The best place by far! Passionate about their cooking. Been going there 20 years . Can't recommend it enough.!!!

Food was okay. Manager was quite adamant we pay in cash (I think you can guess why) but after we did withdraw from the ATM he was very friendly.

Mediocre dhansak and bhajis. Peshwari naan and popadoms were fine.

I love this restaurant's food. Always delicious, flavoursome and fresh! I've been in a couple of times and the staff have always been attentive, ensuring you have all you need for your enjoyable meal. I think this stems from the owner, who, from my knowledge, is the chef. Each time I eat from here, I can tell that the person making it has a love for food and fresh ingredients !! I love the food here! From vegetarian to meat dishes .

Ordered a take away via Royal India's own website. The lamb dish was excellent - meat was moist; paratha was lovely and flaky. I haven't been to the restaurant, but for the food, I recommend them.

The interesting menu, (I urge you to try the dish of chickpeas with Asam tea leaves) and wonderful food here make Royal India a joy to visit. The 3 fish dishes I tried were marvelous, both the quality of the fish and its preparation are of the highest quality. The skills in the kitchen, and ambition of the menu display that Royal India is much more than a simple everyday high street Indian restaurant. Plus the calm atmosphere of the eat in experience even in these difficult times makes for a really enjoyable evening, and autumn/winter night. Thank you to all involved in the lovely meal that my husband and I enjoyed last night

Just rang to see if they part of government eat out, which they are yet you can't use any other discounts, taste card which it clearly states on the government site that they have to honour both. This even have a simple break of how to calculate the discount. So why are tax payers giving money to a business that can't follow the rules.

I think this place is actually underrated. I am going to bring my friends here before it blows up and becomes completely packed out. Did you know about eat out to help out? You can get £10 off the meal through the government subsidy.

Had some really tasty food here. Really good Biryani - rice and herbal spicy vegetables. Also had a very nice side dish with spinach and soft cheese. Food was super quick in like 20-30min after crunching some poppadoms. Waiter very friendly and knows alot about the food, helping out with the meal suggestion. Apparently they are planning on bringing out some new dishes. Good size portions too. We took some home for next day lunchtime snack. I really like the Indian fabric wall decoration it gives a nice feel. Planning to come back with more friends. Definitely one of my new favourite places on Church St.

Worst meal in a long time. I now understand why this place is normally empty. Inordinate delays; our party of 6 waited 90 minutes for the food to arrive. When it came, two main courses had been left off the order. The waiter was aggressive and unprofessional. My son found hairs in his food. The meals we ordered all seemed to based around the same oily sauce. Mahi fish had strange jelly-like consistency and was full of bones. No track and trace, no hand sanitiser by the door. All in all, a grim experience. Avoid

In brief: if you can collect it, the food is great, but do not order for delivery. The food here is absolutely amazing, whole spices, good meat and really tasty. The problem is the service and the delivery, the first time delivery was an hour and a half- no warning on ordering and when we called to check in they endlessly said 5 more mins and then blocked our calls. But the food came and was hot, albeit very late in the evening. The food was that good we ordered again but anticipated the super long delivery time. The third time we ordered they said (25 mins after ordering) the delivery cost to then (north London to North London...) was £15 and too much so we could collect (we have no car), pay another £10, or cancel. Obviously we cancelled and won't order for delivery again.

There was a problem with our first order (split packaging, we were told), so Deliveroo raised a second one. I received a racist phone call from the restaurant, saying that the first order must have been eaten by the delivery driver, because he was black and "that's what they do." The food itself was poor. Low quality meat, full of bones. Sauces bland and watery,

If you are looking for traditional Indian / Bangladesh food, this is the place. We had a lovely chat with Imran and the food was delicious. Will definitely come again soon.

This restaurant has become my regular after and I pretty much the same things. the quality & taste are consistently good. I have become friendly with the guys there. Recently they are giving the palace a little facelift.

Decent food, not the best quality but affordable prices and and quite quick too. The place was empty but no one was there ready to help me and my friends who wanted some food to take away, I had to call them from the phone while in the restaurant itself, kinda funny.

