Some bits are frozen like (samosas) - just don't order them. Everything else is spectacular.

Busy as expected on a Friday night and they managed to squeeze us in. Good menu choice and prompt service. My only criticism is there could have been a couple more bits of chicken and lamb in our dishes but the food was tasty. Would visit again.

Got charged £63 for less than £40 worth of food, didnt notice until i got back to the hotel and saw what was transacted on my card. The food was mediocre for indian food (although I am spoilt working in the middle east for asian food) and the staffs attitude was pretty poor. I would not reccommend eating here at all as they are scammers

The food tastes lovely and I’ve been eating food from here for years, however the last few times the meat has been undercooked, I’d had given my whole family food poisoning. The food tastes great though, the staff were also a little rude and made me feel a bit uncomfortable. However the resturaunt is clean and tidy which is always nice

We had carry out. The lady taking the order was very nice. Unfortunately the pakora could not be eaten as it had been overcooked. Bajis marginally better. King Prawn main was good, as was the garlic naan. Chicken biryani sauce had lots of potato, green beans and carrots which didn't appeal to my husband at all. Overall disappointing.

I visited tonight, on a week-long walking holiday in the area. Really friendly staff, good menu recommendations (I had the lamb (very tender and rich) naga, which was a house special and a perfect balance of the heat and the flavour of naga chillies. Just right portion sizes as well (had the mixed kebab starter, no leftovers and not bloated either). Highly recommended!

I order 2 of the most expensive mains and starters on menu. Disappointing is all I have to say. Food is not bad but not worth cost. I would expect great restaurant quality Indian food but nott the case. I would not revisit and I have that luxury as in Aviemore as tourist from Glasgow.

One of the nicest curries I've ever had

On holiday in Aviemore and not much choice Indian takeaway wise so chose here. Came in and ordered a Tikka Masala and Pashwari Naan with dips. Firstly, got charged for the dips but they didn't get put in. Secondly the food was just disgustingly bland. The tikka had next to no flavour and the naans were just meh. It's a very expensive place too, guessing it's the standard 'Aviemore tax'. Needless to say we won't be returning.

Really poor food. Bland, over cooked chicken and undercooked naan. Just cook at home if you want a takeaway - don’t go here unless they improve dramatically. Believe the reviews. £43 for 2 curries and a couple of sides. It’s shame that a captive audience gets served such bland food for city centre prices.

Out with the family this eve and we all really enjoyed our Indian meal. Veg and vegan options appreciated. Delicious meal full of authentic flavours, fresh coriander, generous portions, attentive staff. Recommend :).

Just got in for a break in Highlands first time with the wife and daughter Food ok, Service absolutely dreadful! Not attentive at all rushing you ever since entering the restaurant. Not once made eye contact to see if there was anything we need during all the time we was in there. Ask for desert menu got the bill instead, no apology for that. Won't be going again they fully know its a tourist area so take the money and move on to the next customer. Absolute Disgrace. Good luck keeping it going as a business your gonna need it. A

Perfectly decent Indian restaurant, service was prompt and food tasty. I would probably avoid the peshwari naan which my friend had and was far too sweet and a radioactive red colour! Most negative reviews for this place seem to be trying to compare it to top flight Indian restaurants in major cities. This is Aviemore, not Birmingham. It is probably more expensive than the quality and environment justifies, but you are in the middle of nowhere, so set expectations appropriately and you won't be disappointed.

I'm deeply enraged by the racist conduct of several staff members at that place. It's absolutely appalling to witness fellow Indians perpetuating racism within their own community. And don't even get me started on their so-called "Indian" food; it's a complete farce! It's nothing but a cheap imitation of authentic Indian cuisine, and it's beyond disappointing to see them deceiving unsuspecting people who may not be familiar with the real thing. Those who claim to enjoy the food there have no clue what genuine Indian food should taste like, and it's just heartbreaking to witness them getting away with this deceitful behavior. This injustice and dishonesty are truly disheartening!

