An Indian restaurant with excellent, delicious food. I recommend it. I tried their chicken butter curry with biryani rice, very delicious.

Delicious, great service, and reasonable price

I was taking a trip for the day to see family and we happened to find this restaurant. Well let me tell you, this is the best Indian restaurant I have found in the UK. The authentic flavours of the curries and even the chai bring tremendous taste and strong nostalgia. This place has my most enthusiastic recommendation.

One of the most ordinary indian themed resturants ran by bangadeshis! This is terribly true that bangladeshis running resturants as indian resturant and the food are basically very basic ‘silheti’ flavoured food! This should be stopped. Paid a hefty £40 for very basic curry dishes! From now I promise, I will cook myself!

We went there for the first time two years ago and we had such a good time that we went back during our next trip. The food is excellent and the staff very friendly.

Visited late afternoon (around 3PM) so was relatively empty but luckily for us still serving lunch. We were all very hungry and skipped starters and ordered main course straight away. The chilly paneer was very spicy but the chilly in the name should have warned us about it. Otherwise the food was good and cheerful waiter was very friendly. Nothing extraordinary about this restaurant but nothing to complain about either. More expensive than Indian restaurants elsewhere, but, to be expected given the location.

This was our third time eating here. The food and atmosphere are good but nothing beyond. With exception to the main guy who greets and takes the orders, the other staff seem offish and not very welcoming. Although the food is good, I find the potions quite small. Prices are average for the area. Its quite small and tables are a bit too close together - not sure whereabouts in the restaurant the long table in the photos is - when booking I was told we were sitting at the round table as before but instead we were seated at another smaller table - I didn't like that. Overall, okay but probably will not return.

We went here with three tired kids after a long day of sightseeing. Lovely dinner, everything was great. The food was great and came very quickly, the service friendly and highly attentive. Everyone really liked the food. Definitely coming back next time in London!

Far above average Indian restaurant and appropriately popular with diners. (It was filled the Monday night we were there). The most unusual aspect of the menu is a fairly long list of kebabs. We tried the chicken one which was pretty good but slightly dry and overcooked. The lamb samosas, a small appetizer consisting of two triangles of lamb in a phyllo-like dough, were delicious. The yellow dal is astonishingly flavorful and the best dal I can remember having. Rice was golden (probably turmeric?) and more interesting than elsewhere. We ordered two Indian beers, a Kingfisher and a Cobra. I was disappointed that our server did not inform me that the Cobra was 23 ounces, far more than I was interested in consuming.

The food was well prepared, staff very attentive. we visited this place twice while we were in London because we enjoyed the food so much. It was within walking distance of our hotel on Cromwell. I don’t think you could go wrong with any of the dishes they serve. I look forward to visiting again when I return to London.

I have been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years. It’s a must whenever I’m in London! The food is delicious, of a very high quality, and a good variety of Indian dishes are offered. The atmosphere is pleasant and the staff are friendly. All the curry dishes I’ve had are outstanding. It is a classic London curry house.

Visited when staying locally.... Not booked but a table was available and the food was the nicest Indian we've eaten.... And we've eaten a good few. Price wasn't unreasonable and the food was simply excellent.

Ottimo ristorante indiano. Offre sapori non comuni. Abbiamo mangiato chicken tandoori (3.5, perché un po secco), mixed tandoori (4), chicken korma (4) e green chicken curry (4.5). Personale efficiente e gentile. Locale piacevole. Ho però preferito il ristorante vicino little india.

Food was scrumptiously delicious. Surprised to get such tasty food even outside India. Their 2nd cook who comes after 3 pm is amazing.

The food was delicious. My taste buds were singing. I especially enjoyed the tray of accompaniments that arrived with our food. The pickled relish, house made, was amazing. Our server Imran, was professional and friendly.

This restaurant had amazing service with a variety of food to choose from. Each dish we received tasted wonderful and our overall experience here was the absolute best. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking to have a great time and enjoy mouth watering dishes.

