We ordered samosa ,onion Bhaji, yellow daal , kadai paneer. Samosa was made from frozen pkt. Rest items were very good. The only guy on the counter was not cheerful and sad looking. But food made up for it

Typical Bangladeshi cooking catering to a white man's palate. Not bad cooking but not much to speak about either. I went in 15 minutes after they opened so no issues in getting a seat. Ordered immediately as I had to catch my train. Ate and left

This is a great place to stop by when you're just walking around. We shared some Chicken Tikka Masala with garlic Naan. It was very delicious! I really liked that there were some pieces of almonds in the sauce. The garlic Naan was nice and fluffy. The garlic flavour was perfect. Not too overpowering, but still powerful enough to notice! The service was also good, the server got our food and drinks to us as quickly as possible. The only thing i did not like was the toilets. They were very run-down and not that nice to use.

Absolutely shocked by the waiter they have ! Such a grumpy white guy ! Whoever owns this restaurant needs to change the guy at the front desk . No doubt why this place is empty while the neighbouring Indian restaurants are full !

Our favourite Indian restaurant when in Inverness. Always delivers good value with good and generous food portions. The most recent visit was no exception with the service by the 2 young servers excellent.

This is our "go to" Indian Restaurant in Inverness. Very handy to our usual hotel. Service has always been good when we've dined here. Prices are competitive and meals have been very good with decent helpings. We have tried some other Indians in Inverness but are happy with this one.

I've been here twice, once for lunch and once for dinner, I don't understand the negatives reviews, the waiters are polite and helpful, the food is generous and delicious! I will be back again.

Very rude staff, I took my friends there for the first time and they ruined my reputation in front of my friends, I will never step in there and will never recommend it to anyone, their behaviour was absurd

Ordered online, a timely delivery, and while the Meat Samosa Starter was very good, the Main Course chicken was rubbery and they did not have the Poppadum in my delivery that was in my original order. Upon telephoning them to raise that issue, whomever I spoke to seemed clueless. I hung up, because I wasn't going to be kept waiting. Unless I receive assurances from them that they will credit my next order, or refund me the difference from what I ordered to what I actually got, I will not be ordering from them again. Not the first time I have had items missing from my order. While I cannot say for sure those orders from here, it would not surprise me. Something I fully intend to take a note of from now on when determining my next choice of food delivery.

Experienced one of the worst services in so many years of travelling. Food was average but the waiter was extremely rude. Had ordered only for myself while I was accompanied by my friend who was not hungry. However being an Indian he wanted to taste the Indianess in the foreign land. The waiter outright refused to give even a quarter plate or cutlery since it was for 1 person. The experience was ruined and will probably never go there again.

Good Indian food in Inverness, flavourful and good service.

It will satisfy your desire for hot Desi food and a warm central location to enjoy it in. It would have been tastier with a bit more salt and hotter pappadums. A bit more friendliness won’t hirt either however the meats are Halal. Lol.

We went to have lunch they greeting was worth then we sat down and the waiter was least interested to take order and explain menu and he got so frustrated that he just left our table and said I’m not gonna take your order. Is this how you treat guest???? Very poor service

Very bad food, very bad service, will not be visiting again

I thought this was great. In the competitive curry market in the centre of Inverness this place doesn't seem to come out tops with footfall but this is a better curry than I had in other places round about and I thought it was very good value so as a local I will now be coming back here.

Following a day shopping in Inverness we decided to have an evening meal in the Ness Mahal. The name of the restaurant appealed to us. The waiter was very friendly and attentive. We were on the verge of ordering too much and were glad to have taken his advice on portion sizes. They were indeed substantial and extremely tasty. A recent meal elsewhere left us disappointed so this meal restored our faith that good, tasty food, is still available and that not everywhere is suffering with shrinkflation with elevated prices. Before leaving the restaurant we had already decided that it would be worth travelling in from Elgin to eat there again.

Went over there, one grumpy waiting was standing by the bar. I said Hello with smile but no reply for from the waiter and no smile. Waiter came with grumpy face placed menu's on the table. I said hello again but instead of friend reply, waiter sod that minimum £10 order for each person and went away with sad and grumpy face. Placed order and asked him to bring everything together, but he only brought chicken tekka and place them on the table. 10 minuted passed and no sign of rest of the order, asked him about the order but no reply. I asked again waiter said that it will take 10 minutes for the rest of the order. I asked him if it will take sometime, then I will leave. In fact two white customers came in after us and that waiter served them food before us. I the end said forget it place some money on the counter and walked out. As of indian origin I can see hate for indain on white male waiter.

The European guy that serves you there is really nice and so is the whole setup. The food though is just average as you would expect from a Bangladeshi restaurant masquerading as an Indian restaurant. The flavours are obviously not the same as you would expect from an authentic Indian restaurant.I think it is fairly priced for the quantity that they serve, one thing that they can do as should most of the other restaurants in UK is come clear on their identity as Bangladeshi restaurants and stop writing Indian restaurants on their boards.

Very bad service manager was rude. Food was terrible meat was smelly gone off when i complaint manager was rude with me and said i have to pay in full even though the meat had gone off can cause food poisoning. Never go there!!!

