The Famous Curry Bazaar in Tower Hamlets

I thought I'd come here and drop a bomb about the disgusting attitude of the staff at Curry Bazaar but I see that others have already done it... As soon as I'd finished my meal and before I'd managed to place the cutlery in the finished position, they came round to clear the table. Red flag. They brought me the bill without me asking for it. Red flag. Dessert was not offered. They seemed bothered that I checked the bill before I paid. A couple of chocolates were brought with the bill and I still had half of a bottle of water left, which I'd paid for. But while I was trying to eat the chocolate they came to the table and started removing the table cloth saying that someone else was waiting for the table... Not really my problem. My things were pushed over the table. I told them they were being appallingly rude and that I had been charged for service. They started shouting at me. I told them that I do not tolerate being shouted at. They told me they had said to people that I'd be 5 minutes and the table would be free... Really? I never said that. Thanks for kicking me out. They were literally all over me standing uncomfortably close. They left me with a dirty stained table cloth in their attempt to force me to leave. They then told me I talk too much. I've never been treated with such rudeness and lack of respect in ANY restaurant I have ever been to in Brick Lane or beyond. The staff have literally 0 awareness of social norms, customer service or respect for customers. The place was really loud all the time I was there with yobs swearing loudly without any intervention by the staff. Now I understand why. The food tasted good but the lamb was tough and chewy and full of fibre. The food is better at the City Spice just opposite and when it comes to service you can't go wrong anywhere else by here. Worst service ever. If I could I would give them a minus 5 star rating. I am sorry that I left a single pound here. The ladies' toilet was also smelly with no toilet roll and the sink hadn't been cleaned for a few weeks and was reeking because of it. Absolutely disgusting place and staff. Ruined my evening. I'd only send my enemy to eat here.

Pretty poor experience. Food was just ok, nothing great and quite expensive £75 for poppadoms, one drink each and a main with rice for two. This was after giving us the wrong bill for £125. I know it's Christmas but the problem was we were really rushed through the meal and literally as soon as the last forkful went in they took the plates, gave us the bill and asked us to leave. This was about 45 mins after we sat down. My friend went to the toilet and they asked me to move his coat, suitcase and backpack as well as my backpack outside rather than waiting for a few minutes until he came back upstairs. I'm sure there will be an apology and comment that this is not their usual service etc etc, but this was really poor and unnecessary and it ruined the whole meal. I would never go again.

Great curry that reminded me of the authentic Bradford experience. The paneer was perfectly cooked with a flavorful, well-balanced sauce. The atmosphere was quiet and inviting, and the service was attentive. Mabz was a very smiley, happy waiter. 4/5 stars.

Great food and amazing service. Tommy was an amazing host, however, we did have a small issue where one of the dishes came out overcooked and we had to send it back, but other than that, really delicious. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent service by Mabz. House special lamb curry was exactly what i needed for a late lunch.

Bland and tasteless food. Noisy and chaotic atmosphere with staff and guests shouting over each other. Demanded that we order main dishes when some of our party didn't want them. Toilets are filthy and in a bad state of repair. No idea what the kitchens are like but I'm not confident. WARNING: Check your bill as they overcharged us by a considerable amount. Find somewhere away from the scruffy/dirty Brick Lane.

Big up Madz for the amazing service Chana masala was a bit mid tho :/ Edit: They pressured us into giving reviews after giving us free shots of Baileys so I was honest. The owner, who seemed coked up, then came over at the end begging us to change our review and stay for another shot on him after he’d already seen the bad review. Weird vibes. They also tried to charge us extra for food we didn’t eat and refused to give us tap water, legal requirement in the UK. They’re clearly review farming. Don’t go here!

Food was very good but service was poor. Waited for ages until our order was taken. Had a bottle of water on the table from the start, but took us two reminders to have them bring glasses, but of course the bottle ended up on our bill. One of us didn’t get any cutlery so eventually we took it from another table. With service charge of 12.5% automatically added to the tab, we were not given a chance that our tip provided honest feedback about the service.

Their hospitality is the best part of their restaurant. They know how to respect and treat womens.

While passing through Brick Lane during a weekend, we ate very well in this restaurant. The staff is very friendly and gave us very good recommendations on dishes. The food is tasty, without it being too spicy for those like me who have low resistance.