The food was really amazing, if you really like to eat spicy i would suggest go for Paneer Adrakvala that tastes so delicious. And services were too good staff was friendly too Overall it was such an amazing experience

The food and service was so good I can no longer eat Indian food without being disappointed. None of the other Indian restaurants I’ve been too in London have measured up to Memories of India and I doubt any ever will.

Visited this restaurant as it is so close to the Royal Albert Hall. The restaurant looks lovely, the food was amazing and the team there were so welcoming, friendly and helpful. We will definitely recommend here and come again.

Oh just the best Indian restaurant in Kensington, just fantastic food. And the service is splendid , such polite and accommodating people, today I came late at night asking for a take away and they were soo accommodating and soo extremely polite. I just couldn’t recommend this place enough. Very tasty food and incredible polite staff , you can tell they love to serve.

The portion of the food is less for the money … plus some of the waiters act too smart . I liked the mango chutney they serve so I just asked is it made here or I can find it out . To this the waiter got me some chutney packed in a small box. I thought it’s just out of kindness he packed since I asked , only later to realise he added in my bill the cost ! How cheap and smart at the same time . Would have appreciated if he would have told me upfront …. Definitely not going in future !!

Please check your bills … they tend to manipulate it and also not let you to check it !!! Moreover it was a hand written bill… Pathetic people!!!

Open table took the reservation but when we got there a man behind the bar started yelling at us to get out because they weren’t open for another hour. Told him we have a reservation and he again yelled at us and said we don’t take reservations. The person working there was very rude so even if they opened for us at that moment we weren’t staying.

Always one of our favorite Indian restaurants in London. The staff is so nice and welcoming- we love the food - pretty no nonsense restaurant that we go to every summer we are here

Our food: Appetizers: Lamb Samosas and King Prawn Puri Entrees: Akbari Lamb Chops and Tandoori King Prawns Naan: Chili Naan (Best Naan I've had in my life) The food was amazing. But our waiter, Imran really made this a life-long memory.

Very enjoyable meal. We got great recommendations from the owner on some of the dishes. The meat platter for starter was best indian I have ever tasted. We will be back.

Passable and pricey. A tourist trap

The best Indian I've ever made in my life, in every way. Incredible food, magnificent welcome also from the staff. The restaurant is very pretty, beautiful decor... I really recommend it to everyone.

So we have tried several Indian restaurants whilst we were in London and surrounding areas. We think that this restaurant was the best in terms of taste and flavours. I can't wait to come back to London and eat here again!

The food was delicious, we loved the green curry chicken, the lamb Rogan Josh was incredible, as was the daal. Imran provided us with great service 10/10, we had a great laugh, if we are in the area again we’ll drop in thankyou!

I ran was the best thing I experienced in the restaurant! The food was spectacular but the service was the best I ever had. We had achari ghosth which was awesome. Lamb biriyani which was also very good. Our son loved the boneless chicken tandoori. My husband has the king prawn tandoori and half rice. I had two salt lassi drinks which were really authentic. My husband could not stop laughing at Imran. Our 8 year old said he wanted to come back. Very happy because I came to dinner with a bad tummy and the food made me feel better. Will be coming back. Thank you!

The curry tastes are just average, it doesn't have many layers of flavor. And the meat is overcooked, very tough. Naan and Roti are cold which I think is not acceptable.

Heard great things about this place. WRONG! We ended up waiting almost 40 min for our food. They made food for a table that came in after us before ours. Clearly they were regulars or friends. But no apology no updates no one came to check on us. Very snotty service. Portions are SMALL! 6 pounds for naan order and you get one naan. Only. 6 pounds for samosa order and you get 2 small ones. Only. Our dishes had maybe 5-6 chunks of chicken. Food was actually good. But poor service and very small portions I say go to Dishoom instead.!

