The Curry Lounge in Ashington is hands down our favourite restaurant in the area. Whether we’re dining in or ordering takeaway they always remember our names and greet us like old friends, and that personal touch makes all the difference. The food itself is absolutely outstanding. Every dish is packed with flavour, cooked to perfection and consistently delicious. We’ve tried countless Indian restaurants over the years including many of the top spots in London, and the Curry Lounge genuinely holds its own against the very best. From fragrant biryanis to rich, spicy curries and perfectly baked naan, everything is done with care and quality ingredients. The service is warm and attentive, and the atmosphere always feels welcoming. Highly recommended, a true local gem that delivers five-star Indian cuisine every time.

Delivered on time and hot. Really good value. I ordered the Naga Bengal with lamb, which I'd never had before but will be again. The smell of spices hits you as soon as you open the lid, and it's hot without being overpowering. Plenty of meat, which was tender and cooked well, even though I prefer it cut into larger pieces. There are finely chopped onions, peppers, and thick cut garlic visible in the sauce. It all felt very fresh and was finished with a generous coriander garnish. The pillau rice was cooked perfectly and really fragrant. I also tied a bit of the tikka masala which was creamy and thick with a coconut flavour. Garlic naans were large, my only issue would be that that they were a little dry. I like naan bread thick and soft, but they tasted good and there was lots of sauce to mop up. Overall extremely impressed with the quality, price, and friendly speedy service.

Had a lovely evening here with the football team, think there was between 10-14 of us and we were served drinks as soon as we came in. We did pre order our mains and at the last minute a couple of us ordered starters which came out very quickly, this wasn’t an issue for the staff which was amazing. Service was really good for the whole evening and everything was brought I us very quickly. I had the chicken korma and prawn purée and it was lovely, good size portions and everything was hot and seemed fresh. The restaurant was nicely decorated and seemed clean. Maz and the staff were all great and there was always someone around for anyone to order another drink or anything. I have had a few takeaways from here over the years and never had an issue, food has always come quickly and been hot. I think once there was a delay as it was a busy night but we were given some free drinks and sides so we’re very happy. I would recommend this restaurant and will be coming back with my family. Maz thank you for a lovely evening!

Being left in the lurch by a change in plans put us into So India for Sunday Lunch. Sunday Lunch was always very hectic at country pubs with indifferent service and long waits for sometimes indifferent food - so we thought we'd try lunch with a hint of spice. This visit was perhaps the forth or fifth visit we have made, usually these are on weekday evenings. Sunday lunch at an Indian tend to come in two forms quiet or chaos. Usually the latter s the preserve of normal Banquet time. Fortunately So India has it's banquet in the evening on Sunday so we had the entire restaurant to ourselves! Our menu choices arrived reasonably briskly and both were definitely familiar Indian spiced fayre. As ever we enjoyed our meal and service was reasonably attentive. With so few guests it was pleasing that the staff were unobtrusive, nothing worse than being hovered over by your waiting staff. All in all our Sunday Lunch was a success and we rose replete with the warmth of the spices on our lips and a comfortable swell to our stomachs - it may have been a very quiet lunch but after a busy week meeting friends it was nice to have some quiet time to recuperate. We will be back as So India is ideally placed for Lunch or Dinner. If you pass through Pulborough and find yourselves wondering what So India is like - why not stop next time you drive by and find out. But don't go on Monday as they are closed...

We saw the previous (poor) reviews but decided to take a chance as Cinnamon has always been brilliant in the past. I'm so glad we did! Absolutely delicious balti, naan and rice. The service was excellent and the restaurant was warm and welcoming. Prices are fair. Ladies loo was spotless (my only suggestion would be to re-paint the radiator in there). I'm not sure what happened a few months ago but hopefully it was just a blip. We'll definitely be back.
