As we joined Brick Lane we were immediately approached by their street person, offering us 20% off, and a good seat. We explained that we wanted to look around first, and soon the offer changed to Starter, main, poppadum and nann, plus two drink for £25 each. We agreed this was worth a try… we were wrong. It took 20 mins to take our orders. Then when the starter came (2x Sheek kebab and veg pakora) they were grossly undercooked. The pakora was still wet/ mushy inside, and the kebabs so pail, they may have still been alive? We asked to speak to the manager and pointed out the food was under/uncooked and asked if we could pay for what we’d had and leave. What followed was comical. They took the food away, and refused to let us pay until they’d offered us a new selection of certainly cooked ( charged) food. We again explained that we’d like to pay ( not eat any more food) and leave. They then attempted to charge us for 5x papadums ( we’d had 3), and eventually charged us £24.90 for 3 paoadums and three cobras. We then left. They were polite! But way too busy, and crowded, and I feel this is what led to the slow service and rushed ( undercooked food). I know they have a good rating and plenty of photos of them with celebrities… I’d suggest the high TA score is more to do with them asking customers to give a good report prior to receiving their bill and/or the extravagant discounts.

Altamente recomendado.

AVOID THIS SCAM! I bought a Groupon voucher which clearly stated ANY Starter + ANY Signature/Traditional Main Course + ANY Rice/Bread + Beer/Wine for a reasonable price. When I reached there, I was told by multiple servers and the boss that I could only order from a cut-down menu (likely because the voucher offered substantial discount which they weren't happy with). I repeatedly told them that I purchased the voucher only because of the menu advertised on the website but they dismissed it and kept asking if I was ready to order from the menu which didn't contain what I wanted.. I ended up sitting in the restaurant for more than 30 mins chatting with the incompetent customer services from Groupon who kept asking me to wait patiently. (For what might I ask?) Eventually a guy came up to me and said that I could order what was on the menu that came with the voucher though I still wasn't able to order a few items because the menu was "wrong". The food finally arrived but to my disappointment. The starter was average at best but the main dish was utterly unpalatable. I had a few bites and left the restaurant as I didn't want to go through with the tortorous experience that is supposedly the best Indian place in Brick Lane. "Voted Best Indian" - don't kid yourself scammers. I could easily find an Indian place which offers way better dishes and customer services than you.