I am absolutely furious about the racist behavior displayed by multiple staff members at that place. It's appalling to witness fellow Indians being racist towards their own community. Moreover, their so-called "Indian" food is a complete joke! We have visited this restaurant a couple of times now so thought best to review as they do seem to get some quite bad submissions. Firstly the pros:- staff are friendly, food is delicious especially the curry’s, we had popadums with mixed condiments, starters, curry’s for mains with rice and bread and the children some ice cream for dessert. As for the negatives which are only really minor but worth a mention:- staff go into auto mode when you walk in, someone seats you, another is the popadum salesman, then another takes your order and yes yet another serves you, no consistency. Portion wise, the curry’s were substantial however nann bread was very small. Also the price is partly in the high side due to portion size of the sides and things like a bottle of Cobra being £6.50. All in all a nice experience and tasty curries. Unfortunately since my last visit I have had to make an addition to my review and amend the rating. We were a party of 8 with 6 of our curries very bland, unseasoned and lacking any spice whatsoever ever though upon ordering, we asked for our dishes to be extra hot. The curries were vindaloo, South Indian garlic chilli dishes that should have been hot as standard yet even after requesting extra heat. When we informed the staff on more than one occasion the waiters just seemed to giggle and say, “ooh you like spicy, yes?” We asked for chopped chilli’s and chilli flakes which we got but yet still not acknowledgment. I am sorry but won’t be back again

Simply aswome Indian restaurant in Scotland. Ample space delicious 😋 cusine. Specially their mango chutney served with pappad. Naga chicken was bit spicy. Garlic pulav , kulchas , butter chicken , grilled chicken everything tasted superb after long days of Scottish food I made my indian taste bud satisfied😋🫶 never expected this much from a scotish Indian restaurant.well done ✅👍🌟 team thammana.

We had a good tasty meal for two with a couple of Cobra beers and felt happy with it all. Worth a visit if you're in Aviemore.

Wir suchten leckeres indisches Take away und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Freundlich bedient und pünktlich fertig zur Abholung. Britische indische Küche ist immer ein wenig authentischer als in Deutschland. Wir fanden alles lecker.

Visited at weekend hoping for decent Indian meal. Very disappointed, grumpy service, mediocre food, and expensive as well. Sloppy sauces not spicy, a Dahl which was forgotten then after two reminders arrived it looked like creamy soup , asked and was told that’s what dhal is like. Yeah because we have never eaten anywhere else ? Left dhal and told them why, still charged. Only conversation funny enough was when bill came and he said “ it’s £56.. how much do you want to pay?” Eh, surprise aint no tip going on here mate. Avoid, avoid… then avoid again !! Shame as Aviemore busy and folk need to eat!

We visited Tamanna restaurant over the weekend and had a very bad experience and would not recommend anyone to visit it when you're in AVIMORE. The lady on the reception was very rude. She was scolding kids which we found very disturbing. Before taking the order the waiter started mentioning his previous customers spilling the rice and was mentioning that make sure your kids don't do that, this was very offensive for all our family members.

Staff was not happy that we only bought side dishes, As vegitarians rice and side dishes are the best options. Pilau Rice was terrible it was just plain boiled rice with no spices or flavour. the mushroom was ok.

Its a fraudulent restaurant. They give poppadom which I felt is complementary but they charge 11£ for that. Without order they give it. I support Indian restaurants as an Indian but the first time I gave a hard review for them. They are frauds. Don't go there. Unnecessary 130£ bill. Main course was very below expectations. The quantity of bhaji was more but the taste is not good enough. First time in my life I eat kulcha roti which had onions. It was like onion uttapam. Service is also very poor. Initially, we had thought we will eat a starter and main course in the hotel and biryani at home so that we parcel biryani. But later after tasting, we said to cancel one of the biryani which I thought could be manageable. But they refused. Apart from the starter(chicken tandoori), nothing is good. NO TASTE, NO SERVICE, AND NO HOSPITALITY.

Great food and fast service (we were a table of 22 people). We increased our booking from 8 to 22 people with an hour notice. Would highly recommend.

Great place, staff very friendly and helpful. Nice restaurant but we had a takeaway which was very nice a bit pricey but worth it.

Where to start. Extremely disappointed with overall experience. Food was mediocre and over priced, and at £6.95 for a bottle of beer and £4.50 for a can of Diet Coke, I had greater expectations! Charged £11.40 for poppadoms we thought were complimentary as we didn’t ask for them. Got my meal wrong twice. Asked for a spicy dish with chicken tikka, lamb tikka and prawns in it. Got a dish with just plain chicken in a really sweet sauce. They took it away and brought back the exact same dish with 2 bits of lamb and 2 tiny prawns in it. They had put some spice in it which made it unpalatable. Finally got the right dish, which was really nice but by then everyone else had finished eating. So for 3 starters, 4 main courses and a couple of drinks each, for a party of 4 the cost was £181.90. This took into account not charging me for my main dish. Extremely expensive for average food and average service. Will definitely not be back, which is such a pity considering we are in Aviemore at least 6 times a year!

