I recently had the misfortune of dining at what can only be described as the epitome of horrendous service. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that we were not welcome. The staff, led by a particularly abrasive senior manager, barely acknowledged our presence. No smiles, no greetings—just a cold reception that left us feeling like an inconvenience. Throughout our meal, there was an alarming lack of interaction. Not a single person made eye contact with us, even as we tried to engage with our one-year-old baby. Instead of warmth, we were met with indifference that was both baffling and unacceptable in any family-friendly establishment. It was as if our child’s presence was a nuisance rather than a joy. Things escalated when it became apparent that we were being rushed through our meal. Plates were whisked away while we were still eating, as if our enjoyment of the food was a burden to the staff. At one point, the manager invaded our personal space, leaning over us in such a discomforting manner that it felt more like an interrogation than a dining experience. There was no inquiry about how we were enjoying our meals, nor any explanation of the dishes served. We were left in the dark, stripped of the very joy that comes from culinary curiosity. To say that the service was unprofessional would be an understatement. It felt as if our presence was a mere blip on their radar, and the senior manager’s lack of basic hospitality skills was the cherry on top of this dismal experience. I left feeling dejected and frustrated, and I can confidently say that I will never return to this establishment. Save your time and money—there are far better places that understand the basics of service.

Fantastic meal for my graduation with my family. Excellent attentive service from Aaraw & the team who had great suggestions from the menu. Reasonably priced for a high end Indian restaurant and in a lovely quiet street just off Kings road.

The food was definitely amazing, this is my second time here, but the attention from the personal is beyond this world and Araw is the nicest and took great care! We definitely coming back 💕

I was in 2 minds about rating the service, but I'll stick with my rating, although it would be 5 throughout had I had the service that I got 'after'..So went there for my b'day. It was like entering someone's house in the posh area of Chelsea. Great location. It's a cosy spot and the restaurant has a relaxed ambience. We settled in and gave orders for drinks and starters. We were in no rush, and happy to enjoy the evening. We were asked for mains orders, which we did specify we would like after 15mins. Within 5 mins our mains were brought out. I mentioned this and made it clear we were not happy, but he said sorry, the order was ready in the kitchen so he had to bring it out. ANYWAY they were VERY apologetic about the whole situation, and gave us desserts on the house and even a small treat for my b'day. All lovely gestures, but the moment had gone, we had to eat in quick succession because the food was out. So that dampened the evening a bit. They more than compensated for it, so full marks on that front. I just wished it didn't happen in the first place. Food - really good, cannot be faulted. Starter of jackfruit was def spicy, and I would think would blow off heads if not prepared for the kick. We were ok with it, but I think some may struggle. I found the mains portions to be generous and I had to pack most of mine - which was the lamb dish. Yes would recommend to others, because I think they will not repeat the same mistake and will be mindful of giving guests ample time to enjoy their restaurant. Lastly - good cocktails too!

The food was delicious, one of the best restaurants I have ever tried. The food, service, atmosphere, details were incredible. Aarawn was the most attentive, friendly and knowledgeable host we could have wished for. Highly recommend this restaurant and their lovely staff.

The food was outstanding (10/10), but the service completely ruined our anniversary lunch. We came for the tasting menu, expecting a special experience, but the young waiter was blatantly racist or sexist. He ignored me the entire meal, only speaking to my partner, pouring his wine, and checking on his food—never once acknowledging me. I tried to engage, but he refused to make eye contact or respond. It was uncomfortable and unacceptable. No one in hospitality should behave this way, especially in a restaurant of this caliber.

I think we ordered virtually everything in the menu and it was all fantastic! Food felt authentic and well prepared. Vibe is great - small and intimate. Service was spot on and always helpful. Totally recommend if you’re looking for a local vibe with big international flavors.

We had a fantastic dining experience at Kutir, made even more special by the exceptional service from Aaraw. We opted for the tasting menu with wine pairing, and Aaraw was incredibly knowledgeable about both the food and the wine, taking the time to explain each dish without ever rushing us. His friendly and professional demeanor added to the experience. The food was outstanding, with plenty of courses, each beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The wine pairings were well thought out, complementing the dishes perfectly. For the quality and quantity, we felt it was great value for money. The ambience was intimate and elegant, especially upstairs where we were seated. The decor is beautiful, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. A lovely touch was when the team brought out something extra for my partner’s birthday, which made the evening even more memorable.

I came here two days in a week because it was so incredibly delightful. Araw is the sweetest, and he made my night both times. I have not had Indian food to this level in USA. I will be back whenever I am in town just to come here.

So, the food is great. Expensive, but really good, really original take on Indian cuisine. Unfortunately, we came with a child, who had a hard time with the menu because everything is quite spicy. In fact, I might say if you are an adult that has a hard time with spicy food you may want to be careful with this place. In any case, the adults in our party had a good time, but when I left and mentioned that it might be a good idea to have some kid-friendly options on the menu, I was told by the maître d’ that “kids are normally not allowed in the restaurant” and that they made an exception for us. I was surprised, because nowhere in the booking process did I notice this. So after getting home I reviewed the website. I spent a solid 5 minutes scrolling through it, no mention that kids are not allowed… hum! Dear Kutir: please make the mention “kids not allowed” more prominent on your website and table booking process, because as it is it’s not very visible! Other customers; great food, but don’t come with kids.

