I have lost count of how many times we have visited with friends, family and work colleagues and every time it is amazing. By far the best Indian restaurant i have been to. Atmosphere inside is always great, looks very well kept inside and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. I'm not into spicy food myself so i go for the milder dishes and it's always perfect. Can't recommend this place enough!

Ordered a takeaway, Shashlik Korai Chicken Tikka for £15.95. Consisted of 4 bite size pieces of chicken, the rest being large chunks of onion and green pepper. Expensive for 2 onions, not good enough.

If you order a takeaway CHECK your order before you leave as there is nothing more frustrating than getting home and finding an item missing or food different to ordered, easy to say yet hard to do when the place is super busy and you feel you need to get out the door after paying, happened twice now, will I order a third time-not sure. The food is good, can’t fault it. Maybe have someone in charge of takeaways and bring the reliability back to a level enjoyed by the customers with bums on seats in the restaurant.

A poor overall experience. Asked to take a seat and wait until a table became available. Drinks took longer than should be expected to arrive. Delay in taking food order. One main dish arrived 10-15 minutes after the rest of the food. Waiter seemed disinterested. Difficult to hold a conversation due to noise/music levels. Food was ok but nothing amazing unfortunately.

Food was okay, went for a Pathia which definitely was not a Pathia, more of a massalla. The lamb pieces were the smallest, most stingiest pieces I’ve ever had in a curry before. Every single waiter that served us were extremely miserable and unpleasant. Probably won’t be back.

We ordered a takeaway from Bombay Quay and were thoroughly impressed! I requested the Chicken Tikka Sizzler and Lamb Tikka Sizzler to be gluten-free due to a Celiac dietary restriction, and the team at Bombay Quay did a fantastic job accommodating our needs. The food was beautifully presented and packaged, with high-quality ingredients that really shone through in every bite. The Bombay special sauce on the side was a perfect addition, and the Mushroom Pilau Rice and Pilau Rice complemented the dishes wonderfully. A big thank you to Bombay Quay for their attention to detail and delicious food. Highly recommend!

Rude staff with unnecessary attitude that took our order with an armful of another tables dirty plates after ignoring us for a while, sighing, just grabbing and moving stuff on the table with no regard for us sat there and just no manners whatsoever throughout the whole time we were there. Not asking for 5* dining experience but basic manners is the bare minimum, surely? We only ordered two starters because the atmosphere was uncomfortable anyway and there was a table of screaming kids nearby, the chicken dish was okay but the prawn dish was almost cold and just bland, I would have sent it back or asked to not pay for it specifically on the bill but I hadn’t eaten all day and just wanted to get out of there in all honesty. Waiter knocked some salad off one of the plates with his dirty hands that he’d been collecting other plates with. We were asked at one point if the food was okay but the waiter walked off before we could even answer to give the feedback. One of the other waiters had a football shirt on underneath his top and just so clearly did not want to be there so at least we could agree on that! Not going to come here again because it’s not worth the money which I’m sure is fine with them because they don’t care anyway.

Been here a few times but think it is getting worse and will give the place a miss - service was appalling - very unpleasant waiter who ‘ threw’ the food on the table - forgot who ordered what meal and just did not seem to care. All dishes were just ok - salmon tandoori was well cooked but all mains and sides were in a red curry tandoori sauce- it looked like a tomato sauce display! It’s a good location and is busy on a Friday night but they just want to get you in and out asap- not a great dining experience - find elsewhere if you can

We recently dined at Bombay Quay and had a generally good experience. The food was absolutely excellent, with rich flavors and beautifully presented dishes that truly impressed us. The decor of the place is amazing, creating a vibrant and inviting atmosphere that enhances the dining experience. However, the service was a bit slow, which was a slight downside. Despite this, the staff were friendly and courteous, making sure we were comfortable throughout our meal. Overall, Bombay Quay is a great spot for delicious Indian cuisine in a stunning setting. With a bit of improvement in service speed, it would be perfect.

