Traditional Indian tasty food with a large selection of meals! The staff gives excellent advices and is very pleasant. We waited drinking cocktails and they were also well prepared.

I recently booked this restaurant—my wife's favourite—for a special afternoon to celebrate her birthday. While making the reservation two days in advance, I specifically asked if they could do something small to acknowledge the occasion, the restaurant said they would bring out a cupcake or slice of cake with a candle on top at the end of our meal. I was told this could be arranged, and I appreciated that—even the smallest gesture can mean a lot. On the day of our visit, I followed their instructions and informed the reception who the birthday guest was (mentioning she was in a pink dress, as they had suggested). I was looking forward to the surprise and what it would mean to her. Sadly, the gesture never came. No cake, no candle, no acknowledgment of any kind. It was disappointing and honestly a little heartbreaking, especially because I had put effort into making it meaningful. What was meant to be a memorable and thoughtful moment turned into one that I’ll remember for all the wrong reasons. The food was, as always, great—my wife still loves it. But the lack of follow-through on a simple promise really soured the experience for me. It may seem minor to some, but these are the little things that stick with you, especially on special occasions.

The guy who attended our table [Ermal 280] was brilliant in every way. In particular he handled an allergy I have to a spice item in a professional and detailed way, speaking to the chef and providing me reassurance. Also, marking my partner's birthday was a nice touch.The food itself was delicious.

Visited last week for breakfast food was amazing BUT service was the poorest I've received. Hannah I believe, was rude and abrupt.Would not expect this behaviour in such an establishment.

Nice place with a unique old school design. It's best to sit in the main room and not at the bar. Service was very good and extremely helpful. They also have a lot of helpful staff. Not like in some restaurants where they get into their zones and refuse to help you. That's a nice touch, they are one team and they are very efficient. The food itself was very unique. An English/ Indian breakfast fusion. Definitely worth a visit. They also do live jazz on Wednesday too Friday evening so I think I will check that out at some point!

The ambience and service at Kensington were excellent, but the food was underwhelming. The lamb biryani (£27) was decent, but the chicken biryani felt more like chicken curry mixed with flavoured rice. Some appetizers and the ruby chicken were passable, but overall, the small portions and high prices don't justify the experience. It's worth visiting for the location and atmosphere, but I wouldn’t recommend it to a typical Indian diner seeking authentic, flavorful food at a reasonable price.

Deven was a great waiter. I tried everything that he recommended and it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had; from the Rose Lassi to the lamb biriyani and the rice pudding dessert … it was all 10/10!

I thought it was an Indian restaurant and it turned out to be American! The service was good, the food overall was very good. If you put 12.5% of the automatic tip (which you are obliged to pay and most people don't even look at it) on the bill "for The Team", then I think "The Team" is not paid enough. As the price is already high in general, why should I, as a customer, pay for the waiter's salary? I didn't know this was the custom in Indian restaurants in London. Raise The Team's wages!

Ajay made the experience here so memorable! He didn’t have to, but he remembered every order, preference, chased for chocolate chai, mango sorbet, chicken ruby.. and was soo very friendly and attentive even though he had an entire area to manage. We had a fantastic, flawless time here. Thank you Ajay! Hope to see you again :)

Incredible food and service, everyone was very lovely and we were truly taken care of. Food was delicious and came very quickly. Shaving off a star from atmosphere just because it was very busy. But otherwise everything was great!

I order a takeaway for the paneer and was really looking forward to it, but the portion size and taste are quite disappointing… only 6 paneers inside, and the sauce is quite watery hmmm… Is it normal?????

Exquisite food, a very good mix of flavors, balanced and well combined. The Ruby Chicken is a must.

Had an amazing dining experience at Dishoom! The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, with just the right balance of energy and comfort. We tried the biryani and dal. The biryani was full of rich flavor and perfectly spiced, the dal was comforting and beautifully cooked. The service was also spot on: friendly, attentive, and fast.

I had a fantastic meal at Dishoom High Street Kensington. From start to finish, we were treated exceptionally well. The food was incredible — the smell, flavour, quality, and taste were absolutely spot-on. The hospitality matched the food, making the entire experience feel special. This was my third visit, and every time it just gets better. Dishoom has firmly secured its place as my favourite restaurant, and I honestly can't wait to go back again!

We did not have a reservation, hence a longer wait time, but we thoroughly enjoyed a delicious cocktail whilst waiting. Food is amazing, service is great! Definitely worth a visit!

The wait staff is very friendly and attentive to details. The good was amazing especially the lamb chops and lamb samosas.

I didn’t really believe the hype about Dishoom so I decided to try it. Happy to say that it lived up to the hype. The food was amazingly delicious and the bottomless chai is a great idea. My feelings are echoed by everyone else it seems as it was chockablock busy. The atmosphere is great as well and not a single detail is missed right down to the interior decor in the loos. A must try restaurant.

It was almost full during lunch on Easter Sunday. Fantastic service, delicious food. I like it that it was spicy enough but the curries tend to be a tad creamy for the local palate. My only gripe - I find it expensive. We paid GBP80 for 3 curries, a garlic naan and a bowl of steamed basmati rice. Hip vibe.

Iulian was very attentive when we were seated. We recieved exceptionally great service from him and he is a credit to the Kensington Dishoom restaurant. Thank you.

Went twice during my trip in London and food was delicious had the nann and garlic nann bread. The starter chicken dishes were great and we event got to try a complementary Chai Latte

Our favourite restaurant for a date night, excellent food and cocktails!

The ambiance of Dishoom was great, however, the food fell short. The tandoor chaat was chunky sweet potatoes and overall felt sweet to the taste. The pav bhaji, chole puri halwa were good. However there was only 1 entree option for vegetarian. Most of the vegetarian optionss were small plates options. Reading the reviews, we were expecting a better menu choice but we were disappointed.

Everyone has been recommending and raving about this place. I admit it's nice and the food is tasty. However, is the best Indian food I had or worth that huge of a hype? I don't think so. I would come back again, to give it another go and try some of the other dishes to form an opinion. Their briyani is tasty, but not 5star, the chai is mid. The naan was great tho. Also disappointed that raita does not come with the briyani by defaul and you need to pay extra!

Hands down one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve tried! Amazing design on the inside of the building and great ambience, only downside is the main room was a bit loud. But the real star of the show is the food: we had a black lentil dahl that was just fantastic, so creamy and flavorful! The Ruby chicken is also a recommended dish and all the breads are incredibly tasty too! Such a great lunch!
