The food was delicious, we loved the green curry chicken, the lamb Rogan Josh was incredible, as was the daal. Imran provided us with great service 10/10, we had a great laugh, if we are in the area again we’ll drop in thankyou!

I ran was the best thing I experienced in the restaurant! The food was spectacular but the service was the best I ever had. We had achari ghosth which was awesome. Lamb biriyani which was also very good. Our son loved the boneless chicken tandoori. My husband has the king prawn tandoori and half rice. I had two salt lassi drinks which were really authentic. My husband could not stop laughing at Imran. Our 8 year old said he wanted to come back. Very happy because I came to dinner with a bad tummy and the food made me feel better. Will be coming back. Thank you!

Such a great spot if you love Indian Food. Friendly Staff, especially Imran. Such happy to go lucky soul. Bless him for real. Also the other staff. Food arrived faster than expected and absolutely delicious.

The curry tastes are just average, it doesn't have many layers of flavor. And the meat is overcooked, very tough. Naan and Roti are cold which I think is not acceptable.

Heard great things about this place. WRONG! We ended up waiting almost 40 min for our food. They made food for a table that came in after us before ours. Clearly they were regulars or friends. But no apology no updates no one came to check on us. Very snotty service. Portions are SMALL! 6 pounds for naan order and you get one naan. Only. 6 pounds for samosa order and you get 2 small ones. Only. Our dishes had maybe 5-6 chunks of chicken. Food was actually good. But poor service and very small portions I say go to Dishoom instead.!

Two of us met for lunch on a Thursday. It’s a small restaurant so you can easily hear others conversations. We had the window seat which offered the most privacy. The food was very good and plentiful portions. The Bengals fish curry and Dopiaza were excellent. The service wasn’t rushed so you can have a long chat. We were there 2.5 hours. Waiters are attentive - ours requested the £20 tip in cash. Overall a very good experience.

Delicious food and nice atmosphere, but rude service and tiny portions so poor value overall. Curry was not spicy at all, which was very disappointing - maybe they just assumed we wouldn’t want spicy food? We felt like they were trying to trick us into spending more than we wanted to.

Food very tasty but portions small. Staff very attentive and helpful with explaining some of the dishes. Clean and hygienic. Menu quite small. Wine price astronomical.

Went here with my partner yesterday, and was quite appalled with the service. The gentleman was extremely short and abrupt, and we never got our drinks. The food itself was ok, but the portions were terrible. I paid £12.50 for a curry that had 4 small pieces of chicken - that’s it. My partner ordered a dish that was £17.50, and again, very small portion with a tiny mound of rice and a few pieces of chicken with sauce. Very disappointed as I’ve come here before and it has been excellent.

A tasty finale to our Rome, Paris and London vacation. Baby baigan masala, okra curry and other dishes we ordered were great. Mr. Imran (the owner) personally oversaw the service and staff is courteous friendly. Decor was unique. Overall a good dinner and I'll definitely return when I'm in London next.

Vi kom som en stor gruppe bestående af 13 mennesker. Vi blev placeret helt bagerst i lokalet, hvor der var plads. Desværre blev der også placeret en gruppe meget larmende gæster bag os, så det var svært at have en samtale med de andre, da larmen i lokalet var så intenst. Vi fik serveret en masse forskelligt mad, som var yderst velsmagende. Dog manglende vi både tallerkner, bestik og vandglas, men skulle bede om det. Vandglas skulle vi bede om flere gange. Lidt ærgerligt, men tjenerne var søde og rare, så det opvejer det. Deres vin er ikke noget at råbe hurra for, så køb noget andet at drikke. Men alt i alt virkelig lækker mad indisk mad.

The Restaurant was definitely one of the best indian restaurants i’ve ever been to. the service was really great, and the servers were amazing and funny they made funny jokes and where friendly more than i’m used to. Definitely a place to visit!

Service was very rude, we had a reservation and they sat us 40 minutes late, and when we brought it to their attention they started shouting at us and telling us we shouldn't tell them how to run their business. The food was okay although for the price the portions were quite small, considering we spent the same we would have spent going to a place that feels much more classy such as Dishoom. I personally would avoid it.

Incredible service, the food is great. The student meal deal was a great deal and let us try a bunch of great dishes. The manager is extremely charismatic, joking with the table and made dinner a ton of fun.

