Delicious curry and incredible customer service. We negotiated with their worker outside and got a deal of starter, main, rice/bread and beer for 15 pounds per person. I've had better starters elsewhere. But the main and rice/bread were worth it. Along with the extra large glass of beer. Waiting staff were super friendly and always available to help.

Brick Lane has changed a lot in recent years and there are only half as many South Asian restaurants as there were when I worked in the area in 2006. Nevertheless, the Monsoon does a fine job of keeping-up the street's tradition of providing excellent and affordable Bangladeshi cuisine. I was served a tasty starter, filling vegetarian main course, beer, brandy with friendly service for £18 all-in. I certainly felt very welcome and would happily go back the next time I find myself in the area.

The best King Prawn Danshak anywhere. Definitely my favourite Indian restaurant in London. The food is simply fantastic. Will definitely eat here again soon.

Monsoon, where do I start. What a place. The staff were exceptionally accommodating and with a large group of us, midweek, we were generously offered a private room upstairs. This suited us perfectly and allowed us to indulge in our own booze we had brought. Staff were attentive to taking our orders and the food came without great delay. The prawn puri starter I had was easily the best of any curry house I have visited (a vast number) which is saying something as my go to starter is prawn puri. I had asked for an extra hot jalfrezi which on its arrival certainly did not disappoint. The flavours were sensual and tender pieces of marinated chicken in a rich sauce. I shall be returning.

We have tried all of the curry places on Brick Lane as it is our neighbourhood. Most of them feel quite touristy, offer standard fare, you have little space, and service is rushed. Our conclusion: if we fancy a curry, there is only ONE place we will go: Monsoon. It has the tastiest, freshly prepared food, which is different most most others, the friendliest service, and it is good value. A real treat. We can't wait to be back.

Difficult to choose where to eat in this area, so many restaurants and delicious aromas! We just chose this as it was next door to our hotel - Premier Inn hub (also recommended). Tasty food, very clean place with attentive waiting staff and the owner even came and gave us a hug and a ‘Happy Valentine’s Day!’

During our recent visit to The Monsoon on Brick Lane, we were warmly greeted by the street host, whose convincing charm led us into this family-run gem. The atmosphere was inviting, and the bossman’s hospitality was immediately evident, setting the tone for a memorable dining experience. The menu offered a plethora of authentic Indian dishes, each more enticing than the last. We commenced with the Monsoon Special Biryani, a dish that was both aromatic and flavorful, showcasing the chef’s mastery. The poppadums were crisp and accompanied by a selection of chutneys that tantalized our taste buds.  For our mains, the Chicken Tikka Masala stood out with its rich, creamy sauce enveloping tender pieces of chicken. The King Prawn Puri was another highlight, offering succulent prawns in a perfectly spiced gravy atop soft, fluffy bread.  Perchance, it was the unexpected 20% discount and complimentary drinks that elevated our experience, reflecting the establishment’s generosity and commitment to customer satisfaction. The bossman’s attentiveness and genuine interest in our dining pleasure did not go unnoticed, making us feel like esteemed guests rather than mere patrons. The Monsoon’s reputation as a family business shines through in every aspect, from the heartfelt service to the meticulously prepared dishes. Perchance, it’s this dedication that has garnered them an 8.8/10 rating on TheFork, with particular praise for their quality of food and exceptional service.  In conclusion, our dining experience at The Monsoon was nothing short of exquisite. Perchance, it’s the combination of delectable cuisine, warm hospitality, and the charm of a family-run establishment that makes it a must-visit destination on Brick Lane.

It’s taken me a while to write this review but I went there in November 2024 after having a glorious Float Tank relaxation session. I chose this place having not read any reviews, but I liked that there was no aggressive hawking/promotion/dragging you off the street like some other restaurants in the area. It looked clean, calm and peaceful so my friend and I took the plunge. So glad we did! The service was on point and the food was great. Had an issue with my bhindi in that it cooked dry - but that can happen depending on the season. That was immediately taken off the bill but left with me if I wanted to continue eating it. Both the curries bought were really tasty, hot in temperature and perfect levels of spice. The rice dish was lovely and my bread was light and airy. The pickles served with the popadoms were of high standard too. Service was really attentive without being intrusive and it’s definitely someone I would recommend to others and return to myself.

