Eating at Rasa is always a treat

They are open on Mondays too btw so ignore google’s schedule. My partner ordered the veg feast platter and i order the that Cheera lentil curry. I kid you not, every single one of the dishes you see was banging! The service was special and the best part is that the food is ayurvedicly made. So even if you get out of there full, you don’t feel heavy and slow and mucky like if you eat in other Indian joints. The price is decent for London. We drove 1hr to get there and they did not disappoint. I will see them very soon

The food is fantastic: cheap and sooo tasty! OK I admit some dishes were a bit too spicy for our untrained mouths, but not all of them. The waiters are very smiley and friendly. The location is nice. We'll be back for sure

This is such a fantastic place for South Indian / Kerala cuisine! We were able to get seated on a Friday despite not having a reservation, which was lucky! Everything was really great! A particular standout was the paratha: best paratha I’ve ever had!!! The masala dosa and paneer spinach were also fantastic. The ambiance is wonderful: it’s ornately decorated and warm. It’s absolutely worth the Overground ride to Stoke Newington!

Sent me the wrong delivery knowingly! When I called they said they knew that they had sent me the wrong items and just to ask for a refund on Uber eats. The food was cold, not what I ordered and the people were rude.

Excellent Dosa, dhal, curry and rice. One of the best in London, been consistently good for 30 plus years. Still very reasonably priced. Highly recommended South Indian restaurant.

No waiting and straight in. The decor is from Kerala (so sets the scene) and so is the food. Lightly spiced (could be spicier) good portions of wholesome food and reasonably priced. Good friendly service, all in all a pleasant though not memorable meal and experience.

A beautiful little restaurant with wonderful food and lovely staff. We had the vegetarian feast, which is a large selection of nibbles, starters, curries, nice, bread and a dessert. Really reasonable price. Definitely going back there.

Food served here is not as authentic as mentioned in their website/reviews section. We ordered a main course called ”Pepper chicken”, we didn’t find pepper in it, but was more about tomato puree. It didn’t have any flavors. I don’t recommend it to an Indian folks, what they served is not authentic for the amount we pay! Service was great though.

Come here hungry so that you can fest on their super-affordable vegetarian feast. You will get an assortment of crunchy crackers and different chutneys followed with some Keralan style fritters paired with their own sauces. The main is huge and we got vegetables curry, a spicy daal, cabbages, and a delightful creamy aubergine dish with rice and two types of bread. The rice pudding dessert is a lovely finale as it wraps the scrumptious meal with a mellow, cinnamon note. Will come back!

Great little restaurant we went with some friends. Its vegetarian feast set menu is amazing. It’s a small restaurant with a fun packed atmosphere. Very good price and the food was outstanding.

It is a small place and gets filled pretty fast, so prefer getting a reservation here. The food is amazing and very close to what you might find in parts of India. The service is great and the staff is so sweet as well. (When we were ordering, he even suggested us that it might be too much, which was such a thoughtful suggestion, so it impressed me). I would definitely recommend this place for a vegetarian meal as well because they got so many good choices.

Booked a large table for friends on my 30th Birthday - excellent menu and the vegetarian feast was more than enough for us! Incredible food and great service, I will go back more sober.

Exceptional food at a reasonable price

An outstanding local restaurant. Big portions, cheap, great atmosphere and the service and food are always top tier.

Great for vegans, super yummy food but a little bit rushed. We booked in advance and were seated at 5.30pm on a Saturday and they needed our table for the next customers at 7.30pm. 2 hours. I guess that's all we can hope for in this "time is money" city. Just slightly confusing because it was an unusually quiet evening in there and there were a lot of tables empty when they required us to leave. Felt a bit more like being in central London than little ol' Stokey. The food is fabulous so it's nice to take your time if possible and enjoy the experience. I'd recommend booking for their second sitting at 7.30pm so that you can relax a little bit longer if you want.

Wonderful atmosphere ( love the pink!!!!!) , wonderful food. Perhaps the best paratha of my life. Had a mango & green banana curry which was bang. Okra was the star of the show though. Recommend to a friend!

Food was quite bland, and the paratha I ordered came 25 minutes after my main meal, by which time my curry was cold. Had high hopes for this place but sadly wasn’t good :(

The most wonderful South Indian vegetarian restaurant in London. I have been eating here for many years with family and friends... consistently good food... Must visit!

I booked for 8pm and arrived on the dot actually rushing to get there to make my booking on time, once I arrived there was no seating available and had to wait 30 minutes to be seated by a cramped door way with deliveroo drivers coming in and out to get orders. This is the second time I have come here and it's happened every time. This shouldn't happen if you have a booking system and they're obviously over booking their capacity. The seating is very cramped, you are literally sitting on the same table with other people. The dosas are very overpriced for what they are, a thin layer of bread and potato... £10!?!? I ordered a paneer spinach curry and it only had 3 tiny tiny pieces of paneer in it l. I could have honestly cooked better at home honestly. Come on. They also seem under staffed because I had to order or ask everything twice! Unfortunately won't be going again.

