Can’t understand the good reviews. We ordered a takeaway, initially they said it would be an hour then it turns up 20 minutes later, so weren’t prepared for it. Upon arrival the food looks like it’s out of a tin. Chicken all the same size , square, and looks very processed . Poppadums were bland, onion Bhaji was small and dry, nan bread was decent, the coconut rice had colour in it, some green bits, yellow bits. So overall not impressed. Would seek another place for our next takeaway

In my opinion THE BEST Indian restaurant in Horsham. Excellent dishes, reasonably priced, great service (Mash the owner is always personable, welcomes everyone as if they are his special guests, fabulous customer service). I love it! Cannot recommend highly enough.

This is one of our local Indian restaurants and we do like the flavour of the food served. However, it is a little frustrating that the vegetables used are not of a standard to match their flavour. I ordered the Vegetable Balti (as a non meat eater) which is described on the menu as being cooked in a ‘speciality Balti paste with pieces of onion, red and green pepper’ - my curry had none of these. The Balti vegetables mainly consist of a bagged frozen mix of sweetcorn, diced carrot and beans - I also got a piece of potato and a piece of cauliflower. I understand that it is costly to use fresh vegetables but stocking some onions and peppers should surely be covered in the prices charged. Even if the frozen mix was balanced with some freshly prepared vegetables it would make a difference and would mean we would be likely to order more often. The other local tandoori does include a wider range of vegetables so it would be great to see Elaichi do the same. If I was rating on flavour alone my rating would be better but in terms of quality of ingredients it has to be average.

Delivered on time and hot. Really good value. I ordered the Naga Bengal with lamb, which I'd never had before but will be again. The smell of spices hits you as soon as you open the lid, and it's hot without being overpowering. Plenty of meat, which was tender and cooked well, even though I prefer it cut into larger pieces. There are finely chopped onions, peppers, and thick cut garlic visible in the sauce. It all felt very fresh and was finished with a generous coriander garnish. The pillau rice was cooked perfectly and really fragrant. I also tied a bit of the tikka masala which was creamy and thick with a coconut flavour. Garlic naans were large, my only issue would be that that they were a little dry. I like naan bread thick and soft, but they tasted good and there was lots of sauce to mop up. Overall extremely impressed with the quality, price, and friendly speedy service.

My friends regularly pass the So India to and from visits to their holiday accommodation in Bridport. But they pass the door too early for the restaurant to be open or too late and it is closed. each time they vow to go in. A recent visit to Sussex allowed my wife and I to host an evening at the So India. My friend's had arrived a few minutes before us but the management had made them welcome and on our arrival we moved to our table. Even though this was a Friday Evening the restaurant was not totally rammed and its location means that the 'Friday Night OAF element' rarely find their was to the door. We chose a slightly cramped corner table but once we had settled the restricted space was not an issue. My friend was delighted to find an item on the menu that he had never seen in any other Indian Restaurant and he and his lady travel to and from London and acrosss europe regularly so it was a bit plus point to find something that is not provided elsewhere. So India has a comprehensive Menu which in reduced form is available as a take away either from the Restaurant direct or from the various carry-out curry houses on the Sussex coastal strip which are all part of the chain. I have eaten at this restaurant several times and found the meals to be wonderfully tasty and nourishing not just a hot spicey sauce with meat and rice which can be the case with many other restaurants. In conversation my friends and I agreed that the SoIndia is worthy of several other visits in future and my friend was also going to recommend it to his wider circle of friends and relatives. Service was attentive and friendly and helped make the evening a pleasure. We will be back again for another sampling of the menu.

Stayed over in Horsham as had a team meeting on Monday 16th September! I am President of the Cheshire Curry Club and each time I go out I always adjudicate the same meal…Chicken Tikka Bhuna, madras hot…especially enjoyed the Papadom (not sure how you spell it) pickles…the curry itself was good, the chicken pieces a fair size, the rice portion was small…got to the bottom of the sauce and it had gone watery…overall I was pleased with the meal, always order the bottles of kingfisher or cobra as they are 660ml so more than a pint and for about 10p more so great value…Will visit again in 3mths…from Macclesfield in Cheshire.