Prompt and efficient service, and excellent food too

Our dining experience in Kensington was exceptional. The food was nothing short of amazing, and the staff was on another level. They looked after us like we were family, ensuring everything we needed was taken care of. Their consideration for my daughter's allergies was commendable, and she was able to enjoy her food just as much as we did. We had a great time. We'll come back next time we're in London.

What a fantastic restaurant! Our family group of 4 adults went there prior to attending an event at The Albert Hall. It was a lovely, unhurried meal with friendly staff and very tasty food. My particular favourite was a dish based on baby aubergine but everything was delicious. It is definitely on my list of favourite restaurants to revisit when next in London. Highly recommended! Update January 2024: Just 2 of us this time, prior to going to the Royal Albert Hall again and it was the obvious choice to go back to Memories of India. The meal was amazing! Lovely, fresh food, tasty and well presented by great staff-what more can you ask for? No room for a dessert but lots of choice available. This ranks in my top 3 places to eat in London. The food was so good that I forgot to take any photos 😹

Very enjoyable meal no issues polite staff good food good value for money.

Quick and friendly service. A bit let down by the quality of the food. Chicken chaat starter was microwaved; murgh tikka was dry with accompanying veg being overcooked. Basmati rice and peshwari naan both very good. Some big groups there when we arrived and clearly a popular spot! Prices reasonable for the area.

This was a good find. Good food, good size portions. Staff were very helpful and their recommendations for a dessert was a good choice. This venue will be on our list when next in London.

Always there when we need them. Even when it’s close to close time. My wife’s craving weee for pappadoms, they never failed to deliver and be understanding. They’re also very accommodating for our dog :). Good jobs guys. You are a pillar of the community.

My advice these people don’t know how to behave they think they are in. A smart parison restaurant where they behave and do what they wish the customer is always wrong We were considered to be according to the manager one of their best customers until one of the waiters insulted us and the owner MR KHAN refused to ask him to apologise for his insulting behaviour! Needless to say he is no longer there anymore The manager was subsequently sacked and reinstated by MR KHAN as he had an argument with the chef his uncle So clearly a dis functional restaurant We ordered a take away to pick up we love 100 yds from the restaurant We thought we would give them another chance as always enjoyed the food !!! It was ordered for 7pm I arrived at 7pm on the dot Took the food home ,it was cold !!! When I complained to IMRAN the defacto manager he’s only response was “oh dear “ That was what we got Not I am so sorry ! NOT Please bring the food back and we will cook. A new order the order was around £100 Nothing NADA I don’t know one restaurant one sandwich shop one bistro one high end restaurant one fast food restaurant that would behave and respond in this manner Their attitude is arrogant foolish and shows they care not on jot for their customers Have no idea how to respond in an adequate respectful manner They don’t deserve customers We will never return.

A great meal, and an even better waiter. For so long have I been trying to find an enjoyable restaurant within the soulless streets of Gloucester Road (and all its diplomatic drudgery). In memories of India did I find such a place. The food was prompt, hot, and delicious. An enviable triumvirate. The service, all thanks to Imran, was Dionysiac. So much so that we invited Imran for a drink at the neighbouring bar. I really would recommend visiting. X/X.

Food was very dry, no taste and no flavor of curry. It was just bad…

Great service and the food was excellent. I was visiting London on business and looked up Indian restaurants and found this place and it didn’t not disappoint. Good food and service. I would definitely go back.

We were hopeful as the restaurant was nearly full at 1745 on a Wednesday. But we were wrong. Service was good but slow, waited 45 between pops and starters. Chicken chat starter, not much flavour, and very little chicken. Rip off at £7.25. Lamb samosa flavourless, pastry awful. Aloo gobi was the was the best dish of the meal. Kashmiri palak paneer, bitter spinach, lacked spice, no evidence of tomato. Panneer completely tasteless, and not much of it. Chilean Cab Sauv awful. £98 for a poor meal and small portions. Lucky to get 2 stars.

Came to this restaurant over 4 years ago when I last visited London and thought it was the best Indian I ever had. I'm glad to say 4 yrs on when visiting again I was not disappointed...it's still the best!

