Came here this evening with my partner, I must say we were reluctant after reading the reviews. But wanted to try it for ourselves. What a disappointment, the waiter was unhelpful and disinterested when questioned about our mixed starter?? The vegetable pakora was the same as the onion bhaji, just a different shape! The one piece of lamb and chicken each was awful too. Quality of the main course wasn't the best either. Would definitely not recommend it.

Very nice meal with good service.

Ordered online, food was ready as soon as we arrived and the staff were very polite and friendly. However when we got home the pot of mango sauce was open and all over everything. After finally sitting down to eat we realised our drinks were missing! £3 for two cans was steep enough and we didn't even get them!!

Delicious! We stayed in Aviemore for 4 days and ate out on each evening, and this was my favourite restaurant! They didn’t offer us starters which weren’t on the menu, and they majorly skimped on the ice for the room temp drinks, but aside from that, I was happy.

Pretty damn good. Storytime: so, I came in during storm eowyn, and I came in wanting a properly spicy biriyani for a takeaway, and I got a properly spicy one. Was it spicer than I expect? Hell yeah, but I did ask for it and they delivered, very satisfied, as it warmed me up after the cold winds of storm Eowyn. I just wish poppadoms could be an add-on option food wise.

Food was lovely, fresh flavours and nicely presented. Staff were very attentive and exceptionally helpful in suggesting heat levels for dishes (just because it says ‘hot’ doesn’t mean it has to be hot - happy to accommodate less spice on dishes we liked the sound of and it made all the difference. Garlic Naan bread was soft and exceptionally good. Chicken Tikka Bhuna was flavourful and the South Indian garlic chilli chicken equally good. Restaurant was quite empty when we arrived, but it was filling up with more customers as we were finished eating - serves late. Lits of comments of ‘delicious’ being overheard - glad I didn’t pay too much attention to some of the less positive reviews! Pricier than some other Indian Restaurants, but putting that down to Aviemore area costs. All in all, a good option when most places had closed their kitchens by 8pm (even though they advertised serving later!)

I recently dined here and it was a highly disappointing experience. To start, the manager was incredibly rude and dismissive when we brought up concerns about our meal. This kind of behavior is unacceptable and made us feel very unwelcome. As for the food, being Indian, I can confidently say this was the worst Indian food I’ve ever had. The dishes lacked authenticity, flavor, and freshness—it felt like no effort was put into the preparation. To make matters worse, the food was overpriced for the quality offered. I expected a much better experience given the high prices, but it was a complete letdown. I would not recommend this restaurant and hope the management reconsiders both their food quality and customer service approach.

Halal . And saviour in the Christmas Day . The best part it’s halal . Just 5 mins walking from Aviemore Macdonald resort . The manager at the restaurant is also very friendly . All the stuffs are friendly .

Absolutely great curry.. surprised that it isn't 5 stars! Came here on a Monday night.. only ones in there and the service plus the food was incredible. My partner had the garlic chilli chicken and I had the Jalfrezi. Highly recommended if you like spicy food!

The food here tastes nothing like Indian food. Somehow the butter paneer was… sweet? First time I’ve had sweet Indian food, the naan tasted nothing like how it’s supposed to taste. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place, the negative reviews tell the truth.

We read some mixed reviews and thought we would try. Not disappointed atall. 2 brilliant Currys and spiced onions. Service was great and friendly. We had jalfrezzi and garlic masala. Would definitely recommend. We have always been fussy with our Currys as from Glasgow and always get a great curry there. Well done Tamanna. Will be back.

Food and service was absolutely amazing. So so good. We had the Korma, Madras and Peshawari Nann and it was very tasty with loads of flavour.

The best paneer I've ever had in a restaurant. It was wonderful.

Simply outstanding! We did not expect to find a pearl like this in Aviemore, but agreed once we'd tasted the main course that this is probably the best restaurant in all of Aviemore. We have had curry in most major towns across Scotland and this was easily among the best Indian we've ever had. Fresh, well made and super tasty. The staff was welcoming, accomodating and friendly. I'd give it a 10/10, but this one goes to 11!

Good, flavourful food with fast and friendly service. I think the curries were a little light on veg / protein (lots of gravy). One note: I really don’t think the food colouring is needed and it’s sort of strange.

The service was good but the food was average for the price. It’s quite expensive and would have been better especially the veg briyani.

We ordered a takeaway for four online. The food was ready for collection at the advised time. We got it home and it was on the whole excellent, especially the Lamb Korma. Unfortunately when we got the food on the table we noticed that the most expensive dish on our order (chicken tikka masala) was missing and had been replaced with a side of curry sauce. Not much to be done by then (we’d driven home and started the beer) but to carry on regardless. The meal was still delicious & the quantities adequate. But it wasn’t what we ordered and we paid for more than we got.

