Very friendly staff, good food and reasonable price

Fantastic restaurant with big choice of meat and vegan curries, including vegan curries. The best curry I've had in the UK since I became vegan a few years back.

Only had takeaway twice but so far the food is indicative of what would doubtless be a decent restaurant meal too. I've selected '5' for atmosphere because leaving it blank seemed a bit stubborn. First time I possibly ordered Jalfrezi and Butter chicken or similar but last night it was a Goan Fish curry, a Harilaya chicken, Fish pakora and cauliflower starter. It's all delicious, clean tasty food and we're super glad to have found another curry house that delivers to us as the one we've been using (in Cowfold) last 3 years got progressively worse until they've started cooking almost exclusively with what tastes like palm sugar and jam. This kitchen has some people who know they're stuff in there! The prices are right and we'll not be going anywhere else from now on, plus the chap that delivers is really friendly too: I imagine they all are.

Whi.st it is a little further out from us, last wee we decided to finally try the Curry Lounge. I am so glad we did, as it will now be our choice for Currie's. Firstly I arrived less around a minute before the time requested when ordering online. I was asked to take a seat and was expecting to wait for around ten minutes as I usually don't he the Kushbo restaurant in Upper eeding. I was seated for just a few moments when the gentleman who had greeted me upon my arrival, came over with my order. So 10 out of 10 for service and the food being ready upon pickup not ten to fifteen minutes later. The food we received was fantastic, every dish was delicious. The meat was succulent, the rice light perfectly cooked, not undercooked and hard of sticky and clagy. Everything tastes fresh and bursting with flavour. If you are seeking outstanding food, look no further.

Absolutely incredible food, fantastic menu, nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Vindaloo wings are a must try and 100% would go back again. Able to provide a highchair for our daughter and were family friendly.

Plus points- Great food in comfortable setting.Good choices including Vegan available. We all enjoyed the ambiance. Negative- miserable ,monosyllabic waiter disinterested in his guests.Left high and dry after initial order.Just unlucky I think as other waiters seemed fine.Food took eternity to arrive also.

Good food, but felt our experience was ruined by the owner. Felt like we were constantly being watched and kept interrupting our meal by asking if we wanted to order more drinks when we hadn't even finished our beers. I've dined here twice, not sure I'd return.

Delicious food, reasonably priced, attentive staff and great atmosphere

Food was good, tasty and with a little flair.

Probably says it all – if a curry restaurant is busy on a Thursday than it has to be good. Likeable staff, warmly greeted and attentive throughout the meal; good range of dishes and if it’s not on the menu, just ask and they’ll try to do it for you. Big portions and they provide take-out trays when you can’t finish what they give you. Recommended

Delicious curries, the usual and unusual curries and starters are beautifully presented. We have moved from the immediate area but will still be coming here for our favourite, Dhansak Prawn Pilau, Biriyani, liver curry starter, prawnpatia, and many more delicious dishes.

Thirty five years ago I lived in Ashington. The Curry lounge used to be called The Top Shop. I have been hearing good reports about it now, so I went along with two friends last Thursday 25th July 2024. It was fabulous. The Food was the service was, and it has had a recent makeover. I am going back with two other friends tonight, Sunday, just to make sure I wasn't dreaming.

Visited on Sunday 21st July. Excellent food and service from friendly staff in a lovely restaurant. Will be returning soon.

Service from Caitlyn was excellent, good to see a young person working well. Food was great.

Fabulous curries! Take away, delivered to Henfield. Food arrived piping hot and absolutely delicious. Delivery was £4 IIRC but well worth it. Loads of meat, beautifully cooked and so tasty. I would rate it amongst the best I have ever eaten in over fifty years of eating Indian food.

We had a wonderful meal here tonight celebrating a birthday. We arrived to find our table had been decorated with a birthday banner and balloons which was lovely! Such attentive, friendly staff and the food was amazing. So tasty and beautifully presented. We would give 10 stars if we could.