Two of us met for lunch on a Thursday. It’s a small restaurant so you can easily hear others conversations. We had the window seat which offered the most privacy. The food was very good and plentiful portions. The Bengals fish curry and Dopiaza were excellent. The service wasn’t rushed so you can have a long chat. We were there 2.5 hours. Waiters are attentive - ours requested the £20 tip in cash. Overall a very good experience.

Delicious food and nice atmosphere, but rude service and tiny portions so poor value overall. Curry was not spicy at all, which was very disappointing - maybe they just assumed we wouldn’t want spicy food? We felt like they were trying to trick us into spending more than we wanted to.

Went here with my partner yesterday, and was quite appalled with the service. The gentleman was extremely short and abrupt, and we never got our drinks. The food itself was ok, but the portions were terrible. I paid £12.50 for a curry that had 4 small pieces of chicken - that’s it. My partner ordered a dish that was £17.50, and again, very small portion with a tiny mound of rice and a few pieces of chicken with sauce. Very disappointed as I’ve come here before and it has been excellent.

A tasty finale to our Rome, Paris and London vacation. Baby baigan masala, okra curry and other dishes we ordered were great. Mr. Imran (the owner) personally oversaw the service and staff is courteous friendly. Decor was unique. Overall a good dinner and I'll definitely return when I'm in London next.

Vi kom som en stor gruppe bestående af 13 mennesker. Vi blev placeret helt bagerst i lokalet, hvor der var plads. Desværre blev der også placeret en gruppe meget larmende gæster bag os, så det var svært at have en samtale med de andre, da larmen i lokalet var så intenst. Vi fik serveret en masse forskelligt mad, som var yderst velsmagende. Dog manglende vi både tallerkner, bestik og vandglas, men skulle bede om det. Vandglas skulle vi bede om flere gange. Lidt ærgerligt, men tjenerne var søde og rare, så det opvejer det. Deres vin er ikke noget at råbe hurra for, så køb noget andet at drikke. Men alt i alt virkelig lækker mad indisk mad.

The Restaurant was definitely one of the best indian restaurants i’ve ever been to. the service was really great, and the servers were amazing and funny they made funny jokes and where friendly more than i’m used to. Definitely a place to visit!

Service was very rude, we had a reservation and they sat us 40 minutes late, and when we brought it to their attention they started shouting at us and telling us we shouldn't tell them how to run their business. The food was okay although for the price the portions were quite small, considering we spent the same we would have spent going to a place that feels much more classy such as Dishoom. I personally would avoid it.

Incredible service, the food is great. The student meal deal was a great deal and let us try a bunch of great dishes. The manager is extremely charismatic, joking with the table and made dinner a ton of fun.

Prompt and efficient service, and excellent food too

Our dining experience in Kensington was exceptional. The food was nothing short of amazing, and the staff was on another level. They looked after us like we were family, ensuring everything we needed was taken care of. Their consideration for my daughter's allergies was commendable, and she was able to enjoy her food just as much as we did. We had a great time. We'll come back next time we're in London.

What a fantastic restaurant! Our family group of 4 adults went there prior to attending an event at The Albert Hall. It was a lovely, unhurried meal with friendly staff and very tasty food. My particular favourite was a dish based on baby aubergine but everything was delicious. It is definitely on my list of favourite restaurants to revisit when next in London. Highly recommended! Update January 2024: Just 2 of us this time, prior to going to the Royal Albert Hall again and it was the obvious choice to go back to Memories of India. The meal was amazing! Lovely, fresh food, tasty and well presented by great staff-what more can you ask for? No room for a dessert but lots of choice available. This ranks in my top 3 places to eat in London. The food was so good that I forgot to take any photos 😹

Very enjoyable meal no issues polite staff good food good value for money.

Quick and friendly service. A bit let down by the quality of the food. Chicken chaat starter was microwaved; murgh tikka was dry with accompanying veg being overcooked. Basmati rice and peshwari naan both very good. Some big groups there when we arrived and clearly a popular spot! Prices reasonable for the area.
