taken a dump on the folk waiting and prioritised the online business.

Guy who greeted us was lovely and seemed to do everything! Food choice adequate. Ambience clean, but lacking in atmosphere. Food dry and bland, lack of sauce with all the meals, no hint of fresh food ingredients. I can make better at home. Will not be back or recommend

We stumbled upon this place in a rush before going to a gig at The Mechanics, what an wonderful surprise when we went inside. Beautiful decor and the staff were so attentive. We both ordered the Sunday roast beef which was the most beautiful roast dinner we have ever had! Such a shame we had to rush it as we were late for the gig. We will definitely travel back from Yorkshire to come back.

Me and my mother went here today and my god it was absolutely beautiful the bread is unreal the service is great and very friendly staff I had the rustico tagatelie the sizes are perfect just enough and the tirumasu is highly recommended will definitely be back (probably every week)🤣great food great atmosphere great service and overall great place

What a place! An Edinburgh institution that has great food, delightful staff and a wonderful atmosphere. Pizzas, pastas, salads and loads more made a Monday evening meal one to remember.

We had lunch here today and it was faultless! The food was brilliant. The staff are attentive, knowledgeable and very friendly. A special thanks to Ramona for making our afternoon so enojoyable. We will be back again soon!

Visited Botteginos today, the food was lovely, hot and brought out quickly. The vegetarian options are good although maybe some pizza choices with different cheeses on (goats, blue etc) may give the options a bit more of a variety. The kids menu was good and it seemed nothing was too much trouble. Our waitress was Rimi and her attention to detail was brilliant. She ran around for us and made us feel like we were the only table in the restaurant, even though it was busy. She even realised it was my birthday and got the rest of the staff to unexpectedly sing to me. So all in all, the food was delicious and the service was 10/10. Thank you. We will return.

Food was banging new restaurant looks great and our waitress Lacey was very helful and attentive.

Have been going to Nonna's in kirkintilloch since it opened. First time we've been disappointed !! Ordered a Share. Pizza arrived without the two extra toppings ordered. Pretty sure it came back reheated 🤪 although they insisted it wasn't. Soggy and slimmy got to be the worse Pizza we've eaten. as for the meatballs least said the better. Have spoken to friends who were there the same night three if the six were equally disappointed. Certainly not the usual standard at Nonna's although to be fair they reduced our bill but would rather have paid full amount and received a first class meal. Hoping there was an unforeseen problem in the Kitchen but certainly way short of expectations.

Great food, fun and friendly staff. Would recommend.
