This is our go to takeaway. Fresh food, friendly service. We have had a takeaway a few times from here and each time, the food was as good as the last time. Will certainly continue coming back.

Lovely food, we had the family dosa, plenty for four though we dis also manage to share a pilau rice, 2 curries and 2 naan! Very friendly staff, will definitely be back

Not impressed with the very watery Rogan Josh, we have had it before and its usually really tasty so disappointing! We also ordered garlic nann and received a plain nann.

This was our first time in this place and, boy, what a treat! From the moment we walked in to the restaurant to the last minute, we had an amazing service, the food was so good and to finish the dinner we had some mega tasty ice cream. The restaurant beautiful, neat, very clean and tidy and the atmosphere is really lovely. The bar is well equipped to stay in the for a while. Highly recommended restaurant. We'll be back! 🤗

We went for dinner to try a new place. We have drove past rishis many times. The look of the place has always attracted us but never found an opportunity to visit. We have tried it and it’s truly amazing. We will most definitely be back. The staff is lovely the food is delicious nothing else to add.

Ordered takeaway away, never again. After this being my go to place for a couple of years, I ordered the same as I usually do, back came 2 meals that were unrecognisable from what I've had before, can only assume they have different chefs as both meals, breads and rice were completely different from any meal purchased in the last few years. Food was dry and bland and rice was soggy and wet, as for the naan bread, it appeared and tasted like it had been fried🤔 I'll be avoiding for the foreseeable until I get someone raving about it again, which is a shame as it really was one of the best takeaways we'd had previously..

Ordered the worst meal of my life from this place. We ordered a masala dosa as main course and the way it served was horrendous! The dosa was cold and the chutneys were ice cold. I had better experience and food from this place and that is why I decided to visit this place again, I got a nightmare instead. The funny part is when we inquired about this they said it is served cold! What kind of restaurant serves a main course cold? Especially Indian! Really disappointing and wouldn't recommend.

Realmente impresionado con el exterior y el interior de las instalaciones. Comida excepcional pollo derretido en su boca excelente comida sabrosa. Serie de bebidas disponibles. Servicio excepcional también si en Edimburgo recomendaría sin duda volvería a comer allí de nuevo muy agradable comida.

Booked a table for Xmas lunch and wish I hadn't after the meal was served to us. 3 course, not a great choice to be honest. I ordered the Xmas turkey choice, the veg was cold and limp, the roast potatoes tasted as if they'd sitting in a hotplate all day and the turkey was so dry. It was served with rice, more roast potatoes and a garlic nan bread, who has garlic nan bread with Xmas dinner! Didn't have a starter but did order a pudding, Xmas pudding with chocolate ice-cream, could not get my spoon through the pudding the cut it. Could not eat any of the food. All in all, Xmas dinner was a wash-out and a waste of money! Definitely won't be back!

We had been to Rishis before and had enjoyed it, but this time we felt that two of the three curry's we ordered were lacking in flavour. The delivery was also 45 minutes later than originally suggested.

Ordered off Deliveroo and the order arrived incomplete. The food that did arrive was horrible, cold and inedible. Terrible customer service to top it off. Please avoid this restaurant and do not waste your money.

Food was good but it was not Chicken Bhuna, although it was good, Nans were both packed long time ago. Manchurian was very good. Delivery was late by 30 mins even when we placed the order around 4pm. will definitely order again.

Bueno, he estado en este restaurante en varias ocasiones y no he tenido quejas con respecto a la comida hasta anoche Domingo 24 de noviembre nosotros mi amigo y yo tuvimos pescado al curry Yo tenía Rogan josh muy bueno que era, pero el entrante que teníamos samosa y calamares la masa en el calamar no estaba cocinado correctamente y el calamar era un poco duro No me quejé de ello y no pensé nada de ello hasta que llegamos a casa que es 5 minutos del restaurante mi amigo estaba enfermo como un perro y me desperté durante la noche mal, así que definitivamente se redujo al calamar que estaba apagado o no cocinado correctamente primera mala experiencia allí en este restaurante, pero normalmente buena comida

Awful experience. Ordered a large amount of food which never arrived and when I asked where it was they said it wasn't their problem and I needed to request a refund from just eat directly. Avoid this restaurant

The food was so good, we did take away for two consecutive days. The chicken Manchurian, chicken 65 and Rogan Josh with chicken option all was amazing. The portion size was also huge worth the price. The highlights were the butter naan which was very soft and fluffy and the mango lassi which we ended up ordering it twice. Absolutely loved it!

Terrible. Food was tasteless. The chicken tikka masala was runny and without flavour. Worst quality I've had. The naan breads were cold and soggy. Avoid this place!!!-Thisxwaa a takeaway order and ut arrived cold. Very disappointing.

ive ordered here before and the food was great, it was sealed and packed propely, but not today,it looked as if it had been tampered with, as the lids had already been oppened, i have taken photos of this horrible experence, never again!

Found this gem of a South Indian Restaurant on my third visit to Edinburgh. Excellent food with very decent prices in a fine dining atmosphere. Located away from the city centre near the coast, but it takes only 15min. Definitely, worth a visit..

