What a wonderful restaurant in Glasgow. We enjoyed the atmosphere but also the food was absolutely wonderful! Great attentive staff, wonderful cook. Absolute worth every one of these 5 stars.

It's not the most innovative restaurant, but I don't mind that; it's nice to still have places like this where you know you're going to get a comforting meal in a pleasant atmosphere. We first stumbled upon O Sole Mio when walking by for lunch, and have been back several times since. Every time we’ve been, the service has been exceptionally good with knowledgeable and friendly staff. The food is authentic and delicious, and there’s a large range of it too. Certainly worth a visit, and we look forward to going back many times in the years ahead!

Staff very welcoming and knowledgeable when asked about drinks and menu. Ingredients were made from fresh and homemade. Ambience great, couples and families were all catered for, menus and prices vary therefore appeals to everyone. Will definitely be back.

Gennaro welcomed us with a big smile on his face, took our coats and then sat us for Ewan to serve us, absolutely great the service, the food and atmosphere… would give 6 stars if I could! 100% recommend

Had late lunch here just stumbled across it - what a great find! We had mozzarella sticks and arancini with chilli jam. I Love arrancini and the combination with chilli jam was unusual but really works! We shared a spicy chicken pizza which came halved and sliced on two plates, it was crispy light and fresh with plenty of flavour. They had a lunch menu and pre theatre set menu which looked good value also. Really enjoyed our meal and the staff were extremely friendly and efficient. Definitely recommend this gem!

Staff pleasant.......but the food mediocre, the restaurant was cold......there for lunch with a friend, knew the helpings would be small......the apple strudel was a joke, not as expected lovely flakes pastry. Sorry won't be back, certainly not value for money

This is a really fantastic restaurant. From the service when you arrive to all the way through the meal. The food is beautifully cooked and is truly authentically Italian. The owner really cares about his customers and giving good service to everyone that walks through the door. He also is passionate about Italian food and it shows in a beautiful meal every time. My husband and I had a beautiful meal for his birthday. The waiter and waitress were so welcoming and made it a really great day. So friendly and nice to talk to nothing was a bother.

My friend and I were looking for somewhere to eat in with her 8 week old baby but unfortunately we were turned away from other restaurants. Thankfully another restaurant recommended O Sole Mio and we are so glad they did. It was very quiet being a Tuesday evening which was perfect for us as we were very hungry after travelling and shopping all day. We were welcomed by a lovely gentleman, unfortunately we did not catch his name, however service was prompt from start to finish. Lovely atmosphere and music, and very quick service. We will definitely come again. Thank you 😊

I would describe this as a classic Italian restaurant. The dishes were excellent. Cooked to perfection, perfect portions and delicious. The atmosphere was sublime and the service attentive and helpful. Highly recommended!

We have stopped on this restaurant close to the Buchanan bus station before taking a bus. They have been relatively fast, and I say relatively because we were 10 people ordering and all the food is cooked there and it is delicious. So it read worthy the time we spent. I recommend this restaurant to everyone and I will come back when visiting Glasgow again. One of my favourites specially because they serve gluten free pizzas and they are so good that you don't feel the difference. Very kind and helpful staff. Thanks very much for such a good service. What can I say about this lovely little piece of Italy right in the heart of Glasgow … except the staff are fantastic the food is amazing and the value for money fabulous. We are here on the 4th of April 2024 and we’re looked after by Raine and Andrew the service was superb and the food also, would we go back? Yes in a heartbeat we really can’t recommend this restaurant enough. 5 stars all the way.

So disappointing, minestrone was like tomato purée with a couple of veg thrown in, lasagne was boiling hot outside but not warm enough in the middle, so dry. Was pretheatre menu.

Had lunch today and it is the best meal out I have had in a while. The bruschetta was lovely, hot toasted bread and lots of tomatoes and red onion. My main course of chicken in sauce was absolutely delicious and my daughter's pasta dish was equally as good. Such good value for lunch and great service too. This was my mum's favourite restaurant so we have been going for many years and never disappointed.

Probably my favourite restaurant in Glasgow. I have been frequently the past few months and It's always a nice time there. The food is very delicious, well priced and they have a very good selection, the lunch menu too also has a good selection and you get very good portions for a good price. The staff are very welcoming, the restaurant itself has very nice, cosy atmosphere to it. Will definitely be going again when I'm out for lunch in Glasgow.

We were here for dinner on 30/01/2024. Fabulous food in a lovely restaurant and the staff were polite and helpful. I have unusual allergies but, there were no problems and I wasn't made to feel like I was a nuisance. Definitely highly recommend this restaurant

Lovely restaurant. We love Italian food and food was excellent. I had veal that melted in your mouth. Two waiter lady and a man were excellent, can't fault them. Def be back. Always nice when the owner is there welcome you.

