Lovely ice cream, visited twice over the weekend! Would recommend. There was a bit of a queue but worth it

Found this by chance and we really enjoyed the ice creams and shakes that they offered.

The full Scottish breakfast was truly amazing and delicious - I didn’t have high expectations but I gotta say it was one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had in the UK. The haggis might not be for everyone but I gotta say it was tasty and tender. I would go back there again.

Was so good we went back the next day. Flavors change daily. We tried the mint, sea salt caramel brownie and pistachio latte. The latter two were out of this world!

The ice cream was so delicious

Got the Baileys Pistachio Tiramisu scoop for £4.50. It dominantly tasted of Baileys but it was smooth and delicious. The crunchy cone tasted fresh and perfectly sweet complimenting the ice cream.

Ok food, but I strongly dislike the compulsory service fee of 10 %, other places have that so I would advise to always, at every restaurant and coffee place ask of there's a service charge/fee. Tipping is for very good service and should not be a hidden fee, as it seems to be here. The good thing is that they serve breakfast all day.

Bin and Scoop in Edinburgh serves amazing ice cream! The flavors are unique and delicious, and the quality is top-notch. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming. Highly recommend stopping by for a treat!

The staff was amazing and super friendly. I had the eggs Florentine and it was cooked just right and was the best I’d ever had. I also had a macchiato that I wasn’t a fan of, but I think it was just different than I am used to. Otherwise the prices were amazing for the quality of food and I really enjoyed my breakfast.

Apple pie gelato is so delicious. As I was wondering about the gelato flavor, the male staff member was very kind and asked me if I had a flavor I wanted to try. Hot waffle gelato is not a waffle that is baked directly, but a prototype that is heated and given to you! The waffle taste is so so so... I recommend eating cookies + gelato or just gelato.

Sorry, but this place was a joke. How it has such a high rating is beyond my understanding. I took a table for 4 people and after 20-25 mins no one had come to the table to take either a drink or food order, so we got up and left. As we were leaving the staff even said 'Thank you!' in cheery voices!? Very poor customer service...

Gelato experience here in Old Town Edinburgh. Employees were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Gelato were nice portions and inexpensive. Worth it!

Was in line. Was skipped over and refused service by same woman multiple times. Her treatment of me was racist as she would serve everyone else who was white and glare at me every time before she rudely skipped me. I won’t be returning. She continued to mess up others orders and tried to put a dirty cone in the clean pile when. O one was looking.

Had an affogato and some gelato here, which was delicious. However, the bathrooms were disgusting – dozens of flies swarming everywhere, messy floor, etc. I actually haven’t seen a bathroom that nasty in years.

The ice cream was more expensive, but okay. The tables were dirty. The biggest blow came when I used the toilet. It smelled bad and was very unhygienic, I would like to spare you further details. Based on the condition, I would say that it didn't just look like that since that day.

Awesome homemade ice cream, and they have new, creative flavors every day.

Bruschetta was nice, but really don't recommend the bacon waffles - far too much sugar on everything - very disappointing.

We snuck in here during a rain shower and it’s a super cute shop with yummy treats. We enjoyed their yummy ice cream - the whisky caramel is so good! - and the service was top-notch. Would definitely go back!

Just visited Bun & scoop, I tried their Affogato with vanilla ice cream and my sisters tried different scoops : passion fruit or summer fruit something and toblerone, hazelnut and naugat icecream. It was all good and yum! It was my first time trying an affogato, was okayishh but felt the coffee shot was a little bit too strong for me I guess! They got a fabulous selection of flavours in ice creams and sorbets, savoury menu is amazing, great variety of breakfast and brunch options. The cafe is amazingly maintained, clean and tidy. The barista and staff is just superb, recommended some of their signature items which were all 10/10. Give it a try if you are around the castle. Its just on the bottom of the cockburn street.

We went for gelato and the line was out the door. That's when you know it's good :) They had a lot of flavors and what we got was delicious!!!

So this review is a bit particular since it's more of a review of the employment rather than of the service. To quickly get it out of the way, the service and food is good. Lots of options, prepared quickly and of good quality. However, I must give this place a 2 star review because of the employment issues it has. I originally worked here when it was called Artisan Gelato Bistro and was dismissed...for reasons my employer never told me about. The lack of communication in this work environment is HORRENDOUS and completely abysmal. To anyone who wants to become staff here, be warned of their terrible method of treating employees.

