We 10 people visited here, looking for Indian restaurant in Cardiff, completely disappointed with this one, first it's not an South Indian it's completely Srilankan the food is not good everything is forzen and heated, service was good prices are also ok but the taste was not up to the mark I don't prefer or recommend this at all Don't try Noodels at all They serve Upma and says as noodels

A recommended place to eat food if u are from sub continent. Food is delicious tbh. If you are near to Cardiff city a must try place. Chicken kothuparatha, medu wada, mutton roti and mango lassi are my fav items here.

Very disappointed with the food. had a takeaway went home only few minutes the food was spoiled and smelly. When asked about why the food was spoiled too many excuses and no apology or any sort doesn't care . Wouldn't recommend

Service was bad, the food was cold and had a strand of hair. When pointed out , the owner neglected it and said its onion not a strand of hair.

The 🦀 curry & devilled 🐔 were outstanding. My teenage son who wouldn't have 🦀 before relished the dish & said that the meat was succulent. The other dishes were delicious. We found the beef kothu quite hot; it could have had less 🌶. The prices for all the dishes were very reasonable. God willing, we'd like to dine-in soon!

I have ordered today via deliveroo but unfortunately I haven't received my order (order no. #2184)..I waited for almost 15mins outside my door but delivery boy didn't came and he just ended the chat by saying he kept the order in front of my door....but in practical there was no order.....worst experience I have ever had.....Hopefully you will improve your delivery service.....after waiting for almost 1hr I ended up with nothing...disgusting

Dosas were not fresh - soft (NOT nice and crispy). Despite informing the owner, no action was taken to address the issue. It seems like they might have been left out or the order was mishandled. Disappointing experience!

I recently dined at the best place for South Asian cuisine, and it exceeded my expectations. The flavors are unparalleled, with a delightful use of spices that sets it apart from other options. Driest chicken I have ever had in a chicken curry. To make it less enjoyable than it already was, one of the staff (boss is my guess) had a loud conversation on his phone behind the counter with everyone on speaker while the girls were doing all the work. Not a great experience overall.

Prices are too high to compared to portions

The egg curry I had was soo horrendous that I had an upset stomach for the next 3-4 days, the service and the wait time has become faster but the quality food has gotten very bad

So it was my first experience in curry hut the people who comes to take the order was very friendly and we ordered these dosa, cauliflower 65, chicken kothu roti,beef curry,parotta,veechu roti, First we got the cauliflower 65 which was okay, and then got the ghee roast the dosa was a bit sour but was okay to eat but sambar and chutney was not sufficient for that dosa and if we want extra need to pay more. Telling about the chicken kothu roti and beef curry they were horrible the beef was very hard and couldn't even eat a single piece and the chicken kothu was a huge portion but the roti in that was not cooked properly and taste the rawness of flour and we told this to the lady who took the order and she passed that to the manager. He came to us and asked about it and he was very rude and was back firing to us and was very arrogant and was not accepting the feedback. And he took the food away from us not even asking whether we would like to order anything else. Very disappointed with the behaviour of the manager... glad that we didn't need to pay for that. Parotta was tasty and soft. Overall was very disappointed.

Food is bad and semi cooked with bad taste and hospitality other places like poonuswami are much better

To get a table is a Herculean task, it’s not a Michelin star for crying out loud. And even if you manage to get a table, they apparently reserve a few for some imaginary people. And then the food, we were served undercooked “uthappam”, the batter was literally oozing out like a choco lava cake. And the upper management is not really service oriented, while being in the service industry.

One of the go to places for authentic SOUTH INDIAN food. Plenty dishes available, also enough drinks too. (Alcoholic, non alcoholic) ambience and service can be much better but food for the price is outstanding. Never disappointed.

Called to ensure there will be space for 8:30pm, but when we got there he said takeaway only and was quite rude when mentioning we called. Food previously has been good but disappointed by service.

The worst place ever I have tried Dosai ever. No service at all. Our food got to and asked to wait for the cutlery! Waste for money! I dont recommend this place to anyone...!

We ordered a chocolate milkshake, but I didn't get it, We waited half an hour after having food as well. At the time of payment, we informed him about that, but the serviceman hadn't done anything. He just ignored me and subtracted the amount from the orders.

