I was not initially a fan of Indian food but this restaurant has converted my new found love for it. Very good quality food with reasonable prices. The biryani + butter chicken combination is God tier. The tandoori platter was succulent and fresh. We also tried the Prawn Puree. The best Indian restaurant I’ve been to in London.

Honestly. I used to adore OITA. I still very much enjoy the food and the service. It's always above par, really fantastic. However, for some time now, they have installed TVs throughout the restaurant and outside. And now in the last 3 visits, football has been played on these TVs. From what I could see, this was never requested by a patron, but the staff. Oita used to be the only place around that was just a restaurant, not a bar/pub (there's 5 in walking distance). And it's a shame that the lovely vibes of music and indoor/outdoor garden have been spoilt by this visual/auditory distraction. I'll be visiting other local restaurants instead if this continues... As an example, I was celebrating my birthday there with a meal, and halfway through the evening, the TV behind my friends heads pops on, and the Qualifying for the world cup was put on. Not only was it as mentioned super distracting, but it just feels so out of place when you're trying to eat dinner with friends, it only seeks to take away from conversation. Again, this isn't a pub/bar. And qualifying for the world cup shouldn't be important enough for an exception. When it was sunny and outside, the TVs would also be playing sound, which is even worse, and honestly ruined my last evening there.

Ashers never fails to deliver, the homely feel of this place is welcoming as are the owner. Kumar was very friendly as we're all staff. The menu reminds me my mums dishes. As a party of 5 we tried the barrier rotla with different saags. The taste was amazing as was the freshness of the food. The pickles were a bonus. I will be coming back soon. I doubt anyone will be disappointed with the options available.