I would not recommend this restaurant. Service was arrogant, far too familiar and almost laughable how uninterested they were in providing any sort of attentive service. The food was bang average, the chicken tough, starters small, main course was way below the levels I’m used to from a top class Indian restaurant or so I was told this place would be, let along the fact that it was all lukewarm. Not to mention the place needed a good clean. Will not be going back in a hurry.

This restaurant is a must go - literally right next to Waitrose and there’s plenty of parking so you can’t go wrong parking there. I ordered the Desi Lamb with a keema naan and honestly it was so delicious - great balance of Indian spices and it’s above medium-level of spice. It may not look like much but it was so filling. I highly recommend to those that like to explore more authentic Indian spices in a curry that doesn’t mind a bit of spice. They also have dry ice at the table as soon as your food arrives to help set the mood before you start to eat. All the staff were so kind and welcoming.

We’ve been in the UK for a few days now, and as always, it’s of the absolute importance that we get our curry fix (given the less then stellar Indian food in Berlin). As such, this is now Indian curry number 3… Simply put, 5/5 in all areas. The atmosphere, fantastic. Lovely location by the river with a nice overlooking view, and a well decorated interior. Service is also bang on. The waiters are super attentive, friendly, and surprisingly quick (supported by their excellent chefs) at bringing the food out. Granted, it was a Monday night and then restaurant was relatively empty so YMMV on a busier evening. Now to the star of the show, the food… Bloody gurjussssss. Poppadoms arrived promptly along with the chutney tray, accompanied, by special request, with a side of chili pickle and Mr Naga sauce (give it a go if you’re feeling brave/insane). Not a single floppy pop…. Great crisp and just the right amount of oil. If I had to say.. perhaps the onion chutney could have been a touch fresher but this is really nitpicking. Pops 8.5/10. Starters, bahjis and tandoori chicken leg, again were fantastic. The bahji (essentially a cricket ball size deep fried portion of golden onion goodness) was cooked to perfection inside and out. No soggy/wet areas whilst also not getting too dry (a tough one to master). Chicken… great marinade and a lovely char flavour went hand in hand with the succulent meat. Only problem here is making sure you’ve still got room left for the main course…. We did. Starts 9/10 Main courses were lamb tikka naga, chicken tikka garlic chicken, chicken tikks shashlik (with korma sauce), and… some thin like a reshla? Can’t fully remember the last one. There was a perfect gravy consistency across all of our curries and the flavours and heat were very well balanced. The Naga, was amazing! Sure, it was hot, but it wasn’t crazy like it can be. Garlic chicken, lovely, even the korma was great. Cheeky little combo is the naga sauce mixed with a little bit of the Korma (probably a blasphemous event for true Indian food connoisseurs but a tasty one nonetheless. The Reshla (or whatever it was) wasn’t really for me but my brother was certainly happy with it. I was about to write that perhaps a little more lamb tikka in the naga would have been nice. To be fair though, factored in with the rest of the food, it was actually the perfect portion. I will say, I have had better Naans. I’m personally more of a fan of the traditional style bread, slightly larger, with a little more char/bubbles. Mains 9/10. All in all, and washed down with a few cobras, it was brilliant! If you’re in Northwich, and love Indian food, definitely give the BQ a shot. Note - got very drunk afterwards and woke up with an inevitable hangover, hence the long review 😀

A few things to note. I went on a Friday evening at about 6.30pm. Much of the restaurant was set up for large groups which duly arrived as the evening progressed. Don't expect to have any kind of quiet romantic meal as the noise from the groups of neighbouring tables was very loud with everyone competing with each other to be heard. I ordered the tandoori mixed grill. The last time I had one was last year whilst abroad and was really looking forward to it. It was one of the more expensive meals on the menu so I was looking forward to a real feast. My meal arrived on a hot iron plate not much bigger than a large side plate. For the price I paid I would have expected a lot more and was left hungry afterwards. I might add the food was nice and tasty, just the portion size was small. I was also not a fan of the dry ice gimmick they put in a bowl on the table, it overflows all over the table and onto your food.