The manager here treated us (we were a group of five) rudely while being courteous and welcoming to local patrons. This discrimination is unacceptable. We won't return and advise others to avoid it.

Tasty Indian food - very quick and attentive service. Also helpful and friendly staff as we had our baby with us (there is a baby changing area etc.)

Rude customer behaviour, Poor quality foods.

Had a takeaway where we ordered 2 starters, 4 main courses and sides. Received complimentary poppadoms and all dishes were of a high standard. Definitely recommended.

We got take out and I can only speak to the food I ordered, but the chickpea chana masala and the Peshwari naan were absolutely delicious. I will definitely order the next time I am in Aviemore!

Main server was very rude, others were much better. Very overpriced for what they offer. Food did not taste very fresh, and not much flavour. Only good thing is that it was open.

Read mixed reviews about this place. We ate there last night and the meals and service were great. We all enjoyed our meals that were well made and very tasty. One of our group was allergy aware and was fully catered for. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

We’ve been for many curry’s this summer and none can beat this one! The food is so good and the service is friendly and welcoming. Can’t wait to return!

To be honest, all the other places were fully booked. Unfortunately, Tamanna is not very cozy, but we were surprised by the food: good quality, good taste! The waiter was also very friendly! Really a surprise, I would go again.

Staff was really rude they should have been nicer to their own community customers, but they were rather rude I think they only like English customs (sorry to say this word English, but this is how we felt) There was no other option, so we had to eat Very rude all off, I will never ever go there again Never recommend for Asians The manager was trying to be oversmart, but he was not

The quantities were correct, as was the taste for the samosas. The mango chutney was not bad. The raitha was quite disappointing, just yogurt and cumin without any vegetable condiments. The cheese naan was too greasy, and no cheese taste. On the other hand, the mint chocolate offered with the bill was very good.

Good food in Aviemore and good alternative if you are sick of fish & chips when visiting Scotland 😉

Well balanced flavours and good portions

We had a takeaway from here - Very expensive, not alot of food provided and food was cold, and we were asked to wait another 5 mins, so when we got our food (2 mins later) and it was cold, it made no sense. Really disappointed. They also got an order wrong.

I agree with Craig Robertson's review. Food was far to expensive for what you got. Cold considering we had to be asked to wait. Our house is only 2 minutes away from restaurant so wasn't like we had far to go with it.

This is probably the best restaurant I have ever been to. The staff was so nice and friendly, they were very welcoming to me and my family. But not only is the staff nice the food is even better! I absolutely recommend this place for people who wants a bit of sweet and spice.

Brilliant restraunt cannot fault it. Staff were very attentive. Service was brilliant and the food was amazing. Well worth a visit.

It's only saving grace was it was open (9pm on a Monday night). Meat was bland, food not well spiced. Worst Indian food I've had in the UK. Service was good. Oh and the poppadoms were very overpriced - don't say yes when they suggest them, they're not free.

Leaving this good review as they deserve better than 3.5 stars. The food was so good we forgot to take photos, but the Masala and Jaipuri were delicious. It was plenty of food, and the service was very nice.

Went here for the first time despite many holidays in Aviemore. Was told good things about it but all four of us were pretty underwhelmed by the food. For a Monday early evening it was quite busy but the staff were very attentive and quick. Food arrived quickly, I had a house specialty Lamb, chicken and king prawn in a medium hot lentil sauce. I could only find one prawn in the dish and while I am not a fan of very hot curries I would not describe it as medium hot, mild and not unpleasant but pretty bland. One friend had king prawn masala which was excellent but both ladies found their food pretty bland, one having a fish and spinach dish the other a chicken masala dish. Sadly this is the only Indian in Aviemore, so we shall look further afield for south Asian cuisine on future excursions to the highlands.

After a very long day of traveling, spotted this gem of a place on the way back from An Lochan Uaine. Was greeted straight away and found us a table immediately even though they were really busy. Looking through the menu, there was a variety of different dishes and chef specials. As always I compare the food to Greater Manchester area as there is a lot of competition there. And I was not disappointed. The food was spot on. The flavours, the spices, presentation and the service was just 10/10. It’s just amazing to find these Restaurants especially in little isolated areas. All the dishes were actually really well priced if not cheaper than most places. I think I’ve found my number 1 go to place to eat when in the Aviemore area. Only remembered to take 1 picture of my food but ordered other dishes as there were too many delicious dishes to choose from and was not disappointed with any of them.

