If you are interested in spicy food, I would strongly recommend Rustom. The food was lovely and the team were very nice and friendly.

Food was absolutely delicious with really good value for money, My partner had the shami kebab and he said it was the best he's had in years. All the staff were friendly and very welcoming and I would highly recommend it.

Pakistani/Indian restaurant with beautiful spicy flavors. Spicy dishes (but not too strong) chicken shashlik (for example) very good curry sauce, very good garlic nan and pulao rice also very good An address to remember in Haymarket.

Worst customer service I’ve experienced in a restaurant. The less says the better. Food was good but the service from arrival just ruined it.

Food was good but service was terrible, clearly they were too busy to accommodate us, the manager being very rude and staff taking our plates away when we clearly weren’t finished eating, and to top it all off they charged us for items we never received, can’t say I’ll be back anytime soon

Very good value for money. Good portions, very friendly staff. Would recommend. The only thing that bothered us a little bit: the tables are very close and small, you can basically join the conversations of your neighbours. But maybe we just visited when it was really busy. The food was delicious, we really enjoyed our visit and would return.

Every time I blinked, another pint of beer magically appeared in front of me like some kind of booze-based sorcery. Honestly, who am I to question such divine intervention? Free beer is free beer. 10/10, would get distracted again.

I have simply not had a better Indian meal than here. We visited a couple of years ago and just had to revisit. It is as good today as it was then. The staff are so helpful and the food is so well presented. It's a joy to visit. I just wished we lived nearby.

I want to share the horrible experience I had during lunch today. I went alone to have a meal, and from the moment I walked in, I was treated with absolute disrespect. The man at the entrance looked at me as if I didn’t belong there and received me in the most unwelcoming way. Even while serving, he treated me as if I were a beggar, showing zero courtesy or professionalism. But what made it even worse? When it came time to pay, his tone was outright racist—condescending and dismissive. Meanwhile, when he served other customers, particularly white individuals, he was polite, warm, and attentive. This place is blatantly racist and lacks basic decency. Shame on you! Management, you need to look into this matter and improve your service immediately. No one should have to experience this kind of treatment. Avoid this restaurant at all costs! I've been to your restaurant on Saturday please find attached receipt

Called in because I was hungry before the football and left full and well sated! I had a biryani. There was a lot of it, the food was cooked beautifully, came in a hot pot and tasted delicious. Had a cobra beer to wash it down. If the game is as good as this meal, I’m in for a treat! Special mention to waiter Prashant.

Today on a freezing cold February afternoon I thought would just stop off for lunch before an appointment Table for one directed to a table right in front of door and stuck in a kind of weird place for a Solo diner stuck at a very prominent place while I would have preferred A . Somewhere warmer B. Some where more discreet Given previously eaten at this restaurant which is renown for being freezing knew not a good idea to sit at door made my way to one of the other numerous empty tables told had to sit at table allocated despite saying it’s freezing and. Wanted another table told that table or nothing On way out say several empty tables tables same size which were not offered Considering restaurant 80% empty there loss I had planned to go with friends later this week certainly will not be going now Food is generally good here but on this occasion cannot give a rating

We booked lunch here based on the good reviews this place receives. I'll be honest, we were quite disappointed with the overall experience, the food and the service. First and by far the worst part of our experience was that we were FREEZING! We weren't the only ones sat with our coats on, shivering as we tried to eat our food. It was -1 degrees outside and probably the same temperature inside. Next, I would describe the service as disinterested - not at all smiling or welcoming. It just felt like they were going through the motions. Finally, the food was average, not bad but not fantastic either. Overall, a very average lunch experience. I would award two and a half stars if I could. Probably won't be back in any hurry.

Standard Indian food as found in many other restaurants. Nothing really authentic. Vegetarian options standard and nothing exciting.

Brilliant restaurant...Came across here by pure chance and what a find! Best menu choice we have seen in a long time...The food was superb, especially the Lamb Seekh kebab, the Sindhi Biryani, the Lamb Shank Karahi and the Naan bread!...the staff were warm and attentive, from opening the door to welcome us, to closing it behind us with a thank-you!...We would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back next time we're in Edinburgh.

Dined at Rustam Restaurant last night and had an exceptional experience! The dinner was impressive a real fine dining experience , with three starters that set the tone for the meal. The seekh kebab was juicy and flavorful, the fish pakoda was crispy and addictive, and the spicy baingan was a delightful surprise and also had paneer tikka which were outclass The mains were just as impressive - the naan and roti were soft and freshly baked, the biryani was aromatic and flavorful, and the chicken Karahi was spicy and rich. But the real showstoppers were the desserts! The rasmalai was creamy and comforting, the gajar ka halwa was rich and indulgent, and the kheer was a refreshing and sweet ending to the meal. Overall, highly recommend Rustam Restaurant in Edinburgh for its delicious food, generous portions, and warm hospitality! 5/5 stars"

Tables crammed together. Food too spicy, normally shashlik isn’t spicy. Poppadoms tasted stale and we were given dips that were already used. Staff did there utmost to give good service though and it was a rugby night.

I recently visited Rustom Restaurant and was blown away by the quality of the food. Every dish was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. The was absolutely delicious I highly recommend it! The service was also top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot for I definitely be returning and bringing friends along.
