We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and couldn’t have been happier! We had the most flavourful food and the best service!

Thank you so much for making our family reunion rememberable. There was 16 of us. The service was great the staff efficient and friendly and the food was great. All served together and piping hot.

Excellent place with very helpful staff

Service was excellent, friendly and attentive without being over the top. Cant fault that. The food was decent enough but probably wouldnt entice me back if I am being completely honest. Had the lasagne and it was OK but the tomato sauce was very strong and the food was hotter than the sun when it came out which made it difficult to eat for about 10 mins. Overall I enjoyed it. Its well priced with good service and nice staff but food was a bit average in my opinion. Could just have been the Lasagne so best to try for yourself and judge.

Old school, old established Italian restaurant. Unpretentious and well priced. Nice, simple wine list too. Convenient location, close to Central and Queen St. railway stations and Buchanan St. bus and subway stations. Recommended.

This restaurant is like walking into a family restaurant in Italy,the food is beautifully prepared the atmosphere and service is fantastic if you want freshly prepared food this is where you go. Pulcinella will serve you the food you want to eat.

A great Italian restaurant for an evening meal. The service was excellent. We came here twice during our stay in Glasgow and we were not disappointed. Each time being served by very friendly, welcoming and attentive staff, sorry we didn’t get the name of our waitress, she was particularly good. The service was matched with equally good food and a nice bottle of Merlot. We thought this was very good value on both occasions.

Restaurant closes at 22:00 and I called at 21:35 and they would not book a table! Thanks!

I got food poisoning from the meat lasagna - obviously badly handled - not fresh and not heated up enough - my daughter's penne was ok (bit old fashioned) - at least it didn't poison her - don't let this happen to other people -

Found this corner restaurant while walking around.... Decided to have dinner and definitely a very good decision. The service was excellent. The food was delish. Had chicken pollo, prawn alio.... Superb.

This is a great place if you like a relaxed, friendly atmosphere with good food at reasonable prices. The staff are very attentive but not intrusive and they make you feel very welcome. I always enjoy my visits.

Had dinner with my parents while on vacation in Scotland- it was phenomenal. Service was amazing; the waiter was kind, funny and knowledgeable. The food was fresh and delicious. Would highly recommend the Pulcinella Calzone!

Went at lunch time and was served and catered to by two lovely individuals. The food was fantastic. I had a steak and chicken wings and it was so nice. Would definitely go back here as it was very cheap. Fantastic. Only downside was my moretti had a large head on it, but that is just me being VERY picky, Therefore, won’t go on more about it. Fantastic little place and can imagine it’s even nicer for a late night dinner.

£11.95 2 course lunch menu for 2 with 2 diet cokes, came to £28.90 but the cheeky so and so's added 10% service charge, which we refused to pay. I find this so rude and any restaurant that does this gets refused and no tip! My teenage daughter (16) was treating me from money she earnt in her part time job and she felt embarrassed. The food was OK but a bit old fashioned. The only gluten free starter was ministrone soup without pasta (so vegetable soup) or plain chicken wings with no sauce. I opted for the chicken wings (just 3) and my daughter's arancini was just 2 tiny arancinis about the size of large marbles. For mains she had a mushroom pizza, (again very small) which I am told was nice and and I had gluten free macaroni cheese which was very average, although they did not bring me a spoon, so I was stabbing the macaroni with the fork as I could not get the waiter's attention. The toilets were a shocker, in the cellar and falling apart. The loo roll holder was on its last legs and the toilets were very crummy indeed. There is a large mural depicting a venitian carnival and plastic gigham table cloths. It all seemed very dated. I guess as this is a tourist destination they rely on passing trade? It wasnt terrible or anything, it was just a bit 'meh'.

Italian restaurant with tasty food. The two courses menu was so good and not expensive. The problem is that they charge you a 10% extra for their service without asking you first or telling you. I think would be great to tell your customers about this extra charge on the menu.

