Spice Tandoori in Highland

Very delicious meal. Excellent service. We ordered papadams, the pickle tray, lamb Jalfrezie, lamb Satkora, and they recommended the Peshwari Naan. We had leftover food for the next day and so we ordered another Peshwari naan to be taken along with it as it was delicious. The food was hot, well spiced, and great value. Staff were helpful and friendly. Will come back when next in Wick.

Had a dinner yesterday at this place, and the food was pretty average. Butter chicken was good, and the restaurant special was not special at all. Tried 2 curries, naan, rice. The restaurant is a bit overpriced as well. But there are not many options in the town so probably you can just eat here.

Does what it says on the tin. Consistently good food. Friendly service. Great spot for a meal. Would recommend.

We ordered a take away menu for 2 people. It was well packed. However I can honestly say it is perhaps the worst Indian meal we have ever had and ended up throwing most of it away. The samosas were not authentic and we're like something you buy from a cheap frozen food shop. The prawns in the Prawn Curry were very small tasteless shrimps. Both curries were bland to taste too. The place had no other diners in, so there was no need to serve something as poor as this and for certain, we will not return!

Went with my wife and brother for evening meal. The king prawn korma one of the most costly on the menu rice was barely warm and arrived five minutes after the bowl of King prawn korma was placed on the table both were barely warm. I also had a soda water and lime they charged £3.95 for that. The top table cover was clean but the under that was only noticed as we were leaving was absolutely manky. The young girl that served the food was very good I would have to say but when I went up to pay for the food the person I take it that he was the manager was a bit rude. Unfortunately a very disappointing experience

The 1 star reviews are a bit harsh, and the 5 star reviews a bit over the top. Food was tasty but not amazing. It was served promptly and hot. The main waiters service left a little to be desired but the younger lady was friendly.

Almost £17 for their Tandoori special salmon which turned out to be frozen salmon in a tikka sauce that tasted horrible, ridiculous. Complained but nothing was done about it. The other meals and accompaniments we had weren't much better. We were rushed out too. Really poor. Won't be returning.

Nice place with take away option. I ordered vegetable beriyani and naan. For me this dish was to sweet. I don’t understand, why these dishes must be added with sugar. Despite that the service was really good at the restaurant. It took 15 minutes to prepare the food. From the restaurant you can look into the harbor and the river. A parking lot is on the other road side.

It has been two months since I came to the UK from Hong Kong, the city of gourmet food, and this was the most delicious meal I had.

I was on holiday near by and ordered food to take out, when I got there the guy was rude. Also the food is not Indian it’s Bangladeshi. There is nothing to be ashamed of Bangladeshi food, it’s just different but most brits can’t tell the difference so they get by selling it as Indian food. And by the way food colouring is not an ingredient in Indian or Bangladeshi cosine. If the food looks too red don’t eat it it’s not good for you, the closest thing to food colour in Indian food is turmeric and it’s yellow. That was a few days ago then, today I did a google search to find an Indian restaurant nearby and only these guys are in the area so I checked the opening times on google it says 11am to 10pm so I called to confirm, the guy on the other end was rude and told me it was closed, I tried to help and said “on google it is saying it’s open” so that they know and update the information. The guy was rude again and told me to check on the website. Then he came to his senses and asked me if I’m going to place an order. Of course I didn’t because I may run into him at the restaurant. Some business should chose their employees better. It’s probably still open because there is no other option in the area.

Food was very good. But: Sider was out. Beer ran out. There was also only one bottle of red wine, strange 🙄🙃😎

Excellent dinner! Both the chicken and lamb were super good, and we completed our plates according to the chef's advice. I have to say it's one of the best Indian restaurant I tried in Scotland. Also, the atmosphere is cozy and the waiters are very nice. Definitely recommended!

We had a takeaway whilst on holiday and it was one of the nicest we’ve had. So nice we got another takeaway later in the week which was even better. Quick service, reasonably priced and extremely tasty.

Unreal midweek curry here tonight! Best in Highland by a country mile. Every part was 10/10 and I had the chicken Jinga which I've not had before but it was so delicious with a really developed flavour. Rice was extremely flavoursome and fluffy but dry in a good way!