The food is not fresh and the customer service is the worst, with the servers and manager having a trash and rude attitude. Not a friendly vibe at all.

Worst costumer service ever. I got the food after 40 minutes of waiting and no cutlery provided. By the time cutlery arrived for become cold and they reheated it in oven food became hard. And no sizzler for devil dishes.

I’m a regular to this place. Waited 20 minutes for being served. Although it was not that busy I was sitting there for the whole time waiting to be served. Didn’t even care to ask that I have been served or not. Waited for 20 minutes and left the place. Disappointed.

The dinner was awfull, we ordered no spicy food and the waiter said Ok. It was a total lie. Evertthing was too much spicy and overheat. I never would recomendend It. The toilet was very dirty.

My first Sri Lankan take-away experience and it was eye-opening and mouth-wateringly good... The menu was diverse, so it took me a while to decide what to have... went for the Mutton Rolls (they were spicy!), Aubergine & Chick Pea Curry, Mutton Ceylon Dosa and some Parottas... all flavoursome and delicious! There was enough leftovers for a decent sized lunch and it tasted even better when re-heated! This place impressed a lot, so I'll definitely be back to work my way through everything on their menu soon... Keep up the good tastes, Curry Hut!

This is One of the worst restaurant I experienced in Cardiff.

Services provided are very appropriate. Foods served also contain the adequate quantity and quality that's required.

The food was amazing and the Owner looked after us very well. The staff were very friendly.

It was a great dinner with my friends. The Manager of the restaurant was a wonderful host. We were welcomed warmly and he really did go out of his way to accommodate our requirements and stay comfortable to indulge our dinner. The atmosphere was relaxed and quite which was perfect to have a conversation. The overall service was excellent.

Iam sharing my experience in curry hut, it's a beautiful restaurant for friends and family to dine in, a Verity of tasty mouth watering authentic dishes from down south India and Srilanka. My favourite food item was chicken kothu rotti and masala dosa, I can bet on both because of its aroma and taste I recommend people to try this restaurant for the spicy and sweet dishes it provide. My experience in curry hut was wonderfull and I really love to visit this place.

One among the best Indian restaurant in the city. Food tastes really nice. Manager seems to be really helpful and polite to the guests. Love to visit again. 🤤 The only issue with the restaurant was the dinning area. If the restaurant is having bit more dinning its going to be amazing.. ✌🏻

First of all food is great. They had better customer service until recently I had a bad experience with my food being so late, I was gonna die of hunger. It's either they prioritize dine-in over take away, or it was just because the customer was the owner's friend or something.. They came to the restaurant 15 minutes late( I saw him cheering with the owner, hence my assumption that he's a close friend), and they got their food 30 minutes earlier. And my order was a simple chicken biriyani. I would prefer to eat from curry hut when no "owner's friend" is visiting cus only then you'll get your food on time.

Authentic taste (some dishes), very good portions at an affordable price. But the place is understaffed with long wait times.

The food was sooo good, any Indian in Cardiff should have their food for once. It's super affordable as well!!!

As I am a malayalee in Cardiff, I am so eager to have Indian or Kerala food here. Many suggested curry hut, actually the food is fine but the service is too bad. The management should have improved better. The food not taste exact like our south Indian but it's fine to have this at least. There is no enough staff to clean table, take orders, treat customers. This is a big fault of management team. It almost took more than 1 hour to make the order.