One of the best Italian meals my Mother and I have had in Glasgow! We went for the set dinner menu before seeing a show and we are so glad we did. The arancini balls I will be dreaming about forever as well as the meatballs! My mum absolutely loved her main and even finished off mine which is VERY unlike her. The only thing we didn’t like was the garlic bread a little on the burnt side and not very garlicky but honestly apart from that it was absolutely outstanding meal

This lunch experience started with a flat soda water raken from a supernarket bottle probably cost 45p.We were charge £2.50.I asked for pate and also asked if it was served with crusty bread.Yes was the reply.It arrived as a tablespoon of pate and a slice of a cheap savers pan loaf.My friends ordered sticky chicken wings nothing sticky about them.Looked like chicken wing soup.Mains for 2 chicken Milanese.It was served hot but tasteless.My other friend ordered mussels they were ok.Most certainly will not be revisiting.

Best Italian I have eaten in. Fantastic deal on the pre theatre menu, staff could not have been better and the food was superb, highly recommend the lambs liver. Fantastic wine menu and a cosy and inviting atmosphere. There was a lovely buzz about the place and I will definitely return.

Lovely wee Italian with nice food, friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Nicely decorated in a bit of an older style which really suits it well. Also the lunch menu was very well priced and good value for money. Will definitely be going back.

We have been going to Pulcinella for 5 years, it's changed so much, years ago you would get a free glass of wine with your meal, good sized portions of food too. Now it's bite size starters and just the most basic of food and again tiny amounts. I'm back home eating toast, the bill for two was a whisker under 60 quid for our two course meal and a couple of drinks. Again the portions were small, we eat out often and eat in many Italian restaurants. The food we were given was the most basic Italian food I've ever seen and the most expensive 😳. It's genuinely shockingly expensive for what you get, my wife is the most placid of people, but even she said tonight that we're never going back.

The resteraunt was extremely noisy, we could hardly hear ourselves speaking. The food was passable. Tomato soup was good. Arriabiata was not great. It was not very spicy (even though I asked for extra spicy), it was bland and a bit oily. Not the best!

5pm.com lunch deal on Saturday was exactly the same as the board at the door so actually no benefit to using 5pm.com Personally I’ve also learned a lesson that cheap deals like this just mean very small portions. Understandably, costs are high now for restaurants but, £11.95 /£14.95 and the portion sizes this provides, is not for me. I do think the Chicken Milanese (£1 extra) could have had a little more Spaghetti for little extra cost. The food quality is v good though. The dessert choice / 3rd course was poor (for my taste) profiteroles, daily special (caramel cheesecake) and ice cream. Having said all that it is a good traditional Italian restaurant with red and white check table cloths so good Italian comfort food

We decided to go in on a wet and windy Monday night. We chose the 2 course menu. My husband had pate and toast and I had minestrone, both tasty. The waitress who was Italian was very welcoming and pleasant. We then had a ribeye steak,pepper sauce and vegetables and chicken breast with mushroom sauce with potatoes and vegetables. Both delicious. Our bill including soft drink and a lovely glass of red came to a grand total of £42.50. Excellent value. Will certainly return

In Glasgow for a few nights. Can across this place, we returned after a few drinks. The food is excellent, the best Lasagna I've ever had ( and I've had a few). The wine was really good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall a really pleasant experience. Would definitely return.

I often go here . I think the menu is new. It’s fabulous. Great value for a city centre . Capesa salad starter. Herb crusted salmon and home made tiramisu delicious

The very best Italian restaurant you will find. This place has been here for years and I have many fond memories of it: Food is top notch, staff are excellent, and the atmosphere (and mural) is great. My only gripe is there is nothing VE/GF for what is now my dietary requirements; but that is Italian food, and I wouldn't want such a great restaurant to change anything on my account👍

Four friends met for lunch on Friday. Traditional Italian restaurant with lovely food and service. Great value for a city centre venue. Sure to visit again this year.

