New favourite lasagne place! Rich, colourful and tasty. I had a taste of the salad but will save it till later - it was fresh, colourful and healthy. the chianti just complimented everything. I look forward to trying all the different pastas here in future!

10'' pizzas were a bit small. Checked them and they barely made 9''. Other than that the food was ok

First ordered from Veloce last weekend and I enjoyed the food so much that I ordered again less than a week later. Both times I chose the chicken pesto genovese. Pesto is a favourite of mine and the dish from here is particularly good. Generous serving as well, enough for two portions easily.

Food was poor. Missing salad. Cold / chewy by the time it arrived. Delivery time continued being pushed later and later. No way to contact the restaurant.

Gluten free pizza was very basic. Tasted bought in.

Last two pizzas from Veloce have been a bit disappointing. Quiet doughy and a bit undercooked. Wasn't terrible but definitely didn't enjoy

The food is amazing quality however I’m so disappointed because I paid for two carbonaras and only one came and there is no contact details for this restaurant. So I wouldn’t be ordering from here again unless there is contact details provided.

Recommend. Nice food, pasta kept hot till I finished and I am a slow eater. Will go back to taste more. Only problem was they forgot the coleslaw ... Which was ok as full and got refunded. Really enjoyed the pizza, as usual. Minor complaint would be the slight burnt taste on the base. Pretty sure it had been taken off the pizza tray and placed back in oven to finish on the stone? Chips were amazing too, unsure why they're only vegetarian, hoping it's due to other non vegan food being fried in same oil

The pasta at this place is delicious, so fresh and the portion are very generous. Will definitely be ordering from here again.. I would highly recommend this place if you want a freshly made pasta

We ordered a pizza and large fries, these took a very long time to arrive with no explanation until I took to ‘google chat’ to challenge the restaurant about their delivery. The toppings were flung on/chunky and cheap, and at £1.50 extra per topping you would expect quality. This was made worse by the fact everything was glued to the lid of the pizza box thanks to the delivery guy mishandling our food. The four cheese pizza was flavourless and even worse were the ‘large fries’ barely enough to serve two and without a hint of the Parmesan, only a sniff of truffle oil and no more. For the price you expect something better, we were horribly disappointed and frustrated with this service. I would not order here ever again. Trying to support local rather than the big chains and receiving what we did is diabolical. At least you know what you’re getting with dominos.

I placed an order for the first time. We normally order from Matto and decided to try somewhere new. I was quite disappointed. Despite living less than ten minutes from the restaurant, the food was only just warm. The Parmesan chips were inedibly soggy and our tiramisu was not delivered at all. I tried phoning - no pick up; Facebook messenger - no reply; email - address not in use. Really annoyed to have wasted money and had no ability to rectify the order.

Welp that was the most orange and cheddary mozzarella I've ever encountered. Tomato sauce on the pizza was decent enough and the base was delicious. But the cheese has set and it was cold. Chips were stale and refried too. Free mayo dip was nice but it was a bit gelatinous.

Pizza dough was delightful, would opt for less cheese next time though. No idea where the delivery driver was going but he told bit of a detour

So I've ordered 2 pastas today by deliveroo paid £1 4-something and tbh both went to the bin. The smell and the taste was absolutely disgusting. Maybe use new fresh cream bcz the pasta tasted horrible stinking like old smelly socks literally!! Portions OK but that's all. Very disappointed.

I've had pizza twice here, and thoroughly recommend it. Lovely crisp base. Delicious toppings. Definitely worth sitting in and enjoying.

Food was fine, unfortunately this Italian eatery didn't live up to its name with regards to the speed, it was very busy all things considered the day we went, but over an hour for a plate of salad and chips is quite a long time. Perhaps stick to quieter times of day if you want to eat in.

Al ser intolerante con el trigo y las lecherías, puede ser bastante difícil encontrar una buena pizza para llevar. No hay problema, puedes decidir qué quieres en tu pizza. Su masa sin gluten es, con diferencia, la mejor que tuve en un restaurante / lugar para llevar donde generalmente saben a cartón o simplemente no se parecen en absoluto a la textura de una base de pizza. Muy buen servicio al cliente también (¡muy italiano!). Muy recomendable.

Si te encuentras en Edimburgo, haz de esto una parada en tu itinerario. ¡No te decepcionará!

Rapido, bem apresentado,garçons educados. Meu prato foi polpetone veloce. O macarrao de alho e oleo podia ter mais alho. Estava sem graça. Os outros pratos estavam bons.

Nos alojamos en un hotel a la vuelta de la esquina y decidimos comer aquí, nos gusta la comida italiana (¿qué puede salir mal?) Y tenían buenos precios. ¡Y fue la mejor opción! El lugar era acogedor, ordenado, la comida era excelente, con una gran selección. Pero lo que más nos gustó fue el dueño que nos atendió, muy acogedor y amable. Decidimos regresar más tarde después de nuestro día en la ciudad para tomar una buena pasta y un poco de dolce porque ¡se ven tan sabrosos!

Found this wee restaurant more by accident than design. Friendly welcome from staff - service was good - menu was simple but some good choices. The food was well prepared and very tasty - I think it would help the restaurant if they were to do a wee bit of basic decoration and possibly replace the furnishings but, overall a very enjoyable meal

This restaurant doesn’t look much from the outside, but boy it definitely delivers with the food. We started with arancini and bruschetta. Initially confused why there was a (1) next to the arancini on the menu, but when it came out about the size of a large orange, (1) was more than enough for a starter. Accompanied but a really nice tomato sauce and some salad began well. The bruschetta was good enough but not really anything special, some tomatoes and oil on the bread. The mains were delicious however. The pasta had by two members of our party (different dishes) had really lovely sauces, both very tasty and fully flavoured. I had the calzone, which was a completely traditional affair, a really cheese filled inside and some nice meat, with the final member having another perfect pizza. Really recommend this place, however only 4 stars out of 5 because it is a BYOB situation. Whereas a few well chosen wines would have been perfect.

