Taj indian cusiene in Merthyr Tydfil

We've dined at the Taj restaurant twice in the last few months, and each time, the food has been absolutely delicious with an extensive menu offering a great variety of dishes. The decor is inviting and stylish, and the overall ambiance is lovely. However, the service speed could use improvement, as we've waited nearly an hour and a half on both visits before receiving our main courses. During our recent visit, we were there for around three hours, and we noticed that the table next to us had dirty plates and leftover food from previous guests that remained uncleared for a concerning amount of time. The staff didn't seem to prioritise addressing this. That said, the quality of the food is undeniable, and the prices are quite reasonable. The staff are friendly, and the restaurant has great potential. With just a bit more attention to detail in service and cleanliness, it could truly stand out as an exceptional dining experience.

Fabulous food, lovely staff and reasonably priced. We Eat here usually once a week. Food is fabulous always had good food here been so many times. The staff make you feel at home, nothing is too much trouble.

Ordered on line, for some unknown reason would not go through, phoned to explain but would not add discount for ordering on line. Shocking last owner always honered if there was issues booking as website ain't the best. Will think twice before ordering again on line. 🤬

Me and my husband went for an evening meal with our newborn and we both absolutely loved the food. We had a chutney tray, onion bhaji and chicken pakora for starters. All were lovely and good portion sizes! We ordered a curry each with rice and peshwari naan. Really enjoyed everything and our server was great too! Great value for money. Many thanks!

The Chicken Pakora starter was the best I've had. Main dishes, Chicken Korai, Lamb Rogan and Rangailli Meachilli were also superb. The Waiter Service was attentive without being intrusive. Give this restaurant a try.

Visited here many times. The food is always good. It's not a posh restaurant but the price is right and the food is as good. As any Indian. Wednesday and Sunday is buffet night so good value.