Had a lovely meal here tonight, the food was fab. My sister's meal was too spicy for her and the lovely waiter was very happy to change it for a milder version which she thoroughly enjoyed. Would definitely recommend this lovely restuarant 🙂

I was really disappointed with the restaurant Spice tandoori at Wick. I was offered poor service. I dined in with my family yesterday. The chicken tikka was given straight from the fridge and it was not warm enough. It is supposed to be piping hot. After I said it’s not warm, he came up with another plate of chicken tikka from the microwave oven. The restaurant claims it to be cooked in clay oven. But they lied to me literally. I have a cooking experience of 10 years and how could a clay oven cooked meat would be so cold. It didn’t stop here, one big piece of Tandoori chicken, I ordered had a very bad smell and stale. In order to avoid arguments with the restaurant, I left it on the plate and informed them. I don’t wanted to feed my little ones with that stale chicken. So please be cautious in this restaurant. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. The 1 star is for the river view.

We ordered 3 different sabji and all of them taste same. Felt like they used same curry and just added paneer in one and chicken in others. We ordered mixed pakora which had really bad smell, usually comes when you fry them in oil which is in use from long time. Food color added in everything starting from Pakora better, roti, naan, veggie sabji, non-veg sabji. Really horrible experience. Would not recommend this place to anyone who knows authentic asian curry taste.

By far the worst Indian food I've ever eaten around the world. No taste/spices whatsoever, everything is soaked in a disgusting sweet sauce. Beware of all the fake reviews and avoid this place at all cost.

Good service, good portion of dishes.

The curry was made fresh and to my standard which is top level stuff. The rice was soft and i ate lots of it with the special sauce that the Indian man made infront of me. The waiter Zhivko was nice and he said Hello Hello Hello is your curry :-)

We overnachten in Wick in de Camps bar. Een van de eettips van de eigenaar was dit Indiase restaurant (50 m naast de bar). We hebben er lekker gegeten. Heel veel keuze uit de menukaart waarbij we ook genoten hebben van een wijntje. Redelijk geprijsd en vriendelijk personeel.

I'm shocked by the recent 1 star reviews, as my boyfriend and I had a delicious meal here! Dishes had so much flavour, really tender chicken and the lemon rice (which was so much more than that, full of cashews, see picture) was incredible. Service was good and food reasonably priced, especially as portions were generous. If we weren't just passing through we would have gone back to try other dishes as there is an extensive menu.

Can eat in or out. Wait is about 20 mins for food. Waist is definitely worth it.

Tried to dine in for early dinner. 4 adults with kids. Very rude front staff. Been to many restaurant but apparently we need to order everything at once at first. Front staff needs to know the basics of customer service. Horrible horrible. Recommend that no one visits this place until they learn how to treat customers or at least a change in the front house staffing. Not apologetic even one bit. If you want to be treated badly and rude, then please make a visit to this place.

Rude service, ordered a butter chicken, did not have any allergen advice on the menu, had peanuts in the food without any prior information. The only allergen warning is one A4 sheet saying “Please be aware of allergens” on one of the walls no where near the tables. No warning on the menu. Server was really rude about it saying “Why didn’t you ask before” in an angry manner, probably because it doesn’t say anything on the menu. Flies everywhere landing in drinks and on food. Server was really patronising about ordering something I’m allergic too even though nothing on the menu said anything about peanuts, or any kind of allergens, despite it being a legal requirement. Apart from that the thai lagar was nice, but would not recommend for anyone.

Worst food ever had. Paneers are like rubber. They mixed red color to all food in such a amount that you can fall sick. Even Peshawari Nan looks blood red after food color. Rice vegetable had rotten vegetable mixed. Tasteless, unhygienic unauthentic food.

So many things wrong about this place! Firstly, the waiter, he said he would only take our order once so get the whole order ready at one time as he won’t come back again! Secondly - the food! We ordered three different chicken dishes! All tasted the same! And had so much food colour added that it didn’t get off our hands for another day! The coke we ordered was absolutely flat as if the bottle had been lying around for ages! Really disappointed with our experience there!