En una visita reciente a este restaurante, aprendí que el pescado no era fresco, ya que les gustaría que creyeras en el encabezado del menú, pero en realidad estaba congelado. Cuando le pregunté al camarero, continuó diciendo que, aunque el pescado estaba muy fresco, mi pedido tardaría un tiempo ya que el pescado tenía que descongelarse. . . . . umm. . . . ¿microonda? ? ? , marinado y luego cocido. Mi pregunta al camarero varias veces fue '¿Está fresca o congelada'? Me aseguró que estaba fresco. . . . . . . confuso. com. El pescado no era lo que normalmente obtengo cuando ceno en este restaurante, el camarero insistió en discutir conmigo para que siguiera siendo el mismo de siempre, pero luego admitió que tenía razón sin disculpas. . . . . Sin habilidades de las personas. Sugeriría no pedir nada del menú de pescado / marisco que dice NUEVO DE BILLINGSGATE

I work there as a waiter the atmosphere fantastic sometimes if really want to enjoy Indian food you need to wait inthis Resturant i work everything is freshly made even in our homes we have to wait for food whst i am trying to say is INDIAN FOOD TAKES LIITTLE TIME AND IT IS GOOD TO WAIT

Had been here before and the food was great. Tonight, we didn't get the pleasure. Arrived and seated and ordered, however nothing arrived. Around 15 minutes later a more senior member of staff took our order again, including the basics of a glass of water. More time passes and we are only presented with a warm bottle of white wine, with the option of red wine "as it is more Romantic". An extra star for the previous visit, but I'd go prepared for disappointment if the service is having a bad day.

Everything was great except the vegetable curry (Sabzi Masala) which was very disappointing. A box full of sauce with very few vegetables in, that had no flavour. Needs reconsideration!

This meal was ok nothing to go mad about however the service was good and very polite. I tend to judge a meal by the restaurant itself and this place looks good at first glance but look closely and you see the plaster coming off the walls which some's this place up, average at best

I’ve ordered from here for years as the food in this restaurant is good. Tonight it was over an hour late and one meal was missing tho. this happens often. it’s impossible to get through on the phone. when the food arrives the driver said he was the only driver working. Se wont order from here again. it’s a shame they have completely let themselves down

Good authentic Indian restaurant with a broad menu. The staff were friendly and attentive and happy to give suggestions.The food tasted good, nothing exceptional. Only the service took a bit longer than we would have liked but I think it was because the dishes are cooked fresh, and you can tell. Overall a pleasant experience!

Great food - the tandoori lamb chops are amazing as is the thali and chicken kalia. Not expensive, waiter was really nice. Will be back!

NO STARS AT ALL - Do not eat here as they do not take FOOD ALLERGIES SERIOUSLY..they cross contaminated my sons food when he had a severe nut allergy and I had told them well in advance and told them to tell the kitchen staff too - my poor son was later rushed to hospital in an ambulance due to the restaurant cross contaminating he had an allergic reaction to nuts !! . The manager ALLAM or “Alan” as he calls himself is extremely rude and does not take the allergy matter seriously. I would never ever go there again and I would wholeheartedly advise you NOT TO GO THERE especially if you have any type of allergy . The manager said he was in the chef that evening just to cover himself- totally disgraceful !! I hope he gets prosecuted and PUNISHED. Just to add the restaurant was horrible too and the food was served cold and didn’t taste good either. You have been warned..

Bad service, bad food. I called a waiter to order food and only one member of staff could take the order, even though there were 3 staff standing there. So I had to wait a while and then order. When the food arrived it was barely warm, so the food had to be eaten hastily. The flavour of the food wasn’t great but I would label it mediocre. The pricing of the Indian food was nearly double the price of a standard Indian curry as well as the naan. After this ordeal I had to deal with diarrhoea for 2 days straight, so the food wasn’t the best, to say the least.

Belter scran all round, the lamb came to life. The rice tasted freshly picked from the finest seeds. The whole meal was absolute fire 🔥 🔥 🔥we want to go into the restaurant ourselves and personally thank the chef's efforts for our amazing meal tonight but we are so full up from the outstanding experience that we can't move... A big highlight for us has to be the free fresh mango chutney, with accompanying minty goodness and not forgetting the expertly chopped onions they really really were the cherry on the cake! The popadoms popped off! Order while it's hot. We decided to go for the lamb korma, highly recommended by both customers 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉This was bar naan the best in town. Simply the best, better than all the rest, better than any naan. Any naan I've ever ate. Thank you Indian Royal once again for making us feel like Royalty with your delicious and nutritious meal 👑

Fabulous service wonderful food showcasing the wide variety that is found in Indian quisine.Difficult to park a car there but is on a major transport link route.Beautiful tables set with damask cloths and fresh flowers nothing is too much trouble for the waiting staff.Take away service is available

Super slow service and fobbing me off

Lovely food, but service is too slow with takeaway orders taking priority. We use to be regulars here and stopped going, we went back a few weeks ago and found nothing had changed to improve the service. Shame!