I'm not usually a person who likes vegetarian food but this place is incredible. Best Indian in London, hands down.

The best Indian food in London. Every dish is delicious. It is always busy and you can see why. Incredible value. The dosas are magnificent. Lovely curries, the beet pachadi and bagar baingan two of my favourites.

The signature of the experience was the Masala Dosa, with delicious spicy potato filling. We know one will not be enough for two of us after we had the first bite. As mains, we had Chef Special which was a mixed vegetable curry for us, however, it felt like it could be something more special. The second main was Paneer Cheera Curry and it was amazing. They both worked well with Lemon Rice and Paratha. Pal Payasam was the best finish after all the food, with the notes of cardamom.

We went for lunch becuase of the area. Atmosphere and service was good. However theyve won lots of awards but 10 years ago and we see why. The food is very small portions, they have good vegan options but it seems its just frozen vegetables. The curries dont seem fresh, tinned fruit or stored heated up curry and again the rice portion was tiny. The food SEEMS affordable but with the portion size, it actually works out quite expensive

Rasa has a cosy and fun decor and the waiters are super friendly! The food was incredible - especially the cashew aubergine and the parathas. We were two and had more than we could eat and a beer and it came to £25 each. Would definitely recommend!

Had a lovely evening here, the service was warm and welcoming and we felt really well looked after. The food was absolutely delicous, i would especially recommend the channa masala and the dosa.

every single aspect of the experience was absolutely perfect. upon entry you're hit with a pleasant wave of warm colours and smells. the staff are very friendly and helpful. the food was absolutely divine in every regard and the choice was nearly indefinite. the masala dosa bigger than a child was the star of our table, but every dish down to the humble rice was eloquently presented and perfectly spiced and wondrously cooked. could not be better.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for months as I walk past it frequently and it was delightful! The service was wonderful as was the delicious fresh food. Great atmosphere and very affordable. This is a must for any craving quality Indian food!

Very disappointed, everything was watery, too salty and no layers of flavours whatsoever ! The only good thing was the plantain starter (delicious).

Food was great!! I’m from India hence felt the vibe there. We had ‘banana boil’ which I would say is must try!! Their Nair dosa is really good!! Worth visiting more than once! Good if you are a pure vegetarian as they have 2 branches which serves vegetarian and non vegetarian food so no need to worry about:)

Hands down the best food we had. Please please try the fish curry and the LAMB !! We have been ordering take away since the day we dined in here. And the chef himself was a very humble talented human. Definitely recommend if you want some goood food

Rasa South Indian Vegetarian is fantastic for genuine South Indian cuisine. The staff were so attentive, friendly and genuinely nice. Service was excellent. Prices were super reasonable. I highly recommend it!

ALL of Rasa's curries are very tasty. They don't bother with the usual range of paneer tikka masala etc. but provide something slightly different to other restaurants. They lose a star to me because in 4 years that I've lived in the area the menu has never changed, so I stopped going as I've tried everything!

First of all, the Staff is really friendly and cheerful. Really enjoyed the vibe and the atmosphere. We ordered the Moru Kachiathu with tamarind rice and the crispy Dosa. The Moru Kachiathu was extremely tasty and had a nice spiciness. The Dosa was really crispy and had a tasty flavor. As a side to the Dosa, the Rasa serves a really awesome Potato Masala which ich became our favorite on the first bite. As we headed out (we were leaving London that evening) the Staff even refilled our water bottle for us when we asked them if we could refill it. Tl;dr: Staff: 5/5 Food 5/5 Location 5/5 I can highly recommend to pay the Rasa a visit if you like indian cuisine!

Banging little indian place which specialises in Kerala cuisine. The restraint is bright pink and friendly staff bring our toy food wonderful ready.

I’ve been going to Rasa for years! The food is so good there and the service is always great. There is a waiter call Yasaswy that is just the loveliest, smiliest person.

Lovely eatery, offers a great Vegan and vegetarian menu! Would recommend the Veg tiffin, gives you the chance to try lots of bits from the menu! The medu vada and dosa were especially nice and would defo recommend! The bar is well stocked and the team are very happy to accommodate. If you plan to go as a big group it would be advisable to pre book a table as they do get busy even during the week. Great service from the team, cosy atmosphere and easy to find. Free parking available on the side streets after 1830!

Was better 5 years ago,feels they’ve lost the spark

Ordinarily, a wonderful restaurant with authentic tasty dishes, so it's disappointing that it chose to provide such a dire service on Valentine's Day. Rase offered a fixed menu, and it was if they chose all their worse dishes; dishes that might feature on the menu but is so infrequently chosen that they had mounds of it left over and wanted to rid themselves of it because I can't think of how else to explain what they did. The food on 14 Feb was horrible. Just horrible. No matter how many fake rose petals you liberally scatter on the table, it doesn't make up for the quality the food. The service was friendly and smily but the food was atrocious and over-priced. I hate being ripped off and so for that reason, will never go there again. Exploiting Valentine's Day just to make a fast buck with dodgy food is just bang out of order.

