Bring back the Basmati Kheer! :)

As per any Dishoom, there is always a wait if you want to eat at a normal dinner time. They have a buzzer system in place and the wait time given was accurate. Go before 5 if you don't want to wait as they have reservations. Despite it's busyness, I felt the service to still manage to be friendly and personal. Staff still smiled, made conversation and we didn't feel rushed. The restaurant itself at full capacity is very loud and there's a live band later in the evening on the Friday we were there. In terms of food, I have felt the menu was a bit boring in the past but actually seems more interesting now. Prices seemed reasonable for the quality and quantity we had. We actually loved everything we ordered and I came out fuller than full. We enjoyed the fish and house chaat to start. Then their special paneer kofta which is limited edition and really delicious! Chicken biryani which was missing a pastry top but I don't remember if they ever kept it on before. Then cheese naan which was delicious, raita and the cucumber salad. Everything worked nicely together, everything was hot and came quickly which is nice because when chains get bigger and busier, sometimes something disappears but they still seem to have a well-oiled machine.

Great experience!! We went there on a Friday evening with my daughter. We had to wait 1 hour to get our table, but as we quickly got a high table at the bar, it wasn't a problem. And from the bar, we were able to enjoy jazz music played live by 3 musicians. And once at the table, the art deco atmosphere and the very good food make for a great time.

Food was awesome as always! We had vada pav, pav bhaji, bun maska chai, house dal with rice, okra fries… list goes on!!

I had an incredible experience at Dishoom! Chris was amazing—his service was attentive and genuinely welcoming, making the evening extra special. The food was a perfect 10/10, with every dish bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The ambience was warm and inviting, and everything was so well-organized that it added to the overall fantastic vibe. It was an excellent time from start to finish, and I can’t wait to return!

An overrated eatery with sluggish service and loud clientele.

Amazing food and amazing service!

Good food, in particular the lamb shank biryani, but exceptional service. Right from the person at the reception to the waiters and waitresses who attended us, each and every member of staff can be a role model for exceptional service in the restaurant and hospitality industry. Thanks guys. Professionalism is important, and so is great food, but love and warmth can win hearts. And that’s exactly the staff members of Dishoom did. Kudos! Edit : After trying their dinner and lunch for at least half a dozen times, it was high time we tried their brunch. And oh boy - for me their breakfast/brunch is even better than their lunch and dinner items! Ok, service could have been better - most of the staff seemed to be a bit sleepy and lacked the usual energy of the prime time staff, but I’ll safely ignore this slight glitch, given the amazing brunch! Their signature bacon naan / egg bacon naan is simply out of the world. And so are some of the other items like Keema Per Eedu. I am not sure from where they source their meat, but this is the best quality bacon I have ever had. It’s less busy as well. One of the many reasons for me to go back for their brunch.

I am pleased to say that Dishoom Kensington holds it's own against other Dishoom's that I have visited. Compared to other restaurants, Dishoom always does itself proud. Excellent service, tasty food and the price is fair.

Everything is perfect! Food, service, mood, really really good. Furthermore, you can spend the waiting time with drinking something. Nice system.

Crazy good food and experience. On top of that, it’s a beautiful place with super nice and helpful staff. We had Chicken Biryani, Lamb Mimosa, Ruby Chicken and some other things I don’t remember. All of them were exceptional. I recommend making a booking before. Although we were lucky to find a table without a booking, the place is super busy. Overall, I rate it 15/10 and highly recommend the place for Indian food!

Only annoyance was the waiting time. But it’s busy for a reason I guess.

Everything was surprisingly authentic tasting. Really enjoyed the chaat and the matar paneer.

Food is well prepared and flavorful. Just a bit too much butter in the dhal and chicken curry has a bit too much sugar. So next time I will add a couple of blander dishes to balance the overall meal. Otherwise, very tasty and great service and atmosphere.

Incredible. Quite possibly the best Indian food I've ever had.

Have been here many times but the service has really gone down. Getting anything was painful. Dishoom what has happened?… I’ve visited nearly every branch. On today’s visit, this branch staffing levels were so low or poor that it was impossible to get the attention of anyone. Server was rude. When the chops arrived the meat was very fatty. The chicken curry was cold. Rice forgotten. Went to the till to pay as nobody had come to take our plates or payment off us for a while. The manager simply got out the card machine and put it infront of us without a word. A bit shocking really. I’ve always gone to Dishoom because you always know what you are going to get consistently….. where on this occasion it hasn’t happened. Amateur hour. We didn’t tip. And we don’t plan on going back.

Going to start with I can't wait to go back! Why? The food is excellent, great choices and I need a gluten free diet, this was easily catered for. The staff were amazing, knowledgeable and most of all, fun. They knew the menu, what we could have and also what went with what. They also stopped me over-ordering. Massively impressed, great value too. The chicken tikka and the gunpowder potatoes were stand out, as was the lamb dish.

Dishoom is the perfect spot for a large group. The Feast menu is large and has plenty of options for dietary restrictions. The service was great and friendly. We had a group of 22 and they made it look so easy to serve us. The food at Dishoom is consistently delicious and keeps us coming back for more! I would highly recommend it if you have a group to host.

