Royal Spice in Vale of White Horse

Ordered online to collect, great welcome as I arrived and waited less than 2 mins and they brought it would and helped with the door. Just dished it up and it's absolutely yummy.

Madras is awesome. Have been working my way through the sides menu and have been impressed with everything so far!

A fantastic Indian takeaway, a real find! Having eaten Indian food in most areas of the UK, this really is one of the best I've visited, and I would travel past others to get to it. Looks small and uninviting from the outside, but don't be put off, if you are in the Shrivenham, Faringdon area, this place is an absolute must. Portion sizes are superb and the set meals are a real bargin. Everything I have ordered from this little gem has been of the highest quality. I can't rate this place highly enough. You really won't be disappointed!

Awful food waste of my money 💴😔being an Indian I was expecting something good . I can make 100x chicken tikka much better . Now feels regret that I should have cooked my own food .

We lived in Faringdon for 6 years and adopted the Royal Spice as our favourite takeaway spot. Can't say better things about it. The order was always on point. There was the occasional longer delivery time during times such as the Football World Cup or Friday nights etc, but 99.99% time everything was great. The Madras is fantastic and the local service benefit and points based discount is really useful! Sad to lose it after moving away recently!

I just order food to my home and couldnt finish . Samosa was lovely but in curry i had hair inside . Even food is alright i dont think so will order again . If you work inside the kitchen you have to care about your hair . 😐

Can't believe how I was just treated by royal spice. I ordered through the app put in my postcode and signed in and chose the delivery option. I waited a long time and no delivery. When I phoned I was told It had been ordered to collect. I said I didn't and I remember going through every step to choose delivery. He got cross and said I didn't and asked angrily if I wanted it or not, I said I do but I can't come because I have a child in bed and can't leave him alone hence why I made sure to opt for delivery. I said I'm sorry if there has been a mix up somehow but I definitely did order delivery and could it pls be delivered. He swore at me and told me to never order from them again. Don't worry I won't.

Possibly the worst curry I’ve ever eaten. Bhaji’s weren’t bad.

Visiting my daughter over night ordered from here Saturday night I had chicken tikka shaslick my husband had chicken tikka jalfrezi just like to stay quick service and delicious food really enjoyed our meal look forward to our next visit to order again

Second time ordering as our first experience was reasonable. However, I wouldn’t order again and I wouldn’t recommend it. We ordered a prawn curry, and the sauce was obviously reused from a lamb curry. The taste of lamb was very strong and distinct. This made it inedible for the pescatarian who had ordered it, and fairly unpleasant for everyone else. It was also over £15! The vegetable curry was watery and tasteless, and the garlic chilli chicken had nearly no spice. Very disappointing, and very poor quality. Will not be ordering again or recommending to neighbours.

Arrived 15mins early. The food was plentiful, tasty and absolutely delicious. Folks it was our first time here and won’t be our last. FYI, we live in 10miles away and it was hot. Thank you!

Ordered food late in the evening. Was confirmed by just eat along with delivery on its way. We are lpcated in shrivenham, faringdon is less than 10 minutes away. Been waotong 30 minites since prompted that the order was on its way. Tried to call, no answer. Fuming. Food arrived cold, 30 minutes after just eat confirmation of deliveey. Questioned the driver who claimed the app is slow. Really dissapointed

Ordered the food quite late not knowing how long it would and it arrived 30 minutes later which I was really impressed with. Hot and super tasty

I tried to order a meal to be delivererd that i have always ordered from them. I have always ordered offer 1 or offer 2 which is a starter and main with a nan and rice. To be told they don't do offer one or 2 for delivery. I said ok i will have a lamb balti and 2 nan breads and a chicken tikka starter To then be told i haven't ordered enough for delivery. I said I'm eating alone and am ordering what i always have done before i don't care if i pay more and its not offer one anymore i don't need any more food than i have ordered and its never been a problem before. To then be called i lier that they have never delivered that offer or that amount of food. I have spent a lot of money with them over the years and will now never spend another penny.

Placed order at 4pm via just eat due to it being New Year's Eve and understand it would be busy. Requested order to be delivered at 6:30pm. Email confirmed delivery would be 6:45pm, no issue as understandably busy. Hubby rang restaurant at 7:35pm asking where order was to be told very rudely it had been delivered, it had not, hence the reason for the call, was then advised to give them 20 minutes. 30 minutes later our order arrived. The order was missing items, the food was cold and bland and some items were wrong. Tried to call again, however phone not being answered. I completely understand the time of year, however paying almost £60 for an order that's cold and incorrect isn't good. Wouldn't have been as bad if the customer service was good and we had at least received an apology but this was also non existent. Extremely disappointing.

Really enjoyed our curries, possibly the nicest we’ve ever had. Ordered online & the food came promptly, the delivery driver was friendly & the food was amazing. Will definitely order again!

This is my 3rd delivery since lockdown. Food is excellent, nice and hot and delivered within timescale given.. Ordered online which is dead easy. Only criticism is the lamb was rather chewy so advise to stick to chicken in future.

Great food, but the delivery driver just shrugged and walked off laughing when I told him that he should be wearing a face mask. Incredibly selfish attitude. Made me wonder if anyone there takes Covid19 seriously. I hope that they do, but not if his attitude is anything to go by.