The front desk staff displayed incredibly rude behavior by pressuring us to order a minimum of 10 pounds per person. Furthermore, he took their rudeness to the streets and gave threats and yelled F bombs at us for simply taking pictures of him. 2nd update: We were group of 7 people and whenever we go out for dining the bill always go over 100 pounds. There is no law in UK regarding taking pics in public space. Your staff was racist and drunk. I hope you get rid of him and hire people with decent hospitality skills.

The absolute worst place to eat Indian food in Inverness. There are other Indian restaurants in the area if you are craving for Indian food. Give those a try. Please do not visit this place. The menu says each person at the table has to order 10 bucks minimum and that is an indication how bad the place and food is. The food was really terrible, probably stale. Stay away!! We are visiting from USA and have been touring UK for more than 2 weeks now. l didn't have time to write reviews everyday for all the places I have visited so far. When I found time, I decided to utilize it to write some reviews of places visited so far. People reading my reviews can verify my reviews over the years and I am not affiliated to any groups nor do it for money. The comments I have made are accurate and is just my opinion. I am just a tourist of Indian origin. I hope the owner can be open minded to handle criticisms and try to improve the business.

This was one of the best meals I've had on my vacation. Absolutely delicious curry, great Naan. Some guy at another table tried to pick a fight with the chef, but they handled it very professionally. Definitely would come back!

This was about the worst we have had. Ever. We ordered Tikka Masala and asked for it to be medium spicy. It tasted like tomato sauce with no seasoning. We ordered a few different naan bread and they were dry, the peshwari naan had almost nothing in it, and the other naan were dry and unappealing. There were other customers there who seemed to be enjoying their food so we have no idea if our experience was unusual or typical of takeaway. I would find a different option.

Food was quite average . Very impolite person who took the order and served food . The owner should be aware that the person he has employed should be trained on atleast how to talk to tourists in Inverness. We went there on 18th June Sunday at around 8:45 pm for dinner .

Had the worst North Indian food in my life...it seems they are catering only to native Scottish guests & have no idea how Indian food is prepared. Chicken in balti was not fresh & so dry we could hardly eat it...biryani was again bad...to top it all the owner added 1 ice cream in the bill which we never had..had to point it out to him to remove which he did...all in all a very bad experience & a word of caution to all Indian tourists to avoid going to this place.

They don't serve Indian food but a mish mash of tomato & garlic curries with artificial colors added which they pass on as Indian curries...Indians should avoid this joint at all costs.

A rainy night in Inverness , we found one of the many Indian restaurants in the town. The service was good and food plentiful and tasty. We had an assortment of dishes. Huge portions.

I wish there was an option to give rating as 0 or -ive. I visited Inverness with my son and the night we arrived there, we wanted to have good Indian food. Hotel ambiance was fine and location was just perfect, in the center and very close to the hotel we stayed. We ordered a couple of starters, main dishes including Paneer tikka, chef special balti and Naans etc. I am from north India and surely know how the authentic Indian food taste like. The food in Ness mahal wasn't any close to Indian food at all. Aloo chat probably was edible if you forget that you are sitting in an so called Indian restaurant. Chef's special balti and Paneer tikka were unbearable. Dipped in red color with sweet sauce.. No flavor and no where close to even the worst made Indian food. Naan was the only item we could say was good. We just couldn't eat the dinner there, left all the food, wasted our money and left Ness mahal. We then ended up ordering take away pizza from a different place. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, if they fancy Indian food.

Food is excellent, I’ve tried many around here and this is the best I’ve found. Usually when travelling south I bring back take away from London etc… I no longer need to do that 🤗

We had 3 different dishes and all were very good. Naan bread was good and the special rice was tasty as well. The waiter was pleasant and toilets very clean. We feel comfortable recommending this restaurant to anyone.

Another rainy day in Inverness, after most places were packed with stag and hen parties, we stopped in because it was across from our hotel. Pleasantly surprised. Good food , huge portions. Not too spicy good service and clean and welcoming.

Best place in inverness, food was outstanding, every curry we ordered blew our minds. The fact the chef was being rushed and having the ability to put out so much delicious food is excellent. The lamb tikka jhalfriezy was one of my faves the meat was packed with flavour. I’d recommend this to anyone new or even the locals to try the place out, it won’t disappoint.

Misinformation is at the heart of this allegedly Indian restaurant. To top that, we have staff refusing to acknowledge their errors. Who knew, aloo chat is the same as Bombay aloo, and lassi is also chutney if coloured yellow. We were enlightened to hear that this is how they do it in UK. One can call these minor inconveniences and be done with, but raw lamb meat is hard to ingest, and also a recipe for tapeworm infestation, so my friends couldn’t eat that. But, our humble staff were too high in their head to acknowledge that their chef was at fault. To err is human, but to not accept is bad for the business and in our case the customer’s health. Here’s to the worst Indian food we had in UK. The only reason I give two stars is because the dal tadka was acceptable and my meat eater friends were able to quell their hunger and turned vegan for once. #earthissaved

Placed a simple takeout order here and had a great experience. Preparation was super quick, and food was delicious. I had the dal tadka and it was honestly one of the best I’ve had at a restaurant anywhere. The place seems empty a lot, but that isn’t necessarily a bad sign! I‘ll definitely go back next time I’m in town.

