The number of Indian restaurants in London is ..well they are too many, but the fine cousin in Indian food is not much and this place excels in it, soft creamy and tender cooking that is spiced to ur request, this is a good experience, loved the interior and service was very extremely hospitable, the saffron rice and the butter chicken is a must, and the desert was just fine dinning, we had the golab jamun with ice cream which was great after a spicy meal to sooth everything together

Venga a chicos.

Good food but had to wait a little too long for the second plate that was supposed to arrive at the same time than the first one ( in the meantime first was cold) Not sure what they mean by progressive food though. Maybe a little bit overrated for the price but nice decorum and good service. A good experience.

Bravo !

My expectations were tempered because of all the disappointment I have had with Indian food in London...but that changed with Chingari. It was delicious. The Tandori Prawns were fantastic. Across the board, the best Indian I have had in London. The only annoying part of the dinner was the waiter forgetting to take our dessert order. If we didn't have a show to go to, it would have been fine, but we were in a rush and the waiter never came back. It was the manager that ended up bringing us our bill. Regardless, I would definitely go back.

My fiancee and I had dinner at Chingari on a friday evening, after seeing the advertising near Earl's Court Tube Station. Atmosphere at Chingari was wonderful, a very quite and classy place; waiters were very kind and helpful with our food choice. The food was great and well presented: Konkan Railway Lamb Curry was one of the best currys I've ever eaten, well balanced with spices and flavours; my fiancee had a Vegetable Biriyani that was superb too. Portions were generous, basmati rice well cooked and fragrant, garlic naans perfect. Price was right (55 pounds service included, with beer and water) and for sure Chingari will be our first choice for indian food next time we'll be in London.

I've been staying local to Earls Court every week for the past 2 years and for 3 years from 2005 - 2007 and I get told about this restaurant on my last week in London! Up until then I'd not found a good Indian locally, but this is a great one.The food is a little on the expensive side - £58 for 2 average priced main courses, 1 rice, 1 roti, 1 nan, a side of Dahl Makani, a bottle of water - no starters or deserts and no beer or wine - but you get what you pay for and in this case it was quality food and good service. Expect around £15 per curry.Nice flavours and good tasting food.

Having moved to the area from North West London, where Indian food is at its best (apart from India), we usually end up in the usual high end and expensive places.Great to find a local place where you can just pop in and get good tasting food. The service would match and even beat any other Indian I've been to. Will defiantly use again and probably as a regular.

Being close to home, we had been meaning to visit since it opened several months ago, on the site of the former Mr Wing. The restaurant wasn’t particularly busy, there being a table of six and two couples other than us. This was probably a reflection of the weather rather than the food.We were well looked after by Tapesh – ex Gymkhana restaurant and very knowledgeable about both Chingari’s food and the competition against which the restaurant aspires to be compared. We had a starter each- a soft shell crab and whiting fritters. We then shared a prawn and spinach main (Saagwala Jingha at £15.95) with three vegetable sides, a roti and rice. Along with a good value bottle of Viognier, our bill with service was £100 and the food was both very good and the quantity was more than enough; we ended taking home what we could not eat. This is not your normal neighbourhood Indian/Bangladeshi restaurant; the menu and quality of food aspires to top end Indian dining and the prices reflect this. Don’t come here if you want a long menu concocted from a small number of “stock” sauces, each dish on the relatively short, but more than adequate menu is freshly cooked. Overall we much enjoyed our visit and will certainly return to Chingari.

As a long time resident of Earls Court I have to make sure I shout out about the gems when I stumble across them because I want to make sure they succeed and stick around in my neighbourhood. I doubt that Chingari needs my help in this department but not since Garnier opened up a few years back has a local restaurant got it so right. The food is great, made with real care and understanding of flavour and nuance. The presentation on the plate is mouth-watering and the service is impeccable. And then to top it all off you get a bill that doesn't financially cripple you! In West London? How have they managed this??Really good.

We live just around the corner from our new neighbour and have been a bit slow about dropping in and meeting them. What a shame - as very soon I think it may be hard to get in. I'm always a bit reluctant with Indian restaurants having spent so much time in India over the past 30 years. They can tend to be pale imitations of the real thing - and can also be anglo-indian or even from neighbouring countries. This is the real deal - and when they say progressive they mean it. It is very good, but without going to the lengths of Benares. Go before the crowds find it. Luckily for us, it will still be just around the corner.

I ordered the Tandoori platter, Okra side dish and Naan and it was amazing. The platter included salmon, chicken, prawn and lamb kebab and the presentation and the food were both incredible. I am sorry I forgot to take a picture of the dish. It came served on a slate and each piece of meat was a different color. The food melted in the mouth and the mix of spice was delicate and full of flavour. I highly recommend. Service was super too...

Been here twice since it opened (in what was formerly Mr Wing), first time with the 50% off food offer, second time a few days ago.Space is good, choice of seats in different zones, menu/cooking is very good, done to order, not the usual mass of gee/sauce into which different things are dipped - this is different, nicely balanced and spiced. Portion size is OK for most dishes, although the main curry dishes don't have that much meat in them given the £13-£15 or so price just for the curry (rice, sides extra). Had a biriyani last time, came inside a baked pastry crust, very nice.Service was friendly and efficient.Drawbacks? The pricing of the wine. There are (I think) no bottles under £20, two red/white around the £25 mark, but the vast majority of wines are £30 and well above. This will put some off ordering a second bottle, and certainly the wines are firmly at the upper end of the price spectrum for the area compared to, say, The Bottlery, Garnier, or the other nearby places.Other than that it's a good place to go to, especially if there is an offer one (they do an early dinner special, delivery is also offered), but we'll only go occasionally because of the wine prices - went to Dean Street Townhouse restaurant the day after and there were lots of great wines in this £600+ a night hotel sub-£30 so just be aware of the prices.

We went for a meal to this lovely restaurant that was highly recommended to us. It completely sets itself apart from regular Indian restaurants. The quality of the food is superb. I had scallops to start which were absolutely beautiful. I opted for lamb for the main course which again was really wonderful. Flavours were fabulous and the quality of all the ingredients was of a high standard. Although it was quiet when we ate there on a Sunday night, there was lovely atmosphere there.I highly recommend it.

I had seen an advert for this restaurant on the Tube and feeling lazy decided to wander around and try it rather than cook myself. As it happened this was during its "soft launch".I was very impressed. The restaurant itself was clean and new, well fitted out. The service friendly and prompt. I had the chicken tikka medley which was well presented and very tasty then the chicken biriyani which was both full of flavour and generous in serving. My waiter did err as I had ordered the lamb biriyani but they picked up on the mistake themselves, apologised (I was happy to keep the chicken) adjusted the bill appropriately and brought out a complimentary desert (which was lovely).I'll be going back.

Restaurant recently opened and was attracted to the 50% discount for food, but would have been worth full price. Started with a fantastic vegetable kebab trio with broccoli- a welcome addition to Indian cuisine. The lamb biryani was topped by a puff pastry, which the attentive and well-informed staff explained was actually an traditional preparation now too often omitted. The dish might have benefited from more intense spices, but the lamb was as moist and tender as chopped meat.Dessert was a duo of brules-rose and mango. The mango especially had a complexity of delicious flavors. Only wish I lived in London to eat here more often.