Have now had takeaway twice and each time the food was good and plentiful. Slightly pricey but worth it.

Food tasty - Can’t complain. Would definitely use again. The naan bread was quite bland, hence the 4* but still a very good meal and delivered reasonably good time too

We've had meals from here before and always been great. Tonights food was heavily laden with onion, as in mainly onion and sauce and the meat was slimy. So disappointed, but maybe not the usual chef

Had a take away from here last night, website was a little tough to navigate on an apple but the 10% discount made up for it. The food turned up around 15mins before the time and was very hot, great when you’ve ordered a chicken cheesy dish. The starters were spot on and the main portions huge, actually I thought really good value. Will definitely use again

Had takeaway delivered 4 miles away. Arrived 10 minutes before allocated time which was great. Lovely food which we all enjoyed. Age range of family party was between 17 and 78 and there were no complaints. Would recommend for sure.

Had several takaway in recent months. The food is varied and different from your average indian takaway. There is a lot of choice so do try more than once. Prices are reasonable and staff polite and informative.

First time we’ve used Royal Spice. We ordered at 6pm, asking for a home delivery around 7.30. They said they could do 7.45. Fine- ordered for 4 people. It got to 8.15 and we rang to ask where it was- “they’ve just left”. Food eventually arrived at 8.30. Food was very nice and big variety. But part of our order was missing- we phoned up to tell them this and they apologised. However we had already paid for the complete order, so no refund. So 45 mins late, parts missing. Food nice- but pick it up yourself. Won’t be using again.

Some months ago the scores on the doors we're appalling for this takeaway. Following a follow up check the result was more favourable, so time to try again. Used the online ordering system and it worked a treat. Very easy to use and an email sent giving a realistic wait time. Went up to collect and it was ready when I expected it to be. The meal itself was very good and shall use again.

This used to be a small sit down restaurant/takeaway but is now just a takeaway and works better because of it. Their website to order on line couldn't be more easier to use and you can pay either by card or as I did press the cash button to pay when picked up or delivered, an email is sent to tell you your order has been received and when you can pick it up. We had a chicken Korma with rice and chicken tikka with Bombay potatoes it was plentiful and delicious it also came with a on the house complementary side dish which was a nice touch. Very friendly staff greeted me on arrival and the food was ready within minutes of me turning up. All in all two very happy customers.

Ordered online from JUST EAT, not knowing anything about this takeaway place, and only found out about it as I recently moved to the area and have been driving past it daily. I ordered and chose a time to pick my order up, and the food was ready on time for me to takeaway with no waiting around. The food is affordable and really tasty, you get a lot for you money and I found I was full up afterwards which is rare for me when I get a takeaway! Would defiantly recommend!

Only found this by chance as I had a discount code for Just Eat and this seemed to be the best place locally that would deliver to us. Very simple ordering and paying through the Just Eat app, got my 20% discount and received immediate email updates to say that the order had been received by the restaurant etc. I ordered early and requested delivery around 6.30pm - I think it arrived at 6.32pm! We sometimes have issues with our address confusing delivery people so it was lovely to receive our order without any fuss. The order was all correct, piping hot and as others have stated, we received a dish 'on the house' which was a nice surprise - a lentil side dish (Dhall Sambar on the menu). We had a range of dishes between us and the set offers work out as a good value option if you're happy to choose from the list of dishes that are included. This was fine for my in-laws but my husband and I tend to go for the more unusual/expensive dishes! He chose the Gun Powder chicken and whilst he loved it, the description was very accurate and it did blow his head off! I had a King Prawn Ceylon which was hotter than expected but really tasty with a good number of large prawns (I tend to go for medium/hot dishes but this was hot enough to make my eyes water!) The Onion Bhajis were lovely and crispy, the Tarka Dhall was thick and garlicky, definitely on a par with our usual favourite (Gulshan) and overall everyone was really impressed with the quality, quantity and flavour of the food. The main reason for dropping a star is that personally I eat either fish/seafood/vegetarian so would appreciate a wider choice of starters and mains - paneer, tofu and salmon would be great options, but I'm sure we'll order again from here either way.

Ordered a meal for two - chicken jalfrezi, chicken korma, both with mushroom rice, aloo sagg and naan bread. Living in a rural area 7 + miles from the resturant, I expected a delay with delivery, NO, meal arrived quickly, very well packed and presented also hot! Really enjoyed it. Thank you Royal Spice for a great meal and excellent service.

Royal Spice Faingdon has yet to let us down, after what must be about 20 orders in the last year. Quality of the food is excellent, and as good as any takeaway I've tried in the UK. The price is also very reasonable, and thowing in a little exta each time 'on the house' is a lovely touch. Delivery is always prompt. Highly recommended to everyone in Faringdon!

Wonderful food! Really liked the generous salad that comes with the starters. Also nice that there was an extra dahl on the house. Can order by Just Eat but just as tasty if order directly! Definitely recommend.

If you are stuck for a takeaway and you like a curry, you could not do any worse than The Royal Spice. A traditional takeaway serving good quality Indian Food at reasonable prices (they also deliver)
