Takeaway Sunday 28th January 2024 I ordered a Captain Pathila described on the menu as "Hot". I like bit of fire and a bit of heat from an Indian takeaway. But this was just MILD. Not even WARM. So why did they describe it as "Hot" !!! The side dish Aubergine Bhaji was indescribably bland and mushy. So I won't be ordering another takeaway. Tasteless non-descript food. Be warned

First time here and we was not disappointed, we stopped in the groes wen but after reading the menu I decided to try somewhere else as it wasn't for us. We headed towards Chepstow and seen the Indian empire on the way. We pulled into the carpark and instantly smelled the aromas coming from the restaurant. We went in and was welcomed and shown to a table straight away. We had starter's Which was stunning then not long after our mains arrived. The chicken tikka is the best ive tasted as it just melted in the mouth, the curry sauce was also very flavoursome. I'm a bit of a curry junkie and have visited most restaurants in Newport and the surrounding areas, this place wins hands down and we will be going back very soon. Great staff, great atmosphere and stunning food. 5***** .

I have been fortunate to travel the whole of the UK and enjoyed Curry’s from many styles of restaurant from Chutney Marys in Mayfair London to Classics on the curry mile in Leicester, but none compare to my all time favourite which happens to be a stone throw of my Home. Great location with ample parking and super smart clean and modern interior, the team are knowledgeable friendly and put you at heart of everything they do. The food is exceptional and so fresh with classic choices most of which i have had and loved so after 15 years of visiting I’m yet to ever have been disappointed. Thank you to Mo Uddin and your amazing team for truly great food.

Been going here for many years, missed out during the pandemic but got back into it each Saturday. Some bazaar comments about the food because ts always good and is often outstanding. Never had rude staff. I would think that during very busy periods there may be a wait but like everyone else they will staff up when they need to. It is and always has been a greta place to go for a treat or a nice takeaway

Planned a surprise birthday and requested the staff to plan everything and it went far far more better then I expected. We all felt over the moon, as everything was done excellently. Best place to arrange your wedding and other family events. It is actually done in a separate hall and you won’t get disturbed by the restaurant customers. Highly recommend for food too, as I think nearly 100 dishes to choose from. Checked the amazing picture taken from an old iPhone but the food will speak itself.

This is a place to visit with your family and friends for an outstanding food and service, I went there with my family and the front of house staff was so welcoming and polite, we were talking to our table and given the menu with a smile, once we ordered our food we didn’t wait long although the restaurant was almost packed, the food was really delicious and service was excellent, I have been in eating in Indian restaurants in Newport area for the past 9 years and this place was my first and will be my weekly dining now. One place to visit with a full Indian flavour.

You can see from the number of bad reviews that this is not a great place to dine. I am local and had a takeaway that was so undercooked as to be inedible. The aubergine and onions were just raw. I like spicy and was surprised how bland it was. I live within a quarter of a mile so for convenience I went there with friends. But I won't go again. They need to seriously up their game to start getting some good reviews. The staff all look miserable.

I ordered aubergine curry. It was not cooked . The onion was rock hard. This is not what you expect from a curry house

We booked a table for 2 at 7 p.m and the restaurant was quite busy although we were seated very quickly and order taken for food and drinks The wait for food was quite long which left us a bit frustrated especially as we saw starters and mains coming out for other tables We ordered the tandoori chicken and tandoori mixed grill which I must say was fantastic! The sauce served on the side added so much to the enjoyment of the meal! Unfortunately though there was again a long wait for anyone to come clear the plates and then to provide the bill which slightly tainted the whole experience

Asked for a table for 1…was shown to a table .Waiter came said go straight to the food ?? Didn’t ask if I wanted starters etc.Ordered chicken tikka madras /special rice before I could say any more …he said that’s enough .so I then ordered a Nan after he finished.I looked at drinks menu and asked for a cobra .he said only draught lager so ordered that .Then looked around restaurant to see bottles of kingfisher etc on tables .Another waiter passed and I said can I have a bottle cobra which he said only got kingfisher bottles . The food was ok nothing special .When I went to counter to pay there were fridges full of cobra /kingfisher etc . So questioned the 2 waiters in front of the guy behind bar and they said sorry . Be aware they out to sell what they can get more profit on and felt conned by their dishonest .Won’t be eating here again .Never experienced deceit like it in an Indian restaurant in 40 yrs .

Food is very nice and staff okay but they do like to play a little trick with the tip this unhappy looking chap appears perhaps owner or manager at the end of the meal. He asks if you really liked the meal so you say yes thank you very much and this unhappy looking chap produces a handheld device with built in tip generator machine for really good service you must now press this and it adds 25% clever little trick, they also push drinks I was asked if I wanted another lager over six times. Next time I went in I was driving so asked for tap water numerous times and finally given a very small glass of Luke warm water and refused anymore as I had a glass already. I paid in cash and I gave a £5 tip on a £25 meal the same unhappy bloke made some comment and took the chocolate after eight out of my hand and walked off. Nice meal but keep your wits about you, Best advice just get a takeaway that why they can’t try it on.

Have been here many time over the last twenty years and this was the first time i left dissapointed. It seemed like the veg side dishes were packed out with potatoes and my main checken dish was mainly half cooked onion. The samoses have a feeling of bought in and obviuosly cooked from frozen - (the first attempt they were still fozen) and the Kulfi was unrecognizable as such. My impression was that to keep food reasonably priced in a not too afflluent area corners have been cut. Service wasn't great either.

I have eaten at this restaurant many times and used the takeaway service always polite prompt and pleasant service and the food is fantastic

We visited a few weeks back whilst visiting the area on holiday with a very large group of friends. The restaurant had more than enough space to seat us as it was midweek. Amazingly our food orders were all correct and considering there were 31 of us was a miracle but the service was the worst I have ever come across. The staff were rude, abrupt and seriously need to have some training. No niceties and when we did ask any questions we were shot down abruptly. The food was nice enough and better than expected but if we visited the area again we would not return which is a shame. One of our tables waited 45 minutes for their drinks, the bill wasn’t given to us complete so too much money was handed over to them. When drinks were delivered to the table they were slammed not placed down and when the food did arrive it was just put in to the middle of the table rather than handed to the person it was intended for. For locals I would order a takeaway but I wouldn’t eat in.
