We visited this restaurant as it was on a straight road from the Mercure hotel where we were staying. It was a 20 minute walk or a short bus ride. It is a bring your own alcohol restaurant. The interior was pleasant as were the staff. We had tandoori lamb chops and tandoori chicken and shared a side of chips. We enjoyed our evening meal.

Ordered from here because of great reviews elsewhere but unfortunately found the food to be very bland on our first order. The reviews tempted us back a second time but again, very bland food. Tikka chicken the right colour but no taste and the lamb was inedibly chewy. Breads were inedible too as too old and dry. One starter was excellent, the other poor. One main course good, the other two also poor. Prices on the high side for a takeaway which can be justified if the food is good - Alas, on these occasions, it wasn't and we won't be going back.

Formerly known as Nasib Tandoori on Kew Road in Birkdale, this Indian take-away has new owners and a new name - The Tandoori. (I believe it is now owned & run by the people behind Kasturi on Eastbank Street in Southport town-centre.) On entering, I particularly liked the view through to the kitchen - giving me confidence in their offer. Selecting from a smart and comprehensive menu, I ordered the following: King Prawn Danchak (£9) Mushroon Rice (£2.60) Aloo Gobi side dish (£2.75) They advised me waiting time was 30 minutes and the food was ready in about 25 mins. All dishes were enjoyable. Decent portion sizes and good prices. The King Prawn dish had 10 large prawns which were very tasty. I asked for my vegetable dish to be made hot and they got this right. All in all it was pretty good and I`ll be back. Main course chicken curry is a very reasonable £4.75 & boiled rice is £1.65, so you can eat from here without breaking the bank. Free parking directly outside the venue, on the road nearby, or across the road. PRO TIP: ring ahead to place your order on 01704 568637. If you collect and spend £15 or more, you are entitled to a portion of pakora & poppadoms for free!

Great menu - lots of options and variety. We had the lamb karahi and chicken garlic butter curry’s with garlic nann and rice, long with some poppadoms. The food was lovely. Good portion sizes and the staff were really friendly. We will be back!
