Love Masala in Cheshire West and Chester

We’ve just eaten in for the Wednesday deal and had the best experience! Everything we had tasted amazing and such good value for money! The waiter was so friendly and chatty he was great. We’ve lived in saltney for a few years and never tried here wish we tried it sooner. And you can bring your own booze!

Date: Friday evening 23/08/2024 My husband went into the venue to order: 2 x lamb chops (under tandoori dishes) as takeaway. The chops were so tough that they were not edible. The vegetable curry sauce was insipid, the salad for 2 consisted of a few salad leaves, and half a cocktail tomato squashed into a pladtic packet. No mint yogurt. What a waste of money.

Ordered here for the first time, this was honest Indian food with much taste, ordered the Quorn biryani, chappati, tarka dahl, vegetable samosa, all were really good, not oily. Impresse. The premises doesn't look appealing but damn the food cooked here is great!!

Sunday buffet was absolutely amazing, poppadoms, plenty of starters and then about 6 curry choices, rice and sides. Was so reasonable, we took our kids so they could try different bits and they didn't even charge for the kids. Really good value, friendly service. Definitely recommend.

Have eaten in before but on this occasion, ordered on line to take out. As always, prompt, courteous service and the food was delicious.

We went for the Sunday buffet. The food was brilliant and fantastic value for money. We will definitely be making more visits in the future!

First off the phone lines didn’t work so calling to make an order wasn’t possible, we had to drive in and order, when I informed them he knew but chose not to tell me when I collected a menu and hour prior,seems just eat is there preferred method of service as the restaurant was empty, the food smelt and tasted amazing initially however we soon noticed all dishes appeared the same. No difference between the butter chicken and Dansak other than some onion and coriander,no lentils, no spice and these are two very different Currys ,I love spice and the food appeared very plain in terms of flavour. The keema rice and saag aloo were fantastic.

Went in after 9pm on a Sunday and they were closing but very friendly man said they could do us a takeaway. It was ready fairly quickly and we’ve just finished it and must say one of the nicest Indian takeaways we’ve had in a while. I had the chicken shashlik and pilau rice and they put in a lovely vegetable sauce to go with it. Chicken was lovely and fresh and lovely big chunks of veg. Husband had a lamb dish which the man recommended as my husband likes spicy (can’t remember the name of it so Love Masala if you read this review let us know) and the flavours of the lamb curry was amazing with lovely veggies including spinach and my hubby said it tasted very healthy. We had raita and naan bread and was all delicious. They do a buffet on a Sunday 4pm to 9pm so we’ll defo come back and try it. Very impressed- thank you.

Excellent food! Service was good but slow. Children were ravenous by the time it arrived (as was I!) Looks like there's a lot of takeaway food going out to the detriment of the people in the restaurant

Sat here now and totally disappointed as past reviewers have said takeaway orders seem to be priority Walked in at 8.45 was told we close at 10 fair enough but a bit rude its 9.40 and still waiting for our food will not becoming back 8 takeaway orders have gone out very disappointed the restaurant looks like a pop up no heating on and dead atmosphere waiter rude cutlery just thrown onto the table

Really disappointed. We have been told the food here is fabulous from friends and so finally tried it and was really dissatisfied. Chicken chat was lovely but popadom was soggy. We ordered a dopiaza and butter chicken and received two dopiazas. After my girlfriend calling them to ask if we could collect a butter chicken the staff asked her to repeat the story to a few staff members to then be told the two dishes were very similar and that we had a butter chicken. We know the difference between the dishes and after she explained this to him he continued to say it was fine. Finally after asking , "what she wanted him to do about it" she asked if we could come and get our actual order. He then told us that we had to return the dishes and pick up the chicken. At this point we had had enough and I told him we were very disappointed in the customer service and it had ruined our evening treat. The dopiaza wasn't very nice either and s we have had to add ingredients to it to enjoy our dinner. Really disappointed and won't go here again. It could have been a simple fix.

Food all tasted the same starters sheek kebab too salty other mains biryani tasted hot as well as sauce which shouldn't be been once won't come back

Really lovely food and great service. Food was a little later than I was told to collect it (of no bother to me at all, I was in no rush!)but the staff were really apologetic about it. Would definitely return if I was visiting the area again 😊

What a find!! I count myself as somewhat of an expert in Indian takeaways. Having tried approximately 20 within at 15 miles radius of Chester recently. All the usual sides ordered and main being Chicken Tikka vindaloo. Most places have long since stopped serving vindaloo with any semblance of heat however, I asked these to add some heat into it for me and they did. This was my second visit and like the first I can't fault the service or quality of the meal. Really friendly staff when you go in to collect it. I will definitely be back for a 3rd visit and 4th and 5th and so on. Thanks for a great meal.

Went on a recommendation from a friend, and the restaurant is now our preferred Indian takeaway. Extensive menu and a refreshing change from other restaurants in the area. 15% off all meals except set meals, and only on collection orders over £10. We are working through the menu and have enjoyed everything to date. Penni naan is new to us, and can be very hot (chiili). Friendly management.

Lack of service due to only one member of staff front of house. Take aways were more important. 6 phone calls taken within 15 minutes. We were left sitting at our table with no drinks or menus for over half an hour. It’s a real shame as I know the food is good!

