The best restaurants serving Indian food in Edinburgh, City of Edinburgh and Lothian

Despite being turned away in the first point of contact (we just turned up, no booking); a quick re-visit of the restaurant’s ‘situation’ by the manager found us a seat. The surroundings were impressive, the ambiance pleasant, the menu alluring. It’s been a few months, so pardon me if I don’t remember exactly what we had to eat, suffice to say that the ‘Railway Curry’ was particularly outstanding. It was all top-notch. Enough to have me on the phone to my two brothers (who both live in Edinburgh) to recommend. Both my partner and I love our Indian food. This was of the highest quality.

This is the OG mosque kitchen and food quality is much better than the other. Very friendly owners and great service.

Fantastic authentic Indian food. I highly recommend the "bone in" curry's. I visited India many moons ago and this place takes me flying back. Great service also. Thanks Dangal!

Pre-Reservamos una fiesta de 10 para las 8 pm los domingos. Llegamos a tiempo a un restaurante casi vacío. Tuvimos que pedir para pedir bebidas. Tuvimos que pedir para ordenar algunos poppadoms. Tuvimos que pedir a los platos principales. Se volcaron a otros clientes y les dijeron que el restaurante estaba completamente reservado (estaba vacío aparte de nosotros). Los poppadoms estaban deliciosos. La cerveza de barril se había acabado. Sospecho que también se les acabó la comida. 90 minutos después de llegar aún no teníamos nuestros principales. Con un tren para coger les dijimos que tendríamos que salir en otros 5 minutos si no había comida. Platos (calientes) llegaron. Todavía en la comida después de otros 10 minutos. No hay explicación de la gestión de la demora. Finalmente, nos dimos por vencidos, pagamos por bebidas y poppadoms, y nos fuimos para tomar el último tren con el estómago vacío. NO UN RENDIMIENTO IMPRESIONANTE.

Wow this was the best Indian food I have eaten, the service was excellent and the food was delivered to us quickly. The food was so tasty with just enough quantity. I can’t recommend the restaurant enough, I can’t wait to come back!!

Fuimos aquí para un almuerzo rápido y tuvimos dosa y gobhi Manchurian. La comida estaba saboreando y Mohan fue rápido en el servicio. Las tarifas también tenían un precio razonable. El tamaño de la porción fue suficiente para una persona. Debo intentarlo al menos una vez si estás cerca.

Muy buena comida y el servicio era excelente. Bastante tranquilo, pero era de esperar ss era un domingo por la noche. Sin duda volveríamos de nuevo.

On visiting the restaurant recently I noted it has now closed. No point in visiting and looking for an Indian restaurant as a new one has taken its place

Gran comida y servicio amable. Mi esposa y yo queríamos almorzar antes de un partido de fútbol. No queríamos tener una comida grasienta que nos dejara hinchados e insalubres. La comida callejera vegetariana aquí era justo para nosotros. No estábamos familiarizados con todos los platos, así que el gerente nos ayudó a elegir. La comida está llena de sabor. El té chai es mucho más agradable que las versiones de las grandes cadenas de café.

Delicious food was served and the service was good

We have been there for a social work-related dinner. Food arrived quickly, without making anyone wait too long, and it was delicious. I eat gluten free and they were super prepared.

The best Indian food in Edinburgh. Fresh and a burst of flavor at normal prices. The restaurant has a nice modern atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and helpful. At the end of the Royal Mile, on a side street off the High Street on Cannongate, so very centrally located. The Indian Kobra beer is also recommended.

Disappointed. They serve very cheap rice and small portions and charge too much for it. The lamb dish was again very small and at almost £10 too expensive. This is not wow and only medium mediocre now. Friendly enough staff but this is not enough.
