The best restaurants serving Indian food in South Wales

The food quality is very low , using same element in every other dish, the taste is also very bland, poor customer service , if you want to try only try dosa nothing else.

very comfortable seating areas,plenty of room,the food was great one of the best meals i have had,staff were welcoming and attentive,will definately go there again shame we have to travel nearly 20miles for this sort of quality.

Used to be great here. It has now gone over to a dreadful buffet. Went for a celebration and it was not good at all. So sad. However, Three Elephants just down the road is phenomenal. Same owners as the amazing Hattis in Newport and Three Moghuls. Avoid this place and go to one of those instead.

Booking system useless, bland restaurant walls, bright lighting , no music, food presentation bland, but edible. We arrived at 17:50 for pre-booked table at 18:00, and without even confirming our name, was told to take a seat in the lobby. Few minutes later, a couple who had not booked, were promptly seated in the restaurant. I stood up to complain, whereupon we were then seated. Service was ok for a busy evening, but food lacked presentation and my Lamb madras was a bit lack lustre, though spicy enough. Chips served on cold plate, but were hot, rice was ok. Keema naan was excellent. They seem more interested in getting takeaways out the door than paying attention to sit down guests, and the booking system via telephone or messenger is a bit 1990’s. Don’t know why they are not on Just Eat, though I expect it’s financially driven. All in all, disappointing and stressful experience. Will think twice about using them next time. Also, I read a similar review from July last year, which highlighted several issues that I have mentioned, but despite the restaurant manager saying they take these issues on board, it’s obvious they don’t, so I guess we will have to vote with our feet and walk away.

Pedimos una comida para llevar a las 5: 35 pm en Nochevieja que totalizó £ 80. Nos advirtieron que tardaría 50 minutos en ser entregado. 3 horas después de que pedimos la comida llegó piedra fría y la mayoría de los contenedores se habían derramado y contaminado los otros contenedores de alimentos. Durante nuestra espera de 3 horas llamamos al restaurante para averiguar dónde estaba nuestra comida y nos dijeron que estaban muy ocupados y no tenían suficientes conductores de entrega. Me dijeron en mi última llamada que mi comida estaba lista y que me mantenían caliente esperando a que un conductor me entregara. 30 minutos después de esa llamada la comida se arruinó. Llamé para hablar con un gerente, pero me dijeron que un reembolso no era posible ya que la comida había aparecido, pero un gerente volvería a llamar para discutir. Nadie ha vuelto a llamar. Evitaría este lugar a toda costa. Su servicio es espantoso. £ 80 en comida fría, derramada y no una disculpa u oferta de reembolso. A juzgar por otros comentarios también tienen forma para esto.

Ordered a delivery which was missing a main item. Also delivered a wrong order which I couldn't eat. Called the restaurant and they delivered the missing item but did not deliver the correct meal which they said they would. This is the second time our order as been incorrect. Honestly, it's not rocket science to get a simple order right. As long has they get their money it's ok by the looks of it!

As a band performing at Planet Rock's Planet Rockstock, it can be hard to satisfy the entire group. But Tandoori Kitchen did just that on this specific day. After a hard day's rockin' and partyin', the stomach does tend to growl, and on the recommendation of one of our party that had been previously, we decided a curry would be the solid option. The food was outstanding. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of curries. They don't agree with me most of the time. But Tandoori Kitchen's curry satisfied and didn't leave any lingering effects afterwards. The service in particular was fantastic. Again, a rock band with a couple of drinks in them can be rather the challenge, but Megan handled it all with a great sense of humour and playfulness that left a lasting impression. It's one thing having a group of people who know each other inside out, but when someone from the outside can then get involved in the fun too, it's so much more fulfilling! Aside from our witty back and forth with Megan, she also made sure our table was supplied constantly with drinks and was always on hand if we needed anything else. I thank her for being a great sport and to Tandoori Kitchen's other staff and the chef too for serving us some amazing food. We will be back!

Ordered take away through just eat, quoted 30-45 minute wait, food arrives after 1 hour. Missing one of the main curry dishes (of 4 ordered). Called several times, they don't pick up their phone as switched to answer phone. Always a bad sign if you ask me. Messaged on Facebook - left several messages but no call back. Avoid as food is okay but portion sizes small considering the prices they charge. Won't be using again & if you have any sense, you'd avoid them too!

Ordered through uber eats. Opens at 1700hrs but no delivery before 1880 to 1830 hrs. Very expensive compared to other local Indian restaurants and nowhere near the quality. The chicken tikka dansack was chicken dansack although we paid £2 extra for the tikka. King prawns were a cheap replica. Flavours were OK but if you're paying top whack you expect top quality food. First and last time for us.

Recently moved to the area from the West Midlands having had hundreds if not thousands of curries for the last 30 odd years. I've tried many different Indian takeaways in the Newport area since moving here and they've not quite had it for my tastebuds. Tried the Railway Tandoori about 6 months ago and this place has been my go to since! Whether I pick my food up of have it delivered the owner is always chatty, polite and helpful! Every single curry, breads, rice, starters etc I've had from here have been absolutely bang on 👌 always fresh, tasty as hell and very generous portions! Credit where it's due to the Chefs! If you like hot food then I'd recommend the Jalfrezi, South Indian hot and my absolute favourite.. the Chicken Naga! Best I've ever had! Keep up the good work 👏

We ordered delivery for 8.20. 7.00 knock on the door food partner was still in work. Explained to the driver he took back I rang the shop they apologised said I want fresh at 8.20. Food arrives at 8.45 it was the original food reheated the bag was dripping in grease the rice was rock solid soggy chips and warm Salad rang the shop they said I was trying to rip them off and could only have part refund. Please avoid this place and go elsewhere

Come here once have come here ever since, probably come every month, prices are brilliant, service they are lovely, clean place I’d 100% advise

First time ordering from here as we've recently moved to the area. Best Indian I have ever had. Egg rice was full of flavour, chicken nice and tender and soft, fluffy nan bread. Restaurant itself is absolutely spotless. Many thanks. We will be back.
