Terrible food service and they served noodles which smells awful. I will not recommend anybody to eat here. I vomited after eating food.

Hi, there is msg for all the inverness people just to aware this restaurant have ridiculous food and customer service. We came inverness as a tourist and we chose to go in hell . There was nobody to give menu and take our food , we had to walk to kitchen to place our order . The owner of restaurant was proud fully telling us i have 3 restaurant when he couldn’t manage 1 table with 4 person . We were expecting after that probably we have to take dishes to kitchen and wash them at the end no recommendation for this restaurant to go , instead of that go to COOP and get the meal deal .

Food was frozen, tastless please i request everyone save your money and do not go there, i complained in coucil about how bad the food is handled there, customer service was so bad and prices felt like we getting robbed

To even call their service bad would be to praise them. No one was there to take orders. Only 2 chefs, one of whom was the owner, could not manage even a single table. Advise in short.. save your money to no go there.

Went here for a simple paneer makhani and nan , the wait time for your orders is too long for simple dishes , nan had grainy taste , toilets not clean wouldn’t recommend , nothing Indian about it at all !!!

I ordered a vegetarian pad thai, which arrived with chicken in it. Looks like they just changed the order by removing the chicken I couldn't eat because the smell was so horrible. Fortunately they didn't count it for me

Of all the dishes we ordered only Thai green Curry was good. The wait time for being served with food in the restaurant where only two tables were occupied was horrible. No drinking water served in the table. The noodles we ordered we could only eat one spoon of it. With the stingy smell of egg. When we were complaining about it they were teaching it is the Thai cuisine. Restaurant owners please be informed customers don’t come to your restaurant to be taught on various cuisines. We are sure that plate of noodles which we didn’t eat they would serve for another customer. Many other friends said the same opinion. Not recommended

I dint like the food at all. Food served on plate was cold. Had masala dosa, noodles, daal tadka, medu vada and veg fried rice.

We couldn't eat our Thai noodles because the smell and taste were so repulsive, the staff wasn't even able to give us the ingredients used for our dish, very strange smell in the restaurant and really uncompetent servers .

The food was very poor! We arrived at 7:35pm and got our starter after 25 mins. We ordered main two curries, kerala style paratha and beef biriyani. They gave us the curries first and we didn’t get our parathas till 20 minutes later. The parathas should have at least arrived with the curries so we weren’t waiting. The biriyani wasn’t flavoursome even with the meat. The Malabar style fish curry was so poor, only tasted of chilli powder and fish had no taste. It didn’t taste like a Malabar fish curry, waste of money and time! Would not recommend this place

Great food, Lamb Rogan Josh, Goan Fish Curry, Lamb Jalfrazie, Aloo Mutter? Were all amazing. We had a selection of naans, all were wonderful. Unhurried, relaxed and friendly service.

Finally got to try here been about 6 times before and always been rammed I went on a Hot Monday evening I walks in and am like wow not a soul am thinking what’s up do I leave?? But stay and it was well worth it just about on par with Cinnamon (Inverness) food was well presented lots of it and was delicious

We were in Inverness for lunch, and looking for somewhere to eat. After being disappointed a few other places were closed, we ended up at George's. We almost didn't based on some of the other reviews, but we were really glad we did. The food was superb and very authentic. Better in fact than some we had in Kerala. Highly recommended.

This restaurant is a hidden gem! And all of us who ate here are glad we came. The food was lovely and the owner was very friendly. We mainly ate from the South Indian part of the menu and everything we tried was delicious and highly flavored. We were very nearly put off from coming here because of the negative reviews but we are all glad we give this restaurant a chance because the food was some of the nicest South Indian food we've had in the UK. If we are ever visiting Inverness again we will definitely call in here for more tasty food.

My initial thoughts were that this tired underground restaurant with slow but thoughtful service, might not work out. However when my chicken tikka masala dosa arrived all that change. It looked and tasted really good, with plenty of chicken and vegetables. I ordered medium heat, maybe I should have asked for mild! It was great. Excellent choice of Asian and European beers. Extremely wide menu.

Veg biryani is very bad , no salt no spice just plain boiled yellow rice. Very bad taste and experience.Quantity was also very small

Seated at 1830. Dinner arrived at 2000. Slowest kitchen I’ve ever experienced. One server working hard through the very poor kitchen. Food was only okay. Interestingly, they seemed to be moving take away orders fairly quickly. George’s needs much better management in the kitchen. And pay the server more, she deserves it.

Saw this spot while we were looking for a quick dinner in Inverness and we were intrigued by the Thai / South Indian combo! The food did not disappoint - I had the Garlic Chilli Masala with Pilau, which was excellent and full of flavour (and nice and spicy!) Delicious thin and crispy garlic naan too. Friendly staff and good service. The ambience could perhaps be improved - it did feel a little cold in there (though it is in a basement in Inverness!) but this didn't detract from the experience. Will look forward to visiting again for a full 3 course meal.