Relaxed treat! High-quality food with very good staff. Helpful, friendly. The overall ambience was warm, and the decor also added to the experience. Dining here is very much an experience - a positive one!

We were recommended here by the other rasa restaurant and here we only came to find out curries are runny and cold and service manager is very rushy and full of chaos. Don't recommend it here. Waste of time and money :(

It does it's food very well but perhaps I'm not the perfect customer for it hence the 4 but this always looks after us, prompt and smiling good service. Quite snug which wasn't perfect for my sciatica but they accommodated well and I've gone a few times so must be doing something right.

The food served was fresh and delicious. They serve Kerala style food which was bursting with flavours. They have some good traditional Indian desserts too.

Gem of a restaurant that has served stoke newington for two decades. Before even veganism was demanded, they were the pioneers in vegetarian and vegan food. A must visit.

Absolutely fabulous vegan food! I don't say that because I've had too much wine to compensate for the lack of red meat on the menu. I'm not vegan. But to go there is a treat. Brings a smile to my best vegan friend. Excellent food, hosting, a good place to wind down after a stressful day. If Kerala brought peace like that I must go there one day too. This restaurant is a statement to an authentic region. India is a beautiful and diverse land mass. I would have to spend a long time to explore all of its flavours and people. But for me this is easily the best Indian in London. Why? I like tandoori but I've been to Rasa more times than I can remember. Even if you are not vegetarian or vegan you have to try this place.

Had the veggie feast for £22.50pp. we had so much food and it was all delicious! Enough that we all had some for lunch the next day. The waiter was really attentive and made sure to explain what everything was. Would definitely come again

One of the top restaurants in Stokey. The creamy aubergine dish called 'bagar baingan' is simply otherworldly. Nice unique atmosphere with pink walls when eating in, consistently reliable service when ordering takeaway. Pretty affordable, reasonable prices. You can't go wrong with Rasa.

This is for the lunch sandwiches on offer - They tout it as indian street food. I went for chilli cheese. The reality was grated cheese on kingsmill that you wouldn't pick up in a school canteen. Could not be more underwhelmed. Avoid for lunch.

One of the most enjoyable meals out I’ve had this year. We ordered loads of food to share and it was all delicious. The dosa masala was the stand out dish - can’t wait to return and order that again. Great friendly service too.

Meeting up with friends and have to say this was a most excellent choice of venues. I was a little concerned about how tightly packed the tables in the restaurant are but it soon became obvious why - the food here is amazing and the service that wonderful mix of attentiveness and chill that places rarely get right. The selection of breads and starters set the tone for the sort of meal that shows why vegetarian food should never be regarded as boring. The inventiveness of the dishes, the sympathetic use of spices for warmth and flavours but never for machismo rugby club heat was perfect as was the bill.

Best Indian restaurant in London!!! All the food is delicious and the staff is very welcoming and kind.

delightful experience. I am usually dissatisfied with many Indian restaurants and with good reason. The food is usually of poor quality and the service is lackluster. Rasa was a pleasant surprise. We were met with a friendly smile and seated at a table of our choice. The medu vada was pretty good and served with a fresh chutney. The okra and the eggplant dishes were excellent as was the payasam. The chapatis were freshly made to order and served off the griddle. The portions were generous. The service was attentive throughout. The bill was quite modest for the amount of food we ate. Whey only four stars? A Campari and soda should not be a difficult drink to serve with a lemon garnish in a tall glass. Mine came in a brandy snifter sans garnish and rather heavy on the Campari. The mysore bonda turned out to be potato bonda with the same stuffing as the masala dosa, They were both good on their own but disappointing together. I'd order a beer next time and avoid ordering these two dishes at the same meal And a special call out to the busy young waitress who was doing an outstanding job. Restaurants are about hospitality as much as about food and she has that in abundance. We will go back and often. I suggest they add one or two more Kerala dishes like an authentic avial and a coconut stew for the appams.

Food was very nice and great that its all vegetarian. We got the big feast which had a really good amount of food to share. The dosa was also huge which we were not expecting! If I go again I may order separate dishes just because there were some dishes I preferred to others. But big feast very good value for money. The staff were excellent, very friendly despite seeing how busy they were. Only thing is would have been nice to have a jug of water for the table instead of having to keep asking for water - might save the staff some time too! We didnt feel rushed out once we had finished so that was also very nice. Thankyou :) im sure we will be back

My fav Indian restaurant in London. Affordable, tasty and friendly staff. Booking is def Reccomended. I went there 4 times now and I always had a nice experience.
