Deep fried GF veggies in their own batter - wonderful. Good chatting to someone that understands what people want.

They are running a takeaway from the restaurant where people are sitting eating. The phone rings constantly, there are delivery drivers coming to the restaurant constantly to pick up orders. The waiters are running around constantly in the restaurant area in order to keep up with orders.

Was great when it first opened, We knew the owner and he had a real " spark" of enthusiasm. Now....its lost something. The food was OK.. comparable to other restaurants in the area, although expensive. , but the atmosphere is flat. We were almost the only couple. The owner sat around a corner looking bored and ignored us. Gave us a vague wave as we left with a cursory.." was the food OK?".... real lack of interest. Previously it was his enthusiasm that inspired us to go. We could have ordered a take away for all of the dinning experience, but reading the reviews of those....there is no way. A shame....end of an era...bye bye Spice Village.

I donât like writing negative reviews. I really donât. But this place was a bit meh. Nothing was âbadâ but nothing was particularly good either. The service was good and generally attentive but the food was disappointing and presentation was distinctly lacking. There were 2 full menus and perhaps thatâs the problem - they do a lot of dishes but none of them particularly well?

Ordered mixed starter ÂŁ8-9 piece of chicken, 2 piece of lamb, about a bites worth of sheek kebab and 1 tiny tiny samosa, really poor. Vindaloo not much flavour and chicken really small and no potato. Busy Saturday night so no idea why food was so poor

I've never had a bad curry here and the food was excellent again this evening. It was very popular, so I'm glad we booked. Since they removed the carpet a few years ago, it's slightly noisy, as there are few soft furnishings to absorb the noise. It also feels a bit chilly - not cold, but on the cool side. The staff are a bit business-like and lack charm with their service, but the food is why we come here.

Yummy! Staying in air bnb down the road - thought weâd try this place as didnât want to drive or catch bus. Wow what an amazing choice this was, very friendly staff - was welcoming and set up a table for us and got us drinks quickly. Amazing freshly cooked food, good portions too. Tandoori chicken biriani was to die for also comes with vedge curry on the side. Very good prices too, little gem and hope to return in future holidays to Brighton. Surprised it wasnât busier however they do takeaways too.