This is a great place for amazing Indian food. I joined a couple of friends here for a celebratory dinner and it was the perfect experience. The staff is super friendly and our waiter generously gave us at discount at the end of our meal. The food was delicious and the people were great. Couldn’t recommend more!

Really great Indian cuisine. Lovely service, great food that really ticked every box. Even items not on the menu were catered for the Pathia was exceptional. As was the lamb Gosth balti, super tender and all flavours identifiable. Great restaurant, great friendly service, great food.

The head waiter or perhaps the owner was great he was funny and joking with all and seemed to know a lot of the customers who were returning. We arrived early for the dinner rush without a reservation however, we were seated right away. It felt like eating with family. The food is great all but one of us was new to Indian cuisine, that said we all loved our food. We left stuffed and happy. It is a smallish place so making a reservation might help,

What an excellent and memorable dining experience - the service was superb and the food equaled the service - I can certainly recommend this restaurant especially if you are attending the Royal Albert Hall

Best Indian food in London and the friendliest staff

This place was recommended by our hotel! This was the most bland Indian food I ever had. The tea did not have the common Indian spices! The food did not have any spice to it at all! I didn’t and could not eat my food, no taste to it at all!

Food is always excellent, no surprise it has been popular for decades.

The waiter was not respectful and did not care about customer satisfaction, based on the bad reception, I did not try their food, and it was not important to them that a customer leave who was dissatisfied with the service.

1900 hrs on a warm Friday is not the ideal time for easy dining in a central popular London curry house. The noise (mainly from shouting waiters) was horrendous. Our table was opposite the loos where beefy men would que occasionally, as well as sighted next to the ' service's area ( shelves of ketchup sauce and neatly rolled napkins). Food was good, small dishes, but prices, but what's new these days?

This is a great indian restaurant with good, well priced, homely food. Staff were very helpful and accommodating when we needed extra spaces on the table. Great atmosphere, and they organised a cake for my mum. Would definitely recommend.

I loved the mixed pickles more than my main order. The food was nice, but I wanted to taste the curry more in my murgh makhani.

Wasn't very impressed with the food.. Starter was ok, but just thrown on the plate. The creative dish 'Major chop' was awful... Burnt lamb chop with an incredibly sweet honey sauce with a cold, uncooked tomato in the middle... Not nice, at all. Alas, the service was good and there was a friendly atmosphere throughout.

Best real authentic Indian food restaurant in London. Hands-down.

My boyfriend and I loved it so much our first night in London that we decided to go back 3 days in a row. The naan was amazingly soft, and we loved the lemon rice (try it!!!) and the tikka masala too. Most of all, we loved the service. I think his name was Mija, super nice guy. He was very kind along with all of the staff. Very authentic food, and lovely people. There was always lots of people, but not overly busy that you would have to wait, so I think others will agree when we say, it gets our highest review.

O restaurante é muito tranquilo, com uma música ambiente instrumental agradável. Experimentamos 3 pratos diferentes, todos muito saborosos. O naan estava simplesmente maravilhoso. Super recomendo.

Underwhelmed. Food was fine, the naan in particular was great. Service depended on which member of staff was dealing with you. Never got asked if everything was OK or if we needed anything. Not once. One gentleman in particular was a bit aloof, and hilariously asked us to hang onto our cutlery from our starter to use for the main course. Not what you expect from a £50+ a head meal. The service was slow, ridiculously slow from getting the bill to getting the card machine over. Why should that take 20 minutes, and only then after chasing it up? Then the prices didn't match the website. Not good enough guys. 3 stars is more than fair.

Absolutely fantastic food, atmosphere, and incredibly kind staff

We went to this restaurant for the first time today and were greeted with such positivity and kindness The service was exceptional, the server you was with us, paid attention to detail for my young son and ensured he was sat away from the AC even. He recommended wines and food and did not mind the noise and commotion from our little one and even interacted with him throughout out. The food was absolutely delicious and the vibe of the restaurant was remarkable. Side note if you love Bollywood music, they play the bangers ❤️ Would highly recommend this restaurant and would definitely go again.

The quality of the food was very good, and the quantity was okay as well, although perhaps a bit expensive for the amount that you get. However, it is in a very rich area, so it the price makes sense. The staff were very nice and friendly overall, and it´s a very cozy place. They also serve the food very quickly!