It's obvious why they force a service charge on their customers, the staff would never earn tips otherwise. I felt as though I was eating in a PoW camp in Fascist Italy as scowling guards patrolled around me. The constant clashing and clattering of cuttlery was beyond irritating. If the music was turned up to audible levels maybe it'd have been drowned out to some degree but we weren't so lucky. The food was tasty enough but the portion sizes were small. We were never offered the à la carte menu, dessert, coffee or even another round of drinks. Overall it was an unpleasant, expensive experience we will not be repeating.

The worst dining experience I have ever had today 29th December 2023. Staff abysmal. Value for money horrendous. Absolutely no customer service.. Will never be back! Dire. What a waste of £91.00.

My partner and I tried this restaurant as we couldn’t decide where and what to eat on a Wednesday night. They have the 2 or 3 course dinner menu which is absolutely smashing with great prices (less than £19 for 2 course). We had the grilled asparagus and prawn cocktail salad, Turkey with cranberry sauce and Chicken with mushroom sauce.. To our surprise, we love every dish here. We had a wonderful dinner, the food served were all fresh, delicious and generous in portions. Servers are all prompt and attentive. The ambience here is warm, inviting and authentic. Definitely will bring friends here.

Having had good experience here in the past, and left positive reviews, unfortunately left disappointed after last nights visit. Only a fixed dinner menu offered, no a la carte. Portion sizes were extremely small and we left hungry. Service was very basic and not friendly, the waiter looked like he'd rather be anywhere else than at Pulcinella. Such a shame as previous visits were great, but won't go back - there are much better Italian restaurants in the city centre.

Nice place for lunch with friends

Busy Saturday night but the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. Food was delicious, my two year old loved his pasta. We couldn't resist trying some ourselves. Melt in the mouth salmon, house wine was really really nice. Looking forward to going back.

My partner and me enjoyed a great lunch today for my birthday. Delicious Pinot Grigio. And a truly ample amount of food for a set 3 course lunch. Pate was delicious, my chicken was very tender, mushrooms and sauce, very tasty. Only vanilla ice cream, but it was lovely. Really great value for £14.95. My partner enjoyed the lasagne and his garlic mushrooms starter he is Sicilian and loved the place, very homely atmosphere and decor and the lady and gentlemen serving us were great, was a proper treat! Found this wee restaurant while our shopping in the city centre, it was very quiet inside so getting a table wasn't a problem. Food was delicious and staff were nice and would definitely recommend.

One of the best meals I've ever had! My parents have been coming here for years and eventually we all come together for a family dinner. It was delicious and some of the best Italian food I've ever had. The calamari starter was light and fresh but the stand out was the main course. I got the Prawns and Mussels linguini and I haven't stopped thinking about it for weeks! The seafood was fresh and cooked perfectly and the sauce was light and full of flavour. I've had a lot of seafood in my time and this was if not the best I've ever had. The service was excellent and so friendly so thank you! I can't wait to come back here. Literally been dreaming of the pasta!

A quiet pre theatre meal - good value

The staff was very rude. When I asked what the dessert of the day was I got told rather harshly "no, no, no, no dessert of the day today" however wasn't overly fussed by that. I had the pizza which was very tasty and a cocktail. When we got the bill we kindly asked for the service charge to be removed where the waiter was confrontational when asking if we wanted it removed, snatched the receipt off of the table and crumpled it up in their hands, before stroming off to get a new receipt. Was an enjoyable experience up until that point.

Il locale è carino, il menù ampio con buone scelte anche per i vegetariani. Punto dolente la cottura della pasta, troppo scotta, ma buono il condimento. Il servizio cortese ma poco attento, anche se in un altro tavolo l'ho notato più attento quindi do una via di mezzo come voto. Non son soddisfatto del prezzo: il cartello all'entrata diceva £19.95 3 piatti (bruschetta, pasta e gelato nel mio caso) e ho aggiunto una birra, pagando oltre £28 quindi senza usufruire a mio avviso del prezzo cena.