We went there yesterday because we were craving Indian food after being travelling for more than 2 weeks in UK. The chef is Goan so you know you are eating authentic Goan food. The manager and the chef are wonderful people and polite. Make sure to have a conversation if you like their food. I also ordered idli and dosa which was surprisingly quite good. The restaurant opens around 3pm not sure why it says closed always on google so if you are in the area make sure to go and check for yourself.

We had palak paneer with cheese and garlic naan. Taste was superb, felt like we have reached back to India. Staff and the owner is amazing as well.

Shocking service. Ordered 1950 hrs and advised it would be ready to collect in 30 mins. Waited an hour then got home to find a dish missing. Phoned up straight away at 9 and was told he was on his way to drop it off. Then waited another 45 mins for them to make an 8 minute drive. All food was now cold and tasted like it was out of a jar of Uncle Ben's. No apology. Shouldn't have bothered. Save yourself the drama and go elsewhere.

Do not go here, as the food is terrible. The staff here are no good too and have absolutely no idea how to run or work at a restaurant. The chef here has no clue what is happening in the kitchen.

********I WILL NOT VISIT AGAIN******* We went for the dinner - 6 adults and 2 children thinking we will have some nice south Indian food there. The food was expensive however not near to a nice taste. The waitress was way over too confident and got confused with the order brought 2 portions of the same quantity and said because two ppl said it she thought two portions. Anyways she took one away. The service was extremely lazy that we almost waited for 35 mins just get spring roles on the table. Naans were nice. Dosa was like tawa roti. Butter chicken was like kadhai chicken. When asked for the bill , the item that she took away was also included to which I paid attention unintentionally when I was abt to pay. She struck it off and poduced another bill. No disrespect to someone’s business but businesses should not do the same with customer’s time and money.

My partner went out to get for us some vegetables in batter with sweet & sour sauce with Jasmine rice. Was told no batter, no tempura, would some vegetables suffice - she said yes. What she brought back disappointed both of us as what we got was (or at least tasted just like) plain ordinary white rice (not Jasmine) and this was served with a slop of under-cooked peppers and a bunch of over-cooked onions, but no other vegetables!! Was it so hard to take time to cook properly some carrots, broccoli, peas or mushrooms?

This is not real traditional Thai food , If you looking for authentic Thai recipes don’t come here. Everything is wrong ingredients

We had been loyal customers to this restaurant for many years but after several highly disappointing experiences it is clear the standards of the food and the customer service are in steep decline. We were treated with dishonesty, disrespect and wild unprofessionalism and will not be using this restaurant again. There are plenty of other places in Inverness to get a very nice meal so, from our family to yours, don't have your special occasion ruined like ours was. Go elsewhere.

Ordered at 3:30 knowing delivery wouldn’t start until 17:35. Was given 18:15 delivery time. When it hadn’t been delivered by 18:30 I contacted and was told 18:40. At 19:00 I contacted again and was cut off midway through my sentence to be told it was on its way. No apology until I pointed out that 45 minutes was unacceptable. I was told the delivery driver was busy. Food arrived with vegetable fried rice not the mushroom rice ordered. Noodle dish was cold and I had to heat it up in the microwave. The lamb dish I had was nice and hot. Very disappointed and would not order again despite having many great meals at this restaurant. Customer attitude was terrible.

Do not buy from this place ordered food from here and they refused to deliver when it states delivery £35 down the drai when asked if they could refund me they refused too AVOID AT ALL COSTS will definitely not be buying anything from this place in future

Awful experience. We ordered a takeaway at 6pm and were told 1- 1.5hrs. 2 hrs later we phoned and were told it was waiting to be collected in 10 mins. It arrived at 9pm with the boxes opened on transit and cold. The delivery driver was very apologetic but it looked completely inedible and we sent it back with him. We phoned back and received a refund. Such a shame as it was a birthday treat and instead the evening was spend chasing up a food order. Will not use George's again. Wish we had read these recent reviews before ordering but it has never been this bad before.

Probably the worst delivery we have ever had. Delivery was 2 hours after ordering and the food was cold and very poor quality. Made for a very disappointing evening.

Underground restaurant. The entrance is the small door at the right side. Had lunch there and we were the only customers. The rice wasn't fresh made. It has water in. The quicker E finish the faster we'll get away. And finally if you don't try you'll never know.

Went for a weekend to Inverness with friends & came across Georges.Well we were not disappointed. Waitress was so helpful on vegan dishes. We ordered Indian & thai..I had a fish curry,friends had chicken panang,green curry. Have to say we were not disappointed best currys we ever had & that coming from Edinburgh. Definitely be again in our next visit.