Went to this restaurant yesterday around 3pm for a late lunch having heard good things about it from friends and family. We were welcomed into the restaurant by a member of staff and told to select our own table which I thought was interesting start. We were then asked to order our drinks as the menus were placed down, which felt rushed and then left for about five minutes to look over menu, ordered our food and proceeded to wait about twenty minutes for our starters (bruschetta with parmaham) to be brought out which then had to be sent back as they were missing the parmaham, the second time they were brought out it was only bread with a single slice of ham and three small sundried tomatoes, which is not what would be expected, however we were very hungry after our wait so ate them regardless, (we were not approached to ask if it was more suitable anyway). Our mains came out and were slightly better in taste and expectation (margherita pizza and penne arrabiata). The overall service was below what would be expected considering there were three tables in restaurant (7,2,2) including myself and my date, with two servers and a manager in terms of front of house staff. Overall we left feeling disappointed and underwhelmed from the experience. As someone who has experience working in hospitality it was unfortunate to see how little the staff and management engaged with the guests, numerous times other guests had to approach the bar area in order to gain the attention of staff to ask for various items or queries.

Booked a table before a show and waited so long to be served we couldn’t have a starter - excuse given was they were too busy - so why take my booking - so disappointed! The pizza looked like it was a frozen base not homemade ! We ordered a mixed salad at £5.50 it had lettuce tomato and red onion with no oil or dressing. Have been many times before but won’t rush back

Bread was stale - 2 olives each seems rather mean for the price - veal Milanese was ok but breadcrumb coating was a bit thick and it was not seasoned- my wife had seafood linguine it was awful basically cooked linguine with some shellfish on top no sauce no seasoning- calamari had the consistency of a rubber ring - manager was apologetic and did not charge us for the stale bread and .two coffees- perhaps because it was a quiet Wednesday night it was not the normal chef

Been going here for years and the owner is such a nice friendly man who always greets us with a smile and chats. Food was amazing and warm atmosphere

I used to come here often, but this time on arrival no one came up to me even though 2 employees clearly saw me waiting for a table. They just proceeded to have a chit chat in the bar and laugh even though they could clearly see me waiting at the entrance. Really bad experience and don't think I'll be coming back.

First time in this established Italian. Food was lovely, and reasonably priced for a 2 course lunch.

This was the second we had eaten here. This time we booked a table and were very happy they had given us one at the window. The food (both had pasta) was excellent and the front of house staff very friendly and helpful. Would thoroughly recommend.

6 of us here tonight and everyone gave 10 out of 10. The staff were amazing. We're all looking forward to coming back soon.

Ok, I like Italian food, I am picky about what I eat and can be very critical, but I found nothing wrong and everything right about O Solo Mio . The service and attention from the waitstaff and the owner were much appreciated. The lunch special I had (a small pizza and a bucket of mussels in an awesome cream sauce) was a bargain ! And my wife's bruschetta was as fresh and tasty as could be. I enjoyed talking to the owner, he is devoted to his restaurant and his customers. When I complimented him about how clean his restrooms were he told me he cleaned them himself to make sure they were perfect ! That never happens, that job usually goes to the lowest paid, least service person on the staff. Next time we are in Glasgow we will be back. Graci

Found this place by accident. I like the atmosphere there, interior design. Also very nice staff. The food, I must say, I didn't expect that I would like the soup since combining mushrooms with fish is not something I would do or like, but it appears to be lovely. The pollo marsala - also good.

I stumbled upon this place while looking for somewhere that wasn't a chain restaurant. In short, this was some of the best Italian food I have had outside Italy. Excellent service, flavours, atmosphere. I hope to come back soon!

Popped in for lunch. First time in this established Glasgow Italian. It was a Monday and quite quiet. Opted for their 2 course and took their take on minestrone soup and the fudh dish of the day. The soup was really tasty and I was pleased to have chosen this as a starter. The fish was haddock with capers and potatoes but was a bit too bland for my taste. Decent portion though. Service was excellent and my wife loved her pasta starter and chicken main. Happy to try again if in Glasgow.

What a surprise! We stopped in for a drink (they even made me a limoncello spritz), and ended up staying for dinner. And it was very good! From the hostess with the mostest to our waiter, Jeffrey, we had a wonderful time. We started with Arancini and it was very nice. One of our group wanted a special entree, just shrimp in the seafood linguini, and she was accommodated and treated to a wonderful dish. Two of us had Saltimbocca, and it was good, but not great. Salads were good, wine offerings are great! Really I would totally recommend this place to anyone looking for Italian food in the neighborhood.

