Bombay Delight in Merton

I'm very sorry to say but as a fan of South Asian food, this has got to be one of the worst takeaways I have ever eaten. actually the curries were almost inedible and we couldn't eat the leftovers.

Friendly delivery driver food arrived hot and on time

Attracted by the high ratings, we trekked to the end of Wimbledon Broadway. While the service was attentive, the main dish, which highlighted garlic & ginger, was a lamb curry we couldn’t finish with a generic formula-curry tasting sauce and tough unappetising meat for £16. The veggie dishes & roti were tasty so having such a bad dish in the mix was surprising. We raised our concern with the staff but they insisted there was nothing wrong with the dish. After decades of eating at Indian Restaurants in London it is easy to spot a dude - no delight at this Bombay delight I’m afraid.

I've always wanted to come here for a while and I was treated to a birthday dinner here by my family. I would like to thank the staff for delicious food that did not disappoint me. The customer service was above and beyond outstanding everyone really went out of their way, Especially the waitress who recommended the mild paneer for my nephews. The atmosphere was lovely and peaceful, the decor inside is really beautiful too.

I had a fantastic experience at the hotel. The food was very tasty and had a homely flavor that reminded me of home-cooked meals. I especially want to appreciate the staff - Vrushali and Prem—for their friendly behavior and quick service. Their warm and professional attitude truly made the stay more pleasant. Highly recommended!

My partner and I came to Bombay delights because it had such great reviews so we had to see for ourselves. We were not disappointed! From the moment we arrived the service was impeccable. We ate from the monthly food festival menu and their a la carter menu - both were delicious. Highly recommend Bombay Delights. Great food, great atmosphere, great service!

The lamb biriyani and dosa was good . But the sweets are really awful and not good quality. We ordered pineapple halwa and puran poli and trust me , will never try again. The staff looked a bit out of place , not sure of what was ordered . We would not come back here !

Tasty and flavourfull food in a good and harmonic environment.

Excellent Indian Restaurant, If you are looking for something Indian style food must try, trio Chicken tikka was amazing. I visited 2 days back had a wonderful evening. The staff was very welcoming, humble and friendly specially Sam, he also suggested meals for us from menu. We thoroughly enjoyed our time

My first time at Bombay Delight. Went with a friend. Really enjoyed the food and the service. The only very slight downside was that I was promised that the dish I ordered would be spicy, but it didn't quite do it for me. Next time I'll make sure to emphasise how much I like real spice :D

My friend Patrick took me here for a dinner telling me how great it was and it really did not disappoint! Such lovely food and phenomenal service. unfortunately i did not catch my servers name but she was so helpful and looking forward to our next date here ! I am vegan and it was very accommodating.

Table hazard. Food was good. Getting up from the table at the end of the meal I caught my shirt on a stone spike at the corner of the table. This tore a 2cm hole in the shirt, and drew blood from a 6 inch graze in the skin. I took a closer look at the table, and there was a downward pointing spike in the stone at the corner of the table. It looked as if the table top had been damaged when pushing two stone topped tables together. I showed my shirt to the manager, and he said that they knew about these sharp corners and that they warn customers about them. He did not look at the table in question. As we have been to the restaurant half a dozen times over the past year and never been warned about this, I felt I should publicize the matter on the managers behalf to anyone planning to take guests there

The worst Indian I’ve ever had. The korma was inedible, looked and tasted nothing like a normal korma & went in the bin. The naan was thin more like a roti. The bhajis were small & flat like shop bought ones & only 2 for £6.50!!! Awful

Biggest waste of money and not cheap. Promo code not applied. Items missing and horrible tasting and cold food. Would strongly advise to avoid, it was a big disappointment after wanting to try for so long

We had a delicious Maharashtrian dinner here (this special menu is only on until the end of May). Great fish (King fish), paneer butter massala, methi, green salad, naan and bhakri. Highly recommend the savoury drinks too: sol kadi and aam panna. The service was excellent.

My friend and I had an excellent late lunch. Delicious Bombay street food and an excellent prawn biriani. Great choice of non-standard-restaurant dishes and friendly service. Highly recommended!

It’s not 15.50 £ worth chicken biryani’s because tastes was blind and bitter taste.

Went here for a 60th birthday celebration. Nice restaurant with good food, great cocktails and good service. I thought the food was reasonably priced, very tasty and the portion sizes are good on the mains. There’s a second smaller menu which seems to be a a lot cheaper than the more extensive main menu. One thing we did notice and weren’t overly keen on was the fact that they had a lot of seasoned uncooked fish on a trolly/cart that I assume you choose the piece of fish that you’d like, but the trolley of fish was just sitting at the side in the open restaurant uncovered. If I’d wanted to order fish I wouldn’t have. I would definitely eat here again.