A regular customer at George’s but tonight it was absolutely terrible! Never thought I’d say that. I ordered a beef kourma but I have no idea what actually arrived. Toon tong was cold and felt like it had been lying out. Very disappointed

We ordered takeaway for a family meal and was told delivery would be 1.5 - 2hrs. We waited 2.5hrs and when we phoned to chase it up were just given feeble excuses (when they finally decided to answer their phone). We never received our food in the end leaving us all very hungry and £100 out of pocket. Avoid completely if you have any sense!

Terrible food , wasted money . We went here cos they have dosa on menu, I had tikka masala with chicken ( not chicken tikka masala as most restaurants have on their menu) The chicken was scraggy and the sauce was terrible. Nan tasted sweet. Waitress asked if everything was ok and I mentioned the chicken dish was terrible, she didn’t know what say so she didn’t.

We ordered delivery and were told it would be 45-60 mins. It took 2 and a half hours. The food itself was poor to mediocre. If you wag good thai try thai dining and for Indian try tiger on the wall.

Dreadful experience. We went on a very quiet Saturday night and they were all over the option. The girls who are waiting tables clearly have no training at all - it’s a shame really as they probably received the brunt of our displeasure when in reality it’s not their fault they haven’t been shown the basics of dinner service. The girl who served our table didn’t ask us for a drinks order and didn’t know what pilau rice was (in an Indian restaurant?!) In the end we walked out after one starter, having been there nearly an hour (we ordered two, but they forgot the other one). The starter we did receive - chicken tikka - was ridiculously over-seasoned and was still coated in raw spice powder. Probably the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to. Do not go here.

This had been one of the only south indian in Inverness for a while. We gave them a lot of chances. Although they were always late in delivering the food it was always good. However our last order was the last straw. More than 2h late and the food was awful. I don't think we'll ever order there again.

The food was absolutely brilliant and would visit again. Only downside, the service whilst very friendly needs a bit of work it was very slow.

The food was really tasty, the ambience was wonderful, very friendly. Pleasantly surprised to get the authentic taste in a city where we had least expected.

Made a reasonably large order just over £90, turned out to be extremely disappointed. The soup was sour the Thai green curry is honestly the worst I've ever had and I love Thai green curry. I couldn't even eat it. Plain noodles full of veg and noodles were cut up for some reason. Pakora was basic but at least we could eat that. Egg fried rice has diced veg in it but that actually tasted awesome! Honestly had a terrible experience with majority of the food ordered essentially everything has been wasted which when spending just over £90 that's a bit ridiculous. Couldn't complain to much about delivery time sure would have been good to have a heads up it was gonna be a bit late but had. A reasonably sized order so 🤷

Looking for an authentic fish dishes then you are at the right place. Can’t describe in words how good the food was and the hospitality of George. Highly recommended. Will visit again soon with family.

We walked by this place hidden in basement and decided to give it a try. Turns out it was the right decision! Best Tom kha gai we haven’t had in ages. And the green curry, fish curry too, flavourful! Definitely recommend if you’re craving for some belly warming comfort food through the raining days in Inverness.

Authentic Indian taste. We went there to try out sea food and trust me you can’t get better than here. We ordered Prawns chilly and fish fry along with Goan Fish curry and appam, and it was of the best we have ever eaten. Gives you feeling of home made food. Highly recommend it.

Having eaten there, we are now wondering if some of the bad reviews were in fact just other restaurants trying to push the guy out of business. His food is excellent. Not just good - it's exceptional. He's friendly, good natured and it's fun to be there. He deserves a better place for a restaurant, but made the best out of what is there. Again - the food is absolutely amazing and if you allow him to simply recommend things you will not be disappointed. Quality, friendy people and fun. What else is there.

Very nice food but service really slow, no harm to staff but appeared to be only one waitress. Tables are very close to each other, no privacy. Hubby struggled to get through to the toilet without asking people to stop eating and move in so he could pass. Unlikely to return which is a shame as the food is so nice.

Pros: - Only authentic Indian restaurant in the city, others so called Indian restaurants are Bangladeshi restaurants - Sambhar has a good mix of vegetables so it is filling - The staff is very polite and helpful - You get homely feeling looking at the ambience - Right in the middle of the city center Cons- - Very expensive, the dosa costs around 12 quids which is expensive than even some of the popular London restaurants - The taste is average as it is more of a Goan restaurant than an authentic South Indian restaurant, also serve Thai so I am not too sure if they are confused about their identity as a restaurant -

We came here on Family holiday and felt like home in here. Excellent food and superb hospitality. The food is cooked fresh and is extremely delicious. The service is prompt. The owner George is such a talented person catering to the personal needs of the customers and giving one to one service. We liked this restaurant so much that we wanted to eat here everyday. The fish, meat and poultry is all very fresh. Highly recommended. Please come and have one meal at least.

Our starter came after our main course so I cancelled it, a half pint of lager cost £5:25 so at £10:50 a pint it has to be the most expensive beer I've ever had, ww never enjoyed any part of the meal, so obviously we won't be going back.