Wonderful in all the ways, fabulous selection of flavours. I didn’t even bat an eyelid went straight for pistachio. Then afterwards spotted the caramel whiskey shortbread, um what that sounds flippin yum? Can only comment on the pistachio, which was delicious (may have to go back tomorrow for whiskey caramel shortbread) Staff were really super friendly, 11/10 would recommend. Plus they stay open til 10pm for all your late night cravings!

A spontaneous stop for a coffee whilst we awaited our apartment to become ready. On a whim (/greed) I ordered a cheese and tomato toastie. What I received was probably the tastiest, fluffiest crusty roll with hot cheese and tomato I have ever eaten. It was delicious. Coffee was great and all served by smiley, happy people. 5 stars.

Came almost at 22 hrs on a rainy cold weekday. Their whisky ice cream was to die for, I know where I’m getting my dessert next time I’m in Edinburgh.

I only came here for ice cream - unfortunately they didn’t have any vegan ice creams only sorbet - I got strawberry and mango which was delicious and actually didn’t melt at all!

Ideal for making a real “Scottish Breakfast” (vegetarian option also available). Satisfactory value for money and very generous. Interesting to keep.

Best eggs Benedict in Edinburgh. Came across there looking for somewhere for breakfast and so glad we did. The food was incredible and the service was great. Coffee was delicious. Didn’t expect it as it’s an iced cream shop as well.

Cleanliness is the highlight of this shop. I had a tasty milkshake. The shop was not crowded and there were lots of seats. They also make some tasty cakes and cookies. Bun & Scoop's Chocolate brownie is famous in the town. The washroom was also neat. If you visit the castle, you should also try to visit this ice cream shop.

Myself and my family have eaten at Bun and Scoop 4 or 5 times and the food is beautifully presented and very tasty. The breakfast menu has a lot of variety and the portions are large. Everyone in my party on each occasion was very impressed, not only with the food but the service and the atmosphere. I can also highly recommend the biscoffe drink. Absolutely gorgeous. Thank you Bun and Scoop for yet another fabulous experience.

Lovely friendly comfy place to go for a cuppa tea or coffee. I went just after most of the shops closed, around 5.30pm, and I wanted a cup of Rooibosch tea, and they had some. Their coffee and ice cream is great too. I didn't eat any cooked food so can't comment, but it sounded good if you want hot food. Nice relaxed friendly atmosphere, with clean modern interior.

First: Overpriced. Despite the ice cream being good (it looks like Gelato, but it isn't) Second: I went to several places in the city, and it was the only one in which the staff (a guy, night shift) was completely rude. English is not my mother language, but i just asked them to repeat a word, and he gave an orientation to the attendee pretending that I couldn't understand instead of just repeating what I asked.

The ice cream was amazing but the service is even better. The ginger guy is so nice. He prepared the ice cream in such a fabulous way and he’s so comedic and just has great customer service overall. Couldn’t catch his name, but the other guy Sam is amazing as well. They both scooped my ice cream in such a perfect way.

Had a work emergency and was looking for a place to have a quick coffee and sit half an hour with my laptop. I went in, asked if they had wifi, and asked if it was all right for me to do this. The person said yes, but after I ordered my coffee and sat, he said wifi might not be very good. It was actually non existent: internet didn’t work at all. I quickly left to find another spot to work, and asked for a refund of the coffee I wasn’t able to drink, which they kindly gave me. The place looked very nice and the coffee did as well even if I didn’t have time to taste it, so this would have been a 5 star review if the other person behind the counter hadn’t mistreated me for going there “just for wifi”. My dearest: if this was a problem for you, you could have just told me when I respectfully asked before sitting down, and I would have gladly found another place to go.

Das Personal war zuvorkommend, das Essen aber war einfach nicht gut. Das Bistro liegt Zentral und ich würde es als Touristenfalle bezeichnen. Die Pommes waren gammelig und das Lachs-Omlett hat komisch gerochen. Kann ich nicht empfehlen.

Az ételek amit ettünk, nevezetesen a lazacos és a csirkés palacsinta nagyon finom volt. A lazacos talán finomabb. De a kiszolgálás, főleg a copfos fehér srác nagyon hanyag, nemtörődöm. Rengeteget kellett várni is rá, bár a többi srác kedves volt. Ennek ellenére szervizdíjat számoltak fel.

2 of us visited last Friday late evening around 7pm and the staff (particularly 1 gentleman - perhaps the mgr/owner?) was incredibly friendly and offered sample before buying!! The flavors were fantastic as was the taste, good prices - would visit again for sure!! Great area also!