Ordered a takeaway, staff were really friendly and polite. Food was extremely saltly to the point the dishes taste was completely lost. Really disappointed!! If I was sitting in the restaurant would have sent both our meals back

Ordered, for delivery, as part of a big group. Told it would be an hour. Arrived in half an hour. Excellent food, correct order despite the number of dishes, delivered hot. I ordered the Gurkhas Revenge, which was delicious. The rest of the party were also pleased with their choices. Highly recommended.

A 2nd visit takeaway. A six oclock meal. Very good menu choices and well cooked food. King Prawn Korma, Pheswari Naan, Chicken Tikka Starter and a Curry Lounge Rice, my only one request would be a bit more mushroom in the rice. Modest price and 10% off for collecting.

First off, just want to say that the food from here is great, but the service we received the other night was bad enough for me to come and write this review. We ordered dinner for 5, including for 3 kids, on the night of the first England match of the Euros. I was totally aware that it would be a busy night and was prepared to wait for longer than usual. We ordered around 7pm, received an estimated delivery time of 8.20pm. When the food hadn't arrived by 8.50pm I rang them up to ask when they thought it would arrive, letting them know that I knew it was a busy night and not to worry about it. I was told that the food was leaving now and should be with us shortly. We live about 8 minutes away from the place but the food did not arrive until 9.25pm. No offer of a discount for next time, no concessions to anything, just the same apology that didn't really hold any weight after we'd been lied to about the delivery time. 2.5 hours for a takeaway to arrive... bit of advice if the owners are reading this - be truthful about delivery times and if you're that drastically late then offer some form of compensation. A 10% discount on your next meal maybe. It's not much but some kind of gesture would go a long way and I probably wouldn't be here writing this...

Haven’t been for almost 18 months as previous visits were very poor indicating it had gone downhill in quality as we used to favour this place over most others in the area. This time the quality and care had returned and the food and service both very good.

We've been going to the Curry Lounge and ordering food to takeaway for about year now and we absolutely LOVE it! Last night we had my wife's birthday dinner there with our family and it was superlative! The owner and the staff are kind, attentive and very patient! The food is the best Indian food around and very affordable! We highly recommend Curry Lounge in Ashington!

We have been coming to Ashington Curry Lounge for many years. They offer a variety of curry, signature dishes and they are always consistently good.

Really lovely meal and feel to the restaurant.

We hired The Curry Lounge for our anniversary party. 65 people attended. Everything went perfectly. I'm vegetarian, and the chilli paneer was the best I've ever had. All the food was amazing. Everyone was complimenting the chicken and lamb dishes. Dahl was also fabulous. The most important part was that the staff did everything necessary to accommodate us, our friends and family. Thanks Belal and all staff for a wonderful event.

We had a family takeaway one Saturday evening and it was absolutely delicious. It arrived within half an hour ahead of our expectations and was so well cooked and not greasy at all. Would definitely recommend - one of the nicest takeaway curries I have had in a long time.

For feedback The onion bhajis were too crispy with little content and flavour and the presentation was too elaborate with no mint sauce. The lamb curry was a disappointment, too few small pieces of lamb and almost a mushy tomato pieced sauce which just didn’t go.

Long overdue return to our local Indian, which has been through many changes over the 20+ years we’ve been coming here. Pleased to say the evening was very enjoyable - food very authentic curry dishes & some new specials. The restaurant was very busy, but the food came at a reasonable pace. We enjoyed starters (their own smoked salmon was really good), mains - biryani very authentic with crust top. They also brought out a cake, as it was birthday meal.

Amazing meal. Great place to go.

The food was excellent! I had the prawn and it was cooked perfectly. My family had masala, chicken 65 and tandoori mix grilled. The service was wonderful. The ambiance was perfect as they refurbished. Overall, this was an incredible dining experience.I had a great experience at this restaurant and definitely will come back and recommended everyone to try it out. First visit to this curry house and it was well worth it. The food and variety was excellent everything was well prepared and presented and delicious. The restaurant is nicely decorated and very roomy unlike so many other places were the guests are tightly squeezed into small spaces with no room between the tables. Highly recommended.

Tasty meals at good prices and sensible portions

We went tonight for dinner and were not disappointed. The food was absolutely amazing - we both agreed best curry we've had. The onion bhaji's were honestly the best I've ever had. Sometimes they can be soft and greasy, these were the complete opposite. You've got to try the chilli paneer too! The lamb was fall off the fork delicious. The staff were so accommodating and friendly we felt so at home for our first visit. We will definitely be going back.