I recently came to London for a weekend break and looked for a good place to eat a late lunch with my friend. I am a vegan and she is a meat eater so we were finding it hard to compromise. We stubbled upon Royal's on the way to another restaurant. It looked like a great place to eat and the waiter was very helpful saying that he could cater for me as they cooked everything fresh. I ordered a vegetable vegan Korma and it was no trouble at all for them to adjust the ingredients for me. This is so rare! My friend ordered a chicken Korma. We both enjoyed our meals, the food was gorgeous and the waiter polite and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Next time I am in London I will be sure to go back and have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant. . Thank you for all your help.

Royal India in N16 is probably the best Indian cuisine in North London.

Terrible experience. Food took an hour to come despite literally being the only people in the restaurant. The whole place is falling apart - holes in the walls, paint peeling, lights hanging out of the fixtures. I was warned about the floor in the bathroom being "special" - I was expecting to fall into the basement at any minute. The food is passable, but extremely bland.

I give NO STARS !! ...They did not take my sons severe allergy seriously ...FOOD WAS TERRIBLE ! Service was terrible ! My son ended up having a massive allergic reaction even though we had highlighted the allergy to the restaurant way in advance ..DO NOT TRUST this restaurant ...BE WARNED AND BE very CAREFUL ! My son ended up in an ambulance and was rushed to hospital - disgraceful ! On top of that food came cold - after 1 hour starters came and another hour later we got our main food ...DISGUSTING ! !! Nothing good to say about this place . Other customers were also complaining hopefully they will also write a review ....🙏🏼

I have been inside the restaurant a few time and was nice, slow but just nice. So I thought I would try a home delivery. Over 2 hours 15 mins later they turned up. The food was not cold, so I can't blame the delivery driver. If you are hungry, DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE.

Service was really bad, delivery came very late nearly and hour wait then the delivery time which was given my just eat. Then when called they kept making excuses so very disappointed with the service and wouldn’t recommend ordering from this restaurant

Always had great food when eating here. Never too busy and the staff are always friendly. Edit. Was 4 star, now 1 star. Ordered takeaway from here tonight (27/01/2018) and the order has taken 2 HOURS to come. Ordered a few weeks back and took 1 hour 20. That was ok(ish) but 2 hours is a joke. DO NOT ORDER TAKEAWAY FROM HERE. If you think it might be worth trying, and this might have been a once off, please just go through the reviews and see how bad they really are at delivery. I wish I read them first.

Really good food, does nice fish

Wrong delivery and very rude over the phone. I checked what I ordered in the deliveroo app after the man accused me of ordering wrong and he still refused to listen or resend our order. We were also missing items. Extremely rude and difficult to deal with. I would recommend not ordering from this place when there are so many other amazing restaurants in this area :)

Don’t order food from this restaurant ! Waited 3 hours for food to be delivered !! Called and chased several times the staff are rude, disorganised and unapologetic ... eventually I had to go to the restaurant to collect the food after being told several times that the driver would be with us in ten minutes. I was told that ordering takeaway food is different to eating in a restaurant and that I should expect long waits ? Three hours, really? I eventually got the food after waiting another 20 minutes in the restaurant, was charged full price and received no apology ! How it is possible for a business to run service like this and survive ? I live locally and would never recommend eating here! Avoid at all costs

Tolerated their very delayed delivery service for years, but last night was the last straw...very rude to me over the phone, the guy kept saying the delivery was 10 minutes away, but 1 hour and 20 minutes later still not delivered, finally the guy admitted he had no drivers! He deliberately lied. Then told I would have to come into the restaurant for a refund?! He could have offered cash to be delivered if he couldn't refund via card. All this after having been offered a discount the last time we experienced a poor service. We are very tolerant but finally had enough. If you want a meal delivered but with a four hour time slot (!) and rude service go with these guys.

do not order from this restaurant ! I ordered food at 8pm and the order was immediately accepted , an hour and half later I called the restaurant to check on progress , they are rude, dis interested, dis organised - kept telling me if would be another 10 minutes and that the driver was on the way. he never arrived. I went to the restaurant and again they were rude, un helpful and told me that ordering take away food is different to sitting on the restaurant and that I should expect long waits. 3 hours? really? I eventually got my food after waiting another 20 minutes in he restaurant, was charged full price and given no apology as well as having to walk home with it rather than have it delivered to my door! how on earth do you run a business like this and survive ! disgraceful ! avoid like the plague !

Delivery took over 2 and a half hours. It was cold when it arrived and really didn't taste good. Wouldn't use them again, really disappointing.
