Have been to Rustom a few times now and it never disappoints! Food is amazing, love the decor of the place, always a very pleasant experience. Sohail Noor has been exceptional this evening! Can't recommend this place enough

Great location and good atmosphere. Really helpful staff. Enjoyed the starters. However, the mains you could taste raw spices. Otherwise overall was a good restaurant.

Food was OK nothing great about the restaurant the staff was good

The serve Sohai Noor showed excellent service. He made sure with his recommendations that we got the best service and also helped us dry our coats and shoes which were wet from the rain.

The veg pakora was delicious the paneera Tikka was fantastic. The oreo cheesecake was super delicious. The chocolate cake, however, was very dry, not spongey like or moist. I recommend don't get it.

The meat was a bit hard but it was still tasty... The staff is also very nice.

We came here on a sisters’ city break and here twice during our stay in Edinburgh- we can unequivocally say that this is truly our favourite restaurant in the entirety of the UK. The food, atmosphere, vibes, and most of all, the service is spectacular. A special shout out to Prashant and Ajeet- they took care of us like family!

The only reason I give 3 for atmosphere is because it was freezing in the restaurant, the food was excellent.

We had dinner. The meal was amazingly tasty and we really enjoyed it. Restaurant workers are super friendly and welcoming. Recommend booking before arrival since it sometimes gets very busy. Family friendly.

Very enjoyable meal. Booked online a few hours before our visit. Prompt response received to confirm our table. Glad we booked as it was very busy when we arrived around 7.30pm on a Saturday. Spicing was a bit cheeky so I'd recommend consulting with the staff before ordering something that's on the hotter side of things. We were served by Sohail who looked after us really well and answered any questions we had about our choices. Glad we visited, and we would return if in Edinburgh again.

I didn’t even stayed half an hour and the manager was rushing me to leave . I eat fast considering that they took time to serve me . There were plenty of tables available in the restaurant. They were very rude with me .

I have been dined in and take away. Each time the food has been impeccable. I love the taste of the food. I can order starters which is great. I would say it is good quality for money but ambiance inside is also very good. Staff members have always been friendly and understanding of dietary requirements. I also ate lamb brain curry so that is why it cost 20

RUSTOM is such a treat to your taste buds and the customer service is the icing on the cake. We have been in Edinburgh for a while but haven't had such flavor rich food. Me and my family enjoyed Lamb Kadai (suggested by Sohailji who was helping us and serving us for the evening) to the fullest. Sohalji was also very precise with his decription of the dish and how it would eventually turn up giving us a sense of what to expect. It is only natural to expect a lot when you are hungry and see a Indian restaurant after so long. Thank God it did not disappoint. Garlic Naan & Cheese Naan was a great combo along with it. We finished with sweet dish which was the mouth-watering carrot halwa. The ambience was not loud at all and had the perfect instrumental music as background. So in All a beautiful evening on a special occasion.....happy women's day..March 8

Very much impressed with the food and interior of this place. We tried chicken karadi ,biryani and lamb karahi . But the star of the show is biryani . I still can't forget the taste. The ambience was cozy and inviting the service was quick .Friendly polite and well mannerd staff. I love the flavor of food and the soothing music played in the background. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others . It's a great place to go for a special occasion or a casual meal with family.

An amazing experience at my cousins engagement . The staff was wonderful very attentive and friendly I personally had a good experience with prashant. To be honest if you want a very nice meal for the weekends or a delivery at home this would be your place.

Farnaz Ahmadi, speak to you disgusting waiter. Saw him with his finger up his nose. Yes you saw me then quickly disappeared and came back drying your hands. I don't lie about this. We liked coming here for food. But that image is truly disgusting we won't ever come back. That's honestly the truth what I observed. Yuk.

I am immensely happy with the food we ordered from Rustom. I have eaten chicken curry in a lot of restaurants in Edinburgh but this karahi chicken was the best amongst it. So different and burst of flavours. The pulao rice was so flavorful and complemented the kadai chicken so well. Very good portions of food and packed properly. We also ordered dal makhani, malai paneer tikka, fish and chips, and naan which was tasty but kadai chicken was the winner. Thank you Rustom.