We had take out while in Aviemore on holiday. Well it was delicious and so good we had it again before we left. We had chicken tikka masala, onion bhaji and rice. Good quality, tasty and quick service- highly recommend

Been there several times. The food is decent, though I wish it was spicier - but it is a matter of taste. The service, however is kind of odd. Each (!) time I visited they mixed up my order somehow. It becomes even funny. Waiter touches my naan bread to check the temperature. They don’t change the cutlery between courses unless you ask, so you end up using the same fork for sauce, rice and main dishes. It seems like as there is not much “Indian food” competitors for miles around they feel a bit more relaxed in terms of service than it should be

Restaurant staff were very welcoming, we asked for Punjabi style lamb with chille, the food came out perfect! Couldn’t fault it. Will visit again when travelling to Scotland! Thank you Mr Choudry for an excluding dining experience..

Went here looking forward to a good takeaway. We very disappointed, curry was orderd to be medium hot. Well it was so hot we couldn't eat it. The thing for us was the price it was so over priced for what it was for a meal for two. We went out for a Sunday lunch and it was £20 pound cheaper with drinks. It was mediocre at best food. I definitely wouldnt go again! Save your money for somthing worth it. I was also over charged for this and only rectified when question.

Had a brilliant experience, went with daughter for a carry out meal. The staff were extremely friendly and the food was outstanding. This place is defenetly worth a visit.

Absolutely amazing food. Highly recommend the fish lazeez and sag paneer, best we’ve ever had and we love Indian food. Great place, the luxury is in the taste!

I enjoyed the curry but I felt the prices were expensive. A beer with your meal is nearly £7 and it's not even draught.

Some bits are frozen like (samosas) - just don't order them. Everything else is spectacular.

Busy as expected on a Friday night and they managed to squeeze us in. Good menu choice and prompt service. My only criticism is there could have been a couple more bits of chicken and lamb in our dishes but the food was tasty. Would visit again.

Got charged £63 for less than £40 worth of food, didnt notice until i got back to the hotel and saw what was transacted on my card. The food was mediocre for indian food (although I am spoilt working in the middle east for asian food) and the staffs attitude was pretty poor. I would not reccommend eating here at all as they are scammers

The food tastes lovely and I’ve been eating food from here for years, however the last few times the meat has been undercooked, I’d had given my whole family food poisoning. The food tastes great though, the staff were also a little rude and made me feel a bit uncomfortable. However the resturaunt is clean and tidy which is always nice

We had carry out. The lady taking the order was very nice. Unfortunately the pakora could not be eaten as it had been overcooked. Bajis marginally better. King Prawn main was good, as was the garlic naan. Chicken biryani sauce had lots of potato, green beans and carrots which didn't appeal to my husband at all. Overall disappointing.

I visited tonight, on a week-long walking holiday in the area. Really friendly staff, good menu recommendations (I had the lamb (very tender and rich) naga, which was a house special and a perfect balance of the heat and the flavour of naga chillies. Just right portion sizes as well (had the mixed kebab starter, no leftovers and not bloated either). Highly recommended!

I order 2 of the most expensive mains and starters on menu. Disappointing is all I have to say. Food is not bad but not worth cost. I would expect great restaurant quality Indian food but nott the case. I would not revisit and I have that luxury as in Aviemore as tourist from Glasgow.

One of the nicest curries I've ever had

On holiday in Aviemore and not much choice Indian takeaway wise so chose here. Came in and ordered a Tikka Masala and Pashwari Naan with dips. Firstly, got charged for the dips but they didn't get put in. Secondly the food was just disgustingly bland. The tikka had next to no flavour and the naans were just meh. It's a very expensive place too, guessing it's the standard 'Aviemore tax'. Needless to say we won't be returning.

Really poor food. Bland, over cooked chicken and undercooked naan. Just cook at home if you want a takeaway - don’t go here unless they improve dramatically. Believe the reviews. £43 for 2 curries and a couple of sides. It’s shame that a captive audience gets served such bland food for city centre prices.

Out with the family this eve and we all really enjoyed our Indian meal. Veg and vegan options appreciated. Delicious meal full of authentic flavours, fresh coriander, generous portions, attentive staff. Recommend :).

Just got in for a break in Highlands first time with the wife and daughter Food ok, Service absolutely dreadful! Not attentive at all rushing you ever since entering the restaurant. Not once made eye contact to see if there was anything we need during all the time we was in there. Ask for desert menu got the bill instead, no apology for that. Won't be going again they fully know its a tourist area so take the money and move on to the next customer. Absolute Disgrace. Good luck keeping it going as a business your gonna need it. A

Food is not prepared in an authentic way. All cuisine tastes the same.

Food was good and a bit different from Indian food in Glasgow but we are not in Glasgow and it was definitely good enough to go back
