As an Indian vegetarian struggling to find food, I finally found the perfect place. This has the most authentic Indian food and especially south Indian food!!! It just reminded me of my home. Definitely recommend this place for everyone who want some proper authentic Indian food!!

The food we orderd was absolutely delicious! The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. Especially the kerala Fish curry and thali...its mind blowing ..... The 100 of varities of dosa is a new experience with great presentation with a good taste.

The best place in Edinburgh for dosa, idli, vada, sambar. Very affordable as well as great food! Sambar reminds me of mom’s food back in India. Highly recommended!

We have been a frequent guest in this restaurant for the last 7 years and love it. Food is really tasty and very authentic. Prices are also very competitive and a BYOB is a cherry on top!

Went with my son Saturday afternoon just before Christmas. Not many people in, lovely lady waiting table, food very good and interesting. Not cheap, but good value for money. Will be going back!

Lovely restaurant food and staff were amazing

Perhaps the most underrated Indian restaurant in Edinburgh. Felt like home food and the taste was so good that I ended up going here two days in a row. Tried almost all the vegetarian items on the menu and nothing disappointed. Particularly loved the Sambar but you really can’t go wrong with anything you order here.

This is the best Indian food I've ever eaten. Dosa is great as is everything I've tried. Gobi Manchurian is a favourite even with our meat eating friends. Great staff too 😁

Great food, friendly staff who are unfortunately having to apologise endlessly for the wait. 45 minutes to an hour wait inside. Probably prioritising delivery orders, dining in, you have to wait. Great food if you've got a couple of hours.

Non veg thali was yummmm and authentic as well as the services.Highly recommended.

Unbelievably terrible! A dining disaster from start to finish. I dined here with a friend from Delhi, and our disappointment was palpable. The Onion Baji was practically raw, containing huge chunks of raw onion. The Medu Vada was undercooked making it unpleasant to taste. To make matters worse, the Tandoori Chicken was inexplicably deep-fried and flavourless. The Butter Chicken was an overpowering sugar bomb, and the only saving grace was the dosa. The lime soda tasted like a low-quality cordial, and our waiter seemed indifferent, forgetting our drink order and showing zero interest in our satisfaction. All of this cost us a staggering £57 for two people, an egregious price for such subpar food and lackluster service. Avoid this place if you value your taste buds and wallet.

We went to have some Dosa as my partner was craving for some dosa. We ordered some masala dosa, egg fried rice, mushroom curry , tandoori sea bass ( sizzler). Overall good quality food. Worth the money spent.

This restaurant’s website says you get 15% off when you order for collection, but when you actually try to place an order it’s only shows deliveries, which is misleading,

Best Indian in Leith, we love this place. The food is excellent and they even have dosa and idli. They are so accommodating for food allergies and always super friendly.

Food was average. Quite pricey for the small portion.

First time ordering takeaway there. We were attracted by the 10%(or 15% can’t remember) student discount. We ordered and lady said they don’t do student discount here. A bit disappointed but we still went for it hopping it’ll be worth it. First of all the nans are so small which we got more disappointed. I ordered a butter chicken and it tastes like Heniz tomato soup. Didn’t even bother asking the others but it was expensive and nans were small….if you want better food go - Ruchi Tandoori Takeaway

Amazing authentic South Indian food. Tried masala dosa and idly sambar with vada. Both were great. Coconut chutney and sambar that came along was really nice. Would highly recommend this if you like South Indian food.

Very good South Indian food. Food was delicious, tasty and spicy according to requests. The staff Sithira was pleasant and helpful. We are here on both days we were here on holiday. Great experience.

Visited during August 2023.. Ordered multiple dishes.. Gobi Manchurian starter is good.. Biryani is also awesome..and all are tastes good expect Sambar/Lentil soup in Uthappam.. (it wasn't fresh..)

Absolutely worst experience,I would give it 0stars, please DO NOT dine in here for dinner because it will take an awfully long time we arrived at 7.30pm and they served at 9pm plus the food was cold and unsatisfactory, DO NOT ORDER NAANS AND CHICKEN CURRYS.cant believe this is one of the best restaurants in edinburgh 🤦‍♀️

I usually go to places when in a new town after researching a lot. I went to this after reading the reviews. The service was ok, the lady (didn't get her name!) who served was sounding off a bit rude. Definitely rude by Scottish standards ! About the food now , presentation and potion sizes were fine but something was off about the lamb - both the rogan josh and the biryani, as me and wife both had food poisoning afterwards! Didn't expect that. Not a pleasant experience for the price we paid, which is not quite light on the pocket ( almost near to Dishoom price but nowhere near to their standards)

Service wasn't amazing but good enough, the food made up for it. Delicious and the chettinad, outstanding. Already looking forward to coming back, but for the food alone.

