Civerinos Slice in Edinburgh, City of

Rubbish, got to front of Q, to be told 10 minute wait. After 15 mins, was then told another 15 before taking any orders. Asked him why the couldn’t have been truthful, he just told me “I’m telling you now, if you don’t like it leave.” So; terrible service and customer relations. Now; I design apps for takeouts and they have had a flood of takeaway orders so have taken a dump on the folk waiting and prioritised the online business.

DELICIOUS! The pizza had a nice thin crust. I was bummed they were out of the Detroit style slice I wanted but that just told me it must've been really good to be out by dinner time. We ordered their margarita-style pizza, a slice of spicy pepperoni, a slice of the Italian sausage/burrata, and garlic crust bites. We got it to go, so it was a bit cold by the time we made it home, but still delicious. Would love to go back and eat there if I ever got a chance. There were a lot of people there and a line for takeaway, and I can see why. Even though it was so busy, they still got our food out to us pretty quickly. Great spot for an easy, comfort meal. Everyone we interacted with from their staff was super kind. Not saying it was the best pizza of my life but boy did it give my top spot a run for its money.

THE STAFF IS INCREDIBLY RUDE Pizza was ok, even though the price is a bit high for what you get. But, I understand why the charge those prices based on geographical location and online popularity. However, the worst part about the place is clearly the staff. The guy who first served us brought us dirty glasses for the water, that I didn't drink. Than, the pizza comes on paper plates so there is no dish washing. And the seating is crammed. Personally I don't think a place like this deserves to charge a 10% service charge. When I asked for it to be removed from the bill the waiter become rude, snatched the receipt out of my hand and walked away. Came back and slammed the receipt on the table, than after paying I realise I have been overcharged as we ordered a margherita and got charged for a Pepperoni. These mistakes shouldn't happened especially when the place is quiet, but clearly the waiter couldn't care less. Hope they get off their high horse and start running the business the same way they did before the tiktok fame.

The saltiest food I have had for some time. Borderline inedible take out pizza and fries. Very disappointing as the fries in particular were very good last time we sat in. Somebody put the salt grinder away!

In the top 5 pizza of my life ! Really liked the buttermilk fried chicken ! The italian sausage, pepperoni was a bit blend compared to the chicken because of the lack of mozzarella but still really good !

Discovered this place as we were walking and super starving! Place was busy so we ate outside and just got a slice of pizza each! The best pizza I have ever tasted plain pepperoni but the flavours were so mouthwatering

Very tasty pizza. I never thought I would find such delicious pizza in Edinburgh. Had “a piece” of Magaritha which is actually almost half. Definitely recommended.

Very good pizza. When you get the pizza in the restaurant, there is no slice. Don't wait outside, let yourself be staked out in a crowd. They're all waiting for the out-of-home orders.

Menu has a good selection of pizzas. We went for margarita and Italian sausage, both very yummy and served very quickly. Service was good, although did have to queue outside for approx 10 minutes before coming inside for a seat.

It took ages to get my pizza, and I somehow saw couple of people who came after me getting food earlier. It doesn’t quite make sense and disappointing. Awful experience would not recommend.

Been here twice now. From London visiting Edinburgh. Fantastic spot. Pizza is great every time. Good selection of decent beers too. Great vibe & atmosphere with friendly staff. Love this place

Good pizza, but the waiting staff are quite incompetent, it's as if the manager just grabbed some random hungover students and put them on the shop floor without training them properly

We came in as first time customers and we ordered with the worker. After 30 minutes of waiting we noticed that people who came and the same time or after us were served with their order and we were just thinking “maybe they are just really busy” because it was busy. When we asked about our order we found out that they hadn’t put our order in. We had a a lot of work to get through that day and waiting for 30 minutes for nothing was a complete waste of time. It took 10 minutes for our order to come after asking the progress of our non-existent order.

Super great pizza. Ordered full pie rather than by the slice as was told incorrect information re discount online. Also very long wait at lunchtime (told to come back in 40 mins time). Food is great though, dough balls are a good side option and very generous with portion sizes. Right next to meadows which is very convenient on a nice day.

Yesterday I ordered a slice of pizza and ended up waiting in cold , rainy weather for 20 min. People who ordered before us finished their meal before we had to mention we were still waiting. After asking our name for the order, they came back and did not even know we ordered.. No apology was given, we couldn't wait for it any longer.

The employees are inexperienced and far from the service sector. We couldn't stay long enough to eat. Because we were turned away from the door. We couldn't even stay inside to get a package done because we were literally pushed to the door.

