It was the worse Indian food I had all my life. I normally do not write reviews but it was so bad that I had to share. Unfortunately we ordered for take away so we could not return the dishes, we barely ate the food. I order a veg masala curry that I do not know how on earth they think it was masala curry, the rice was bad cooked and my friend ordered a chicken curry that the sauce was all watery. Last place to get a good meal from

This place has gone so far downhill that it's gone out of sight. It was once a fairly good quality eatery but wild horses wouldn't be able to get me back in there. I got a takeaway from here and although it was tasty, it was very dry. I got the honey chicken and coconut rice and both the rice and chicken were dry, which was a shame. Delivery was also very slow and late from the expected delivery time, which was also a little surprising since it was a Tuesday evening.

Food obviously then arrived cold. Very bland and tasteless, lamb was chewy, korma tasted no different to the masala. Peshwari naan fell apart so we couldn’t even eat that. We were the only customers when we arrived, but it took nearly 30 minutes to get the food. It was way too sweet, let alone not spicy at all. I wonder if local people like this sweet curry given the rate they got. Those who know authentic Indian cuisine will be disappointed. The staff were very nice though.

We have been regularly ordering takeaways from here since we moved to Seaford three years ago. In the past they have always been tasty. Unfortunately we have noticed a gradual decline over the last 6 months in food quality and customer service. Our last takeaway was ordered at 6.50pm and were told an hour and a half wait time. Our food had not arrived 2 hours later so we called to see if we had been forgotten. A lady apologised and said it was just the naan left to cook so it would arrive within ten minutes. It was finally delivered a further hour later which took the total wait time to three hours. We understand you must have been very busy (this is great for you considering the impact covid has had on everyone’s finances) but we feel very disappointed with the service. We think it was more likely our order was forgotten and then we were lied to rather than told the truth. Our dinner was ruined as we were left waiting for 3 hours and ate very late. The only sign of amends was one extra onion bhaji and 2 extra poppadums. Considering we are loyal customers and spent £40 (which is a lot of money for us at the moment) we would have hoped to receive a stronger gesture by way of apology. We understand that mistakes happen but this was dealt with quite badly by your staff. Due to this experience, we will be unlikely to use Moon of India again. We emailed the restaurant a month ago to give the opportunity to respond (before leaving a bad review here) but we have had no reply.

Last two visits were very disappointing, we were offered a choice of two house wines , chose one but when we ordered a second bottle we were told that they had only the one bottle . Long wait for food to arrive , part of the order arrived at the table ten minutes after the first part , we had to ask twice before they remembered to bring some water and had to ask for the air conditioning to be turned down as it was so cold . We have been going to the Moon of India for over 20 years and are really disappointed with how it has changed from a friendly relaxed atmosphere to more like the hustle and bustle of a fast food outlet with poor service and untrained / unprofessional waiters / waitresses. The problems continued with our takeaway last night for ourselves and five friends , were told it would take one hour but after an hour and a half we phoned to check and it finally arrived over two hours after ordering with two items missing .On a positive note the food is good but We won’t be returning anytime soon .

To be honest I have not eaten a decent curry in Seaford for more than two years and certainly not bothered with a sit down meal for more than 3 years as quite frankly, the standard and quality of any of the restaurants is appalling, so for this reason why spend decent money on a meal that is rubbish, and that’s the reason why I choose to buy mine from Morrison’s Supermarket, they are cheaper and quick to cook and actually look better and taste extraordinarily good.I have been eating at Curry restaurants from 1971 as a young teenager and had more than my fair share of diverse experience in different regional Towns and London businesses including America and Europe I think I know what’s good and reasonably fair Indian cuisine, so I will be honest and fair in my opinions. My Wife and I ordered straight off the takeaway/ delivery menu which should be exactly what you would expect just the same as having a sit down meal, and having used the Moon of India before it simply has fallen down in my expectations immensely in quality and presentation of meals supplied. The food was supposedly two different dishes unfortunately they looked and tasted the same, the side dish was far too chunky when should be smaller pieces, the Nan should have had almonds but was filled with coconut and was dry and the onion Bargee also dry to the centre as if it had been precooked and sitting about for a couple of hours. Disappointed and annoyed but one positive has come out of this I will never eat or want to bother eating in any of the Seaford Indian Restaurants and rather travel to Eastbourne or Brighton in future where the quality has to be acceptable or they would just go under, how these Seaford Indian restaurants survive is a complete miracle and it’s no wonder at this standard if they will in the future.

Terrible take-away meal all round. Bland to start with, not gone near anything I associate with an Indian meal in terms of spices. When the menu says served with pilau rice they don’t send a portion with everything ordered on the menu and it is not pilau rice, so they short-change you right from the start. (Tried to tell me that pilau rice is healthier when they don’t use turmeric to make it, plus other spices that would give it a distinct flavour). In effect, one load of boiled rice served for two dishes that said they came, each, with pilau rice. The chapatis resembled out of date grainy dry flatbreads from the local supermarket and probably were. An under-cooked round thing purported to be a paratha, (‘What’s wrong with that?’ said the manager when showed the distinctly not cooked, not a paratha piece of rubbery bread). One of the chicken dinners was terribly sweet and the person who had it thought a mistake was made in using the wrong sauce for it as he had gone out of his way to order a meal that was not sweet. There are six local people minimum now who will not eat food from this dreadful restaurant in Seaford.

I am sad to say this was one of the poorest Indian meals I’ve had whether at home or in a restaurant. It was bland with tasteless ‘pulao’ rice (only one portion sent), breads which were like cardboard and curries with little flavour or heat. Very disappointing indeed.

Great food, all cooked fresh, a main, a rice or bread + sides. We were greeted by the manager- who remembered my food allergies, I’ve only been there 4times in the past 2yrs. Unfortunately it’s not terribly accessible, they have a ramped entrance, but the restaurant is narrow, so not really suitable for a wheelchair. The service was spot on, beers delivered when asked, food all hot and freshly cooked, including a special request at no extra cost. Thank you

A staple selection for Seaford, as one of the oldest Indian food restaurants in Seaford. Savory dishes steeped in rich sauces, good takeaway, restaurant section great for a meal out. Staff very polite and friendly.

Ordered mixed starter £8-9 piece of chicken, 2 piece of lamb, about a bites worth of sheek kebab and 1 tiny tiny samosa, really poor. Vindaloo not much flavour and chicken really small and no potato. Busy Saturday night so no idea why food was so poor

I don’t like writing negative reviews. I really don’t. But this place was a bit meh. Nothing was ‘bad’ but nothing was particularly good either. The service was good and generally attentive but the food was disappointing and presentation was distinctly lacking. There were 2 full menus and perhaps that’s the problem - they do a lot of dishes but none of them particularly well?

Was great when it first opened, We knew the owner and he had a real " spark" of enthusiasm. Now....its lost something. The food was OK.. comparable to other restaurants in the area, although expensive. , but the atmosphere is flat. We were almost the only couple. The owner sat around a corner looking bored and ignored us. Gave us a vague wave as we left with a cursory.." was the food OK?".... real lack of interest. Previously it was his enthusiasm that inspired us to go. We could have ordered a take away for all of the dinning experience, but reading the reviews of those....there is no way. A shame....end of an era...bye bye Spice Village.