Disappointing service for 50th birthday. Felt rushed. 4 food orders wrong. Was not asked once how everything was despite table of 13. 10,% service charge and no longer offer complimentary glass of wine with set menu, although still advertised online. Lasagne was tasty. Pate basic with no side of chutney. Had to request parmesan. Such ashame as used to be a great place.

Great atmosphere. Great food and choice. Great value for food. Great hosts. Great alternative to hotel food for travellers. I would definite recommend a meal at Pulcinella. We have been travelling for two weeks and I was so good to eat an enjoyable tasty meal in a great environment. Elizabeth

Great atmosphere, cheerful staff, fantastic food. We were lucky and walked straight in. I wouldn’t risk it again though. I’d always book ahead. What a find. Superb.

I always look forward with huge excitement to a visit to Pulcinella when visiting Glasgow, and once again it surpassed expectations tonight. The setting and atmosphere are so welcoming and relaxing, and the food is outstanding. The staff are attentive and friendly and it’s always lovely to have a catch up with the head waiter who is a genuinely lovely man. Bruschetta shared, then salmon and roasted vegetables for me and Italian sausages, potatoes and sauce for my partner- the menu is so varied and delicious that it’s always hard to choose! At just under £40 for both of us including wine, for quality, quantity and enjoyment it’s a hard place to beat. Will return very soon!

First visit here , they do a special Lunch / Early evening menu . Old style Italian Restaurant approx 5 mins walk from Central Station. Food and service was excellent and prices very reasonable. Would recommend and will visit again.

We have just returned from Pulcinalla having had the pre-theatre meal. The restaurant is an old fashioned classic Italian place, perfect for a leisurely meal. The 2 course set menu option is great value for money with excellent portion size. Great service. This was our first visit and will not be our last.

Good food, value for money and great service

We recently celebrated my wife’s 50th with 11 family members and enjoyed lovely food and great service throughout our visit. The staff were friendly, attentive and accommodated our every request. I had dropped in earlier with balloons, a cake and candles, and the cake was cut and served to the grateful guests at the appropriate moment. A delicious meal, with great company and fantastic service. Thanks so much for making this the perfect day.

Really fancied Italian for lunch yesterday. Googled Italians close by and this popped up. Warm welcome, lovely window seat. First class food and service off the waitress. Lovely organic wine and lovely ambience. What's not to love highly recommend.

Lovely lady took our booking early afternoon. As soon as we arrived at booked time she remembered our name without looking at book...table at the window was excellent. Love the checked tablecloth and Italian flag decor. We had the pre theatre menu and were not disappointed in our choice from this. Portions were excellent, and food was flavoursome and delicious. Staff were friendly and attentive. Will definitely return.

On arrival at this establishment, we felt the restaurant was very busy and staff were somewhat stretched and as a result we did not receive a very warm welcome ! When we were eventually shown to our table, the vibe was somewhat strained !!! The drinks waiter was efficient enough and presented the drinks as requested and to follow suit our food order was promptly taken. The Pâté De Casa was very nice, however the portion size of the Pâté left a lot to be desired ( no need for two half slices of toast ) as you could put the whole portion on a half slice of toast !!! The pizza that was presented, was nice enough, however the pizza dough was very spongy although it was palatable enough ! When eating out, I’m never able to manage a desert, but on this occasion, a desert was more than welcome as we were still hungry ! Overall …. £90.00 + for three average courses with 2 bottles of wine was not the best value for money ! Alas , on saying that the restaurant was indeed busy, which speaks volumes and although the portion sizes could be better, I have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant ! Bon appetite !

Really good. The food was great and the service was perfect. The atmosphere is nice and calm with soft music playing in the background. We were there for the second time today and highly recommend it! The price is absolutely fair. We hope to visit again before we end our holiday.
