The best restaurants serving Indian food in Highlands and Islands

Decidimos que necesitábamos una noche de fiesta, así que fuimos con amigos a por un curry indio. Cuando llegamos tuvimos una cálida bienvenida, era un miércoles por la noche y tenían su especial de mitad de semana. 95 por 2 platos, fuera de su menú establecido. Todos pedimos algo diferente para compartir un poco de comida entre nosotros. Todo el personal de espera era amable y nos atendieron a tiempo, pero nunca nos apuramos, así que nos sentimos relajados durante toda la comida. La comida era deliciosa, un montón de sabor, no demasiado caliente, por lo que se podía probar las especias, etc en cada plato. Con la comida no sobrecargada de grasa, solo llena de sabor. Nos gustó especialmente el pan Naan, era todo buena comida. cocinado bien. Indian Garden no es un local autorizado, pero están encantados de que traiga sus propias bebidas. Ninguno de nosotros bebimos mucho, así que esto no fue un problema para nosotros. Así que para terminar, Indian Garden es un pequeño restaurante que vende comida sabrosa a precios razonables. Used this Indian for years! Never again. Bad attitude at reception. Food was tasteless and watery, starter was supposed to be a mixed kebab and was nothing like that and included a samosa Very poor all round and won’t be back I’m afraid.

A very warm welcome from staff when we arrived on Saturday night. Didn’t book, just popped in after a visit to Skye for the day. There was an exciting array of dishes on the menu to choose from, some we’d never come across before, so we thought we’d be daring. And we are so glad that we came out of our comfort zone. The chef’s recommendations were very exciting and so tasty. All of our food was steaming hot, unbelievably fresh and just exploded with flavours. Really worth the slightly higher prices that we are normally used to. The takeaways were really busy throughout our time at the restaurant, but that did not interfere with the service bestowed on us whilst eating our meal. Would fully recommend this restaurant for both the food and the service. Can’t wait for our next visit.

Muy buen restaurante indio. La comida era genial. Menu tenía lo de siempre, pero también algunas cosas que nunca había probado antes, como Duck Tikka. El personal era genial, y el servicio de comida estaba perfectamente sincronizado. No lento, pero tampoco apurado. El restaurante tiene licencia, así que disfruté de una Cobra con mi comida.

We ate dinner here after a long day; 21:40 hours (I believe it stays open late). We were the only table occupied at that time of night (but there was a small stream of take-away customers). The welcome was friendly and warm. We had poppadoms, chicken tikka, sag aloo, Peshwari nan, beer and wine; £67. I'd go again.

As visitors to the area, we were a little apprehensive to order here after reading mixed reviews. We are so pleased we ignored the few negative reviews; we really enjoyed our food (particularly the korma, madras and saag paneer), it pleasantly surprised us and satisfied our Indian takeaway craving. Our only constructive feedback is that the onion bhaji batter could have been a little less stodgy and the lamb a little more tender. Otherwise great meals all round. Thank you Mehmood’s!

No volveremos. Lo mejor fue el entrante de cebolla bhaji. El pollo Tikka Massala era tan dulce y tenía coco en la salsa, que era insípido, como comida para bebés con trozos de pollo! El pollo en el pollo tikka patia estaba demasiado cocido y por lo tanto seco y masticable! Sin embargo, el arroz al ajo era bueno! Así que es una pena, ya que esta es nuestra comida local para llevar india, pero prefiero viajar un poco más lejos para una comida decente!

I have never tasted such a vile curry in my life I had a so called chicken tikka masala and my wife had chicken bhuna neither tasted like what it was supposed to taste like I ate 3 mouthful and the rest went in the bin will not be going back

First time eating here last night we enjoyed it so much we are going back tonight. X x x

We ordered samosa ,onion Bhaji, yellow daal , kadai paneer. Samosa was made from frozen pkt. Rest items were very good. The only guy on the counter was not cheerful and sad looking. But food made up for it

If we wanted to eat there, the service staff didn't know their own menu. The menu was dingy and sticky so we decided to go back without eating anything

I had to rate it one star because going minus isn’t possible. My order was full of uncooked chicken and a pube (yes disgusting I know!) in my rice.
