Stumbled across this lovely place while having a few drinks around the corner. Very very good authentic Indian street food, and very friendly staff. Butter chicken, samosas, and paratha were all delicious. Hear they may be getting a restaurant with more tables which would be great, as they only have three small tables, with it currently catering more towards takeaways

We ordered Great Indian Food for a takeaway, and it was still hot when it arrived. Everything was carefully packaged, portions were solid and the food was immensely delicious. Our particular favourite was the Tandoori Paneer which is the best we’ve ever had.

Really tasty! Seems it's focused on takeaway, but still it's worth making a stop for a really tasty curry! Just tried the chicken butter, with steamed rice. Generous portions and really tasty

The name is well deserved their food was great. We had the vegetarian samosas, the tamarind sauce with it was amazing. very good! The pilao rice, also very good! I tried the chicken tikka masala, the chicken was tender and the sauce was tasty. I also tried the prawns with coconut curry sauce. The garlic naan was my least favorite coz it was not cooked enough I guess.

This was one of the best Indian food I had. Friendly staff and good value for money.

I ordered chicken tika yesterday and after waiting 20 minutes I got home and it was completely wrong order I called the shop and he took my name and apologised and said when I am next around he would rectify the problem, well I went In today 1st Nov and I explained what happened and the guy on the till expressed his concern and asked me what I wanted instead, after some 25 minutes thinking I was getting my right order after all the mistake he turns round and says he can't find the order and asking me who I spoke to. I couldn't believe he had he waiting 30 minutes after taking my order but because of there miscommunication and lack of keeping record he refused to actually give me my order. Shocking experience I will not be returning there anytime soon. Much better service and better food in other areas to be honest. Very disappointed 😞

I had the pleasure of eating here last weekend and it was some of the best food I've eaten for a while. It was DEFINITELY the best Indian food I've eaten for years, they truly live up to their name! I don't visit Hackney often but when I do I'll make sure to pop in here again.

Premises was nice and clean, well kept. Staff very pleasant. Food was very nice, it was in-line with what you would expect from a good Indian. Very happy overall, one tiny criticism is that the naan bread was a little doughey. Not quite as light as I would have liked. But very pleased overall.

Insanely good Indian food. Absolutely sleeper. Update: I just wish their online orders were ready on time, this impacts my order frequency. They’re working hard back there and the quantity remains high, so I get it!

This has rapidly become our favourite place for a delivery Indian food. The lamb in the biriani was so tender, the chicken curry delicious and the crispy spinach chaat (with tamarind) is the tastiest starter ever.

Favourite meal was the King Prawn Moilee, amazing. Creamy, soothing and sweet. The balance of spices and coconut rich mil made this meal and enjoyable experience.

Lovely place to eat. Biriyani was splendid and filling, great portion sizes and loved staff members. Will definitely be coming back to visit 👍🏽

Incredible curry. Fresh & delicious!

I’ve eaten here and recently hired them to do the catering for my 50th birthday. The food and service from Aman and his team is incredible, they went above and beyond to help with set up, made the very best of authentic Punjabi cuisine for guests, and ensured everything was as smooth as possible. I cannot recommend them enough, they know their food and they know how to make customers/ clients feel really taken care of.

I like going here to restaurant because I makes the best chicken biryani in Hackney. The manager is Mr Raju who is very good chef. He alway make sure customer enjoys all meals served by restaurants. I got there every weekend as I can’t find another Indian restaurant in the area. Ande is the person who serves you and is also very nice.

The food was fresh! Also the place was clean. Clean tables. The guy on name Qbde was efficient and friendly. Will come back!

From Zurich to London, this is hands down the best jackfruit biryani ( i asked spicy). The samosa chaat was descent. The waiting time for dine in is 15 mins atlest , more if busy time. I went here when rating was 4.8 i think its really worth the rating. The sitting space is less in house and dining also cost more service charge. Grew up around a lot of people of South Asian descent and look forward to visiting London whenever I can for its thriving Indian food scene! Parat was extremely kind and helpful upon walking in and my food was absolutely delicious. Everything came out in no time and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in Hackney.

Our order took 1.5h to arrive to E8 (the same postcode as the restaurant) and obviously it was cold! We were overcharged! My advice is not to order over the phone/their website as your order is lower priority than deliveroo orders

Amazing!!! I’m a huge curry fan and mostly make my own as eating out/ordering is often disappointing (unless heading out to REALLY top notch restaurants)……and then along comes this gem. Great Indian Food does exactly what it says on the tin. Delicious food at affordable prices. I've dined in for their great lunch deals and ordered takeaway dinners. All the dishes have a unique flavour unlike some generic curry houses that standardise all their flavours. Stand out dishes are the Samosa Chaat, Meri Maa Ki Dal Makhani, both Chicken and Lamb Biryani. The only slight letdown is their Tandoori Roti which could be a bit fluffier. But at these prices, you can't complain.