Ordered online, food was freezing cold. Phoned store basically told me not their problem. Manager spoke over me the whole time. First and last time I use this restaurant. £26 fir cold pizza

Was great and not too long of a wait considering it was very busy. But there was pieces of pepperoni on our margerita pizza and me and my partner are vegetarian.

We visited Civerinos in Edinburgh and had one of the best pizza experiences ever! We ordered the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Pizza and the Italian Sausage Pizza, and both were absolutely delicious. The crust was perfectly crisp, the toppings were generous, and the flavors were spot on. The Buttermilk Fried Chicken Pizza was the highlight for us—crispy, tender chicken with just the right amount of seasoning, paired with the perfect cheese and sauce combination. Every bite was bursting with flavor! The Italian Sausage Pizza was also fantastic, with rich, savory sausage and a beautifully balanced tomato base. Their truffle & garlic aioli was so good—seriously next-level! It added such a rich, indulgent touch to everything we dipped into it. The atmosphere was vibrant, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. If you’re in Edinburgh and craving top-tier pizza, Civerinos is a must-visit!

Went to Edinburgh for NYE in 2024 and got this recommendation from some friends. I love Italian food so i was really excited. We ordered some starters, puzza and pasta.The food was so delicious .. the sauce on the pizza was so tasty! Highly highly recommended!!!

Amazing pizza at a reasonable price, portions are massive and you more than get your moneys worth , staff are all super nice and accommodating, we accidentally ordered a pizza to share that my my partner disliked and they gave her a fresh slice on the house. Couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough.

Me and my friends last night (Thursday 21st) went to grab some food in evening, the pizza was lovely great flavour and good price, couldn’t fault it. However my time there sat inside was appalling , the more I sat there the more annoyed I was with the servers. There was 3 on shift all girls with one girl finishing at around 7-8 as I saw her leave leaving 2 on shift. Bear in mind they add service charge to the bill when there was barely any service being done. The only thing they did was hand up pizza, everything else I had to ask and get their attention because with no exaggeration they stood at the screen where they put through the order and just chatted the whole time without a care in the world. It was truly disgraceful, they did not once look around and see if customers were okay and needed anything as we had to wait to get their attention several times and even for the bill we had to wait ages to catch their attention. And when we did so and asked to give us a second to split the spill, the girl went to straight back to speaking to the other girl on shift and we had wait another 10 mins until my friend turned around and asked if we could pay. We still ended up paying the service charge as a waiter myself I know tips are a big part of hospitality, however they were not deserving for it at all.

Just wanted to shout out whoever picked up the phone last night. Accidentally ordered to the wrong branch on Deliveroo and a helpful chap on the other end of the phone managed to get the order moved. Really appreciated that bro.

Probably the worst pizza I have ever eaten. Ordered via Deliveroo and it was delivered cold, and for £17 (margarita plus two toppings) it was really, really bad value with barely any topping. I have had a Civerinos before and the pizza was good but this was a joke.

Food and service very good but BEWARE!!!! Toilet is absolutely disgusting. 1 toilet for all. Visited today with 2 small children who were told by me not to touch anything here. Floor swimming in urine. Sink blocked with water. Plastic bowl catching excess water from cistern. Had the kids not been desperate to use the toilet, we would have left and gone elsewhere. Such a disappointment as the owners are well know to Edinburgh social media. To allow this establishment get into this state is beyond belief!!!!

I loved my experience at Civerinos! I stumbled upon them while walking around Edinburgh and I could see why they were so popular as soon as they opened their doors. I ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza and loved it. The portion was generous and very tasty.

The 20" pepperoni pizza was great!!! JUST LOOK AT HOW PERFECT IT IS!!! 😌😌 Tastes just as good as it looks. Would definitely come back for more. ❤️❤️

Pre-ordered a pepperoni pizza and requested for it to be cut in the order notes. Arrived on time for my collection only to have to wait at the door while the staff at the counter sat on their phones, even after ringing the bell by the door, and they didn't even bother to cut the pizza. The pizza itself was fine. A bit overpriced for what I'd comfortably pay for it. Customer service needs work, especially when you give customers a specific timeslot for collection, it's not like I was stopping by unexpectedly.

The pizza crust was completely burnt, almost like charcoal, and the chicken toppings were seriously overcooked. The fries were poorly fried, likely thrown into cold oil, making them soggy and unappetizing. More than half of the food went straight into the trash. I reached out to the company via email before posting this, but it seems like customer feedback doesn’t matter to them at all.