Honestly one of the best Indian meals I've had in ages. It was excellent. The service was a little slow at times - our onion bhaji didn't turn up until we'd almost finished our main, not the end of the world and they were good enough to take it off the bill but glad it did turn up because it was absolutely banging. And I know my onion bhajis. Aside from a few delays on food or drink turning up, it really was cracking food and wouldn't hesitate to go again. Lovely! Go here if you're in town, I guarantee you won't be disappointed. Oh, the peshawari naan was amazing too.

Very slow service and waiters just standing around chatting rather than cleaning tables. We had dirty plates from the popadoms in front of us about 20 mins after finishing and same with the main course dishes. Also despite the restaurant being fairly quiet it still took us nearly 2 hours despite only having popadoms and main courses. Finally I’d also told them in advance it was my daughter’s birthday and had a response from the manager promising to make it special yet nothing was done and when i mentioned to the waiter when asking for the bill he said they didn’t know anything about it so then quickly just brought her a mocktail with the happy birthday music which just felt like and after thought.

We have been to BQ a few times and the food is always excellent. This visit our meal was tasty and served quickly, the staff were attentive and rectified a missing naan bread with no fuss. I think the restaurant is let down in a few areas regarding ambiance. It is loud and busy, good to see a thriving business in Northwich, but it isn't the best for a romantic meal out, if that is what you are after. The general noise is frequently punctuated with a very loud 'happy birthday' recording being played which is disruptive to other diners. The dry ice served with your meal is weird, not at all good for the environment and adds nothing, in fact it distracts, from what is generally a good Indian meal. I'm not sure if the management mistake diners' reactions of bemusement for appreciation, but the shrugs and incredulity we saw indicated that this is not most people's cup of tea. The lighting is on the harsh side and the plastic plants hanging from ceiling tiles, coupled with the plastic wrapped towels, flags a restaurant that could look to do better from considering their plastic use and consumption. Overall food is top notch but the restaurant itself needs to drop the gimmicks and plastic.

Great restaurant the food is excellent and staff are very polite organised and knowledgable. Parking is easy and there's a nice bar next door (Salt House). We use this restaurant regularly for both dining in and takeaway and have always enjoyed our meal I would however make the following observation the takeaway food is now exclusively packaged in single use plastic containers and plastic carrier bags. It used to be packaged mostly in foil and cardboard containers. This presents a practical difficulty keeping the food warm in the oven particularly if you have ordered a number of courses After your meal one is left with a 'mountain' of single use plastic. I understand it can be cleaned and recycled though I suspect this is not always the case? Can I suggest that Bombay Quay look into more sustainable packaging for their takeaway service please. I understand that this brings challenges and is something that needs proper evaluation but there are products out there worthy of consideration. Other restaurants and takeaway services have embraced this approach and it is popular with their customers Bombay Quay is a great restaurant and I submit this review in a positive light while trying to give constructive feedback

The 2 curries we had were like a raw base (of e.g. bolognese which needs to be cooked for a few hours) This has been every time we’ve been, enough is enough. OK if you are drunk, you would not notice. The managers are just sitting on their phone, no interest.

Just the best place around for Indian food. As always (takeaway/delivery) spoilt by Josh. Missed a text message to make my curry hotter so brought me another and delivered personally. Food is exceptional. Customer service even better. Best Indian food around by a country mile!

food is nice but we have the set meal for one, which is very nice but needs more variety of curries on the set menu would be better so you are not having the same curry all the time, and to give people more of a choose of curries if they have the set meal

Would not go here again. Food was way below par. The home style chicken mains was awful. Definitely not home style at all. The on the bone chicken was hard and dry. The chapati was not soft and crumbled. Spoke to the manager who's best response was 'this is how we cook it'. Wasn't clued up in customer service skills. Sent most of the dishes back. Avoid!.

Takaway - Starter, prawn chat was very salty. Naan was dry and crumbly obviously not fresh. Currys were Luke warm and not very spicy. Had much better takeaways from here before. Disappointed today