Tried it a year ago and didn’t enjoy and thought I’d give it another chance. 3 curries and all said the same thing……bland. Garlic rice is wet rice with some uncooked garlic thrown in. At least we confirmed our original rating. Really disappointing.

Had a takeaway from here last night, hubby collected so got a 10% discount. Meal was ready on time and piping hot. Vegetable Pasanda was Lovely and flavourful. Husband and son had Lamb Rogan Josh and Chicken Tikka masala with lemon rice with cashews and mushroom rice and both said they were very tasty. Onion bhajis were delicious too. Would recommend their takeaway meals . Can't comment on eating in the restaurant as haven't yet but we plan to in near future.

Consistently great food and service, I can’t recommend them highly enough.

It is really good especially the seafood platter. Very dishes has incredible textures and every curry dishes taste different in a good way. We went with an Indian friend and she likes it very much.

We were visiting the South Downs from London and found this amazing Restraunt. The staff and food were amazing. My girlfriend was asking about the Chicken Mughlai Tikka, but decided to go for something different. When the food came out the staff brought us some Chicken Mughali Tikka on the house so we could try it. The entire meal was delicious. Tender Lamb Sagwala and a delightful chicken tikka masala. The Naan bread was light and fluffy. Please support these lovely people.

Best curry around for miles. Been multiple times and always amazing

Booked a home delivery. Delivery experience was very good but the food was substandard compared to what we’ve normally experienced here. Starters of Paneer Chillis, Prawn Puri and kebab very good and probably the highlight of the meal. Mains of Tandoori Chicken was ok although I wish they wouldn’t use all that red die it’s so unnecessary. Side dish of Cauliflower Baji, spinach paneer and mushroom baji were quite honestly sloppy and tasteless which again is unusual compared to the quality we usually experience with take away or eating in at this restaurant. Definitely need to up the quality of food served if they want me to keep coming back.

Booked a table at The Curry Lounge for a family birthday dinner. Never been there before, but will definitely be going back. Excellent service and very good food, all served in very comfortable and clean surroundings. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Wow. If I could give The Curry Lounge 15* I would. The service was exceptional, we were greeted by two friendly men who confirmed our order to us twice and were incredibly polite — using our names, wishing us a good night and even holding the door for us. The food is amazing. It’s the exact Indian food you’re looking for when you start to crave it — super flavourful, cooked to perfection, not overly oily. Prices are fair for the portion sizes and quality. Not to mention their clearly marked Vegan menu, making catering to one of our party’s dietary requirements a breeze. As newly arrived residents, we’ll be frequenting The Curry Lounge for sure and would definitely recommend them. Thank you!

Have been here a couple of times since moving to the area. Only a small venue but great food and service. Can get a tad noisy. Staff are quite friendly but could do with an extra waiter. Lamb and Chicken Tikka both excellent and properly marinated.. succulent!

Tried this restaurant for first time after disappointing meals slightly nearer to home. Very pleasantly surprised with attentive of staff, quality of food and portion size. Glad we didn’t do a starter although they all looked good. Also very good value for money… highly recommend.

Don't often review but I was so pleased with our beautiful meal tonight from Curry Lounge. We were supposed to go out for my mum's birthday but she wasn't well so ordered a tikka korma for delivery instead, one of our favourites but not often done well. As our first try of this place we were delighted with the dishes we received, good prices and polite and helpful service. The delivery driver was also incredibly polite and friendly. We will definitely use Curry Lounge again. Many thanks!

Well above average Indian food in a quiet village setting. The staff are friendly and happy to help and the menu is varied and interesting. I highly recommend the chicken 65 dish which is a complex dish with amazing flavours, it feels like it's been cooking for hours to develop. My new goto dish. Soft drink glasses are questionable though 😜

Ambience was worth 4 * But food was 2/3* Portion was big worth the money but taste wasn't good enough.. it was just okay. Their beetroot kebab were the only best but again portion was too small, just 2 pieces Jackfruit biryani was worst Chilli chicken was okay.
