The best restaurants serving Indian food in Vale of White Horse South East

Booked an early dinner which meant the restaurant was fairly quiet. The staff were all lovely and made sure our experience was top-notch. The food was superb (first time I've had a Chinese starter followed by an Indian main). Every dish was perfectly spiced with tender meat and the sides were fabulous. Massive car park, interesting decor. A really good night.

But my order was not complete, no papadum but got charged for it

Restaurant is no longer trading! Looking forward to visiting after having read the reviews so was very disappointed to see an estate agent’s. sign outside the premises when I was staying in Wantage on 19th July.

My husband and I shared the Chef’s Signature Specials and were blown away by the depth of flavor and attention to detail. The balance of spices was impeccable, and each dish had its own unique character. Our son enjoyed his meal just as much, and the staff made sure he was taken care of with age-appropriate recommendations and friendly service. The service at The Viceroy was top-notch—attentive and genuinely warm, making us feel like honored guests without being intrusive. Im thinking this is under new management didnt listen to what i asked for! Took longer than normal forgot chips and naan bread ! They were so good before now rubbish ! Wont ever be using them again !!!!

Excellent madras curry & king pawn biriani and great service

Fantastic takeaway again from Elaichi. The food is wonderful and the portions are generous. We've also really enjoyed our meals in the restaurant. We almost always choose one meat and one vegetarian option and I especially like the range of vegetables in the veggie options. The meat is also lovely and beautifully cooked.

Would of been 5 stars if I received everything I paid for

They cannot delete the order 30 seconds after placing it. Terrible .🤦🏾 I've ordered from them more than once, but this was the first time I had to cancel due to late delivery. 1.3 hours.

First time ordering here and was highly pleased with what we received. 1 item was forgot but was quickly rectified and they were very apologetic, but mistakes happen. Food was absolutely amazing and would order from here again. Highly recommend

A staple of any Indian meal, they should be soft, flavourful, and cooked to perfection. Instead, they arrived half-baked with a texture that suggested low-quality ingredients. Even the chef’s special dishes, supposedly the highlights of the menu, were unimpressive. They lacked the depth, complexity, and attention to detail that one would expect from a restaurant advertising itself as an Indian culinary experience. Finally, the rice dishes tasted microwaved rather than freshly prepared, further detracting from the overall meal. Freshly cooked rice is an essential element of Indian cuisine, and its absence here was glaring. If you’re looking for good-quality, authentic Indian food in the area, Dil Raj is unlikely to satisfy. The food lacks the authenticity and care that define Indian cuisine, leaving little reason to return. I hope this review helps those in search of truly great Indian dining options to avoid disappointment.

Last night we visited Hanney Spice for their Monday Banquet Evening. It was absolutely delicious. Great service and atmosphere. Our first visit but definitely not our last. Many thanks to all.