One of the most hyped Indo - Sri Lankan eateries in Cardiff. Heads up, it is absolutely amazing when it comes to certain dishes which lived up to their expectations , while some others were pretty awful. Will rate based on the items we ordered Starters: - Ulunthu vadai - Around 2.5£ for 2 nos - was decent - Samosa - tasted awful Veg: - Cheese chilli dosa - has a truck load of chilli and hardly any cheese (photo of the chilly leftover of the dish attached) - Paneer masala dosa - has an overload of paneer and not really masala in it Non veg: - Dolphin Koththu Porotta (Chicken) - Amazing - huge quantity, with a good mix of Chicken, milk, Porotta, green chillies and capsicums. This was amazing - Biriyani - This was amazing too, and had a good quantity - Rose Milk Sarbath - was good From this experience, we felt the Non vegetarian dishes are their best picks, and some items are not even worth trying. We also felt the place was understaffed and non manageable by the only person who has to manage all the tables with such a good crowd dining in. We spotted a couple of instances of where they messed up the orders too. Nevertheless, it’s a good place to hangout, and has the space to seat big groups. The place is also well decorated and has a good ambiance. The menu is also huge with a lot of items, vegetarian as well as non vegetarian, and drinks too. Some items especially in their desi beverages menu - are however, unavailable. The location isn’t far from the city centre, which is probably another reason why it’s different from other Indian eateries which all are located in the city centre/ city road. The best place for South Indian food!!! The service was great and super quick! The medu vadas needed to be a little more crisp, but nevertheless they tasted amazing with the coconut chutney. We ordered two dosas, one with mutton curry and one with chicken curry! The dosas were nice and crisp. Both the curries were lip-smacking! It was spicy, the flavours were perfect, the meat was cooked well and was juicy and the whole dosa with the curry tasted heavenly! Would definitely recommend this place! I have been visiting this place quite often now and I must say, they serve some amazing food at some really reasonable rates!. Amazing service by Vimuhths and Nisansala they were really kind, helpful and friendly. I had ordered dosas which is a must try if anyone is going for the first time and the authenticity in the flavours is something to look forward to. A must try place! Highly recommended.

Unlike other Indian places, here you’ll get real spicy Indian food. The service is really good and staff is friendly. I go there almost every week. Their chicken biryani and beef devil is a good option to start with. If you fancy a drink they have an array of whiskies and rums as well.

Delicious Sri Lankan food! So great to have an authentic Sri Lankan restaurant in Cardiff. The crab curry was incredible, the dosa was perfect and crisp and the spice levels were just right to keep it enjoyable... You can ask for a bit more or less if you need.

I went very excited to try this restaurant as recommended by others but was disappointed later. The fried rice was very dry and the curry was not very well cooked. We have asked to make it hot instead they have added chilli powder on top and served as is. Less price though would not recommend !!

Simply the finest dining experience in all of Southern East Wales. A true fine cuisine with a hint of authenticity that makes for a mouth watering experience. This place is well worth the stop… I urge you to take on a Dosa!!

The food at the Curry hut is the very best South Asian food I have tried outside of Pakistan. The daal (especially) is to die for! My family loved everything they tried, and the variety of food on offer is mind boggling. Great food and...great, friendly service. We've been a couple of times and will certainly be returning. Wow! Loved this place, having been to Sri Lanka I can say this place nails the authentic flavours from the island! Often restaurants will call themselves Indian or Sri Lankan but won’t get the flavours right, this place was spot on. Really friendly waitress and the portions were big! Nice low prices too.

For the first time I came but the experience was very bad. No salt in any of the food.

Worst customer service experienced since the last time we visited the restaurant. Ordered Chicken biryaani, Paneer biryaani and Chicken Kotthu. The server said 30 minutes for a takeout, we waited for 1hr 10 mins for out food and literally stood by the counter to give the food fast. Seemed like the server forgot to give the order to the restaurant. Reached home, cold and over cooked food with absolutely no taste. Chicken was very hard, felt like it has been microwaved and reheated to deliver. Took more than an hour for an overcooked meal. Very disappointed. Will think twice before going back again.

First time eating here last night and what a great discovery, almost don’t want to tell anyone incase it gets to busy. The flavours were excellent the staff , helpful and friendly and really informative about the menu and drinks.

My wife and I went to Curry Hut for a meal for her birthday and were very disappointed. The service was awful with our starters coming 20minutes apart. We ordered different main courses and these did not come together with another long wait between. When the food did arrive, it was barely edible, over cooked and dried out as if it had been reheated many times. An all round bad experience.

Have tried most of the items in the menu, and all of them were so delicious. Good service. Can recommend this place for anyone for Sri Lankan food.

The food was amazing. I have been eating Indian food for years and I am very fussy when it comes to food . The chicken mixed with prawns bryani was the best I ever eaten . Chicken 65 too as had lots Of curry leaves . I highly recommend. My friend is Tamil and she loved it and she is from London 🤩