Oh. My. God. The Monsoon on Brick Lane is not just a restaurant—it’s a religious experience. The second I waltzed in, I was hit with an atmosphere so warm, so inviting, I half-expected a spotlight to shine down and a gospel choir to start harmonizing. And THEN—plot twist—I found myself dining alongside an actual lord. That’s right, babes, I was breaking poppadums with nobility. Who else is doing it like me? Now, let’s get into the food, because I’m still emotionally recovering. The Monsoon Special Biryani? A dish so flavorful, so sensual, I briefly considered proposing to it. The poppadums? Ethereal. Crisp. Delicate, yet commanding. Quite frankly, the Beyoncé of poppadums. And let’s talk service—when I mentioned one dish had a little too much drama for my spice tolerance, they immediately offered to remake it. I declined (because I’m nothing if not graceful), but the fact that they even offered? Hospitality at its absolute finest. Even got a thank you aperitif - so yummy! Long story short: Monsoon is a cultural reset. A masterpiece. A life-changing event. If you haven’t been, I fear for your well-being.

What a lovely place. The atmosphere was purely splendiferous, right from the smells when you enter to the friendly farewells upon our exit. I asked for an extra spicy vindaloo, and boy oh boy did they not disappoint. I will be returning - damn tooting right!!

Brilliant staff. Really accommodating. I would really reccomend the vindaloo and the dhanzak. We were really well accommodated and everyone despite some dietary requirements. I would recommend this above any other restaurant on bricklane, apart from maybe(!) Jaipur. Absolutely sigma!

Food was decent, special request for chicken tikka in my dish was completely ignored however ~ & one of the curries was very spicy with no warning whatsoever. Pretty disappointed as I have been in the restaurant before and really enjoyed. 5/10 on this occasion, not sure i'll return.

So glad we stumbled upon this restaurant on our trip. The food was delicious. We were seated right away. The lamb was the best we’ve ever had!!! Shams and Nazrul were super welcoming and attentive. Would definitely recommend this place.

Very kind staff, who were very accommodating when we asked if we could order a side dish not on the menu. Alon was our main server and he was especially generous, helping us with absolutely anything we might need.

Using Groupon deal, can only choose two starter up to £6.95, which only like 5 choices out of 20, up to £12.95 main, 8 choices out of 40, ONE portion rice or nann to share when the deal is for 2. I’d say it’s definitely one of the top mean restaurants I’ve ever been, the only thing they acted generous is you can choose a house wine, which is probably tasted the best compare to the food lol! the starter was OK, as for the main, lamb was undercooked and chicken was overcooked, and the tiny portion keema rice was ok not much flavour. You get what you paid for, but the point of Groupon deal is if the food is good then it’ll attract people to come back, unfortunately how this restaurant works is the opposite, will never go back again.

Revisiting Brick Lane after 30 years living away from the East End. The owner Shams brought us a real taste of Bangladesh with his recommend menu choices - and better still took us on a conversational journey of what had both stayed the same and changed on Brick Lane in the last few decades. Highly recommended.

I have eaten at this restaurant so many times, i forget how many, including on Christmas day in 2021. Now there's a story. Always the service is brilliant and I'm extremely well looked after. I highly recommend the restaurant; the food; and Nazrul who is always brilliant in bringing everything together. Forget other restaurants on Brick Lane, embrace The Monsoon!!

Jabrul served us on a 7 lad bday spontaneous meal. Needless to say, it went down a treat. Food was full of flavour and spice. It's a difficult one to nail down somewhere on Brick Lane due to the competition. Anyway, you'll be well looked after here so go for it. Also, we got a full free round of beers which sweetened the deal 🤝. We covered the bday boy's food and we were in for £30 each. Bargain

This was a very nice restaurant situated on Brick Lane. It is quite small and cozy, but it was able to accommodate our large party. The food was very tasty and reasonably priced.

Took a group of 50 from work to Monsoon for a Christmas Curry, Food and atmosphere were both outstanding. Fahad and staff were really efficient and everyone loved it. Will be rebooking for 2025!

My boyfriend and I visited London for a Christmas holiday and went to this restaurant 3 times! The service and the food is a 10/10. They are so kind and attentive. The staff are very attentive and friendly. Good choices - there is plenty. We went for a mixed grill, garlic naan and chips. Naan is big enough for one person who isn't too hungry. I would go for 2 naans per person. The mixed grill was good. The kebab was the highlight.

bhuna was so hot(spicy) I couldn't eat it! tikka masala tasted strange and samosa not nice! 1st time ordering from here..won't be ordering again!

This was the perfect location for lunch while we were visiting London in March of this so we had to return to make sure it was not just A One off!! Friday November 9th we returned Once again everything was just as it was on our first visit and the staff remembered us! The Food & service was absolutely wonderful Portion sizes were large with lots of meat & attention to detail was fabulous Thank you to all. We were in London on this occasion to visit the Royal Albert Hall for the Remembrance Service and Join in with our veterans on parade in Whitehall on Remembrance Sunday too. The Monsoon Restaurant we shall return thank you 🙏😀

I bought 4 curry today. Saag alo was disgusting, and the rest of them were okay. They gave me rotten saag alo. I'm really disappointed 😞.