One of the best food i have ever had

Ok the Desi good was standard the fries were ok the rest wasn’t the grill wasn’t that good roti restaurant grill is much better compared to that and Kebabish grill is better from that next is the steak we order 2 times the steak but it was cooked in the right temperature and wasn’t tasty enough. The service itself is ok but the owner has no manners to speak to its customers he is an angry person and he doesn’t even know how to manage his team and customers and he can’t even manage himself and he doesn’t know how to manage his business he speaks rude to customers which is not nice and he complains when customers give him a complaint about the food and service and a owner is post to keep its customers happy not be angry with them I’ll be never visit this place again as it was an awful place.

Don’t waste your time or money visiting this place! Be careful to check your bill! We had a bottle of Prosecco added to ours. As we were leaving the table next to us also flagged their bill too. They just brought the card machine over with the amended bill with out an apology or a thanks after payment. The service was rubbish. Staff were lazy, arrogant and not interested at all. Don’t waste your time or money visiting this place. It’s appalling. There are many other better places nearby.

Have eaten here 3 times, food is excellent with authentic Pakistani flavours. Reasonably priced - huge plus point. Ambience & deco is fancy, roses at every table too. Planning to host my wedding reception here in January, will update review afterwards to share my experience. Looking forward to it! Update: We had our wedding at the restaurant. Food was delicious and guests enjoyed, we could play custom music, set up our own flower arch and signage. Thank you Rustom

We ordered from this hotel a day before and loved the taste of their food; veg biryani. Today we ordered for the same hotel and decided to do a takeaway order for collection. AZ took our order & I am pleased by his generosity, service & kind gesture - as he forgot to add the curry with the veg biryani to our parcel & later delivered to our hotel of residence. Five stars to AZ, kind and welcoming staff. Will surely suggest anyone who wants to try yummy food.

This is by far one of the best INDIAN/PAKINSTANI restaurants across UK! I’ve been to numerous Fine Dine restaurants in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Ireland but Rustam is just superb! Such AUTHENTIC desi food, specially the “on the bone Lamb Karahi” with garlic naan, just like we get it back home in subcontinent. I’m from Delhi and to find such authentic Lamb gravy item is rare. Also, they serve alcohol which add up to the whole scene. In case you’re looking for authentic Desi cuisines, this could be your best choice! Just ask the guys to prepare it more desi style and see the results 😉 We also ordered Lamb chops, aloo chana chaat in 2 different visits and were super satisfied with everything. Arrived for our table as booked at 9pm. Service was very speedy but we soon realised that was because the staff were in a massive rush to clear the restaurant of diners so they could go home. If you take a booking for 9pm you have to be expecting your customers to be eating at 10pm. We were left with no glasses and no water and the main restaurant doors were propped open so we could all feel the cold December breeze and get the message to shove off. We spent over £100. The food was bland and over sweet. The korma sauce was like custard. The other curries mostly very disappointing if not totally terrible. Poppadoms were fresh. Nan breads good. Overall, poor.

Briyani and peshwari naan are sooo nice~~ The waiter named AJ knows different languages include my home country language Malay and Mandarin, such a surprise

They serve Pakistani food mainly that what they claim and being a Pakistani and a food lover, the taste and the quantity mentioned is terrible and not authentic taste as well. The manager of the restaurant with a beard is not welcoming and is a rude person. Completely bad experience.

Got to Edinburgh late approx 10pm super hungry and they let us in with a friendly welcome. Ordered Lamb Jefrezi, mushroom rice and a cheese naan and WOW, really nice! Just the right amount of spice without blowing ya face off with taste to match. Good service and nice atmosphere. Thanks 🙏

Wonderful experience at the Rustom Restaurant. We had several dishes and all of them were delicious, especially seafood Pathia. All of our servers were extremely professional and hospitable, one of them was Prashanth. Overall, great experience, superb service and ambiance, and delicious food.

Everything about this restaurant is perfect.

Food was fine but not exceptional. Naan was quite dry. In the absence of a Jaipuri (which the waiter had never heard of!) he recommended a chicken karahi as a substitute which turned out to be nothing similar in any way. It also lacked sauce. I also ordered the egg and mushroom rice which contained an incredible amount of peas to the point the egg and mushrooms just tasted of peas too. The staff also were distant and not particularly welcoming. The restaurant was approx 1/4 full at peak dinner time and yet they would not provide a table (despite the many options) to allow a phone to be charged. I explained my battery was very low which I was relying on to a) pay for the meal and b) travel home. They just didn’t care and they were not able to explain why we couldn’t switch tables (prior to ordering or anything being served) despite several available charging points being visible. Having used the same couple of restaurants in the area for 20 years we wanted to trial a different option but we will not be returning to Rustom.