Fui allí anoche con un viejo amigo y visitamos regularmente restaurantes indios de alta gama en Londres. Las mesas de aquí son un poco pequeñas y dispersas al azar a través de lo que claramente el salón de la casa en la que está. Hace extraña la atmósfera... El servicio es muy atento y bueno. Tuve la charla del faisán y el venado con granos de pimienta que eran muy buenos. El Dahl negro también era excelente, pero en general la elección de guarniciones vegetales es un poco limitada. No me apresuraría a volver, ya que aunque era una buena noche hay mejores restaurantes indios similares en Londres a £ 100 / cabeza

We had a wonderful dinner at Kutir. The restaurant had piqued our interest because of the variety and novelty of the menu - it was great. Our favourite dishes were the Pheasant Chettinad, Aubergine Salan, and Date Pecan. A special thank you to Bhavna who provided excellent service including explanations and suggestions.

Our waiter was Aaraw, he was incredible, very attentive and explained what each of our dish was and how to eat it. We’ve been here twice now and each time has never disappointed, thank you so much we will always come back, best experience every time.

The experience at Kutir was amazing. Lovely vibe and decor, great variety of flavours and textures on the expedition tasting menus, and swift, professional service from our waiter Aaraw. Would highly recommend - well worth making the journey from anywhere in London!

We went for a tasting menu to celebrate a special occasiona. Whilst the food was good we felt very rushed in the service as the tasting menu was just too many courses for the time slot. I understand that every restaurant has a timeslot for dinner reservations and tables are turned but then why offer a tasting menu in a time slot that cannot accommodate it? 90 minutes is simply not enough time for a 5 + course tasting menu The desert, petit fours and tea were all served together due to the shortness of time and we were asked halfway through the desert if we had finished, even though it was apparent we hadn’t When we stated we were still eating, we were told actually our time was up and we should vacate the table ASAP . Even though this was five minutes after orders for tea and coffee were taken. It’s a real shame as it put a bitter aftertaste on such a nice evening and I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone for the tasting menu

so so good, made a last minute reservation at the recommendation of eater london and so thankful me and my mom got to have lunch here. from the moment we rang the doorbell until their graceful farewell, what an experience. the food was really exceptional, and the service to match. i cannot wait to be back when i return to london next.

Absolutely delicious meal. We had the signature tasting menu with the wine pairing and everything went very well together. Arun was our waiter and was very attentive and friendly. The restaurant itself is beautiful. Lovely experience, highly recommend!

A cozy little restaurant with nice ambiance. We had set lunch menu. Overall the food was nice (we especially loved the aubergine salan) but could improve in couple of areas. For example the bread was very thick and we found cauliflower texture a bit too oily. The service while professional was a bit robotic and felt rushed at times.

We had a lovely time at Kutir. We had the duck madras and the guinea fowl biryani. The duck was good, but the biryani was amazing! We ordered off their gluten-free menu which had many great options.

When we land in London, Kutir is our first stop. The service is incredible. We love Aaraw! ☺️ the food is fantastic, the broccoli morel dish is off the charts, venison, courgette, etc…all divine!

Some of the best Indian food we’ve had in London. We used their large private dining room after our wedding. Most guests were Indian and they all loved the food. Service was excellent and friendly. Private room was perfect, and we could also play our own music. Made our day special. Highly recommend.

Food is amazing, you won’t be disappointed at all and they cater for Gluten and Dairy Free. Highly recommended.

The finest Indian food you'll eat, beautiful dishes and absolutely delicious all round. Recommend one of the set menus as it includes most of the signature dishes. Lovely and cosy interior and excellent service.

Dunt be fooled by its rating online. We went there with our family and the service was so bad. Complete racist, they were asking us to be quiet but at the Same time an American family sitting next to us were very noisy, who were not asked to keep quiet. Their dishes cannot be modified taste wise that means all their food is pre cooked and are generally heated and given. Which is not what you expect in a high end Indian restaurant. Avoid these place and dunt be fooled by it’s rating.

Birthday supper (Nov 2024): Very good Indian regional dishes, tastefully spiced and beautifully cooked, lovely fresh aromas. We ordered quite a selection and didn't have a dud dish. Spicing tends towards English tastebuds so we may ask for a bit more intensity next time. Decor is comforting 'Elegant Chelsea Townhouse' and service was discreetly attentive. Good value overall.

Esta fue una de las mejores comidas que he tenido el placer de comer, y por mucho la mejor tarifa de mi semana - larga visita a Londres durante las vacaciones. Todo, desde el cóctel a la comida, maridaje de vinos al servicio y el comedor en sí fue espectacular. Mi hijo y yo teníamos el menú degustación del cazador festivo con el maridaje de vinos, mi esposa tenía el menú vegetariano festivo con el maridaje de vinos, y mi hija tenía el menú degustación tradicional festivo sin vino, y así pude probar gran parte del menú y nada era menos que delicioso. Pero para mí la perdiz marinada de malta con raíz de remolacha y especias fue la más destacada entre los mejores platos que he tenido el privilegio de comer. Mi cóctel Madhosh también fue impecable, al igual que los maridajes de vinos. Finalmente, el servicio fue enfocado y atento pero de ninguna manera intrusivo. La verdadera profesionalidad y una sofisticación relajada definieron esta encantadora comida, que era cara pero no se sentía sobrevalorada dada la excelente calidad y la atención al detalle. Estaría muy contento y afortunado de visitar de nuevo!

Honestly was the best Indian food I have had in London, cleverly thought out and the staff were so warm and welcoming with thoughtful touches throughout our meal. Dishroom isn’t even close to the standard being provided from the door, the atmosphere and the interior. We will be back for sure!