Simple surroundings, very clean. The chef didn't have my menu choice so made me a bespoke meal "bacon Caesar salad" very tasty! Plus bruschetta, Carbonara and 3 San Pellegrino soft drinks. All for less than £20. No complaints

Food was overpriced and poor quality. Staff looked lost. Waited 20mins on a roll on sausage and a bacon and egg roll. 1 and a half sausages on a roll, and 1 rasher of bacon with an overcooked egg. Shocking.

Veloce is mainly a takeaway but has a few tables in the back. They don't have a huge menu but what they offer is simple but good. Cost is a lot cheaper than many higher end Italian restaurants but the food is better than most Italians I've tried. Sure it's probably not a first date sort of restaurant but if you want great value, tasty quality food then you won't go far wrong.

Proper Italian food, prepared by proper Italian chef. This place has become my regular when in Edinburgh. I get a good bottle of wine at the Co-Op, it's BYOB, and always share a glass with chef. His passion for food and knowledge would not be out of place in an up-market restaurant charging two or three times the price.

The food here is great and the atmosphere is modern and totally Italian. The aubergine parmigiana is absolutely fabulous and I would eat one every day if I could.

I have ordered from this place many times but tonight was abysmal! Firstly I ordered a carbonara for my husband which turned up looking like scrambled egg, I then ordered a sticky toffee cheesecake for my husband to which they sent a banoffee cheesecake and for myself a mint chocolate milkshake which was purely just chocolate. When we called the shop to question these things we were told “carbonara is always like that” , “ we had no sticky toffee so just sent that one” .. my husband is allergic to banana!!!!!!! An awful attitude when there’s is clearly many mistakes, will not order again and will make sure not to recommend to anyone like I previously would have. Appalling!!!!

Simple mais efficace. Street food italienne, pâtes ou pizza. Prix raisonnables et produits qui semblent de bonne qualité. Ok avec un chien calme. Attention les prix en façade sont à emporter, c'est un poil plus cher sur place.

For those visiting Edinburgh and are staying nearby this place is reasonably priced for food. I hear their pizzas are great except We opted for pasta here. We dined in - wasn't busy at the time. One other table was there when we arrive. Service is slow - had to go to the counter to get someone to take our order. Food came out pretty fast. Very simple recipes. I could see the pasta being cooked from a tin of tomato puree. Lack of herbs and no parmesan either. It was edible but nothing amazing if you're expecting more. It is cheap and cheap is what we got.

We went last night just after opening time as we heading to a concert at Murrayfield and gave ourselves plenty of time for the type of meal we were having. We were first in. We enquired if it was table service and we were told yes. After waiting a while no one came to the table, so we ordered our pizza’s at the desk, with whom we learned later on it was with the ‘Manager’.

Where do I start? Went in here on Bank Holiday Monday, May 27, 2019, for breakfast around 11am as it looked quiet. Soon realised there was a reason for that. Despite it not being busy (just one other table occupied), it took several minutes to be asked what the three of us wanted to drink and for the drinks to then arrive (minus one orange juice which the waitress must have forgotten about). We ordered food – two full breakfasts for my friends and poached eggs, avocado and toast for me. The waitress asked my friends "would you like haggis with the breakfast?" No mention of a surcharge (it was listed on the menu as one of the components of the breakfast they ordered). They both said yes. The meals arrived and my poached eggs, avocado and toast had become poached eggs, bacon and toast. I pointed this out; the waitress took away the plate and returned it minus bacon. I re-explained that it was not what I ordered and yes, I still wanted poached eggs and avocado. It came 10 mins later (my friends having mostly finished their forgettable breakfasts in the interim, which funny enough arrived WITHOUT bacon which was supposed to be included: so they also had to ask for that to be added, it came on separate small plates). My avocado was discoloured, so it was clearly overripe. It also had no flavour and was spread in a very thin layer on the toast (last half-avocado in the kitchen maybe?). The portion was on the small side over all, with barely any toast and two okay eggs. Very unsatisfying. My friends said the same thing about their full breakfasts. We go to pay the bill and get the whole sorry thing over and done with and notice two £2 surcharges for "cooked food". We enquired about this and it transpired that they were for the haggis, which had been added as a supplement. Some sort of special haggis apparently, though it was a measly little wedge and my friends said it wasn't especially tasty. The point is, no-one had told us this was a supplementary item for the breakfast. Worst of all, there was no offer to discount the bill after they got my order wrong. Nor was there an apology. So, all in all, rubbish food and bad service. Avoid this place.

I tried the soup there , it was pretty good . I liked the service there.. they were friendly.

Lovely good. There is a large range of items you will be soiled for choice. It is a small place but if you are lucky to get a seat you will be happy with the service and food. Good prices as well. You could go for a light bite or full meal depending on your mood.

Excellent food have been in for takeaway lunchtime food a few times and can’t fault it. Well worth a visit, restaurant at the back if you wanted to make a night of it.

I'm italian and i'm going to write in english because everyone need to understand what i'm saying. This place is MARVELLOUS. As italian i was skeptical about italian food outside italy, but this bistro is very very nice! The owner is an italian guy that is not only cooking very good, but is also very polite, available and funny!!! I really recommend this place when you want to eat nicely, either pizza or pasta! (i've tryed both 😂) above all if you want to really taste an italian dish cooked by a proper italian! Enjoy!!!

Friendly stuff and cozy place. We had pizza and a home made lasange (could have been a bit bigger portion). It was delitious. Together with the drinks we paid everything around 21 pounds.