Decided to go here, even though the reviews were mixed, ended up being a great meal, staff good, food good, whole experience good, if you fancy a curry in wick definitely recommend, we were visiting over night, and love curries, and we wasn’t disappointed.

oft absolute stinking . food was terrible and stale . spice onions where like 5 days old and so dry .only good thing was the bottled drink as nothing draft . defo not proper indian but a pair of chancers . food not even properly marinated .and thos is coming from someone who has eat in over 1000 different indian restrauants . never again . no stars. im being kind

Fabulous all round experience. And still a great experience

I’ll start with the positives. The food was good and plentiful apart from the onion bhajis that were a little too fatty for me. The chicken tikka garlic chicken and balti were excellent, as were the breads. However mine host wasn’t. A more miserable maitre d cannot be found across the length and breadth of Europe. If I ran a restaurant on the NC500 gravy train I’d make damn sure that my restaurant was top of the list of recommended places to eat by providing a great experience. Not with that approach unfortunately.

Came by during an NC 500 trip. The food was delicious and perfectly portioned. The service was exemplary and the server was very considerate and thoughtful, giving good advice on what is good to order and was very pleasant throughout. Would definitely recommend!

Not 1 star as the food can be decent. Been going here for years, mainly due to lack of options rather than it being a quality establishment however my most recent visit made my mind up. Our table ordered starters and mains, we waited well over 40 minutes for our starters only to be presented with our mains, the server seemed unwilling to correct this and questioned whether we had ordered starters at all! Only to make the situation uncomfortable enough to make us feel pressured into skipping starters. I would not have minded so much if the portion size was not so small we all left feeling unsatisfied. I'd usually excuse this however it's only the latest incident in a long line of examples of poor customer service, rarely are you asked if the table would like drinks or anything else and let me assure you it's not because they are busy! Instead the staff glare at you until you leave.

Really Great food, the dishes are NOT floating in ghee or oil. Popadoms are fresh and light, as is the naan Good service Deserves to be busier

Decent food. We had tandoori prawns and kebab for starters. Cobra beer, house red and house cocktail. Food was too sweet for our taste. Even the prawn curry was on sweet side. Naan was decent.

We were staying near wick for the Nc500 tour and wanted to go eat out and found this place. We got dropped off by a local taxi and upon arrival it was empty, it was midweek so no surprise there. No music until we asked for it to be on. Staff really could do with a little more training but the young lad was doing his best to get the job done and carry the owners who seemed lazy. The food was nice, poppadoms tasted like done in old hot oil. But the meal was nice. We have Indian meals a lot so do know when something like the poppadoms isn't right. Id say still go and try it though.

Order was wrong, food was bland, garlic chicken had little to no taste or spices. After driving to pick up (15 miles) the food was ready when I turned up (20 minutes early) would have just been sat for extra if I had turned up on time. Naan bread was undercooked, the rest was freezing cold by the time I drive back. Mushroom rice was best part of the meal being in a bnb meant no chance to reheat either. Nothing special would not rush back

we ordered for 6 of us carry out and had a mixture of curries and salads, rice, nan bread, chips. the curry tasted more like tasteless gravy, the chips were like old chips steamed and reheated, the green salad we were almost calling the police....

We have just returned home from an excellent meal at the Spice Tandoori Wick, Staff were very pleasant and attentive, food choices, price and portions were perfect, restaurant clean, warm and comfortable, service was fast and friendly, I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a tasty, filling meal at a reasonable price. Maybe if they some played Indian background music, it would give an overall Indian feeling. Well done team tandoori :-)

Overall, this curry place was nice. It had a good variety of options and the staff working there were very nice and accommodating. It was really cheap for the amount of food you received.

Butter Chicken was sickeningly sweet and Tandoori Grill was overly coloured. Waiter tried to insist on making us order more food than we needed and the more expensive dishes that we made clear we did not want. Biryani is not worth ordering, better to just add salt to plain rice and eat that. Kebab was not worthy of being called a Kebab, it was so dry it crumbled. There was a sauce to moisten it, but it was a tasteless mix of food colouring. Everything was overpriced, this restaurant does not deserve to call itself an Indian Restaurant.

Honestly, really bad food and overly priced. The service was good in terms of the waitresses but that's about it. Curries was overly sweet, the Biryani hand no flavour what so ever.

The venue and service was good but disappointed with the food, all the curries tasted more or less the same OR shall I say same curries, but with different names. We Spent £ 200 for circa 14people. So I won't go again, as you would get better curries for that sort of money.

Booked a table for four at this restaurant tonight, we all had a fantastic meal. The waiting staff were extremely pleasant, friendly and helpful. We all ordered a different dish and each one was delicious. Portion sizes were generous and we all left extremely full as the food was so good we didn’t want to leave any. I would highly recommend a visit. I also thought it was good value for money.