What a shame! Used to love it here but tonight we were left for half an hour and when asked if we could order some drinks were told they were too busy, but he had no problem taking the take away orders. It would have taken 2 minutes to get us some drinks, we had no problem waiting for food but when the phone takes priority over your customers sitting in the restaurant, thats bad management. I have never had such a bad experience in a restaurant before.

I live in Hoole, so I don'y normally drive across town for a takeaway, however, I was going over to my son's place in Broughton so decided to try Love Massala. I'm glad I did the food was absolutely delicious, we had some starters and three main courses. My son can usually bank on some leftovers for the following day, not on the occasion. Also I had a lovely friendly welcome when I arrived to pick up my order, and great value to boot! Highly recommended .

Only ever had takeout but the food is sublime.

The manager is a nice person. We did turn up last minute for a take away. The chips were very nice and the pilau rice, but the butter chicken was nothing like I've ever had before (NOT IN A GOOD WAY), no idea what it was but wasn't butter chicken and my friend ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and the thing tasted like Tomato puree. Sorry but I don't recommend it at all. I was so disappointed.

We have had a takeaway meal from here before . It was so nice to dine in. We went for my sons birthday. Shorif welcomed us & was very pleasant throughout ordering the meal & :serving our meal. Top marks! The meal was lovely as always. We will most definitely be back to dine in.

I have not had a sit down meal here for many years but when I did they were lovely. Over the past 18 months I have had many takeaway meals and everyone was delicious. I personally think its the best Indian food in Chester area. Lasts one was on Saturday was great, fresh and plenty of it.

We had a takeaway when stopping at local holiday accommodation. The food was delicious, it is definitely more restaurant quality than a normal takeaway. The 5 of us had different things, all piping hot and all tasty. The chicken Bhuna is lovely!

Had the most amazing meal for my birthday last night. Considering there were 20 of us, nothing was too much trouble for the staff. They went out of their way to make sure everything was brought out on time. Everyone had the set meal which is such amazing value for money. Nobody was disappointed at all & there was enough food to feed another 10 of us. The staff are so friendly. It’s so refreshing to find such a fantastic place to eat on your doorstep. Food average and staff rather inattentive. All the other Indian restaurants I've ever tried in Chester were a nicer experience. I've been her three times (it's close to my house), so it's not absolutely awful - but nothing to write home about either.

This is fairly local to me and I've been three times altogether, but I think I won't be returning. The food is not the best Indian food you can get in Chester, and the service just is extremely inattentive. It's not a pleasant experience for a sit-down meal if you've got people collecting fast food stood next to your table either. I've had far better service and tastier food too in any other Indian restaurant I've tried in Chester. It's a shame because it would be great to have a local eatery that I enjoy going to in Saltney.

We were staying in the area and happened upon this restaurant. I must say I was fabulous! It’s a shame that we have nothing of this standard locally. Yes the interior of the restaurant is quite basic, but this is certainly made up by the friendly staff and great food!

I'm gobsmacked at the positive reviews for this place. I thought it was terrible. Had a takeaway of byriani, mixed grill and lamb jalfresi. The grill was mostly chicken which was OK but the lamb chop was mostly bone. The lamb in the cuury was small, over cooked and grissley. The byriani was just rice with a bif of meat and veg and some curry powder. Just ropey. We binned most of it

First time ordering with Love Masala and won't be the last, the Lamb Dhansak and Dupiaza was incredible. Great service too, so glad to have this place down the road!

Ordered for 17.50 not ready till gone 18.30. Its irrelevant if you order on line and are given a time they won't make it till you arrive, which if you buy other food from other takeaways that food is cold!!! Don't get me wrong great food just a terrible service.

Ordered a takeaway online. Ordered 2 lots of popadoms with chutnry etc. This shold have been 2 lots of 4 popadoms., instead they sent me 2 popadoms charging me 7 pound odd. The most expensive popadoms I've ever had.

On a family visit to Chester spent our last night having an enjoyable meal at Picanha. Been at a few of these rodizio style brazilian steakhouses and this didn't disappoint. Visited picanha for my boyfriends birthday and it was such an experience ! The food was so tasty and the service was fast and prompt! They also gave us a small cake and sparkler to celebrate the birthday which was complementary and extemely thoughtful!

If you like/know your Indian food, you will appreciate this place. We have gone through all the Chefs Specials and Reccomendations. Food is absolutely amazing. The staff are so lovely and welcoming. Highly reccomend

We stayed at an AirBnB in the area and got lucky to stumble on this place. The inside is clean and the service was prompt. The food came out hot and delicious!... oh, and they probably have some of the best naan bread i've ever had! The server (Baba), was a great guy and made us feel so welcome... Thanks! The prices are really cheap for the high quality food and service. If you are anyway in this area, make sure you stop by for a great meal!

We went to love masala to get a takeout we waited over an hour and a half for our food they never even told us how long it would be or even apologise for the wait when we did get back home which is only a short drive the food was more or less cold and really greasy the chips was half done terrible service tonight I hope this improves as the food is alright but the service is just terrible which is a big downfall as sometimes that makes a big difference in a restaurant
