Nasib Tandoori in Sefton

Formerly known as Nasib Tandoori on Kew Road in Birkdale, this Indian take-away has new owners and a new name - The Tandoori. (I believe it is now owned & run by the people behind Kasturi on Eastbank Street in Southport town-centre.) On entering, I particularly liked the view through to the kitchen - giving me confidence in their offer. Selecting from a smart and comprehensive menu, I ordered the following: King Prawn Danchak (£9) Mushroon Rice (£2.60) Aloo Gobi side dish (£2.75) They advised me waiting time was 30 minutes and the food was ready in about 25 mins. All dishes were enjoyable. Decent portion sizes and good prices. The King Prawn dish had 10 large prawns which were very tasty. I asked for my vegetable dish to be made hot and they got this right. All in all it was pretty good and I`ll be back. Main course chicken curry is a very reasonable £4.75 & boiled rice is £1.65, so you can eat from here without breaking the bank. Free parking directly outside the venue, on the road nearby, or across the road. PRO TIP: ring ahead to place your order on 01704 568637. If you collect and spend £15 or more, you are entitled to a portion of pakora & poppadoms for free!

Our favourite Indian takeaway changed owner a few months ago. Sadly the new meals were just awful. We have tried a couple of other takeaways but been very disappointed. We ordered the meat Thali to enable us to try a variety of dishes. Delivery was free, the food arrived on time and was hot. The nan bread was warm rather than hot but OK. Having had Thali before we were very pleasantly surprised at the portion sizes. More than enough for 2. The starter was very tasty and lots of it. Poppadoms very light and crisp, not oily at all and the dips really good. I love chicken tikka massala and was very happy with it. But the lamb bhuna outshone it. It was so flavourful and the meat just fell apart. The chicken madras was a bit too hot for me, but the meat and sauce I tried were tasty. I think we have found our new favourite and are really looking forward to our next meal from them.

Ordered for delivery through justeat, lukewarm when it arrived. Missing items finally came after 25 mins, all the meals tasted like they had been reheated, maybe midweek the place isn't too busy, or the manager is off. Poor quality generally, we usually use this place weekends and it tends to be good, disappointed 😟

Our friends and family have been frequenting this establishment for decades not years. I have to say in all sincerity that the staffs are wonderful folk and the food is always excellent. Well done

Normally a great service and food!! Different manager tonight that clearly does not know how to treat customers!! Will not use again because of him!!! Very rude!! And we all know that it's the same people that own it after the court appearance but still stood by them!!! Never again!!!!

Absolutely love this place. We have had numerous takeaways from here and its fab every time. Excellent food. Menu choice is great and we often get sides made into mains Cant wait to go back

I visit here every week,family run business with every meal made to a top class dish,I wouldn't go to anyone else this place is special,if you visit southport please give it a try,you will want to go back time and time again,thanks to the family even though I've moved to ainsdale I will still be a regular.mr jerram

Wasn't expecting much as we're usually very fussy when it comes to a decent curry. Was very pleasantly surprised. Good portions, faster delivery than stated and really well cooked and tasty food. Will be ordering from here again. Only thing that would have made it better - more dishes where you can choose prawns (small not King) as main meat rather than just chicken or lamb. That's the only negative though!

The quality of the lamb was terrible. it was very chewy and there was hardly any of it. And the sauce had no flavour whatsoever. And that was just my dish. The wife and child also had similar complaints about their food too. Very disappointing. Will be searching again for a new Indian in the area that is for sure.

Staff there are great, speedy delivery! The food is always lovely and I would highly recommend this family run take away!

Butter chicken is best I've tasted- great service, great value. Peshwari naan is also another good'n - best in area, in my opinion.

Had the meat thali, was very very good. Arrived earlier than expected to which after a long week at work was a winner and all the way to high park too. All in all will definitely be back.

Tried something different this time but think I'll stick my usual in future. As always the food arrived quickly (before the eta), piping hot and with some freebies.

My family and our grandparents from Portsmouth also request a curry from here when they're up!Some dishes can be a bit oily otherwise I find most of the dishes fir vegetarians very good.

Great food well worth the wait

We preordered a takeaway meal for 7 people on New Years Eve including 1 vegetarian. So many times before it has seemed that all the sauces blended into one but every dish had a fresh individual flavour. Delivery was punctual to the minute and included extras. All in all a very successful New Year, thank you

Really tasty meal, chicken korma and saag gosht were delicious, and lovely chips. Only downside was poppadoms were a bit soggy, but otherwise very nice meal.

Sadly our poppadoms were overcooked, but everything else was spot on, and delivered really fast too

I loved the extras i got but the main meal chicken korma was very runny and the rice had a lot of water. I have ordered from here before and the food is normally great.

The only thing that you down was the poppadoms we had to throw them away they where like rubber in the middle. But we will come back.