Dishoom is one of those rare spots that truly lives up to the hype, even after all these years. From the moment we arrived, having made a reservation, we were seated within minutes—no long waits, just smooth service. What impressed us most was the absence of the usual fuss that many restaurants seem to thrive on. Instead, we were treated to an experience centered around exceptional food and attentive service. The staff were genuinely warm and eager to help, offering thoughtful suggestions and even sharing insights that connected us to our roots. As for the food, it was refreshingly straightforward yet packed with flavor. While there’s always room for minor critiques, they were negligible compared to the overall delight of our meal. We left feeling satisfied and eager to return. Dishoom has certainly earned its place on our list of favorite dining spots!

Good food here. We came at 9pm on a Friday (party of 2) and were quoted a wait of 1.5 hours but only 25 min of queue time. The queue time was accurate but the overall time was more than we waited. I think in all we waited around 1 hour. The service at the bar was bad but the service in the dining room was great. We got a variety of stuff, listed below with asterisks to indicate what we’d get again - Okra Fries - Dishoom House Chaat - Chicken Ruby* - House Black Daal* - Cheese Naan* - Roomali Roti* - Basmati Rice* - Dishoom Chocolate Pudding* - Basmati Kheer

Restaurant packed - no idea why. Went for Brunch having been to another Dishoom for dinner about two years ago. Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. I ordered the Wrestlers Naan apparently loaded with bacon, sausages and fried egg. My wife ordered spicy cheesy bread with egg on top. We sent it all back. Disappointing at so many levels - eggs not runny, naan soggy, not a big (wrestlers) portion of bacon and measly portion of spicy beans to top it off for £4.20! In summary they’ve now officially taken advantage of their past reputation and sadly lost the plot. We won’t be going there for brunch ever again.

We had a wonderful dining experience at Dishoom Kensington. The vegetarian options were delightful, though the Chilli Cheese Toast had slightly over-burnt cheese nevertheless the overall quality of the food made up for it. Despite the long queues, the wait was well worth it. A special shoutout to our server, David, who provided exceptional service and made our visit more enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Lovely food. Have to mention our waitress Sofia, the absoloute loveliest girl who was so understanding and catering towards my nut allergy - she answered all our questions, was so kind and was checking in regularly. She made the whole experience of being at Dishoom so memorable! Will definitely be back if all servers are as kind and attentive as her!

If there is one Indian place in London where you MUST go, It is here. My wife and I had several Indian ex-pats tell us that we had to go here, and we were not disappointed. You need reservations because it gets busy. Rightly so. The food is seriously out of this world. Everything we ate was just fantastic. We had the Chicken tikka, Ruby Chicken, lamb shish, and chicken biriani. All amazing. Even the desserts were on fire. The chocolate pudding with chili ice cream was nuts. Heck, even a friend on Untappd (app) had been there and raved on it. Just go, please...

My server florence was absolutely amazing, she really made the whole experience a whole other level, cannot fault this place at all. Will be back 10/10 service

Honestly dont even bother. To start with our server “sofia” called my poor sister a “sir” upon greeting our table!! to which she was very upset over as she has recently developed alopecia she still looks very feminine and it is more then clear she is a woman. Was just a bit careless and offensive of the staff no apology or anything really. No one came to check on us for nearly 30 minutes….having to chase for drinks. Asked for water twice, never came. Service is just so slow! even when the restaurant became quieter the server seemed uninterested and ignored us. There were things we didnt order she argued with us calling us liars too! Terrible communication and appalling customer service. 1 star is a compliment. To say it was bad would be an understatement. The rest of the team were lovely but we wont be going back for sure.

Our experience was 10/10, highly recommend coming here for amazing service and food. I would recommend booking as we had to wait for a table to begin with but it was definitely worth it as the bar is great to have a couple of drinks. First time at a Dishoom. I want to start off by saying that both the drinks and food were fantastic in terms of quality and taste (margarita, chef's special, chicken curry, okra fries, samosas, potatoes and naan). There is something slightly off, however, about the Dishoom experience. This place is somewhat between fine dining and a diner. Something should change. The prices of the plates are not in accordance with their price. For example, the biggest plate, the chef's special lamb biryani, has a bone underneath the breading top that takes up much of the dish, turning this delicious dish into somewhat of a disappointment. If I'm going to be charged that much for tiny plates then the place should be smaller. It is just too noisy to pretend to be that fancy and have such a slick operation (everybody working there knows what they are doing). It is not pleasant to stay after finishing your meal. Otherwise, plates should be bigger or be cheaper. For such a long wait (~60) the crisps (£4!) should be complimentary or the naan portion has to be more generous. I know this place is very successful and it seems like it'll continue to be this way but something has to change for it to be fully worth it.

Across the board, above average Indian food and a diner like setting. All dishes, regardless of spice indicator, has some degree of heat. Options are limited than a typical Indian restaurant but, has the highlights from rice, curry, and veg, options. If you order naan, order 2 at a time, single order is only one piece cut in half. Teas and cocktails are expansive.