I was there on Tuesday with my family , spacious this is my second visit, absolutely loved the family dosa, food was delicious 😋 amazing, so filling, only, it got busy very quickly, staff was amazing, we were llooked after well, only one thing it's a shame is no disable toilet! as I'm a wheelchair user , so I had to go to the nearby Asda to use the toilet, I was told it's been renovated, this is the second time I was told this in the space of a year, still being renovated this is the only downside, it is a need , because even disable people wheelchair user need to go! I do hope it gets renovated for my next visit!

The food here was really good. Eye-wateringly good. I am not usually the biggest fan of really spicy food, we had the Jaipuri chicken which had a slow burn, meaning after 30 seconds my eyes started to water. It wasn't too hot in the mouth though.(it is one of the less spicy dishes) We spoke to the couple next to us and even they were saying the food is more spicy than usual. Otherwise, it is a really nice atmosphere. They seemed to be a bit understaffed for how busy it got towards the end. Definitely can recommend trying it out

Had a great meal here to celebrate a family birthday. We booked in advance but wouldn’t say it was necessary for a weekday, it was pretty quiet when we arrived and only got busier later on. Staff were lovely and mostly helpful, atmosphere was nice and it was a big menu. Enjoyed the dosa which we’d never had before, and we ordered multiple starters and smaller plates to share alongside a curry. Really enjoyed all the small plates but our chicken jaipuri was much hotter than we expected. A table next to us also said they were regulars but were really struggling with the spiciness of their food that day. Good to know it was out of the ordinary but a bit of a shock for us when we tried it! Tap water provided with the table and refilled regularly though which was great!😅

A restaurant that changed my view on Indian food. The dosa is big and crispy. The curry is also very delicious. It is more delicious than any Indian food in London.

I have been to Rishi's about 10 tones, as I live about 15:minutes' walk away. I even took a part of 13 people there. The staff are very friendly. The food is good (I always have a bowl of broccoli - my favourite vegetable), the portions are generous and the price is reasonable.

Preciosa comida - Gran Dosa, grandes chutneys. Suculentas chuletas de cordero y sabroso paneer tikka. Personal amable. Bonito ambiente. Esperemos que añadan a su menú la cebolla chili Rava Dosa.

Nos dimos cuenta de este restaurante al pasar en coche. Decidieron probarlo tras una buena recomendación de su establecimiento Dundee. No reservamos, cuando llegamos, había una mesa ocupada por una pareja india. Pudimos elegir nuestra mesa ya que era tranquilo. Nos dieron el menú y pedimos bebidas. El servicio era extraño y bastante robótico. Pedí un entrante de gambas reales, y mi marido pidió pollo Tikka, cada uno vino con un dip de chile verde. Tengo 3 langostinos pequeños por alrededor de £ 9. El baño fue agradable. Nuestra red llegó, estaban frescos, pre-cocinados, pero no se mantuvo caliente. Llamamos a la espera y le avisamos, se llevó los platos con el pan naan para reemplazar con comida fresca. Cuando regresó estaba caliente, no estaba seguro de si había sido recién preparado, pero el naan estaba fresco. Es caro para el contenido y el tamaño de la porción. Estábamos muy abrumados por el servicio y los platos. No volveremos.

Once again i was rocked by the authenticity of their taste over south indian recipes. I tried their masala dosa with all the accompaniments one expects . Sambhar, chutneys. And each of these were a testament to true south indian flavours. I recommended: Masala dosa with spicy ghee or paste.

A hidden gem for sure! The restaurant is so cute and lovely inside. Staff are amazing, very attentive. Food was fantastic and really good portions. I would definately recommend the dosa pancakes 🥰 I will be back for sure!

Fresh, fast and friendly. A nice stop for lunch on our 9km walk Lamb Saag had just the right level of spice to make it interesting. Butter chicken nice and creamy. The service was very friendly. Poppadoms were just average and at £1 each could have been fresher. Sitting in the far back, the big skylights let in lovely natural light.

It was a good meal. We had 4 starters and shared them. I had a chicken tikka masala that was a bit weak in flavour, so I don't recommend that. My friend had a mix grill that looked a lot better. The mango lassi was the best one I have had for a while, and I was glad I got a jug.