Bought a Margherita slice. Tasted amazing! The service was excellent, everything was perfect. If you want a bite of great pizza, this is the place to go!

Excellent pizza. Obviously you cannot expect Neapolitan pizza but the classic pizza that you can eat abroad cooked in a wood oven. It's not heavy but very tasty. Young and friendly staff.

I love Civerinos. Unfussy pizza by the slice in a really chilled environment. I think most people go for the NY style (Slices and full 14" and 20" pizzas) and I get that but I really like the Detroit style slices they offer here. The double pep is a belter. Great place to have a quick bite. The menus vary by site so check them out, I've only been to the Forrest Rd branch.

Was there 6 months ago, got slice of margarita burn from bottom and top. I give them a chance today.... got myself slice of triple margarita....I do not fancy cold mozzarella and parmesan. Base was heavy like it had half kg of flour in it. Great service and lots of " cold " cheese, that's the stars. I MUST SAY I FEAL LIKE THIS IS REVIEW OF SLICE PIZZA you guys sell. I still hope you are better with large pizza. I stopped buying full sizes pizzas from you a couple of years ago. Meybe if you don't wonna put some love in to slices ... just don't advertise and don't sell them.

The food was so delicious! there were four of us, and we ordered some garlic balls, two 14" pizzas (Double Pepperoni and Mushroom), and some canned drinks. The waiting time wasn't long as we've waited outside for around 10 minutes and inside for around 15 till me got our food. I'm very satisfied with staff members very polite, understandable and most importantly happy :). I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Had to visit Civerinos to get their giant mozzarella stick as seen on Food Review Club! Was quick to be seated and food was served quite quickly - we only wanted a light snack so didn’t opt for the pizza but based on the number of take away orders, the pizzas must be decent! Would visit again just for the giant mozzarella stick! The mac and cheese balls were decent too - perfect during the cold weather.

The service and atmosphere were amazing, with all the staff dressed up in cool clothes and accessories! The food was alright, good but nothing too special. There was also a short hair in my food that i found on my last slice 😅 Hope that they can improve on hygiene levels - making sure everyone including the guy chefs wear hairnets or something haha!

Yesterday I ordered 2 Pizzas and inadvertently chose the pick up option with Deliveroo. When I noticed I decided to drive and pick it up myself. Minutes later when I tried to check the update, it said it had been picked up with out me even leaving my front door. I had already been charged for the Pizzas and after contacted deliveroo they said they couldn't help as it said a completed order and staff should have checked order details before handing over the pizza. I feel someone messed up and I paid for it. No one picked up the phone after I tried calling multiple times for an explanation. I'm just really sad, I like Civerinos a lot and so far had a great experience in their other locations as I support local businesses. Hopefully management will look into this.

Every now and then you find that absolute jewel of a place and for us this was it. The food was out of this world and served by staff who obviously enjoyed what they do, all rolled up in such a relaxed fun vibe. Do not miss out on dining here as it will be an experience you will talk about for ages.

Una delle pizze più buone mai mangiate, quella che ha colpito di più me e il mio ragazzo è stata la New York slice e quella da 14” (penso che l’impasto sia pressapoco lo stesso). Ottima la margherita e la pepperoni, può fare concorrenza a delle pizzerie italiane (ovviamente si tratta di un’altra tipologia di prodotto, e a chi in una recensione precedente ha scritto che il miele nella pizza è immangiabile consiglio un corso di inglese così che la prossima volta quando vedrà scritto honey tra gli ingredienti potrà non ordinarla, non facciamoci riconoscere grazie). Ci è piaciuta così tanto che abbiamo girato tutte le sedi, anche a Glasgow, le più buone erano quelle di Stockbridge e quella di Portobello Beach, tra l’altro qua il ragazzo è stato carinissimo e ci ha offerto anche una slice. Anche il prezzo per la Scozia è onestissimo.

Nice restaurant with delicious pizza. Prices reasonable for Edinburgh. Unfortunately it was a bit cramped and very crowded in the evening! Unfortunately the toilets were dirty.

Food is very tasty, the 'restaurant' has a decent range of pizzas (nothing too special but it's solid), and the portions are very good. Truffle fries are very tasty and you get loads of them. Definitely worth a try if you are looking for a simple and quick food stop.

