Bombay Quay in Cheshire West and Chester

Honestly one of the best Indian meals I've had in ages. It was excellent. The service was a little slow at times - our onion bhaji didn't turn up until we'd almost finished our main, not the end of the world and they were good enough to take it off the bill but glad it did turn up because it was absolutely banging. And I know my onion bhajis. Aside from a few delays on food or drink turning up, it really was cracking food and wouldn't hesitate to go again. Lovely! Go here if you're in town, I guarantee you won't be disappointed. Oh, the peshawari naan was amazing too.

Friendly staff, great atmosphere and the food is really good.

Very slow service and waiters just standing around chatting rather than cleaning tables. We had dirty plates from the popadoms in front of us about 20 mins after finishing and same with the main course dishes. Also despite the restaurant being fairly quiet it still took us nearly 2 hours despite only having popadoms and main courses. Finally I’d also told them in advance it was my daughter’s birthday and had a response from the manager promising to make it special yet nothing was done and when i mentioned to the waiter when asking for the bill he said they didn’t know anything about it so then quickly just brought her a mocktail with the happy birthday music which just felt like and after thought.

2024 went for 40th birthday meal and the staff were very accommodating, helpful and efficient. Food is just as delicious as always and never disappoints! 2023 - Super friendly and helpful staff, always a guaranteed pleaser with the food. Really enjoyed the flavours, depth and taste of everything. Starters were crispy no grease and the mains portions are always generous.

The quality of food is good. But the quantity served is not sufficient specially if you pick a platter. Money wise I would say they are good, service is good and ambience is also very good.

Our samosa starter was very cold in the middle and had to be sent back which spoilt the evening. Plenty of empty tables so can't understand why they then chose to sit a table of 4 right next to us . The food was OK but not the dining experience I expected for the price £70 for 2 and that was after removing the samosas which tbf were hot second time round

Recently moved to the area and have been disappointed with the bangadeshi fayre so far, so i was excited to try here as we need to find our new "go-to". And we found it. Nice setting overlooking the river. Decor is modern and comfortable. Ordered some dishes I know well to compare and they were great. Already been back again 😊

Can’t fault this venue. We are local and they always deliver the goods. The staff are accommodating, the food is amazing, atmosphere amazing and you always feel special. We went as a big family gathering and everything was perfect and arrived on time. The best indian for miles around

Without a doubt the best Indian takeaway in Northwich. The food was so flavoursome and tasty. I collected my order which was ready very quickly and the staff were very polite. This will definitely become our local.

Always look forward to our regular Thursday night family meal out, unfortunately tonight wasn't great. One order main missed off although the rice came out and was cold by the time the main was located and brought out. Also, no chocolates on paying the bill,which came to £200.

Beautiful places. Food was delicious and the flavours were amazing. Portion sizes were great. Would definitely be dining here again. The view of the quay was lovely too.

What a lovely experience we had at Bombay Quay! We've lived in Northwich now for two years and only just got round to visiting. The staff were lovely from the minute we walked in, the service was on point and the food was delicious. We will 100% be returning customers, thank you.

We have been to BQ a few times and the food is always excellent. This visit our meal was tasty and served quickly, the staff were attentive and rectified a missing naan bread with no fuss. I think the restaurant is let down in a few areas regarding ambiance. It is loud and busy, good to see a thriving business in Northwich, but it isn't the best for a romantic meal out, if that is what you are after. The general noise is frequently punctuated with a very loud 'happy birthday' recording being played which is disruptive to other diners. The dry ice served with your meal is weird, not at all good for the environment and adds nothing, in fact it distracts, from what is generally a good Indian meal. I'm not sure if the management mistake diners' reactions of bemusement for appreciation, but the shrugs and incredulity we saw indicated that this is not most people's cup of tea. The lighting is on the harsh side and the plastic plants hanging from ceiling tiles, coupled with the plastic wrapped towels, flags a restaurant that could look to do better from considering their plastic use and consumption. Overall food is top notch but the restaurant itself needs to drop the gimmicks and plastic.

Food was excellent albeit, although our carryout order was read back to me twice, there was an item missing which I discovered when I got home.

I have been getting a king prawn palak takeaway here for years. Always tasty, but today I got three miserable prawns. One of the most expensive dishes with todays meal all sauce. Not worth the money!!! Disappointed guys.

Great restaurant the food is excellent and staff are very polite organised and knowledgable. Parking is easy and there's a nice bar next door (Salt House). We use this restaurant regularly for both dining in and takeaway and have always enjoyed our meal I would however make the following observation the takeaway food is now exclusively packaged in single use plastic containers and plastic carrier bags. It used to be packaged mostly in foil and cardboard containers. This presents a practical difficulty keeping the food warm in the oven particularly if you have ordered a number of courses After your meal one is left with a 'mountain' of single use plastic. I understand it can be cleaned and recycled though I suspect this is not always the case? Can I suggest that Bombay Quay look into more sustainable packaging for their takeaway service please. I understand that this brings challenges and is something that needs proper evaluation but there are products out there worthy of consideration. Other restaurants and takeaway services have embraced this approach and it is popular with their customers Bombay Quay is a great restaurant and I submit this review in a positive light while trying to give constructive feedback

Went for the lunch time menu, food was excellent and the staff where very attentive, Lamb Balti was so tasty and was fully loaded with meat the same as the tikka masala, would highly recommend.

This really is the place to go, it's really smart, the staff are well trained and super polite, the food is tiptop and the ambience is great. No wonder it's always busy. Well done Bombay quay.