Good authentic taste and good customer service

Had a Chicken Madras with Garlic Naan; the naan was crispy but not over burnt, tasted delicious. The Madras was the best I had so far, just the right amount of creamy, the ingredients inside blended well and had some small tinges of exciting flavors. 10/10

Best Korma ever. It was so creamy and smooth I went back the next day. We just arrived from Spain and they were about to close but, we dine there no prob. The place is really nice as well. Just fabulous!

Had been here for atleast 4 times during my trip to Edinburgh, I’ve always had South Indian during my visit here. It’s so authentic South Indian, with the right amount of flavour. Nothing extra, nothing less. The food here is literally the best. It’s a must visit if you ever want to have Indian food. The staff is friendly as well. They make you feel comfortable especially Preet.

The food was delicious, but I'll give them 3* because the delivery took 90 minutes when they said It'd take between 30 and 40 minutes.

The food was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere was quiet, as we went for an early dinner. The service was also very good though sometimes communication with the server was vague mostly due to language barriers. Overall phenomenal tasting.

Lovely local Indian restaurant. Definitely worth visiting! Friendly and attentive staff, food was fresh and delicious, came out quickly and steaming hot. We had chicken korma and butter chicken, very introductory curries, next time we will venture into something a bit spicier.

Proper South Indian food after a very long time. We ordered Kerala Paratha with Chetinad Chicken gravy and chicken tikka briyani. Upon request the chef had prepared our order in Desi style and it was delicious. Chetinad chicken gravy is a must try. Staff was very friendly and got inputs from us and suggested good options to try.

Highly recommend this place as we got to eat home cooked food North Indian n South Indian. The channa masala and the chettinaad chicken were just yummy and we relishes till the last bite. Thanks for the wonderful dining experience.

We used to order food from this restaurant regularly. But now things are becoming worse. Today I order dosa, malai kofta , paneer sabji and roti. There was a smell coming from the stuffing of dosa, paneer sabji was tasteless. Malai kofta was also not authentic . No cashew gravy. The kofta was not made up of potato and paneer. I seriously want the management to look after the food they are offering. It was one of my favourite restaurants in Edinburgh. But now I will not order anything from this place.

Delicious authentic food in Edinburgh's city centre. Masala dosa and Chettinad gravy is a must try here. South Indian style Parotta was really good and had crispy layering. They customise the food according to your requirements. Ambience was good as well. Parking can be really difficult during peak hours. Street parking in front of the restaurant is possible at night. And extremely great service by Mr. Pankaj 👏👏👏👏👏

Excellent food and service by the team! We visited Edinburgh for a few days and had a chance to eat from this restaurant. The food was too good that we ordered from the same restaurant on all the days we were in Edinburgh! The staffs were also extremely friendly and five stars for the cleanliness 👏. They know to make good Indian food! Also, special mention and kudos to Ms. Chithra who greeted and served us food with a smile😊

I think this is my new favourite place to order takeaway. The curries are fantastic - amazing flavours & really fresh. The black dahl is wonderful.

The best DOSA I have ever had. The menu has a variety of choices. Aside from the DOSA, we challenged ourselves to try something different and I had a veggie chettinadu curry and my husband had the murgh kali murchi. Both were excellent and the prices weren't outrageous. Also, the service was stellar, very friendly waiter. We look forward to returning to try other dishes. Only negative, the room was really cold. Otherwise, recommend highly.

I wonder what the owners did to the waiters but they clearly appeared on some sort of action short of a strike. Despite having a reservation, there was a 5 minute delay in showing us to our table. Then, we were left waiting 20 minutes without be given a chance to order (“I’ll be with you shortly”). At this point we left to dine with another place on Leith Walk. During our wait, the restaurant wasn’t overly busy but the waiters were serving drinks from large orders one-by-one…

Great south and North Indian food yummy manchurian and fried rice a must try if you’re in Edinburgh. The staff was also very friendly. We ordered take out as it was Christmas and the food was warm and yummy!

A little away from the hustle and bustle of the main centre this gem serves real Indian food. Chilli chicken crisp yet moist with a slight home style and flavoursome along with onion pakoda balls, and mini masala dosa to start, followed by a spicy paneer masala, chicken biryani and lamb chetinadu. All dishes full of flavour and ‘real’ Indian style. There are plenty of the normal style anglicised curries here, but if you can, try to pick out the Indian gems. Service was a little slow with some kitchen teething issues, but the food was very much worth the little wait. If this was in the centre it would be packed out night after night however being in a quieter area meant a more relaxed eating experience. Highly recommended for both Indians and Indian food lovers.

Authentic south Indian food. The chettinadu was so good, just like my mum makes it back home. My new favourite indian in Edinburgh!! And so affordable. Well worth the price and tasted amazing.

Outstanding - best curry I've had outside India. Such an interesting array of classic and more unusual dishes from both South and North India. Good value with an online discount and cheap delivery fee when ordering directly through their website. This will be my go-to local Indian takeout from now on.