Went for food here after a long day out, with no reservation so glad to get in, although things were winding down by then as it was fairly late. Had a curry and rice each and a side dish to share and it was way too much food! Definitely could have shared a rice I reckon. Lots of vegetarian options as expected, and being Indian, lots of gluten free options too. The waiters couldn't tell me for certain if the poppadoms were gluten free or if they'd been cooked in contaminated oil, so I passed on those. The couple next to us were complaining that their curry was too spicy, but they had ordered the spiciest dish on the menu so hardly surprising! Ours were perfect levels of spice for what we ordered.

I have to say I’ve tried most of the restaurants that are classed as above on trip advisor and today I tried here… honestly if was fantastic.. ordering was easy, on arrival the guy was very welcoming and friendly… the the most important thing.. the food… it was great! I’m originally from london but have lived in highlands for over 20 years… I usually bring back take away from there every time I visit… not sure I’ll need to bother with that anymore! ❤️

A great Indian restaurant in Inverness. The food was delicious and of good quality specially considering the price, waiting staff were extremely kind and helpful. Food came out quickly too. Atmosphere was quite nice on the inside. Would definitely recommend a visit if you're craving Indian food!

Great food initially we were not very sure about the quality but when the food came it was actually very brilliant and according to our taste. It was very economic and cost effective as well and the management was super nice. 100% suggest this place

Great food. We ordered saag paneer, tandoori chicken, daal tadka , tava roti , paratha. Everything was very delicious. Quantity is quite good, 1 sabzi is enough for 2 people. Service is quite fast.

The BEST Indian in Inverness. The most tender chicken, incredible flavours, large portions and beautifully presented. The staff are amazing, attentive and very professional. It’s very clean with a wonderful atmosphere. I drive a four hour round trip to eat here and will continue to do so. It’s just that good.

Didn't look much from the outside, but appearances can be deceptive. We had a lovely meal, well presented and promptly served by a friendly staff. Well worth a visit.

We went to this place yesterday and had a very bad experience. The rotis and naan were not cooked well at all. We had got a burnt paratha first and then when we sent that back it was absolutely undercooked. The curry didnt taste good. Dal did not have salt in it. Above this the service experience also was bad. We dont waste food normally but had to leave almost everything unfinished because of the quality. Absolutely not recommended.

This must be the worst India restaurant in Inverness. We ordered Chicken chat it came as a chicken curry and it was taste less, for the main meal we ordered tandoori chicken off the bone it came on the bone with no sizzle and was so dry, it was served with what tasted like mustard sauce, there were 4 people in the restaurant and it took 30 minutes in between each course. They did take 20% off the bill Avoid at all cost

Food was so and so. Most certainly NOT indian food. Seems like it was made by someone who had heard about Indian food as a child and tried to recreate it as an adult. However they did try and serve us and local people seem to like the insult to food served here.

No taste at all and service is okay

Visited after a long day driving - original plans fell through, but we love a good curry. We were not disappointed! Nice and friendly service, good food. We were pleased to see a kids menu option that included curry - the children enjoyed the food too. We’re not local but would visit again.

We came in on Tuesday evening 9th August, no appointment but was happily fitted in , only 2 staff working , I would like them to get recognition for going above and beyond , friendly speedy service, working hard as a team, 100% . Lovely food , excellent service , would like them to receive some sort of bonus for this excellent service

Food was genuinely tasty, vegetables cut a bit large but who cares. The waiter was really kind and chatted a bit, the service however was a bit slow but we had a good time.

Seems by other reviews this restaurant is a hit or miss. Sadly our experience was pretty poor. It’s not a huge restaurant but appeared clean and nice decor and were greeted promptly on arrival. We were seated at the back and the two young male waiters did their best and provided good customer service. The starters were a real disappointment with both top heavy on salad. Sadly the chicken pakora was missing chicken but the waiter did speak to the chef and apologised. The mixed kebab was nice, not very hot and far too much salad but tasted good. Our main dishes were ok but just didn’t taste as they should. The mahal special was massively over salted and the tika passanda was very artificial in taste. It was just not what I was expecting but despite this it was ok. After having the issue with our starter we didn’t raise the main courses but service was polite enough. When we went to leave three tables were full at the back alcove area but the whole main restaurant sat empty which on a Saturday night should have told us that maybe other nights are better. Possibly different chefs with hugely varying standards but really disappointed as was hoping for a lovely meal.

Visited here whilst ending our NC500 trip. Lovely hot food and so tasty. Definitely up there with some of our best curry houses in the UK, would recommend visiting if in the area.

Great taste and great service! Food quantity and pricing was good as well. Tried the Jalfrezi and Tarka Daal, both were very well made. I would like it if the music was a bit more toned down to make it a more peaceful experience - NFAK works well. Overall, would visit again if ever in Inverness. Forgot to take pictures - was too hungry. PS: It's halal.