Me and my husband came here this evening for the New Year’s Eve celebration with our teenagers. It was a fabulous evening and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was lovely and the service was great. The singer was really good this year and also the fireworks. We will definitely be back next year!!!!

We went for an Indian here on Boxing Day. The food was brilliant, as always. The staff were all incredibly helpful. Service was spot on even though it was very busy. Cannot fault the food in anyway. Had the tandoori sizzler which was so nice.

We enjoyed an absolutely delicious meal at Bombay Quay this week. The food was so fresh and beautifully cooked. The menu has a excellent range of choices. We have been many times as a family and it never fails to disappoint. The staff are always so welcoming and friendly.

The food is really good but the service was a little rushed which meant some food and drinks were forgotten. The place was very busy so understandable.

Nepalese curry was very tasty indeed. The nans were lovely and light, and the service was excellent.

Once again we celebrated two special birthday family meals at the Bombay Quay …. A 40th and 50th 😀 As usual, the excellent staff and organisation excelled in every way to make the evening a fantastic experience. Food and drink enjoyed by all. We were allowed an early start to decorate the table and give instructions for cakes. Staff took photographs for us. It was a brilliant evening so thank you to all the staff.

Excellent ...friendly welcoming staff nice bright surroundings, the food was absolutely wonderful and big portions, very fairly priced for the quality 😀 Look forward to returning soon x

Great food, very busy due to Christmas get togethers. Staff forgot one or two things, but we're happy to make amends. The toilets and reception area are very cold though when it's cold outside.

The 2 curries we had were like a raw base (of e.g. bolognese which needs to be cooked for a few hours) This has been every time we’ve been, enough is enough. OK if you are drunk, you would not notice. The managers are just sitting on their phone, no interest.

Simply the best! Nicest garlic chilli chicken ever, and chicken tikka massala is to die for. Staff are wonderful. They forgot our naan bread in our take away order and delivered it to us with complementary onion bagees - which were also gorgeous!

Food was really good, although it's a bit less spicy for Indians but just right for general UK standards. Some of the servers were a bit rushed. Overall good experience 😃.

We found this restaurant by chance when we took an overnight travel break. Totally impressed, the meals we chose , one veggie Karai and one chicken dish were both exceptional , very fresh and delicious. Also great service from lovely staff.

Take away for two, chicken teeka starter amazing, onion bargee a little bland and not very crispy, garlic naan really good as were the two mains. If we were local, we would definitely return and eat in restraunt. Very good value.

First time at Bombay Quay, lovely setting, staff very attentive. Food looked very good but lacked flavour, no depth of spices. My starter of chicken chat puri had about a teaspoon of chicken, missed the chat bit completely, wife's king prawn puri, was much the same. Main courses looked good but just didn't taste of much.

I've been to lot's of India restaurants in my life and this is probably the best one I've ever been in the service is the best off the scale, the food is hot and very tasty, there was plenty of staff walking around asking if everything is ok and are you ready for the main course and do you want another drink etc, all the staff were very friendly and very professional, the place is very clean and modern, and when you order your food it's done via a tablet system not a pen and notepad, considering how busy it was we were seated after about 10 minutes I would definitely recommend the Bombay quay and will definitely be going back very soon well done guy's on a fantastic restaurant 👍

I ordered a takeaway on line. I’ve never been before and was pleasantly surprised how lovely the restaurant and staff were. What a delight this place is- I said I’d be back providing my food was ok - it was fabulous- best Indian takeaway I’ve had for years. The onion bhajis had obviously been cooked in fresh clean oil and they were delicious. I can’t wait to come back and visit the restaurant. 5stars. Thank you.

We visit this restaurant fairly often as we are local. We visited after the Pina Colada festival in Northwich and the atmosphere was amazing! The food is just unbeatable! The quality is always consistent and amazing. The food is just brilliant as is the service....

I paid nearly £18 for a king prawn curry with 3 prawns in it ,also got a fish pakora for £6 that was all batter and no fish. The wife had a chicken madras that was all sauce hardly any chicken. Don't get me wrong, the sauce's are lovely but when your paying them prices I expect the food with little sauce not sauce with little food. I wouldn't recommend.

Visited Saturday 26th August - Evening: Easily the best curries I have ever had. The décor is lovely and staff are numerous and very attentive. The chicken is cooked to perfection. Quite reasonably priced for the portion sizes and quality of food. My only gripe would be that it took quite a long time to get our food once ordered.

A superb experience overall! The staff were welcoming and attentive, and the restaurant was spacious and clean. The food was very tasty, well cooked and nicely presented. Even though the restaurant got quite busy ( especially for a Wednesday night) there was enough staff to make sure that weren't any inappropriate waiting times for service. They all worked really hard and I can heartily recommend a visit!

Can't fault the food is absolutely gorgeous, quick cooking time aswell which was shocking cause this place was packed out. Friendly staff who were so helpful and polite. Actual building is gorgeous and beautifully located in Northwich. Only downside I would personally say is it can feel very cramped in certain seating arrangements and certain groups of tables were very loud and jumping about which sort of spoiled the mood but the food, location and staff certainly did make it up with great service.

Was easy to book and reserve online, no waiting on arrival and shown to our table swiftly, It was fairly busy the night we went and we requested a different table from the one we were given due to my partners hearing issue at the time, and Abdul, our server, duly obliged, where we then enjoyed the rest of our anniversary evening with great food and service. Abdul went above and beyond and the staff were very helpful and attentive to not only our table but all the other diners. Great food and a relaxing evening, more than happy to return.