First time we have had an Indian take away since pre Covid, Well I am glad we Chose the Tamanna, chicken tikka masala, pilau rice and peshwari Nan. Not to mention the complimentary Poppadums and sauces.every mouth full was delicious. Staff are so nice and chatty, even gave some chocolates to take home for the grandkids ( sorry grandkids 🥴) highly recommend.

First time visiting Tamanna and we were really happy with food and service. Portions were very generous, staff friendly and helpful. Hope to return on our next visit to Aviemore.

We've visited this restaurant many times on our yearly visit to Aviemore and have always enjoyed it. We visited this year and were shocked by how much the prices had gone up!If you look online a chicken dupiaza is £10.95 but in the restaurant £14.95!!! Vegetarian side dishes £7.95 and the smallest I have ever seen!!! Naan bread£4.50!!! It has become very expensive!!! I know we have high inflation but their increases are way above inflation.Very ordinary surroundings and service for Central London prices.

We had high hopes going for dinner here after having a few local drinks. That soon changed pretty rapidly when we realised we had walked into a tourist trap with no standards of service or manners. Staff attitudes were pretty bad when the price is well over the top for mediocre Indian food at best. 2 curries, 2 rice, 1 naan and 2 drinks £70 Food was pretty good but I am struggling to say anything more positive. Raised a question when paying the bill at the cost for the waiter to start talking in another language to what looked to be the owner about me. There is a nice helpful Scottish girl working there which is the only positive thing I can find to say. No goodbye, have a good night or thanks for coming when leaving a pretty much empty restaurant. Service is terrible and when we do return to Aviemore for a break, we will 100% not be going to Tamanna Indian. That is the first time in a long time I have walked out a restaurant feeling pretty pee’d off with ourselves giving them our time and money.

We has visited this place for a meal in one of our recent escapades in Aviemore Quite a few things wrong with this place: 1) The person attending to us was absolutely rude and borderline racist. As an Indian, the last thing I expected was this behavior in an Indian restaraunt..Ironically there was a lovely lady in the team who was very nice but the partially bald fella and the bearded server with him were plain rude. 2) Having stayed in Scotland Indian food serves in most restaurants are not authentic but this was half cooked chicken.. saving grace was the dal. 3) I was there with 2 other families. I have wee ones that needed the nappy change.. when I asked where I can change the nappy, the same head server ( baldy fella) was very rude. No offense to other folks giving good reviews.. but simple thing that I got out is that they dnt knw the taste of good Indian food..so whatever sweet version this very poor restaurant serves is considered good. Being from India, I take a personal offense because one of the most basic and most important thing taught in our culture is service and being rude is totally against it. Anyone looking for Indian food while in Aviemore.. take a 40 min drive to Tiger on the wall in Inverness.. you’ll get to know what the real Indian meal and authentic service looks like

Went to dine with my family and we all had a lovely time. The food was delicious and you could taste all the different flavours. Costumer service was also excellent and everyone was really kind and welcoming. Would definitely recommend :).

Had read mixed reviews - we were pleasantly surprised by warm hospitality and great food, especially so for vegetarian options. I ordered paneer jaipur for main, shared sag aloo and bhindi bhaji side dishes, and peshwari naan; thoroughly enjoyed all. Generous portions, timely serving! Complementary spirit when paying for the bill too! Prices were steep, about £28 each (hardly ordering lavishly), but perhaps norm for eating out in Aviemore these days.

You can taste the quality! My partner and I really enjoyed our dinner here. Great service.

Really dont recommend this resturant , disgusting greasy pakora with runny uncooked batter , bought in pre made samosas that were bland , very small nanbread that didn't feel authentic and 2 flavourless main courses that would at best be described as disappointing. I mean how hard can it be unless the restaurant has just given up trying

Ordered takeaway pakora and chips. Don’t order chicken pakora it’s basically chicken in batter with a sauce, not the best - no tandoori coating… veg pakora not the best either. On the plus side, although we didn’t eat them the curries on the tables that people were being served looked OK.
