The personell was very unfriendly. We could not start with a drink, we had to order our meal directly as no alcohol could be served without food. Neither the guy who showed us our table nor the waitress was friendly or smiled. They were uninterested. Also the mandatory tip which was added to the check was strange. The pizza was average. We will never go there again

My family is visiting Edinburgh from out of town and decided to stop into Bella Italia. Our server Levente took excellent care of us and the food was some of the best Italian that I’ve had. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Very good. Recommend. Pizza is good. Also make up for the glutinous rice. Pasta is like wax sheep. My wife had to teach Zi Teng for the first time. My girlfriend definitely like the carbonara. service is fine. Hisaishi Knight. it would be better if it has student discounts.

The food was extremely flavorful, and there were quite a few vegetarian options. The mozzarella sticks tasted fresh, and the spicy jam added to the taste. Magda, our waitress, was very polite and was able to customize the pasta we ate to meet our requirements. I'd recommend anyone to visit this restaurant while in Edinburgh. We didn't have to make any reservations. The wait time was less than 10 minutes for us to get seated.

Our experience at this restaurant was disappointing due to the behaviour of one particular staff member – an older lady with white hair. 1. While we were still in the middle of ordering, she abruptly took away the menu before we had finished making our choices. 2. When we politely asked for the bill, she rolled her eyes at us and walked away without a word, choosing instead to approach the neighbouring table – even though no one there had asked for the bill. 3. After we paid (which included the service charge), she took the card machine without a “thank you” or any acknowledgement, but then turned to the next table and warmly thanked them. The whole experience left us feeling uncomfortable and frankly disrespected. We can’t help but question whether her attitude stemmed from a bias against Asian customers. As for the food: the pizza was decent, but the pasta was quite average. Overall, we would not return, nor recommend this place based on our experience.

Was not sure of the what was good. Waitress made suggestions. Choices were excellent. Food was perfect. Definitely recommended for any fan of Italian food

My wife and I enjoy Italian food and we were pleased when the maitre d found us a table even though we hadn't pre-booked. However our experience here was very disappointing. The male waiter who served us has either forgotten his training or hasn't had any. He looked like he had just opened his gas bill. His customer service was zero and bordering on rude. The food was ok and when it was time to pay the bill (over £70) he just plonked the cheque down without a word. Not once did he ask if we had enjoyed the meal or make any attempt at hospitality. We left feeling very underwhelmed. I would avoid this place and find a restaurant that still values customer service.

We went to this restaurant twice, and in addition to the excellent atmosphere and food, Magda's service was excellent. Super friendly and efficient.

We had a wonderful last supper in Scotland at Bella Italia with our server Cameron! She was so lovely, friendly and prompt with everything!My partner had the Margherita Pizza with the Garlic & herb dipping sauce and it was so delicious, perfectly thin crust! I had the Pollo Cacciatore (they were impressed that I knew how to pronounce it properly lol!) it was so flavourful and exactly what I hoped it would be! We would highly recommend for your next visit to Edinburgh! Can’t wait to come back, Thanks again Cameron! :)

After 13h of excursion we needed a place to relax and eat comfortably, and beautiful Italy did it! We entered because of its lighting and good appearance, but we would return because of the speed, quality-price and service. Maria was super nice!! He also noticed, I don't know if it was because of my super Scottish accent, that we are from Spain and there was a Match there!!

I highly recommend it! Delicious food, great location, great service. We were served by Aga, very nice and helpful.

Levente at Edinburgh Bella Italia was great!

Went in hungry, left in a full on food coma with zero regrets. The vibes were cozy, the staff were lovely, and I’m 90% sure my coffee gave me a tiny moment of enlightenment. Would I go back? Yes. Would I bring stretchy pants next time? Also yes.

The rudest host ever ! They refused to seats us for 30 minutes purposely waiting until it was too late to be seated because the kitchen was closing . She treated plenty other people the same way and lost at least 20 people who could have been sat. The one thing I can say is that I'm stunned by the level of incompetence I've witnessed in this location. Would absolutely not recommend.

Levente looked after us and it was a wonderful time! The food was fantastic and Levente was quick to help us after finishing mains, desserts and everything even while the restaurant was dealing with a busy rush. And of course...his moustache is legendary!

Food arrived too fast which tells me that it was already cooked. They just warmed it up. Service fee not optional. They charged us 6£. Rude waiter. We finished our meal and he came and asked us to bring the cheque! So he can get rid of us I suppose as soon as to bring others to the table!