Always made to feel very welcome - and with wonderful Indian food - the Maharastra special menu adds great new options. Could not have been a more positive experience - as has been the case for the 3 years since it opened. Thank you!

Bombay Delight didn’t fail to please with its tasty and flavoursome dishes. The samosa starters and red snapper mains were absolutely delicious, with just the right amount of heat. Overall the service was really good, just a shame we weren’t asked to look at the “catch of the day” trolley prior to placing our order as once we’d seen it we asked to change our order from monk fish to red snapper. Whilst the change was acknowledged, we had to reconfirm our change 3 more times, including to kitchen staff, which seemed OTT. Will definitely return as such great food and welcoming restaurant

I was going to wait until I got back up to Glasgow before going for an Indian meal, but after having a delicious meal at Bombay Delight I was glad I didn’t! Very generous portion sizes with amazing flavours and succulent meats - absolutely no faults with food or service :)

Let’s start with my concerns…. The Titala Jhinga was very bland due to lack of seasoning however the presentation and texture was great. The fish cart offerings were a surprise as it had no pricing so we could not comfortably contemplate what to order. My Jhinga Masala only had two king prawns so for £16 I was taken aback, there’s plenty of margin to double the meal quantity as I just paid £12 and got 25 large fresh King Prawns. So what’s so great about Bombay Delight? The service was excellent, Pavan, our server, was very attentive and he ‘crumbed down’ our table between courses, very rarely done in restaurants these days. The salmon from the fish cart offerings was the highlight of the meal, while it was pricey, we would definitely order it again, it was delicious. The biryani was great but if you’re going to explore the menu one order is plenty to share. For context, it was a meal for two and our first visit. We will definitely return and I hope Bombay Delight take this feedback in the genuine and honest way it was given. Regards DUBLXX

Cena para uno como en el área visitando a un familiar en el hospital. Tuve un curry de cordero del menú del festival de comida, perdóname por olvidar el nombre, pero era excelente, sabor profundo y un calor cálido encantador, un poco de arroz al vapor fue un acompañamiento ideal. El servicio fue excelente con buenas recomendaciones. Bonita selección de poppadoms con algunos dips bien saborizados que rompieron el molde de mermelada de mango. Sin duda merece la pena una visita y un buen lugar para apartarse de la comida típica de restaurante indio británico (que me encanta también, por supuesto)

Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday and had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and the service by Pavan was exceptional - friendly and efficient. To top it all, they overheard it was a b'day and surprised us with a cake for her! We will be definitely coming back here.

I came to Bombay Delight to celebrate my birthday with my friends (5 people). We all are originally from different parts of India. I chose the venue because when I saw the Bombay street food and Maharashtrian menu online I was sold. The atmosphere in the venue is simple but chic. The staff is attentive and kind and gave good suggestions about portions that helped us understand how much to order. The food is SO good that I am worried that I will spend half my salary there by visiting it frequently. Taste of the food is authentic Indian taste! We had tandalachi (rice flour) and jowar (millet) bhakri (bread)- still can’t believe they have it on the menu!!, Ratnagirichi Bhajlel kolambi (prawns west maharashtra style), Bharleli VangI (stuffed aubergine)- my childhood memories came alive , Pandhara Rassa (white chicken dish), Veg Maratha (cottage cheese and mixed veg dumpling curry) for mains. Starters we had kasta kachori, chaat bombs, aloo chaat (next time I am going only for all the street food)!!!. Each dish was tastefully flavoured & delicious and absolutely spot on. We were stuffed but couldn’t stop repeating the same order and ate our hearts out. Then we had puran poli (I am still in shock that it is on the menu)!!and cutting chai for dessert. I felt like I am going to cry out of sheer joy! I am in food coma and in a blissful state. Being a Maharashtrian, I could not have asked for a better birthday! To top it all off, the restaurant got a cake for my birthday which was delicious too! Pawan who was tending to our table was amazing and attentive. Thank you very much Bombay Delight for the cake and making my birthday so special. I will definitely be visiting soon and spreading the word! I will highly recommend this place to Indian food lovers, especially to those who want to try authentic Bombay street food and Maharashtrian food! Btw the old fashioned was great too!! Starters were so good, we forgot to take photos once we started eating 😂 Cheers 🥂