First time eating here for lunch and we thought the price and choice on the menu was absolutely fantastic. We had Two courses each, one pint of beer and a really decent bottle of wine all for £60. Can't wait to go back next time I'm in Town.

Booked pre theatre dinner at O Sole Mio, which I’m sad to say did was not up to their previous standard. It would appear the kitchen staff lack imagination when it comes to presentation as the garnish on my starter consisted of three limp chard leaves, accompanied by two SMALL pieces of bread. The pizza, which was presented on this occasion really did require the steak knife,as the pizza base was brick hard and a dental challenge ! The portion sizes of other main courses were small and could have been placed between two slice of bread. The standards at this establishment really have declined and although the location is handy for the theatre, I’ll be looking elsewhere for pre theatre dinner, as O Solo Mio no longer represents good value !

This is the 4th visit. So know the place . Friendly staff and great food 😋 . Not over expensive and very reasonable. We will be back.

Food is legitimately the worst I have ever tasted. Pizza was inedible as it was burnt black, lasagna was like baby food - clearly reheated and had a weird mushy texture and the chicken and potatoes was served with lettuce and some Luke warm watery sauce that was bland? The plate edges had food all over it when sat down. How can they even serve this…is there no pride? I see the owner likes to make rude replies to paying customers that are unhappy, but save it - put the effort into making a decent meal. Won’t be back.

Garlic bread had to be redone with actual garlic. First time it was just buttered toast. Pizza needs more toppings usually proper Italian pizza has more toppings.

Great food and a very friendly service! Every question regarding allergies was met with a helpful response. The best gluten-free pizza I've ever had: crispy crust and a light dough, tasted just like a normal pizza would taste. Definitely would go again!

My friend and I had a lovely time here yesterday. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and very helpful. Nothing was too much bother for them. They didn't rush us out even though we had finished eating and were only drinking tap water. Music was soft and relaxing and very unobtrusive. Many thanks to all the staff for making our visit so nice.

We ordered two (same) spicy Italian pizzas without mushrooms, but with some red onions and a bit garlic, added with some black olives. But we got one default with mushrooms, but without special ordered toppings. And one with red onions and unbaked/raw pieces of garlic and without mushrooms. But both without black olives. But finally the mozzarella-garlic bread was very good! Next time we wanna try the lasagne. And the waitress apologized and it was okay. In sum: Pizza is not their thing, but the garlic bread is nice.

Fantastic meal last night before we went to see Shalamar, staff so friendly and welcoming. First time there. Defo be back …was a night to remember lol

First family meal out in a little while. Food was subpar at best- mum’s arancini was bland and her main was very poor, resulting in her not being able to eat it. Chips are obviously very cheap oven quality. The other meals were edible but not anything special. The older lady was lovely but the younger girl with the blonde hair was very impatient and slow taking the order. Wasn’t very welcoming or smiley.

Had lunch here today and it was really delicious. Great value at £14.95 for two courses. Good choice and ample portions on the lunch menu. Nicest meal out I have had recently and no pressure to give up the table as is the case in many Glasgow restaurants these days. Definitely worth a visit.

Phenomenal. We made an online booking that flew under the radar but the owner fit us in regardless. The food was amazing, the service incredible, and the perfect portion sizes ahead of going to see the orchestra.

Een heerlijke plaats om even heerlijk te eten. O Sole Mio bestond uit een prachtig team dat ons goed kwam vragen achter onze wensen. De gerechten waren heerlijk. Het voorgerecht was redelijk zwaar (pizza-bread). Maar het hoofdgerecht werd ook iets later gebracht. Dus er werd wel een beetje rekening gehouden hiermee. De pasta's zijn geweldig lekker. Mooi op smaak gebracht. Heel vers ook! En ook de desserten waren af. Super lekker gegeten voor een schappelijke prijs.

Haven’t visited here for a while. Very disappointed with the service, wrong food brought out, which meant we didn’t eat together, portions were a bit small. Think they are trading on the historical name of what was once a fabulous Italian restaurant. Won’t be back.

Late afternoon meet up for a family meal. We were very well looked after. Veal stew was delicious and a bargain on the set menu.

A lovely time, this was our after-party when we won the trophy at Basketball -go Gladiators! The food was lovely.

Wouldn’t feed this to the homeless.. when I walked in was dealt with rude staff and once ordered food took ages. The lasagne I ordered was rock solid in the middle probably reheated junk and tasted like it had been lying for a few years atleast. Pizza was mid but defo wouldn’t recommend. Place has lost its good food don’t know if there was been new ownership or new chefs but I have visited in the past but would not go back after this experience. The place is outdated leave with your dignity and shut down please.