Keywords: Customer Insensitivity Potential Racism After a hectic day at college, I happened to visit this small eatery called Giverninos which apparently has a good rating. After a few minutes of waiting outside, I was greeted by a staff who enquired what I’d like to have to which I responded by saying that: I’d like to have a slice of margarita pizza. She took my order for a small pizza and asked me to wait outside which I found rude and unwarranted because I was seeing that everyone was being offered a place inside. When I asked her concerning why I wasn’t offered a place, she bluntly said that “ I assumed you wanted takeout.” This is peak poor customer needs evaluation. Is this how you treat international students? That’s very racist I should say. I think the organisation should give staff some cross cultural training and etiquette. After all, every customer brings profit to you- big or small and your salaries are literally dependent on every pence a customer brings in. So, it would be better to take such sensitive things into consideration while conducting business! Extremely disappointed!!

Easily the best vegan pizza I've ever had. Shared a 14" and a portion of fries, be aware the portions are quite big. very much recommended. Cost just over £25 for the two of us.

The slimiest pizza !!!! Like eating slugs 🐌 Both of us agreed this was the worst pizza we’ve ever had, even worse than 99p freezer pizza. Also there was only ONE veggie option left, not even a margarita. Disappointing all round. Best avoided.

Start from the main - don't repeat my mistake don't order Italian Sausage pizza 🍕 Now , overview: one of the busiest pizza bar in town, where you may take a slice of Juicy pizza for takeaway. We had a chance to sit inside. Pizza looks so nice, so slim and really Juicy and it's become a problem coz to eat it - you need to roll it first. Next flavour - too much Italian spice's, too much herb and other things which are supposed not to be there. Mb I'll back to try something else from menu, but 100% not Italian Sausage 🥲

Strongly recommend the spicy salami pizza, absolutely delicious. The 20’’ was amazing for 3 people, 2 if you’re very hungry. Good service generally. Only downside was that we asked for crispy onions on the side, it wasn’t brought to the table. We were then told that they don’t serve them on the side, only on the pizza, but it wasn’t added to ours. However they refused to remove the item from the bill because the manager claimed they onions were added. According to our photo they weren’t, but we were not going to start a fight over 1.5 pounds.

Food was decent for lunch. The giant mozzarella stick is OK but they do not offer or have any marina sauce for dipping. The margherita pizza was just cheese with a basil leaf. Garlic and parm fries were pretty good.

i will never financially recover from this pizza. ..........Like tell me why a medium sized pizza was £18 when my friend got a slice for a few quid that was half the size of my whole pizza..........

Honestly one of the highlights of my trip to Edinburgh. The Italian sausage and deep dish pizzas were especially excellent. Staff are super friendly.

A bit of unusual format (those ordering takeaway can eat at tables outside) but once it's explained by a patient hostess and you get table it is all great. Pizza a fantastic and service is excellent. Thank you team!

Entré a tomar un bocadillo rápido, acabo de coger una rodaja de la margarita. Realmente estaba llenando, aunque creo que dos al menos sería mejor si vienes aquí con el estómago vacío. El precio también era bastante bueno.

Just to say thanks to the staff in the Edinburgh shop last night, there was a small mix up with my order near closing and they were about to shut without getting my order to me, one of the girls on shift offered some alternatives or a refund which I accepted but then also made sure I got a pizza to take home, really appreciated that and the pizza was lovely, thank you!

I am from the east coast of USA and can honestly say Civerinos had better NY style pizza than most pizza places in NYC.

El hijo de mi amigo me recomendó Civerinos, fuimos el sábado a comer durante el festival era una larga cola para llevar pero para sentarnos esperamos menos de 10 minutos, esta pizza es tan bonita y las porciones son masivas, comimos una porción de papas fritas y dos rebanadas de pizzas y chapuzón de ajo... eso fue más que suficiente para 3 de nosotros incluyendo un estómago vacío niño de 12 años

Photos don't do the size of these pizza slices or the portion of fries justice! When they arrived my friend said "that slice is literally half your body" and it actually was (didn't stop me from eating the whole thing though) Can't complain about the size or the flavour - the first bite was heavenly. The fries were addictive and we scranned the whole lot happily - plenty of garlic & parmesan on there. All that plus a drink for £10.34, great prices for Edinburgh City centre. Super busy being Fringe season, first come first serve for a table but we were literally waiting two minutes. Really friendly staff. Our food came within 5 minutes of being ordered, so super fresh & tasty. You can see them making the pizzas from scratch which I love for the authentic vibe. Can't fault - my favourite pizza place in Edinburgh! A MUST VISIT.