Desafortunadamente mi hija y yo tuvimos una experiencia decepcionante aquí. Esperamos media hora antes de que nos atendieran inicialmente. Entonces nos preguntaron qué nos gustaría pedir, pero ni siquiera nos habían ofrecido una bebida en este momento. Cuando pedimos nuestra comida (después de unos 50 minutos de espera) solo salió la principal de mi hija, junto con nuestras dos guarniciones. Después de unos 5 minutos de no recibir mi plato principal intenté marcar a un miembro del personal, pero esto resultó difícil, ya que el restaurante claramente tenía poco personal y no pude llamar la atención de nadie. Finalmente logré llamar la atención de un camarero y le expliqué que mi plato principal no había llegado. El camarero se fue a revisar y regresó diciendo que el personal de la cocina lo arreglaría lo antes posible. Para entonces mi hija ya casi había terminado su comida. Le dije al camarero que los lados (arroz y brócoli) estarían fríos cuando saliera mi principal. Se llevó el arroz pero dejó el brócoli. Eventualmente salió mi principal, junto con una porción fresca de arroz (pero sin brócoli fresco). Le dije al camarero que estaba tan decepcionado (ya que mi hija ya había terminado su comida) y él solo dijo que lo sentía, pero estaban entrenando al nuevo personal - lo siento, no es mi culpa. Esperaba que nos dieran un descuento en la factura debido al horrible servicio, o al menos una disculpa del gerente y quizás una bebida en la casa, pero absolutamente nada. Una pena, ya que estábamos deseando tener una comida encantadora aquí en nuestra primera noche en Edimburgo. Como nota positiva la comida era preciosa... ..solo una pena que toda la experiencia se arruinó debido al mal servicio.

The tapas menu (we visited on a Sunday afternoon) is fantastic - great food and great value. One of the best in Edinburgh easily.

Absolutely outstanding and authentic Indian food, especially if you're looking for South Indian dishes (Dosa, Biriyani, Meals, Sambar) it's a must visit place. We randomly visited Rishi's when we came for our vacation to Edinburgh, enjoyed the food thoroughly. Staffs are really good and nice atmosphere. A place we wish to re-visit when we are at Edinburgh.

Our meal was not delivered. Called the restaurant twice to confirm whether the food had been prepared and collected and apparently it had - but I assure you it was not delivered.

The service wasn’t good. I asked for left over food to get packed and the person bought the boxes and asked me to pack the food at the table itself. The table was near the toilet gate and whenever someone opened the gate there was smell of bleach. Ordered Kadhai Paneer and Chana Masala, both the dishes didn’t have flavour. Kadhai Paneer was bland and didn’t taste or look like Kadhai Paneer. There are very few options for vegetarians. Not recommended at all.

One of the best meals we've ever had. The staff is very sweet and welcoming. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant is very warming and calm. Definitely recommend to visit even if it was the only thing you'd manage to do in Edinburgh.

Last minute decision and hadn't booked but was welcomed in by friendly staff. Food was delicious and probably the best we've had recently. Service was first rate and our servers went above and beyond to ensure we were happy. Would definitely return if in the area. Highly recommended! Very tasty food and beautifully presented. Atmosphere inviting. Staff seemed very stressed from the start, even though the restaurant was still empty.

One of the best Indian restaurants in town. The lamb is cooked really well and the mango lassi is the best bang for your buck.

That was amazing time we spent..! Firstly, I still remember the girl Supriya was very friendly and always trying to serve with a quick response, basically she won’t forget what the customer’s going to eat by the first visit. I really love the environment which I have been up to now, i felt you guys have great and lovely staff. And coming to the food - I do eat masala dosa then biryani and end gulab jamun. Dosa was very lite and tasty, biryani was not like much expected but okie, gulab jamun is mad…! whenever I want to have proper Indian food, I only prefer Rishi’s

First time we have been back in 2 years as was visiting Edinburgh to go to the Scottish Open. We were actually staying outside Edinburgh but decided to come back in to town as had been at Rishis a couple of years ago and loved it. So glad we did as the food and service were as good as we remembered. The Chicken Dosa to start is just amazing. Well done guys and we will be back next year when the golf is on.

We dined at this restaurant last night my husband , son and I , I would say this is one of the best restaurants I have had the pleasure to have visited , food was amazing , staff were lovely and the decor in the restaurant was beautiful .

Absolutely one of the best South Indian restaurants in Edinburgh! Perfect place to visit with family. We had a lovely afternoon here. Highly recommend the paper roast dosa and paneer wrap.

The cuisine was some of the best we've had in a very long time. The service was equally good. We arrived about 30 minutes before closing and we're treated as if we had all night. Some dishes a little spicy, but all delicious. Portions were very generous.

The one person meal is the greatest!! (It easily feeds two). You really get a bang for your buck! They even include an amazing little gulab jaman treat that is the perfect end to a delicious meal. Just moved here and so happy to find Rishi’s, this is definitely my new neighborhood spot.

Booking for 8 for an evening meal. Lovely restaurant with friendly staff. Throughly enjoyed meals and compliments to the chef. Priority is flavour over flame. Good portions & reasonably priced. Fully recommend.

Normally excellent, but on this occasion wasn't the same. Chicken tikka was so sweet I couldnt finish it. Lamb Bhuna was ok but just not same standard as normal. £50 treat for my husband fell flat. Tried to call the restaurant to ask if they had changed chef or anything but line was busy for rest of the night. Hope this was just an off night.

Food was awful. Chicken in briyani was very dry, dish had plenty heat, which I like, but no real flavour. Ordered Korma for my wife and noted no chillies please, dish was spicy and unedible for her. Tried to call the restaurant but phone number doesn’t work, or maybe they don't answer, avoiding complaints!
