Dishoom Shoreditch in Hackney

Allergic to peanuts 🥜 ​​and certain nuts, I was able to eat there with my eyes closed because they are so careful about allergens. Very good but only 4**** because it's a little too noisy and a little too factory.

Perfect, nothing more too add. Place to try 😍

Great experience at dishoom, tasted just like in India. The staff were super friendly and helpful as well. Come as early as possible cause it's very popular or get ready to queue up. The good thing is if you had to wait, they'll offer you a Chai latte.

I recently dined at Dishoom Shoreditch, excited by its reputation for excellent Indian cuisine, but was left thoroughly disappointed by my experience. The food was far below the standards I expected. Each dish seemed to lack the depth of flavor Dishoom is celebrated for, coming across as uninspired and bland. Service was not an issue, the staff was polite, but that did little to compensate for the underwhelming meal. As a fan of Indian food, I found this experience surprisingly poor, especially given the glowing reviews others have left. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Dishoom Shoreditch based on this visit.

Very overrated. The food was really bad like really really bad.

We ordered paneer and got the chicken instead. We got the chicken for free in addition to the paneer in the end and cannot complain! What a happy accident. The manager and our server checked and apologized repeatedly and we felt very well taken care of. The chicken was great and the service was really wonderful.

Curry is later than the naan, the naan became cold afterwards. Slight reduced the experience

This place was incredible! The ambiance and great reviews pulled us in, and the staff were so friendly and helpful (in a calm way). We ordered two plates of the Big Bombay which is an Indian take on traditional English breakfast. SO GOOD. Heavily seasoned, warm, soft and delicious. Best eaten slowly so you can savor each bite. Shame we are leaving today otherwise we would come again! 💗💗

Food was absolutely worth the 30 minute wait but our waiter was the only reason I knocked a star off. He came to check in us once and the bus lady had to wrap our food and give us our check.

Food was good, but not worth waiting 45 minutes just to end up sitting in their hot basement staring at their kitchen and listening to every person go to the bathroom. The upstairs seems nice and comfortable, but I wouldn’t go back here if that means I have to risk sitting at a table they added in order to make one extra pound I can order just as good food for take out, but I chose to dine in for a change of scenery and wasn’t expecting the scenery to be a hot cramped basement.

Almost two hours of waiting to get a table (at the beginning of the queue they told us 45 minutes), to maximize their profit they don't allow reservations and offer the customer a terrible experience. Poor and poorly cooked food. Never again even if I could have a free dinner.

Reuben was super helpful and kind with their service, they accommodated a different menu for my dairy dietary requirements and my friends Kiwi allergy. It was an amazing lunch elevated by an amazing service! Thank you Reuben!

Finally tried the infamous dishoom breakfast & it did not disappoint. Favourite dish was the sausage & egg naan. Simple but tasty & great value for money. Unlimited chai was a cherry on top & delicious. We had mixed service however, the waitress spilled our drinks & didn’t replace them. And also nearly took my plate away several times when I had repeatedly told her I was not done with my meal. A waiter made up for it by checking in every now & then to make sure we were having a great time. Overall would definitely come back though! Omelette was also great but naan is a must have!

We came with our dog for dinner and it was a great evening. You can sit in the conservatory with a dog and whilst we waited for our table the host made a comfortable spot for us by the entrance so we could stay warm inside and enjoy a pre-dinner drink. We got an excellent table with ample space for our dog to be out of the way and comfortable and gave us a dog bowl too. The food is incredible as always. I miss the lamb raan special, but the rest of the menu is still amazing! Highly recommend for an evening out where your dog can join.

The veranda was lovely and the staff were really nice. We went here cause I read the vegan Bombay breakfast was incredible. It was fine. If you’re looking for something fancy and very detail oriented I recommend this place. If you’re looking for something down to earth and local feeling, this isn’t it.

This place fully lives up to its expectations. The chai is delicious and each dish was flavourful and tasty. I’d go chicken ruby over black dal.

The place to be! We've already heard good things about this and we understand that. Okay, it took an hour before you were finally seated at the table, but they are very friendly. Chai was even served while you stood in line. It is very busy inside. The staff is friendly and we were even asked 3 times if we had any allergies! We ordered all kinds of dishes and it was very tasty. It was worth the wait.

Personally, I have a lot of allergies which has prevented me over 21 years from eating this sort of cuisine. My experience here has been incredible and I have been amazed at the accommodation of all the staff. The food was indeed amazing.

Dishoom might be my favorite spot in London thus far… the food was outstanding - lamb samosas, okra fries, chicken ruby omg so delicious.

Best food in London, to be very honest!

This is the best British Indian food I’ve gotten to enjoy. It’s a local and tourist favorite spot to visit! It fits the bill for all occasions. Highly recommend getting the house special (Black Daal) and house appetizer. We also ordered garlic naan and rice as sides. Overall, 10/10 recommend!

Delicious food had to wait to get seated but worth waiting. They handed out chai while waiting which was really nice. Music was quite loud but food was amazing. Definitely recommend. This is the second time I went with friends for late breakfast early lunch- brunch. The food was delicious however it arrived cold and had to be sent back again. Lovely experience. I would recommend this place for special occasions as the food can be a bit pricy.

I'm sorry but the noise and hour of waiting almost drove me mad. People screaming, music too loud, not enough seats in the waiting area, so crowded. The food was definitely not worth all that uncomfortable wait. Very few vegan options. My friends had to order potatoes as a main course... So disappointing for an indian restaurant. Also my seat, the table and the floor were wet as if someone spilled a drink. I didn't even take pictures because the lights were so dim. To finish, the toilets were gross. I really don't recommend if you have sensory issues or if you like traditional indian food. The staff was nice to us through all this chaos though. But all in all we were very disappointed. Overrated and overpriced.

The toilets were smelly and the table smelt like it had been wiped with a dirty cloth which was a little off putting, the lighting was quite dark as well. Other than that the food was great!

We have had a great gastronomic experience. Spectacular food; We ordered 3 dishes to share for 2 people: the chilli chicken, keema pau and the prawn moilee. The super nice waitresses (special mention to Cham); He made us some great recommendations based on our tastes. Total success.

I'm not an expert in Indian food. We had dinner here with a group. We had a set tasting menu. I found the food tasty and the service was good, If bread or a dish was done they quickly replaced it with a new one. The ambiance in the basement was ok, functional.

Favorite restaurant during my visit to London hands down! Went for both lunch and breakfast - incredibly attentive staff, great atmosphere, and the food was amazing. Extensive mocktail and N.A. menu as well.

Arriving on a randomly soaking April morning (it was sunny half an hour later, of course) it was a very pleasant surprise to be seated in a warm window booth seat. The service was impeccable, the staff incredibly helpful to a Dishoom newbie and the food... I had the Big Bombay breakfast, with extra beans rather than mushrooms and it was a delight. The meat can often let a breakfast down, but it was as tasty as the rest of the meal on the plate. Will need to come back in the evening too, but for a filling breakfast this is highly recommended.
